Dos Amigos - Mexican restaurant in Winnemucca, United States
Great food and service! For sure I will go again!
It was good. Not quite what I thought it was but the meal I had was really good. The waitress was kind of snooty. Needs help in the customer service department. But it was pretty good.
Margarita tasted like syrup and waitress walked by 50 times before asking how I was doing
A small Mexican food place in Winnemucca … good place to stop, eat (and refuel next dooron a road trip from SF Bay Area to Salt Lake City!
I was so disappointed my food 😩 was cold and the sauce on my chili Relleno tasted like Tomato paste. We lived here 7 years ago and the food was great was told it is a new cook so i think you need to start looking for a norther 😥
great tortilla soup! my family really enjoyed this place and will be eating here again for sure!
The rice was flavorless, the beans were verily there but floating in very hot sauce, they changed the prices of the menu increasing them. Watch your receipt - They didnt apologize but got mad and changed it. The chips were old, stale and in a tiny basket., etc etc. Awful!
Quick stop but WOW great food and great drinks will be a stop on my next road trip
Great food, fast service, plate was steaming hot when it arrived.
The first staff told us there was nothing GF on the menu. Spoke to someone that knew more and they informed us that there was options. The portions are huge for the price you get. The food came out hot and tasty a must stop by if you are in town.
I ordered fajitas and they were done in 3 minutes the beef is dry the chicken was dry and you couldnt chew it total waste of money in my book food was not fresh at all
The food is delicious. The help is very helpful. And very kind. They also remember us as friends. It was a very enjoyable experience once again
Food was good, but tortillas were not very good. The salsa and chips to begin the meal were quite tasty, and the food was served very quickly. I got the carne asada with shrimp, and the shrimp were not peeled or de-legged. However, the meal was good.
The fajitas were wonderful with homemade doritos, good stuff
Stopped a couple of days ago for lunch. Fish taco were Great. Fish was perfectly deep fried so the coating was crispy and the fish was not overcooked. Served in a crisp shell and topped with the proper amount of coleslaw. Good meal at a fair price.
Excellent food and service! Very glad I came here 👍
Awesome food great service and no wait time... my waitress alexis and the busboy manuel are great quick and on point.... definitely recommend to anyone
Excellent food!! Fast and friendly service. Ice cold draft beer. Great place to eat!
Passing through Winnemucca we had dinner here. Wait staff was awesome. Food was delicious. Has a nice outdoor patio. We loved our meal!
A great place for lunch or dinner. Love the Taekwondo tacos. Fish tacos are excellent as well. Service is always good.
Get food to go often. The real deal! Great menu.
The food was delicious, the service was great!
I had a very good shrimp cocktail it was big too.
Camarones were fewer, as expected (covid, Biden, gas), but even more stingy with the veggies. Taco salad consisted of a giant pile of taco meat, runny guacamole, and a sprinkle of salad - it was supposed to be a SALAD, but was more like HB in guacamole gravy. I know its tough, but please. SOooo not going out anymore.
It was good. Nice atmosphere. Definitely more higher end Mexican restaurant. Just my opinion.
Good food. Large portions. Good prices.
This was a pleasant surprise while in Winnemucca. It was attached to the Holiday Inn so was able to just walk to it.The staff were very friendly, the food was served hot & in a timely manner & was reasonably priced.Highly recommend if your in Winnemucca, NV.
We stopped in for lunch, it was not crowded and we were seated immediately. It was very refreshing to get real pinto beans with our salsa and chips. Ordered their enchiladas (both chicken and beefwith rice and refried beans. Everything was so delicious and really authentic Mexican food. Atmosphere was perfect for a good meal.
Service was good. The tortillas were obviously store bought and not homemade. The tortillas were hard and horrid. A mexican restaurant should NOT have horrible tortillas. Pork carnitas were very tasty. Beans were decent but the rice was bland
Dos Amigos used to be our familys favorite Mexican place. Sadly its gone down hill lately. Ordered take out a few times, something is always missing or wrong. Dont use their ap or try ordering online, they probably wont get it. Last time my chicken was way overcooked, burnt, totally black, yet the carrots and veggies were undercooked, raw and crunchy.
I loved the service , and my waitress was fast and very good. The fajitas were pretty good, not alot of sides , not alot of salsa, nor chips but it was all pretty good. There is a trend among tex mex places nowadays where the fajita meat is cut super thin and too many onions and peppers take the place of what used to be a decent serving of meat. So, I would say , too chincy on sides and fajita meat. Although it all tasted good. The queso dip was nothing to write home about . It was runny w clumps. Mehhh. Disappointed.I give it all four stars cuz I know we are not in Texas, which is where the best TexMex can be found, and it may have been an off night for the better cooks. Finally, the house frozen margarita was absolutely perfect. Id recommend that if you like a good margarita.
