Medieval fortress & monastery renowned for unique, tall, narrow church, plus paintings & frescoes.
A silent place
Super
Awe-inspiring piece of architecture, I was both impressed and shocked when I saw it, it is stunning. It is in the same region with the 8 painted monasteries of Romania part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, so it makes a valuable addition to the monateries trip
Attention, there is no water in front of , at least, when we were here, in September
The monastery is beautiful, fortified one. The church store had local products, quite expensive. The church is beautiful inside, especially towards the altar. The rating is impressive for so many reviews.
Ok
Superb
Splendid!
Superb!!!
Superb!
Ok
Nice monastery, little different than the "standard" Moldavian monasteries, with gothic influences on an Orthodox church
Amazing place, not so much people so it is very pleasant to visit
Very nice reinforced monastery
Very quiet, peaceful place.
This is perhaps the most stunning of the monasteries in Bucovina. Over half a century old, it is currently home to about 50 nuns who maintain it beautifully. A visit to the monastery shop for natural ointments, honey and other produce is a good idea. If you visit around 5pm you can attend the Vespers, a short service with beautiful chanting. We loved our visit and hope to go back
Very nice monastery
Peace for the soulMedication for the body
A very blassed place to go.
Nice monastery with a few historical expositions. Here is a craft tinctures shop - “ Dragomirna atelier “ , with a good traditional herbal treatments and skin care products.
Add this Monastery in your bucket list.
Outstanding building and compound. Unique architecture. Beware of locals who may be offended when one takes photos.
Excellent place to see and relax your mind and heart! Its a must when in Suceava county! Enjoy!
It is more a fortress than a monastery. It is worth visiting if you are in the area. It was recently renovated, everything looks brand new (except for the paintings).
Medieval romanian monastery with unique architecture having polish and georgian influences. The monastery stands out due to its unusual hight, uncommon for stone monasterys of the time. It is also quite narrow making it even more different. The monastery also has a small store from where you can buy religious items, pamflets and homemade sweets.
One of the most beautiful place you have to go.
Very interesting monastery ,it is completely refurbished and it looks amazing. The view is also nice and well taken care of. There is also a shop with natural products you can choose from.
One superb orthodox womens monastery,!
Gorgeous. The most interesting monastery from this area
Quite& spiritual place!
A very interesting religious, cultural and historical monument
Nice place on a hill, the nons are verry nice and the place looks astonishing
One of the many beautiful Moldavian monasteries. Looks well preserved.
Amazing edifice, beautiful architecture, great museum, wonderful surroundings. Peace and quiet, perfect place to pray and meditate.
Very nice! Worth a visit!
Very nice shop! Bio products and more...
Nice place. No painting outside, just inside. 5lei entrance for adults.
It is a great Monastery, it has also a museum and it has some defence towers that you are allowed to visit. Time stops here :)
One the most beautiful monasteries in Romania, currently being renovated
Still in works to be rehabilitated but a piece of art
Amazing place, even though it is undertaking a restoration process and you cannot see the church from the courtyard.
A real stronghold near Suceava city.
The monastery its okay but the area is lovely and I stayed at a really beautiful place listening to wolves howl in the night
Built in the 1600s this is a well preserved historical monument. It was recently renovated.well worth a visit.
Helpful ,hospitable, and knowleageable priest explained all there is to know about the place. Breathtaking scenery ! A nightmare going through Suceava following the crazy road signs though!
Very, very beautiful monastery. Theres also a lake near it, where you can have drinks and snacks.
Very nice monastery surrounded by a kind of wall in which there is also a museum of the monastery. The nuns sell tickets of 5 lei per person and 9 more if you want to take pictures. The church is quite well conserved.
Quiet. No entrance fee except for the museum. Taking pictures allowed outside only.
A quiet place with some really cool towers and corners to explore. Admission is 5 lei per person.
One of the most beautiful monasteries. One must reserve at least half a day for this tranquil place.
