LGUs puts in a lot of effort for the beautification of the lake, but the park was left out with the renovations. Very few to no lighting at night.

I would say, this is the best attraction in San Pablo, you can do picnic with your family, have meetings with friends, enjoy the street food along the lake, bike, jog or just enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains. Proud to me a San Pableño.

Doña Leonila Park but for San Pabloeños its Sampaloc lake. Though San Pablo is blessed with 7 lakes, Sampaloc lake is the most popular. Through its circumferential road, bikers, brisk walkers, joggers even together with their different breed of dogs enjoying the fresh breeze of the air, watch the sunsets, dating and eating isaws(barbequed pork, chicken intestines, chicken feetwhile experiencing the calm view of the lake. Thanks to our mayor, and some organizations they renovate and put cement benches with beautiful landscapes plus elegant lamp posts that add more beauty to the park. I heard some stories that they met and become a happy family in Sampaloc lake. And I always witnessed lovers, family, friends sharing their moments in Sampaloc lake. And the lake just listen, blowing her air, witnessing those precious moments shared from generation to generation.🐝

I have been visiting this place for 6 years and I am still in awe of its beauty. Food stalls, restaurants, and resorts are available around the area. It is best to tour around the lake by bringing your own bike or renting. Bike rental is only P20 good for 1 round of cycling. It is also a good place to jog with a distance of 3.7 km. Fishpens can be seen in the middle of the lake where locals grow their tilapias.
