94 Northcote Rd, Clapham, London SW11 6QW, Tombouctou
A craft beer pub focused on both draft and bottled varieties and burgers with names like 'The Poke'.
Went for All the Farm Sunday roast and wow it’s huge! Easily serves 3, so worth it. Food was amazing, especially the pork. Staff were amazing and really attentive. Only downside is the toilets could do with a really good clean.
Cracking proper pub Sunday roast. Awesome staff, nothing too much trouble and went the extra mile! Thanks team, we’ll be back! Big ups Cameron and Tatum
Staff are very friendly, tables are a lovely size outside, food was excellent (chili jam burger and garlic butter chips were Divine!)Lots of beer to choose from as its now a brewdog pub but also great cocktails and other brands!Standard pricing despite being on northcote road so could be charging way more!Recommend for sure :)
A nice small neighbourhood pub.Taken over by Brewdog but remains authentic with good beers on draught. The ambience and service was very good.A slight negative was the food. We ordered the nachos with chilli and it arrived cold. For the price paid I was expecting something cooked. It came out way too fast and was a bit of a let down honestly.A decent place, and worth a visit. Perhaps avoid the food. There are so many options locally.
Good pub, taken over by brewdog so a lot of brewdog beers on tap but have kept Stigel & Budvar which is good to see. The unlimited wings on Wednesday were delicious and staff were attentive and happy to top them up. Great service 👍
Great pub with great beers, love going back here on my way back from work. lovely staff!!
Great beer and cocktail hour. solid recommendation for the long island ice teas! Staff were awesome.
One of my favourite pubs in Clapham! Good beers, nice stuff :)
Good Clapham pub with interactive staff who are fun and knowledgeable. Great choice of beers and the cocktails were on point also.
How can an average Thursday be the best evening of my life you ask? Jade and Rosie is the short answer. Absolutely wonderful staff who go above and beyond, they just don’t make em like this any more. It was a privilege to be In their company and service. Not only fantastic mixologists but care for their customer welfare, safely and mental health. All I can say is thank you.
The staff were fairly rude, not very clean. Not the vibe.
Probably a harsh review. It’s a great pub, but so busy and expensive.
A pub on the Northcote road. Neither great nor bad - perfectly serviceable. Stools on the sidewalk for outside sitting are rubbish though, so doesn’t make for a comfortable experience.
Pleasant corner pub with good wines and beers. Attentive service and a huge outdoor space at the front on weekends as Northcote Road is closed to traffic
Shame as over eager doorstaff spoilt our drink said we had to sit down when outside and only walk around for 40 seconds at a time, bizarre.
Favourite local pub! Such a great vibe.
Good selection of beers. Friendly bar service. Was expecting slightly cheaper prices as they only serve their own beer ( like in a direct producer to consumer modelinstead they discount the cocktails ! Kids chicken burger was so dry and tasteless but adults burger are ok.
Excellent selection of beers. Great pub!
Quick and nice service. Smell from mens toilet was a bit over powering. We had great time.
Worse choice of beer since brewdog took it over (and sky high pricesbut friendly staff.
Great location for a beer, only thing kitchen closed early on Monday. Good terrace with sun end of the day.
Booked for my birthday with about a dozen friends. Great pub great atmosphere excellent staff. Would recommend and go again
Really nice brewdog pub...the food on the menù sounded great but wasnt actually very exciting
Good customer service Excellent sausage and mash
Nice atmosphere. The portions are way too big! Staff friendly
A bit tiny for a place so far from the station. None of myself and my 2 mates had any signal inside and we are all on different providers! The chicken in the burger was tough and overcooked. Beer was nice.
Only good memories with this pub - this is the pub where I first met my future and current wife! A good seven years ago. Spent so many evenings there among good beer, good food and great company. So this review is a bit dated in a sense but Im happy theyve survived the pandemic and will visit them next time were in the country for sure!
It’s not necessarily what comes to mind when you think craft beer. The pub itself does the job without fuss or pizzazz. The beer, as you’d expect, focuses on Brewdog. You can’t fault them for that but come on chaps, get some of London’s best craft beer….needs more Kernel and Pressure Drop.
Good selection of beers, and the staff were incredibly good - meeting us on our vibe throughout. Buuuuuut the food was not good unfortunately. Maybe it was a bad day but the Nachos were missing the chilli beef and then were served with ice cold squeezy cheese straight from the fridge, we ordered two portions for the table and we barely touched either - real shame for £12 per portion. Will be back for the beers and atmosphere, but not for food.
Came in for "Punk Day" had some cocktails on the 2-4-1 deal, Gin Fizz and Dark n Stormys. Starters were good we had Mac and Cheese Bites and Padron Peppers. For mains we both had the Chicken, Leek & Ham Hock Pie, served with creamy mash potato, roasted vegetables & gravy which was one of the best pub pies Ive eaten. The roasted Veg was excellent too. Didnt have room for a pudding but we did try some of Brewdogs beers the Stout being lovely. The staff were absolutely brilliant, attentive and helpful. We live locally so will definitely be returning.
We sat outside on the two seaters nearest to the street. As I put my drink down, due to the cheaply made tables with big gaps and just the front legs on the pavement (which they are bound to correct nowmy pint spilt all over my wife sitting opposite. Beer mats would have probably avoided this but wasnt offered any. Some really nice people sitting outside gave us some serviettes (thanks again guysI went straight back in and explained, they kindly poured me another pint, which had at least a two and a half inch head, he must have thought I already drank some which I didnt but I couldnt be bothered to challenge it. One of the staff came out looked and replied "its not too bad" implying that it was my fault. If you ever visit, just so it doesnt happen to you treat them particular tables like dartboards, aim before putting your drink down. My mistake was I should have asked for a refund to cover the dry cleaning bill but Northcote Arms well get that
Inside is kind of dingy. However there is an interesting selection of beers. Currently you order through an app which has detailed descriptions of the different choices. This would be cool if they have such random beers - you may actually want to talk to a human.
