Dragon Restaurant - Restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
Good food I recommend ordering duck (in advance).
Great traditional Chinese restaurant !
It’s not as good as what Dim Sum should be like but it’s ok. Not worth the price though. Pan fried carrot cake lacks the external layer of slight char but it’s moist enough inside. The Chat Siew bun filling was a tad little and too sweet. Over steamed as the bottom was mushy and had to tear the paper on the bottom off in pieces. Does not have appropriate chilli sauce for Dim Sum. Only the local fermented beans chilli sauce type which is too salty. Wheelchair access to upper level seating area.
Good peking duck juicy and tender while dim sum being disappointing and medicore taste and size
Traditional restaurant famous for roast duck, the must try dish here. You can choose to turn duck bone to soup or porridge, we always choose the porridge and really satisfied with the taste. Other dishes also taste really great, the assorted dim sum is also really great.
Fantastic restaurant for duck! It was delicious and the portion size was really good as well compared to other places Ive been. We received to large plates of meat and crispy skin. We ordered some other dishes as well, which were all fine. The duck was definitely the highlight!
Best Peking Duck in Taiwan. Very old hence very authentic Chinese restaurant. The entrance is as old school as it gets reminiscene of olden day Shanghai-ish TV sets. Dim sums are good here too.... Peking duck comes with several extras, so that is a plus!
One of the best roasted duck in Taiwan. The skin tastes crispy not oily, the breast is juicy and not dry. The soup tastes a little too sweet, but has a fuller flavor.
While the food maybe is slightly better than your average Cantonese restaurant, the cost (over 6000ntand the way they tried to rush us to pay and gave us the feeling we needed to finish and leave left a very bad taste in our mouths. Unless you are dying for Cantonese food and cannot find ANY other restaurants in your area I would definitely give this place a pass. We will not be back.
I attended a End of Year Party with my company and I must say... I was not disappointed whatsoever Peking Duck Amazing...... I will definitely try the suckling pig and lamb next time I visit. Service was wonderful..... Thank you yummy!
Well known for its roast ducks. Pretty nice to try if you never did. Service is good too.
The roast duck I had during my visit in late December 2020 was quite good. The skin was crisp without being oily. The flesh was quite moist and flavorful. What kept me from praising the dish as being outstanding were due to two reasons: 1The flesh were not quite tender like the best ones I had; and 2the pancake wrappers accompanying the duck were somewhat dry.Our party of eight also ordered a variety of other dishes and dim sum. Most were average in quality although quantity for each dish was smaller than average found elsewhere in Taipei. On the positive side, the decor is invitingly bright and somewhat festive. The service was decent as servers came to replace small plates and refill water without being asked to.Overall, I would but object to going back but would probably limit my order to the tried and true.
Excellent peking ducking, the restaurant offers a variety of ways to cook the bones, we selected the stir-fry option. The rest of the dishes were alright, nothing amazing but it is a good place for friends and family to gather.
Pretty decent grilled duck. Way better flavour than 天廚。Reservation is highly recommended since it’s usually pretty crowded. The Cantonese food here is pretty good. Dinner has fewer dim sum options than lunch times.
Peking duck is really tasty and rest food are awesome as well
The crispy skin duck was good but the congee at the end was quite disappointing to my friends that have dined here before. The side dishes we ordered were decent but the carrot cake was below average.
The Beijing duck should be the best in Taipei.
Visited the place at weekday dinner time as friends gathering. Not a fancy decoration instead a more old style Taiwanese restaurant. Great food especially baking roasted duck! Very recommended!
The best Cantonese restaurant outside Hong Kong. Dim Sums are excellent during packed lunch hour. Service is so good during dinner time at night that I have never experienced before. Food is excellent when compared to other 4 an 5 star hotels. The chefs are really professional chefs. And prices are reasonable too.
Probably the best Peking Duck in Taipei! They hold to high traditional standards. Excellent congee made from your duck bones. Reservations are a must. Two dinner seatings a night at 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
The whole experience was unsatisfying. The service personal was pretty stressed and didnt tell us about the additional costs for tea and certain other things. The duck meat was a bit overcooked and not enough for 4 people. All in all a very stressful and unsatisfying ambiente.
