Don Vegan Restaurant - 100% Vegan et Vegetarian - Wine Bar Cocktails - Vegan restaurant in Lévis, Canada
FANTASTIC FOOD, wonderful service. My father in law, who is not vegan ordered the thai soup and said "this is the best soup Ive ever had." My husband and I, who are Vegan and travel / visit as many vegan restaurants as we can when were away thought this was the best restaurant weve tried!
Amazing food and great service! My boyfriend and I just visited Québec for my birthday and we ate here 3 times in just a lapse of a couple of days. We first ate there for brunch and it did not disappoint! I had an apple cider mimosa with a cinnamon sugar rim (which I look forward to recreating at homeand the Donédictine (their version of eggs Benedict*chef’s kiss* …. as for dinner we had the Fettuccine aux champignons, the Agnolotti, the Bolognese and Antipasto. The Fettuccine was definitely my favorite!!! But you can’t go wrong here, everything on their menu is absolutely delicious!!! If you are curious about dessert, we shared the Poor man’s pudding and Hazelnut chocolate cake. It was so good that I was tempted to order another round just for myself! So if you have the opportunity to go here, do it!!! You’ll be glad you did.*** also wanted to thank our server who squeezed us in on my birthday, (our last nightdespite having a full house and no reservation. His service was impeccable, you’d never had thought he worked the tables alone that night. So grateful! And cannot wait to find ourselves back in Québec to visit Don Vegan again!
Not really worth the hype. The service was slow and the atmosphere was just ok (it was quite hot and pretty noisy if you were seated inside). The food presentation was great but the taste wasnt as spectacular as imagined. Dine in, Aug 2021.
Let’s start with the drinks - numerous and wonderful options for mock tails and cocktails. Cheers to that! And food is tasty, well made and in abundant portions. Service is impeccable. Can’t go wrong.
I ordered the Don stir-fry, but the tofu was dry. I had a few bites to see if it was every piece, and found that it was.I asked if they could switch it out with another meal (my wife was having the general tao chicken and it was much tastier), but they could/ would not. The most they could do was provide a sauce, which unfortunately did not fix the dish. I mentioned it to the manager at the end of the meal, but he wanted to make it right by providing a desert or coffee (but I was no longer hungry). The dish also had a lot of noodles, and not so many vegetables. So needless to say not happy with the food quality nor the customer service.
You don’t have to be vegan to love Don Vegan. The “Donplings” (fried dumplingswere so good we returned the next day to eat them again! Over 3 days we tried the Thai Soup, Fettuccini with Mushrooms, General Tao (Tso), Bread Pudding, Cheesecake, Virgin Mojito Mocktail, and two brunch entrees. All delicious! Don: please move to Michigan. 🙏🏼
The coolest place, DELICIOUS work from the chefs and very friendly service. I want to go back again today. We had dumplings, Thai soup and agnolotti (glass of wine, cocktail and glass of beer)I’m in love with this place.
I came back here already a few times and the food was always amazing. Nice spot very close to the port.
The agnolotti and risotto were AMAZING. Just delicious. I brought my dog to their patio as well, which was great! Definitely coming back. Do recommend this vegan restaurant.
Good idea to arrive before 12 noon; most tables inside and outside were full by 12:30 pm on an August Wednesday. Or make a reservation. My meal of two entrées (appetizersarrived quickly. Cocktails, mocktails, wines and a few beers are available. Several items are marked as spicy. I really liked the dumplings (called Donplings- they come with a sizable serving of mixed-greens salad. The dressing on the Caesar salad is very tasty. Next time, I went at 10:00 Saturday for the weekend breakfast menu. Had a bottomless mimosa ($16and the Bénédictine davocat frit - filling and satisfying. Third time, I had the agnolottis and Poor Mans Pudding. All yum.Not an inexpensive outing, but very good food and worth it. Pleasant service in English or French. The website shows different opening hours than Google; believe Google. Or phone to be sure. Make a reservation for popular times.
Beautiful outdoor space and deliciously amazing vegan food. Despite the fact that they were busy during brunch hours on a Sunday, the service was great. This is a must try in Quebec if you are vegan or even if you’re not.
I’ve been vegan a long time and I must say this is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. Everything was absolutely delicious! The drinks were awesome! Very relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Quebec City , vegan or not.
