Interesting exhibition of artifacts and photos
We had a fantastic afternoon here where actors played out workhouse scenes. A great afternoon and we were lucky. Museum is very educational and worth a visit. Caroline and the team are very knowledgable and helpful.
Fab needed more time
A great asset to Donegal, the museum has loads of local history and changes its displays up to 6 times a year.
Good mix of life through history
The local history section on the second floor is well presented . There was a temporary photo exhibition on the ground floor of Travelling Families, which was excellent. Very friendly staff.
Some lovely items very interesting g
Free entry (we left a donationto a small but well run and informative museum. Forgotten Polish hero of the Famine years. Would have liked to see more information on Ramelton Village, Donegal a lovely place to visit - the 15th President of the USA was born there and Celtics footballer Mighty Atom also..8 others gained fame and fortune out in the New World but I am not telling anymore please go visit Ramelton.
It was a nice place to look into during an introductory walk around the town. The historians were very informative of the history of the objects and very friendly people. It was a nice experience to have during our visit to this wonderful town.
Such an enjoyable visit .
Amazing opportunity to discover letterkenny and surroundings history. The front desk lady was friendly and we had a nice talk about extra information regarding Ireland! Great experience, we hope to visit soon again ☘️

Old yet charming, soothing a must visit place.
Loved it. Very interesting and well done
Great place to visit very interesting
The museum is located near to the Letterkenny town center with huge parking space available. The museum opened in mid 19th century has lot of history and exhibits some artifacts to depict the local heritage. Very well organized museum with lot of information.
History lesson
Made to feel very welcome and took our time around the museum. Very interesting with some fantastic artifacts. Really enjoyed it. Definitely worth visiting, plenty of parking outside.
Very good and informative
Absolutely fantastic place to visit - lady who worked there was amazing - got my daughter a backpack of activities to do which kept her busy and when finished she got a gift - interesting and brilliant place to visit - definately worth a visit.
I went there to visit and in Google map, they mention they are open but when I was there door closed because of COVID 19, I dont really understand why they dont update their system and make people ready to visit them.Hope you update your system.

This is a small interesting museum, made excellent by the young woman at the reception desk who was knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

5 stars well deserved,thank you
A wonderful Museum thats free of charge with friendly staff and plenty of parking. Worth a visit.
Its a small museum but very interesting place to visit and know more about the Irish culture immigration. And its is free!
A cosy Museum, small but large enough to house lots of local history and from time to time has visiting pieces. This would be WW1 memorabilia from local participants for example.
Very limited displays and artefacts. Most exhibitions are standard story board style. For research of artefacts or information, would recommend Derry museum or library.
Was never here sry.
Brilliant
There is a fascinating exhibition running at present which illustrates the life of the gentry of Co. Donegal. It shows their houses, their servants, their amusements, their good points and their bad. It illustrates the ridiculous rigidity of their manners and conventions as well as the hard demanding work done by their servants to enable that lifestyle.Truly worth seeing and a great credit to the curator and her staff.
Good to have
Great local museum
