2860 Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507, United States, Santa Fe
Laid-back destination for creative, sustainable New Mexican cuisine & local brews on tap.
Ordered the "enchiladas" it was just a bowl of ground meat and cheese. Two flys kept me company during the meal. The waiter couldnt have cared less about beging there. Bottom line food is over priced not worth the hour wait. Go someplace else.
Ordered Togo to take up to the Opera. Wife had the Caesar Salad with chicken and I enjoyed the Green Chile Stew. Both were delicious. The dressing for the salad is as good as you’d get at a 5* made table side kind of steakhouse restaurant. Way to go again Dr. Field Goods! We started with an order of the onion rings which were crunchy, even though we had to drive for a bit. I seemed to be missing half of my tortilla to go with my Green Chile stew, as I only got half a tortilla. Maybe next time when we’re back, I’ll get the other half! Don’t miss out on the pizza as well, they make their own dough and pull the own fresh made mozzarella, really everything here is great. Leo (with the accentwho took my phone order was friendly and accommodation as well both on the phone and at the restaurant.
Delicious ingredients, the food is just insanely good. The burgers are rich & the pizza is authentic (maybe the best pizza I’ve had in Santa Fe & Taos?). Try the charred Caesar salad and the Xmas patatas bravas — also don’t forget to go to their butcher shop, very high quality foods!
We have been coming for years, and after our last visit. We will not return. Sandwich was dry, the brussel sprouts were salty to a point we couldnt eat them. My husband and I actually said we would have preferred McDonalds... Which we always prefer to go to local spots.I hope this was just an off night, because this place used to be amazing - but after spending $70 for two people, for a very poor quality, small portioned meals, we wont be back.
Great soup and green chili stew! The pizza is also very delicious
I guess they just dont give a crap about the racist graffiti that has been outside of their kitchen in Santa Fe for quite some time now because they havent even bothered to clean it off. Im sure the black folk around here love the obvious, disgusting stuff outside of this fusion kitchen.
Not so much a “experience” restaurant, but the food was delicious. The fine-in area was small and there was only a couple of people working when we went. We got the fresh salsa (possibly the best salsa I’ve had), the braised beef taco special, and a Margherita pizza. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
The green chili stew is SPECTACULAR, the best I’ve ever had. Service is very good and food is made fresh to order. Eat indoors to avoid the sketchiness outside but inside is great!
We came in a party of six and all left pretty unsatisfied. Two of us had fish and chips and the portion sizes were very off, with one platter having a full piece less than the other. Two of us had enchiladas which barely resembled enchiladas and tasted worse than they looked. The last two of us had mushroom soup which was very under-seasoned and brussels spouts which were undercooked. Half an hour later we all have upset stomachs. Maybe they were having an off night...
Did not have a good experience either eating in the restaurant or the long time spent in the bathroom after the meal... we should have known not to come to a restaurant with no wait time where every other restaurant in Santa Fe had a 45 minute wait.
Sadly this place has really gone downhill in many ways. I was going to write a review and then decided no I don’t want to hurt them more as I noticed there were some bad reviews. Then I started reading through some of the newer ones and noticed a post that caught my attention, it swayed me to tell my story. I just ordered takeout, after being presented with the bill I noticed my salad was more expensive than what was posted online. I said something about it and the guy said that they updated prices 2 weeks ago and hadn’t gotten around to changing the website. Ok dude, maybe you should, that’s false advertising. So anyway, the review I saw on here said the exact same thing happened to them and this was posted a month ago! Come on Field Goods, get it together!
Ive always wanted to like this restaurant but every time I go I am disappointed. Its lost any character It once had and is just not worth the price. Mediocre at best.
Careful if you order for pick up. Don’t get hoodwinked! The pricing is deceptive. The prices on their website are “old pricing”. I ordered steak 🥩 frites for 18.00 but at pickup they were 27.00!? I called they said their menu is not updated. Bad business practice.