Good quality food especially Peking/roast duck. Big duck compared to what I’ve had in other places (also pricier than other places at NT1600), very crispy skin and well presented. Self-wrap meat in tortilla with hoisin soy sauce and scallion, red hot pepper optional (first time I had it this way with spicy but not bad, medium hot). Cover at end was good too, very flavorful though took a while to come out, good to share dim sum dishes in between. Service was decent. Note the tea and appetizers on tables cost extra (NT50 per appetizer dish, NT15 per person for tea). Enjoyable for special or celebratory occasions, but pricey for regular dining. Can take bones home for making some good soup/porridge. Lots of meat remain on bones actually.
Pretty strict policy for dining . We went there for dinner and there is only 5pm or 7pm two timeframe for reservation. We ordered the crispy duck ,some dimsum and stir fry dishes but the taste was very average for me . For the price of food is not worthy too.A lot of tourists , not sure it is so busy coz of reputation or food taste ?
Best Beijing Duck in Town, need a pre order, but it really worth it!!!!
Absolutely tasty. A very nice experience.
One would notice that this is an extremely popular restaurant when entered through the lobby.Excellent cuisine with all sorts of dishes though. In particular, the BBQ Beijing duck. The soup was ok comparing with the veggie soup we ordered. The service staffs are probably one of the weakest links in the operation. We had to asked at least three times for the orders of the rice, soup, Desserts. They admitted that they did forget and was because of the crowded patrons. The noise level was also very high! So, you would wanna go there for the foods but not the service.
Wow, the roasted duck was soo delicious, they brought it to our table first, to show it to us and then they served it in slices. It was really tasty. The service was also really nice and the restaurant itself is cool. Definitely recommended!
Probably the most amazing duck Ive ever had. All the other dishes Ive tried were awesome as well.
A bit pricey and the service is not so good for Taiwans standard though the roasted duck was quite well done.
My cousin made reservations for 5 of us here because she knows how much I love roast duck. We arrived at 11:30 and were quickly seated. The dining room is decorated in the standard over the top and slightly tacky way Chinese banquet rooms all seem to be but it was familiar. There were complimentary plates of sweetened taro and century eggs already on the table and some tea was brought out right after.Theres a 90 minute time limit per reservation and the servers were eager to get our additional orders. The duck was already ordered in advance. We also got the shrimp rice rolls, turnip cakes, fried rice, chicken feet, steamed short ribs and greens topped with white bait.Plates of scallion with mild chili and housin sauce were brought out before the duck that was presented with steam pancakes and then carved table side. After all the prime meat was carved the duck was taken to the back, cut up and stir fried with more scallions and a sweet, spicy sauce. The food was really good. My stepdad is a dim sum chef and my family eats dim sum a lot in Taiwan but we all agreed those dishes were really well executed and the duck was definitely the star and was huge! Two of us dont eat duck so the other three did our best but we had to get half of it packed up. You definitely need at least 4-5 duck eaters to finish one in a sitting. Our total bill came to NT$4100, less than US$26 per person and we were all stuffed. Excellent food and definitely value for money. I wouldve given 5 stars if the decor was a bit more modern and chic and if the servers were friendlier, but they were fast and efficient and quickly took care of all requests.
So many local people are coming. For foreigner it is not recommended.Expensive and no English.
The roast duck is still very tasted. But we were the first run between the dinner time. So when we went in and left were both very rush. Good for food but feel under pressure to enjoy the dinning.
The Peking duck is amazingly good. Some of. The best duck Ive had ever. The dim sum dishes are excellent and really well done.. Nothing seems overly greasy or salty...everything is cooked just right. This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Taiwan.
It’s a famous restaurant for roast ducks and Cantonese din sin, which used to be a restaurant recommended by me, but not anymore since my visit tonight. Now I reckon, it has the fame but not the game, food are just ok, not worthy for its fame, and most disappointingly is the service and time restriction (90 mins in and out). I believe there are a fairly amount of restaurant who do have better of everything than this.!
