Avenida De La Revolucion, San Salvador, El Salvador, San Vicente
Spacious museum displaying a variety of local archaeological, ethnographic & historical objects.
A beautiful museum that showcases the rich history of El Salvador. A lot to see and admire. A must visit.
Very interesting museum. Its a small place, however, very informative. Please support this site
Nice clean facilities, well illuminated and friendly staff. The exhibition is organised by areas of interest and tidy, unfortunately the option of a guide was not offered and a map of the exhibits were not present or available in was a very average experience
Nice and clean. Good lighting and many details.
Must see, from a Anthology point of view.
Great history
I love this small museum that tells about my countrys history and background. I had no idea of my origins so plan to come and visit as much as possible while here to continue learning.Easily access by bus, entrance its free for students with ID, a guide tour is available if requested. what an invitation. Thank you David J. Guzman museum and local government for making it appealing to want keep on learning.
Very specialized.
Insightful, beautiful architecture and well kept! My only critique is that the first floor installation seems a little outdated. But overall, wonderful experience!
Very nice museum. Lots of artifacts from Myan and even prior times. $10 fee for non residents vs $1.00 fee for residents is concerning for the value received in the exhibits. Highly recommend the English translator guide, as this made our experience exceptional.
Very well exhibited, maybe could be bigger. Worth every minute
$1 entry fee for locals.$10 for tourists.Nope.
Great place and historical place
Great value for the area. Im so American traveling alone and this area is safe. Also the desk speaks great English and offered hotel pickup for $35. Awesome. Rooms are not spacious, but all you need if you are traveling
Ok
Nice visit to the museum. Amazing to see how sophisticated MesoAmerican culture was!
So much information here Except you have to read all the information yourself. So much safety here. If you are in the city come check it out and learn about the history of El Salvador. Americans pay $10 to enter and salvadorian $1. Bathrooms are not so clean.
Visited on April 9, 2021. Closed still since the pandemic, all museums re-opened except for MARTE and this one, according to museum parking guard.
Really nice auditorium, nice surround sound and the ambiance was also fresh and cool. I really like the seats that have arm support to write and take notes. The bathrooms are not that clean though. Must work on that but overall, its a nice place to go to a hearing or presentation.
Not the typical American institution, but acceptable.
Excellent facility. The displays and history are very informative.
Very interesting place to visit.
Was very impressed with this museum. It was well laid out, had so many different exhibits and lots of information. I really enjoyed reading about the history and present of El Salvador and the region.
Great exposure of salvadoran history
Small collection but very insightful
Nice placed to know Do Salvadors history
This is the National museum of El Salvador. Excellent place to find out about their roots, culture, traditions and history. Very nice, clean, and secure place to spend a quality time with your family. The entrance is only one dollar per person, parking included. Also, theres a nice coffee place and a souvenir shop waiting for you at the end.
This is one place to visit if you are in sansalvador..
There is free entrance to one room of the museum with seasonal exhibits.
Wonderful to get reminded of how the history and culture of El Salvador shapes who we are!
Very nice place.
When you visit El Salvador, you must visit here at least once.
It is a great place with historical stuff. The guided tour could be better.
Its a must for everyone who enjoys history and culture.
Dont miss this attraction when in San salvador
Dont miss this excellent museum with well presented displays on the history and culture of El Salvador. Great exhibit on the impact of migration to the U.S. A nice mix of information and visuals to appeal to all ages. I loved the sections on spiritual beliefs, gods, and practices. Beautiful examples of pottery with shapes of animals and gods. Small but nice and well priced artisan gift shop. AND dont miss the chocolate shop, all of the varieties we bought were amazing! We spent 2 hours here reading most of the material, but you could enjoy it in less time. About 1/3 of the museum had information in English but the rest was pretty self explanatory.
A great place to visit. Very interesting information on the origin of El Salvador
If someone wants to dive into salvadorian culture, this is a must visit place. It covers in an easy way the culture and history of this beautiful country.
El Salvador has a past before the civil war
A museum worthy of a "not poor" but very exploited country.
Its a great museum where you can learn a lot about El Salvador history. I accompanied my brother because he needed to do a research for a project he has for his university. We went with my sister and sister in law too. We had a great time and learned a lot, take some pictures, etc. Inside the museum theres a survenir store, really pricey for locals I guess but very nice for travelers. This could be a really great visit for tourists that want to know more about our small but beautiful country El Salvador. Theres also a very good restaurante next to it where you can have a good time with your friends after the visit to the museum.
Excellent museum. So much to see and learn. Arranged in engaging ways, and good for all the family. Really great way to learn more about El Salvador. Nice gift shop too, with local crafts etc.
Excellent choice to know about our culture
Interesting museum. You learn alot about the history and culture of El Salvador.
perfect place
A great museum full of history of what is now Central America. Is a great way for local and international people to get to know the origins of El Salvador and how since the begging of time how the Pipil arts has influence up to this day the Salvadorian art culture. Is a place specially for local to trace back the indigenous roots and to be proud of them.
Nice place to see many old items.
One of the best museums Ive visited in Latin America. Plenty of info on the country. Take your time there!
Do you like history this museum, This museum will charm you, This museum has unique pieces in the world.
This is the place for history, ancient relics and tools are showcased by the tour guides which some also speak English, plenty of parking spaces available and not often crowded as it is not too frequented by locals.