Sunday Roast.I have just eaten a Sunday Roast (Beef delivered by deliveroo.Bit of a last minute decision, but glad I chose this. The meal arrived professionally packaged with Meat and Vegetables separately packed along with a Yorkshire and pots of Gravy and Horseradish Sauce. The meal was superb, the seasoning was spot on and finished with some parsley garnish.I strongly recommend trying this venue for a traditional Sunday Roast which is great value.Well done guys..
Taken over by BrewDog in the last year. Charged £1.50 per person to sit down; taken on card at the table before we’d ordered even though they couldn’t do table service to minimise contact?!? Beer average and selection poor compared to the old owners. Staff pretty rude from a customer experience perspective.. may have been “on message” but was a poor experience. In no hurry to go back.
Top notch swift, friendly and professional service from Greg and his team, couldn’t fault a thing. Some lovely pale ales & 4 x 1/3s for £7 great value too. 👌
A must visit to anyone looking for traditional sunday roast with a great choice of real ales to wash it down. A perfect way to spend your sunday in Clapham. The high street is closed to traffic over the weekend in the warmer months, with a fantastic welcome atmosphere. The staff are friendly and good at making you feel at home. As a geordie family we are difficult to impress with a sunday roast but this meal made us feel like we were back in the toon.We shared the roast platter which was like a personal carvery allowing you to fill your plate to your own liking and when we could eat no more they kindly allowed us to take away in cartons which in this day is a great support to #LoveFoodHateWasteKeep up the great work and a massive thanks to Marcello, Dan and Carmen.
I went to the pub with some friends, we ordered few cocktails and 50 minutes later we were still waiting for them.We asked the staff about them (two different peopleand answer was they were very busy.Environment is nice but service not good.
Worst brunch Ive ever had. This is one of the worst value for money in London. Do NOT go there. £30 per person for a bottomless brunch with disgusting cheap prosecco and even worst burger!Only good thing about this place is its location. To the management: Stop! Some places are just not meant to be serving food or anything else other than beers. Youre honestly going to poison someone.
A very disappointing evening at this place. Nothing available on the menu other than burgers. No food delivery, apparently. The burgers themselves were like cardboard, both the meat and vegan versions. My chips were stone cold. The service was sporadic at best.I know it’s been hard for Hospitality and people are out of practice, but I don’t think there’s an excuse for being as mediocre as this was.Sorry, one star.
I had a fantastic time here,. The staff were lovely and so kind, All the roads were blocked off so everyone was sitting at tables with numbers on and ordered the drinks to the table,. There was a great party atmospheric happening.. Loved it!! 😁 😁 😄 😜 😜
Absolutely fantastic! Food was brilliant and the beers as great as you expect from BrewDog. Served by Rory who made it feel like we were in a mates place! Great service!
Excellent!! Maybe the most organised pub I have ever been to. Burgers were flame grilled, fried potatoes with no oil smell and cocktails in a new level for pubs, service was great, pub was full but there was always someone around you, I noticed a manager or supervisor standing all the time, talking and organising, always smiling and giving positive vibes.
Sad to say it’s really gone downhill. Visited with a friend on 17 September. We’d booked a table and arrived on time. Other guests were sitting at our allocated table. Our waitress couldn’t care less and we had to ask the other guests to vacate.Waited 15 minutes for our pints. Plenty of staff on. No sign of pints so went to see what was happening. Again, waitress was rude. Wrong drinks then came.I’ve fed back to the pub but didn’t even get the courtesy of an acknowledgement.Avoid. If you’re after a pint go up the hill to Brewdog, or if you’re feeling sophisticated head to Vagabond, where the staff are brilliant.
We came for lunch today and had a great experience. The lady on the door was nice and really helpful, my phone died so she did the track and trace for me.Great beer selection and food was smashing. We had the roast pork and beef, proper hearty grub. Will definitely be back next week!
After a 40 minute wait I got greasy chips which had been cooked more than once. Not a good eating experience
This is a really great pub for drinks but avoid for food, particularly Sunday roast. The food arrived cold and when we informed them, they just stuck it in the microwave, which made it worse and the potatoes were still pretty mush raw. If you’re going for beer outside, great! But get food elsewhere.
Slow. Horrible wings. Watery, low quality cocktails like something youd get in a resort in Spain (but £12)
A good selection of beers but the largest glass is served in 2/3rds so no pints servings. The choices of draft beers is good and they have a good selection of refrigerated beers/ciders too. This establishment gets rather busy so come early to secure a table. There is seating outside for warmer days so a beer garden of sorts.
A place for real ale lovers with outdoor seating. Order meal at the bar. Had steak and ale pie with mash, peas and carrots not forgetting the gravey. A larger than expected portion. Very nice. Food seating area for groups at the back. I sat opposite the bar.I tried the oatmeal stout as I am a Guinness porter drinker but did not like so tried the speciality rum. I work locally so will revisit for the real guest ale and a dessert. 2-4-1 cocktails offer everyday 4-8pm with special meal offers on certain days.Friendly staff and good cheerful service. Got busier as the night went on but not too crowded on this Saturday to have a local feel. It can get a bit noisy with everyone chatting inside.Located near Clapham Junction with other bars and restaurants nearby. Add this to your road trip.
Drafthouse to the rescue for Saturday burger cravings! As usual, very tasty!! Always great food and brilliant selection of beers. Service also super friendly and helpful.