I would absolutely recommend eating here as they have amazing, spectacular tasting food. I am not just saying this because they have been on an episode of Triple D. We have been to other places that have been on Triple D and they were not that great. This place is wonderfully great however. We went two days in a row because it was that good, and we wanted to try other food from there. I wish that I had tried the pizza while in town, but hopefully next time I will.
first time to eat here and will never go back, got the New Mexican sandwich no taste what so ever, the pho was horrible considering the high prices the food should be good, the guacamole was ok It should normally come with jalapeños, I had to ask for them. There were uncooked tortilla chips mixed with the cooked ones found that very odd likely a simple mistake but it was actually pretty gross. The noodles in the pho were definitely not rice noodles and it smelled and tasted like a dirty dish towel. I was very disappointed and as we were walking out the floors were disgustingly filthy, extremely disappointed Im sure they knew we were not happy since our food was barely touched. customer service was bad were not friendly, Im shocked this place even has good reviews??? The food has no flavor!!! Super expensive, its sad that you have to resort to over salting your food to try and get some flavor out of this food they are serving??
My Cubano was good, but my intent was to enjoy a pizza. However, they did not have staff to make one, so I would suggest calling ahead if you want to order one.
We used to come here all the time and loved it. The last two times have been horrible. Not clean, food ok…but clearly no care was given to the food prep. Lost us as customers! I wonder if they are under new ownership. There used to be a wonderful selection of beer on tap but now they only offer cans. Can get a can of beer anywhere!
Ate at the sawmill location, ordered the 5 alarm fatty burger and the blue fatty burger. FANTASTIC! bar none second best burger Ive ever had, and it was spicy! Most places just say their items are Hot, theirs are.
Really wanted to love this place , but it was just ok. First off they didn’t have any of their fresh made sodas, which I was looking forward to. Blt with the bacon patty was good, but just didn’t have quite the flavor I was anticipating. Green Chile stew was pretty good. I’d give them another shot if I didn’t live out of town.
Wide selection of food types! Our food was delicious. Service was friendly. Atmosphere is laid back and family friendly.
The fish tostada had no seasoning at all. Took like three bites and couldn’t even try to eat more.Cabbage, beans, and fish. Also $6 for a can of beer(not draft).
A must stop if you’re in Santa Fe. The food and service here is excellent! I ate the New Mexican sandwich and it was amazing! The staff is extremely nice too.
Terrible. One of the worst and most expensive burgers Ive ever had. First, the burger was under. I dont mind a pink burger but this was beyond that. It had no seasoning. I got the DFG burger and they didnt even put the sauce on it. $15 for a lousy, undercooked, unseasoned burger. Dont waste your time here.
Been eating here for years, still my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe! The skinny burger, the blt, the Cubano, and the patatas bravas are all incredible.
Carne adovada egg rolls are the best! Probably the best fish and chips in SF! We took the order to go, so cannot comment on the wait staff and service.
I liked the place a lot but the one item I ordered just wasnt very good. My partner ordered the BLT which was absolutely delicious, but the pho I ordered was pretty lackluster. The broth was pretty bland and it was lacking some key pho ingredients.BUT the service made up for it. The server offered a complimentary bread pudding that was really delicious. Id definitely go back simply because of this.
This restaurant is Tops! They have delicious, Healthy choices, plus some super tasty, Not so healthy ones 😋 Definitely recommend it. Unusual takes on classic appetizers, like the egg rolls, carne Adovada. Laid back atmosphere
Great customer service! We’ve bought meat here before and it’s always been great. Has an issue with some pork chops my wife bought yesterday and TJ exchanged them no questions asked. He even gave me equal weight but a more expensive cut. 100% satisfied.
Receptionist where I work had website difficulty when ordering. When she called, she was told that they do not take orders over the phone which would be fine had the website worked. She called and spoke with multiple people including the manager and was continually redirected to the website that did not want to work for our office. Im talking about multiple computers. All in all, the burger was ok. I ordered their 3-2oz patty burger but ordered it double since Im on keto nowadays. This picture is the burger I got. Not a double but ok. :Still an ok burger but I didnt want onions and I wanted another patty. Cant add extras on the website. As I was writing this, I was overhearing our receptionist call back. The person on the other end was very rude so instead of 2 here is a 1 star. :(
Excellent meal. Highly recommend the pho and the cuban sandwich was mind blowing. Cant wait to try the pizza. Its a small place in a strip mall but dont let the location stop you. This place knows how to make the meat sing.