Good quality Cantonese Roast DuckEstablished over 30 years, offering traditional Cantonese Roast Duck and Cantonese DimsumWe were advised to make advance reservation as this is one of the most popular Cantonese Roast Duck restaurant , since we were there on weekday lunch time , the restaurant was 80% full. The Duck skin was crispy and meat was tender, served in Cantonese style, on top we ordered few Dimsum which were in typical HK tastePrices were reasonable, services was prompt and good (may be it was on weekdaytotal bill around US$80 for 4 adults of us.Highly recommend and surely we will visit again
Roasted duck is famous, others dishes are also delicious. The business is very good, so reservation is better, specially roasted duck needs prepare first for at least 40minutes.Its good for many to enjoy there.
The food is great, legit Cantonese duck, the dim sum are soooo delicious and the service was friendly and professional.
love the combination of roasted duck and dim sum together
The Peking duck is obviously a must, and one of the best Ive had. We arrived for a dinner reservation at 5:45pm and at 7:15pm everyone was asked to leave because they wanted to prepare for their second dinner service!
Great place to get some roasted duck and other Taiwanese dishes. They carve the roast duck by your table and also cook it into a porridge. We ordered one of the set menus which comes with a steamed fish, gigantic fried prawns, a pork slice and broccoli stir fry, deep fried pork ribs, fruit plate, and some delicious egg tarts. Not too sure about the price as I was invited by a family friend. Would definitely recommend this place to people looking for a good roast duck restaurant in Taipei.
One of the best roast duck in taipei .and Chinese food .
One of the best and, probably, the most popular Cantonese roast duck in Taipei. Even though people often complaint about their poor services, I have never been served poorly with my several-times visits.
They are famous for its roasted Peking duck. Most dishes are pretty delicious, but it’s very pricey when having a gathering in the suite. Service are pretty good at the time I paid a visit. It’s a must go place if you can accept its price range.
The duck is great, crispy skin with juicy meat. Dim sum here is just ok, the waitresses are friendly. The restaurant looks historic and vintage. A nice place to come with foreign friends!
Don’t go without making a reservation and pre-ordering a duck beforehand.Yumm... still thinking about their Peking duck, the crispy skin, tender meat, all wrapped with scallions and sweet bean sauce 🤤🤤. Congee is really tasty, dim sum just average. There are definitely cheaper and equally good ducks elsewhere in the city. But this place is well known and has history. Would recommend trying at least once, especially if entertaining guests from out of town.
Take my review with a grain of salt, yet for me this was the best Cantonese style food Ive ever had. Ill be upfront and share that Ive yet to visit Cantonese regions of China, but Ive spent a good deal of time in Mainland, just not that far south.Friend had reservation, and we got a 10 course meal including the Peking Duck. Nothing disappointed, and my personal favorites were the pork ribs and fish. They had a flavor that Ive never experienced before.Loved my visit here and would definitely come back!
Over priced food with an acceptable quality! A good place to go to impress foreign visitors, however, there are way better alternatives with the price they charge. Our waitress were very nice to us though!
One of my favorite traditional Chinese foods is Peking duck. Dragon Restaurants Peking duck is one of the better ones Ive had in Taipei, but frankly, the dim sum here is disappointing. Having visited Hong Kong, I think dim sum made by Cantonese chefs tends to be more hearty, savory, and oily. Service here is not good, but that isnt unusual with restaurants of this type so dont expect anything from the waiters.
Ducks just okBut service just ok!
Top notch Peking duck. Very juicy meat and crispy skin. They also serve it with scallions wrapped in a slice of red pepper which provides a very subtle and enjoyable kick to the standard wrap of 甜麵 sauce, skin, and meat. The scraping of fat from the skin was appreciated. Also really good are the other assorted dishes like turnip cake and green veggies.Very very good and highly recommended. Not for the penny pinching as the bill can run on the high side.