Hands down best service in Winnemucca goes to Tonya. After calling around to places closing soon and being turned away we knew good old fashion Mexican restaurant will let’s us sit no matter what. It was a Friday night, 10 minutes before closing, Tonya sat us, and never pressured us once to leave in a timely manner. She timed everything perfectly for refills on chips, salsa, beers. After being embarrassed for pushing the limits of closing time to the max she let us know we were welcome. Yes we called ahead and a general man had told us it would be fine as well. Tip don’t go to wingers. We called ahead, they said they close at 10, we showed at 9, the manager told us it’s winter hour they close at 9, called me a liar and said we never called. Been t raveling for years you always call the last hour of a business posted time to ensure you aren’t ruining someone’s night. Should of just started with Dos Amigos. The Queso covered chicken and rice is amazing every time. Thanks to your staff. Just listen and watching them all work together was an art.
This place is a GEM! The food is delicious- the fajitas, shrimp ceviche and queso are my top 3. The spices in the fajitas are amazing, and you won’t find any better queso out there. Service is top notch- you can tell management really cares about their customers. Next time you’re looking for flavorful Mexican food, be sure to stop here- you will not be disappointed!
I just order 30 minutes ago and for me is really bad service first of everything the waitress talks english and she supposed to talk Spanish there is no waitress that talk Spanish they are supposed to talk Spanish BECAUSE it’s a Mexican restaurant also check your food before leaving to my order there was nothing good. Basically they didn’t put forks and napkins it’s such a bad service because they never listen to us and took the order wrong. Also the “green sauce” tastes like a pizza sauce it’s disgusting to eat in there, I wouldn’t recommend it never again.
Best restaurant in town! They have amazing margaritas and queso dip. Make sure to try their new menu items and adult drinks.
Super good Mexican Food. Very enjoyable and not too expensiveEnjoy
The service here was exceptionally fast. If youre starving or in a hurry and dont want to wait too long, this is the place to go. To get inside, you have to enter the casino first. I felt super sketchy taking my young kids through that, plus the smoky casino smell was infiltrating its way in to the restaurant. The portions were smaller than expected and the main dishes were quite dry. We ordered the camerones al mojo de ajo and carnitas de puerco.
Margarita? FantasticFood? ExcellentService? PhenomenalTime? In & out in LESS THAN 30 minutes. Granted there was only 2 of us but if you haven’t tried this place you need to
I got a spinach quesadilla for lunch from here. It was very tasty and it also came with complimentary chips and salsa. This is a good option for vegetarians.
Friendly service and good food this burrito was delicious if you like heat definitely worth a try and the 3 enchiladas are pretty mild
Service was amazing! My nephew and his wife are locals and eat here regularly, it was such a treat to enjoy this place! From the blue margarita to the amazing fajitas I ordered! 100% recommend!
Wonderful food, excellent service. Good vegetarian options.
Very impressive menu with diverse selection of favorites from Mexico as well as TexMex. Very good caldo de mariscos. Plate of condiments includes cilantro, avocado, limes, and finley chopped onion. On 2nd stop had the El trio which was fantastic! Pork in green chile had a sauce that screamed of authenticity. Beef in chile rojo has a hard hitting sauce. Chili rellano is spectacular! Great and friendly service. Excellent section of fine banda music played throughout restaurant. Family from Guadalajara, Jalisco.
I have no words to describe the authentic, delicious food Dos Amigo prepares! I ordered the (cheeseenchiladas supremas plate and their molé blew my socks off! The flavors were devine! The rice and beans were equally impressive. They definitely pride themselves with excellence. If you want an authentic experience with amazing Mexican food, go to Dos Amigos in Winnemucca, NV. You will NOT be disappointed. You will leave with a full tummy and happy tastebuds. Did I mention the helpful, friendly staff?? Phenomenal!
I really enjoyed this place, I got the Fajita Steak Quesadilla off the lunch menu. The Steak was perfect. Nice atmosphere nice decorations. Decent drink menu. Friendly waitress, fast service. I actually like this place better than Chihuahuas.
Nice serverPepsi ICKchicken overcooked and very dry.Vegetables extremely hard, or way undercooked..Salsa and chips and beans served upon being seated were good.Chile Verde VERY saltyQueso was the white 👍kind of cheese
Wife and I are truckdrivers and were looking for a family owned restaurant for dinner to help support during this time. Amazing food ! Pollo a la mexicana and chille rellenos. Very friendly and fast. But so delicious
Very good food !!!! Great staff will recommend 5 star service and place
Food was pretty good and gets 5 stars, however the service could use improvement as well as the margaritas, they were very disappointing. I actually went for dinner 2 days in a row and got pretty much the same experience both times. Nice place and wasnt very busy during both my visits however for as few people were in there my order did take a little longer than expected to reach the table. I will try this place again, but Ill definitely be trying other restaurants in the area before going back
Great service and wonderful authentic food.