Amazing! Leo was the best waiter. The bread pudding was out of this world.
Had the grilled Caesar salad with skirt steak. It was really good. The steak was tender and flavorful. The grilled romaine lettuce had the grilled flavor but was still crisp. Spied a pizza at another table. It looked yummy also.
The food is really good 5 stars. The wait staff was overwhelmed. At least that is how I am accounting for the cleaning of tables between customers. Also the floor needs a good degreaser. And clean out your tea brewer.
This restaurant would benefit from picking a direction their food. Not only is it bland, but its like they took a bunch of different ideas and just vomited them onto a plate without ever considering if these different flavor marry well. Ive tried eating here so many times. The last time I got their "Cubano" and I swear it tasted like they put marjoram on it. Whatever it was, it certainly did not work on a Cuban sandwich. And why? You could ask why about almost every dish Ive had here. The whole Santa Fe food scene seems to be a joke. And I think this place is the terrible punchline.
I was not impressed. We had tickets to MeowWolf and saw they were in the area. On their ad they advertise as a butcher and restaurant where the food looks tempting. When we arrived it looked questionable but I thought it may be a hole in the wall loved by locals. Shirts for sale and Guy Fieri “approval” on the wall. We asked to sit at the bar which had a half drank beer (which was not removed from bar for our whole stayordered 2 local beers and an appetizer (Carne Adovada Egg Rolls, not bad but nothing crazyand 2 sandwiches (one BLT which server recommended and a New Mexican). The potatoes were dry. The New Mexican was meh. My husband had the BLT and it was overcooked. I LOVE food and will typically scarf down everything I order, I took one bite of my sandwich which was missing something in flavor and the potatoes I had to dip in ketchup to moisten. I was left disappointed by flavor lacking food and poor service. I let server know I was unsatisfied and was met by a face that said “I can’t do anything for you”. I will not be back.
The company really only cares about themselves and not the customers. Years ago I’d eat here a lot and the commented on the tip amount that was left for a to go order that I called in to pick up. After that I stopped going for about 6 years. I just decided to give them another chance. I called in another order when they answered they told me they were closed when they weren’t closed for another 50 minutes or so. The service has always been bad here which is sad because the food is really good!
Dont let the nondescript strip mall facade fool you. This place is a culinary gem. A modestly sized menu full of bold flavors executed perfectly. Friendly, casual service. They have their own butcher shop a few storefronts down.
This company only cares about profit and not their customers. I’ve only been to their sawmill market location and they do not offer a plain hamburger without cheese or other topping so they force you to pay for cheese even if you don’t want it. I asked if I could have lettuce instead of cheese and I was told sorry we charge for everything here. I was appalled because I’ve never been to a restaurant that wouldn’t let you substitute cheese for lettuce and lettuce was $1 aa well l as tomato so plan to spend about $15 for a hamburger with lettuce and tomato because it does not automatically come with garnish. Just disgusting , I will not be back!
The Burger was delicious, freshly made patties and the potato bun wow, Excellent!! Now lets talk about the pho flavorless as if it was made with powder beef broth, the noodles of very low quality, literally the worst pho Ive ever had. A cup of noodles microwave soup would have been a step up from that garbage they charged 16 dollars for. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT TAKE THE PHO OFF THE MENU.
Loved everything about this place. Got the New Mexican sandwich and every aspect was spot on: the pork was melt in your mouth, the sauce was hot but not too hot, the cheese was sharp, the coleslaw was fresh and light (the thinly sliced apple in the coleslaw was 🤌), and the bread was soft and delicious. I also got the bread pudding and besides also being fantastic, the portion was more than generous. The staff were friendly and I also loved the heavy metal music. Dont worry, its not too loud! Its a shame Im only visiting Santa Fe, cause Id eat here all the time.
I went to the location in Sawmills at Albuquerque and I absolutely loved it there. The menu has a lot of variety and lots of different burgers which any burger lover would enjoy to have. I waited about 10 minutes to have a very well constructed and great tasting burger. Definitely one of the best if not the best burger I have ever had. I would totally recommend it to anyone.
