Awesome platter, this is the small, super flavored, I like the rice.I typically get the chicken here but thought to grab a gyro platter today. Ill definitely be coming back again for this, one of the lighter food options in the area. Its also incredibly quick, which is huge plus if you have limited time for a lunch break

This eatery spot has changed. It used to be Dr. Chicken shack. They are under new management. Their menu and prices has changed....but the food is good. The staff is friendly and they just had a grand opening everything 15% off.

My boyfriend and I ordered food from here and got an egg platter with eggs over easy grits and beef bacon. The grits had 0 flavor. They gave us an omelet instead of eggs over easy. Eggs over easy are supposed to be runny. We also ordered a grilled cheese. The bread was completely white, a grilled cheese should be golden brown at least, it was like it wasnt even grilled at all. This was the worse food I have ever ordered in my life. I am so disappointed.

This is the BEST shrimp over rice that I have ever tasted. We also got their chicken wings and its SUPER crunchy and juicy. No wonder the store called crunchy kitchen!

I had a fish sandwich and it wasnt good. The fish is boxed & you can tell.

First time here. Was a result of two other places being closed. It was ok. Kinda small chicken breast, but it was good. Biscuit was good and the rice & beans were ok, not much flavor so hot sauce is needed. The place looked clean and the one person working was pleasant.

Best chicken sandwich! Ordered for the first time last night. Got 2 of those with pickles. Also go 2 of the 2 piece chicken meals. I.asled for collard greens but got fries instead. They were awesome! Seasoned curly fries will be ordering from here again.

I love this place!! The food is delicious, and they have fried and grill chicken, which is a rarity, with the exception of Kentucky Fried Chicken. The lunch specials are well priced, and plentiful!!

Good food. I miss when they used to make pizza but their chicken is much better now than before. It was salty then. We prefer here than Popeyes for dinner nights. I do miss their breakfast from back in 2005/2006. It was really good. But now food is great only thing is parking is a pain to find when picking up but this is a must eat spot compared to other spots near and around the strip. Owner if youre reading this please bring back regular fries. Curly fries are more greasy has less potatoes and the little ones dont like the wedges because it doesnt look like fries.

What the hell did I just buy?! The food was a old, reheated, dry and crusty mess. I’m so upset that I wasted my money. The meat was hard and the rice was crunchy like it had been sitting to long in those pans. I will never go back.

This place is excellent the food is delicious the workers are very friendly I was one of their very first customers when they opened really good service and the cooks are great. The meals taste home cooked please try the Frozen yogurt and fresh salad

Its a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. The food always taste great plus the owner and staff are always professional and respectable. I usually order breakfast or lunch from there. I definitely recommend getting their fried chicken and biscuits, cant go wrong with that. After getting a meal from there youll definitely be satisfied.

Not my favorite place for chicken but it definitely has a unique taste to it. Most of the other chicken places in Newark are very generic, like they all buy from the same supplier or something but the chicken here is different in a good way. It actually smells like fried chicken and not like fried mystery meat.

Probably one of the most underrated spots in downtown Newark. Unlike most "chicken spots" DCSs chicken tastes as good as it smells. They have way more on the menu than traditional snack and dinner boxes like baked and bbq chicken.Depending on what you order, the wait time can vary from speedy to whats-taking-so-long. Not too bad of a thing as they actually care about what they serve to customers. Youre not going to get a half microwaved meal.I know they also do breakfast but Ive never tried it.

I love this damn place. There arent alot of good places to eat in the area, but the Chicken Shack redeems broad street. Great service, better food.
