Douglas Provincial Park - Park and Garden in Meadow Lake, Canada
Great park. Some really awesome sites with trees that make you feel like youre not on the prairies. Super clear water
Nice park in the heart of Sask. Canoe rentals, very beautiful park all around. A must stop if your around the area.
Our family always loves out time at Douglas Provincial Park! The sites are very private (except for a few), there is always great programming for kids, the sandy beaches are spectacular, and you cant beat the clear water. Food fand amenities from the Store by the shore are a bonus feature of this park.
The ideal place to rest
Fantastic park with each campsite designed for privacy so other tents are seldom even visible from your own. Yet they are close by. Beautiful beach for swimming. Electric hookup is 115 volt standard wall socket, not the TT30 amp ones that I could not use Portage Exhibition park. One of the nicest parks I ever have been in . Excellent showers. I needed this location due to the lack of fast chargers for CHadeMO between Saskatoon and Regina. But to stay here once was not a sacrifice.
Beach could use a little bit of work but nice sites, good bathrooms, has a store
Its a beautiful campground, maintained very well and the camp sites are really nice. A little disappointing that with all that water they cant designate a small section for people to take their dogs, but otherwise its lovely.
Some of the best beach in Sask! Not Rocky or weedy, super nice bottom. Has little beach, just a short drive away as well, good for those who like a little more privacy and those with dogs!
Very clean with running water and flush toilets highly recommend
Peaceful and lovely atmosphere to relax for the day. Beautiful scenery.
Great spot good for kitesurfing in all but an east or ne wind which would be off shore
Excellent Provincial Park near Saskatoon. They have great campgrounds and very fascinating Sand Dunes. We went there for May long weekend a did camping for one night. The campground is great. Toilets and showers area was clean. They had logs for making fire. There are not many trails except the lengthier Sand Dunes Trail which is fantastic. Tou will end up seeing mesmerizing dunes and its a great place to take pictures as well.
Beautiful, well treed, nicely maintained park with large spots, paved lanes and really nice hiking trails! Love seeing all the animals as well.
The walk in sites are very nice, the amenities are modern and fancy.
Nice park. Clean bathrooms in the campground. The one by the beach only had one functional sink. Visitor center was very helpful.
A lot of highway noise, especially through the night. The week we were there camping in a tent, there were a number of irresponsible dog owners who left their dogs at their campsite while they were away; thus resulting in a lot of barking. Will not return to this Provincial Park again.
Went 2 times hope to go again. My family and I enjoyed the beach and trails.
I absolutely love this Provincial park, and I have been to many in SK. The water is super clean, camping sites are fairly large, nicely groomed and most are pretty private. There are also so many trail hikes marked out you have plenty of options. Sand dunes that you can stroll down for hours. Sit down at the beach at sunset and the views are incredible!
The park is only good for camping, the beach is actually only sandy no trees or shades, also there are not trails to hike in this park.
I specifically came here looking for a beach. Though the water was chilly, this lake can stand up against some of the pristine northern Ontario lakes Ive grown up near. Thankful for finding this gem.
This is a great park. The infrastructure is great, there are plenty camping spots, and there is a shop to buy things if you need it. It also has a nice place near the water with a barbecue grill. It is very windy though, so bring a coat along.
Just couple hours south of Saskatoon you can get a nice camping weekend with all you need. The campsites were of variable sizes perfect for a tent and your firepit or full camper ready to stay there for weeks. The access to the water was a bit tricky but worth going down there to watch the sunset.
I love all aspects of this park, but you must visit the sand dunes. What a wonderful experience. After a twenty minute walk on the trail, which has plenty of trees and cactus, the sand dunes stretch out before you like a mirage. And remember, after a hot walk to the dunes, make your way to Lake Diefenbaker for a swim in the nicest lake in the province.
Great Campsite on Lake Diefenbaker. Many private treed sites. Lots of shower facilities. Beach, etc.Did some kayaking.
Great walking trails within the campground, nice playgrounds for the kids, quaint ice cream shop by the beach. The beach is small and could get crowed easily but we were there during the week so not too bad. Some sites are great and others are very wide open so it your can scout your site ahead of time, Id do that.
Not enough Picnic space but fantastic lake view,Beach 🏖️ area is also Small
It has a homey feel, very quaint and quiet and rustic. Cozy family atmosphere. Store at the beach with fvery friendly staff. Change rooms by the beach with bathrooms and showers. Hot foods served. Hiking trails to adventure, long and short depending on your interest. Activities planned by the staff. Night Geo cashing, cook bannock night, movie by the museum, museum, Amazing Race, crafts for the children fun for everyone. Great fishing. Disc golfing and an inflatable water park for 5 and up in the neighboring Danielson Prov. Park a short drive away.
I love this park. The campsites are large and private. Even when the park is full, it doesnt seem like it. Bathrooms and showers are well kept and clean. The interpretation centre is fantastic. I will definitely come back!