We just happened upon this place as everything else in SF was packed! And we are so glad that we did. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, I had the burnt Caesar Salad and green chili stew. And just wow! Everything was fantastic. The pulled pork sandwich was incredibly juicy/moist. It was adorned with coleslaw and potato wedges. The Caesar salad had a wonderful Smokey flavor. The place was a great surprise. We will definitely be back. Great food for a small "hole in the wall" spot. Diamond in the rough so to speak.
My boyfriend and I like to try Cubano sandwiches everywhere we go and we both agreed that this was the best one weve ever had! The meat was perfectly moist, the bread was so flavorful and flaky and tasted homemade, and the condiments were all perfect. We paired it with a side of mushroom soup which was incredible and smooth, and finished with a bread putting (with homemade whipped cream of course). Staff was wonderful and restaurant was clean. Well definitely be coming back next time we are in Santa Fe!
Stopped by Dr. Field Goods Kitchen last Friday when the urge to give this place a second go suddenly hit me as I drove past it while on Cerillos.I had only been once before, which was not too long after the restaurant initially opened. I cant remember what exactly I had during that first visit, but I wasnt terribly impressed and hence why I hadnt been back since.Always willing to give things a second try, I stopped by before work on Friday (2/28around 2 pm to see what the good doctor had to offer this time around. The restaurant wasnt busy during that time and I sat at the bar near the window outlooking Cerillos. After going over the menu I decided to go with the fish and chips; after about, a ten-minute wait my meal was dropped off and I was left to indulgeThe battered and deep-fried fish sticks were five-star: it had the perfect texture and a noticeable freshness of flavor to it. The slaw that came served along with everything was the winning contributor, however. As it came with just the right amount of dill packed tang. Which is a quality most other restaurants lack as they tend to overdo this, thus resulting in bitter and subpar coleslaw.Service was fantastic as my server was both friendly and highly attentive. Though it had been a while since my last visit to Dr. Field Goods, Im glad I decided to make the sudden decision to stop by here. I definitely wont wait as long before I decide to drop by again.
Small restaurant and bar featuring a menu with a large variety cuisine. Staff was friendly, atentive and helpful.
The only good thing about this place was the music! Flavorless or too much spice. The service was bad. Got a variety of different things. Shrimp tacos, missing avocado sauce and shrimp was SO spicy. (and I like heat)The pork sandwich had zero flavor and the potatoes on the side were burnt to a crisp. Do NOT recommend this place other than to come have a beer. Do not order food. Over priced for LESS than mediocre food.
[We shared the green Chile stew. Amazing!also had the Buffalo enchiladas which were delicious and the Carne adovado egg rolls and brussel sprouts. Everything was great!] - original 5 star post.We just left and they no longer have the Buffalo enchiladas which is the whole reason we went back. The bartender was nice and the environment was relaxed but we wont be returning. My husbands enchiladas were pre-made and pulled out of the packaging in front of us. It was disappointing compared to the first time. Hopefully they can turn it around.
I have eaten here several times. The service is friendly and prompt. The food is excellent if you like fresh local ingredients. I have not had the pizza but the sandwiches are worth coming back for. Portions are large enough to share unless you are a big eater. This quaint eatery is on the far edge of the shopping center next to Cerrillos Road. DONT CONFUSE IT WITH THE BUTCHER/ BAKERY IN THE SAME SHOPPING CENTER. They are both Dr Field Goods but the butcher shop (which also sells foodis not the same as the Kitchen. I think the differance may account for some of the poor reviews. Dont expect an economy priced menu, my buffalo burger was like $20. I recommend the BLT which was about $15.
The Cuban sandwich and potatoes were pretty good, but overly salted. The pho was the worst I’ve ever had. Tasted like absolutely nothing. The table next to us had the same experience. I didn’t even take leftovers, but they didn’t charge us for it either. I didn’t even have to ask. They knew it was bad. Service was marginal, we never got refills on water.
10/10. Love this place. They were pretty busy at dinner but we were seated instantly at the bar. The bartender took great care of us and our drinks and food came out quickly. The drink selection was great and plentiful as was the menu. We were told everything was good so we made sure to get a variety of dishes. We got the fish and chips, the Xmas enchiladas and the house made fettuccine. We were not disappointed. This was some of the best food I’ve had in Santa Fe and it’s now a staple in my book. I will be back!