Went for a winter hike with my dogs. Couldn’t find any winter pics online so I thought I’d add some. Of course the water is off, bathrooms closed, etc. But there are many trails to walk or ski, places to picnic, and gorgeous nature to see!
The beach was lovely, firewood was super easy to find. Overall our camping experience was as expected! Two challenges that had to do with our site specifically. We booked the Coyote Flats group site, and it looked like a parking lot. It was a big circle, 80% of it was gravel, and there was little shade or cover from rain. We were also unable to close our gate (Im not even sure if we should be able tooand there is no signage, so many other campers thought our site was a road. We lost count as to how many people just drove in, at all hours of the day or night.
Great place for a family camping trip!
Lake is very nice. Good ice cream at the store. Showers and toilets are clean but dated. Camp sites are good size and fairly private. Nice hike out to sand dunes.
Very lovely sand beach. It has the most private comping sites. Most of the sites are filled and covered by trees. There is store by the beach. It have many beaches, I personally prefer the sandy beach that you have to walk a bit to get there as well as the beach by boat launch. It has a clean water to swim. The only issue might be washrooms that are that clean and the showers which arent that many and you have to walk to get there.
What a great spot! Camping, fishing, hiking, exploring - this Provincial Park has it all. We really enjoy the beach because its quiet and the water is shallow for a long time, allowing you to walk out, float, and splash around. ☀️
Park was fun till the hail storm. Cost me a tent and a truck but the worst part was we didnt catch any fish. Would still live to try again though.... In a camper... Or a cabin.
Huge Beach! Staff at the store were very nice and the food was super tasty. There isnt much signage to access the beach so we ended up having to walk quite a distance from our car after parking. Lake floor is very squishy but only has a few rocks and plants so I was happy.
Amazing beach! Incredible views of Lake Diefenbaker. Great spot to take the family
A beautiful prairie oasis and a real gem for campgrounds! The sand dunes are worth the hike in and the walking trails around the lake are lovely.
Such a lovely place. Been coming here for 30 years and hope to spend another 30. Great place to bring your family, go golfing or swimming and kick back at night with a campfire. Will always suggest coming here!
Great place to camp or just spend the day, all services offered and a town is nearby for shopping or restaurants.Wild Saskatoon berries are plentiful in the area.
Not a very hospitable place to visit for just a day picnic. There were no picnic tables and only a very small beach a walk aways from the parking lot. Not sure what its like for camping, it seemed very busy in the campgrounds. The beach was packed and the only other way down to the water is down a dangerous cliff of rocks. The water (once you get to itis very beautiful, Sandy and clear.
We love going here in the summer. Camp sites are awesome. Its nice to actually want to be in the water because its clean here. Clear as can be. Perfect for the kids because its so shallow a long ways out. The little food stop was good here to. Highly recommend.
I took my dog camping there for 3 days and had a great time. There are plenty of trails to hike in the area, the water is clean and there are sandy beaches all around, plus the sand dunes are close by for exploration. There is plenty of wildlife to watch for, good fishing and the campsites are well kept.
Love it! Usually the fishing is awesome. Nothing to do but beach & bike ride otherwise. No rec center activities, no mini golf, no restaurant of any kind other than the store by the shore. Water is clean & clear except for boat gas & a bit of algae if its windy. Fish taste clean and great if you catch any.
A lovely park, lots of showers, bathrooms and on the July long weekend, I found it to be very quiet (surprisinglyafter 11pm. Sand dunes were a little disappointing but still cool nonetheless. 10/10 will return again. The lovely town of Elbow is a short drive away. dont miss out on visiting there.
Always a great experience to stay at this campground. We dont even have a favourite site, almost all are great. We love that there is a (very goodconcession for food, ice cream etc and camping/fishing supplies. Lake Diefenbaker is very clear and you can walk in far. There are beautiful walking trails, we finally did the Juniper trail on the other side of the road. At dusk we often go watch the sunset or look for deer near the campground. Never a dull moment!
Smallish campground with smallish sites. Not my favourite but I wouldnt not go there if everyone else wanted to go there. Theres a playground for the kids and the beach is decent. You dont want to end up in the overflow camping, though. Big open field with no privacy and no shade.
My favorite. Water level has gone down but lots of beach and easy to find privacy along the water. Good idea to book a spot we usually get stuck with overflow but I kind of prefer it. Campsites seemed clean and water was clear.
Was super windy. Beach is nice and there was a small store and park right off the beach. The docks were closed when we were there and that beach was beautiful! Had to look for the walking trails. Loop was 4km.Camp sites look nice. The ones closer to the water were more open, but if you went further back from the shore they were nicely wooded and more private.Across the way is the Dunes interpretive centre. The walk to the dunes is 2.85km and then back, but its a definite MUST see!
Sites nice and private. Showers are a little far, but not that big of a deal when youre camping. We were pretty happy to find that firewood is provided and easy to find.Great place to ride bikes, we took the trail to the dunes and it was a great ride, and much faster than walking.Pretty nice beaches, a bit of a walk from our campsite, but easy to bike or drive to.