Lovely vegan foods, beautifully presented. Drinks were so-so. The carbonara and mushroom risotto were delicious, a little on the creamier side than I’d normally make it at home and rather a treat on vacation. Big portion. We had an app and 3 main dishes for 3 people and wish that we only ordered 2 apps and 2 mains.
Great service and great vegan food. Spaghetti, impossible burger, général tao, and rizzotto was great. Staff was very pleasant. Great decor.
Last week on Monday we came to Quebec from Venice after a long flight. Our first dinner was at your place and it was fabulous. A lovely waitress and a great meal.Unfortunately on our first trip to Canada we didnt know how much tip to give and gave 10%. The waitress was concerned that she had done something wrong. I would like to apologize again and repeat again: the food and service was great!
We were unable to get a table on walk-in so we reserved online for the next night - and it was definitely worth the wait! Food was delicious, service was good and the atmosphere was very cool.We had the Dom Risotto, General Taos, Spaghetti Carbonada and Thai soup! Highly recommend all but especially the Dom Risotto!!
Fabulous meal from the panko cauliflower appetizer, dumplings to miso ramen. The atmosphere was pleasant with polite service. A welcome change to the heavy traditional Quebec cuisine.
We stopped in around 5pm and were seated right away. Food was delicious. We had the beets tartar and the spaghetti bolognese. Wait staff was polite. We would return for sure.
The food and drinks here are beyond delicious! We planned our honeymoon in Quebec City so we could eat here and we did two night in a row. The service is always good, the atmosphere is lovely and food blows my mind every time. I especially appreciate the delicious mocktails!
First time visiting here and It was delicious!! I can’t believe it’s all vegan! Would definitely come again and recommend to friends!! Best to make a reservation before coming to secure a table! Not sure how busy it is on the weekdays but I went on a Saturday night and it was packed! I had to beet tartare, agnolottis, and the spaghetti carbonada! For dessert, I ordered the chocolate cake which was really moist and yummy!! My belly was happy after this meal! :D
Limited menu if avoiding soy, and a little pricey, but absolutely delicious risotto & beet carpaccio.
Sunday afternoon brunch on the terrace was absolutely perfect! We both enjoyed the ‘Don’ plates with a side of fruits and coffee of course. After the meal we were debating on getting the pancakes plate…even though we were stuffed! Will definitely be going back to this establishment.
Not the biggest fan of vegan food but was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Good service, the patio is nice with a good view. Would guve 4.5 stars if I could but docking a star as our main courses took a long time to come out
We have visited twice so far in two days. Brunch and dinner. Highly recommended!! We enjoyed immensely!
Very nice location, our server was courteous and polite as well. The entree dumplings were amazing. In the main course the General Tao Tofu and Carbonada was delicious. The cocktails are great but skip the mocktails. It took them a long time (over 30 mins.to get from entree to mains.
I am from New York. We have a lot of Vegan restaurants; I would rank Don Vegan as one of the best. We went for brunch on Sunday. Delicious food. The service was excellent. I hope they come to New York City. I want to thank the owner and the staff for an extraordinary culinary experience.
Fantastic, inventive food. Great drinks and friendly service. We loved the cauliflower and I loved the Malibu Stacy cocktail. Weve been twice in three days and will go back again. Highly recommended!
Le Don proves to me that some vegan dishes just won’t ever be worth the dollar sign attached.Great appetizer with the cauliflower bites. The burrito bowl for $26, however, was a huge letdown. Rice, jackfruit, avocado, and baby spinach with tortilla chips, does not a $26 burrito bowl make.My girlfriend got the bibimbap, and she was also let down by just how pricey it was ($28for what was mostly just vegetables in a bowl. I think the menu has a lot to offer, and we just chose things that weren’t quite up to par. The rest of the food that we saw from other tables looked great. The desert was fine (cheesecakeand the Vegan Bloody Caesar was actually, probably, the best I’d had in my entire weekend in Quebec City! Give this place a try, but ask the waiters for their recommendations. I wish we had done the same!
The best Vegan food in Quebec City. Went twice in one day. Delicious 😋. Had the platter, bipimpa, risotto and yummy desserts. The dumplings tho are the best.
A fabulous fine dining restaurant. Perfect for vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians, but great for anyone who loves flavourful, interesting food. Licensed but they also sell interesting non-alcoholic drinks.
Delicious! Vegan or not, it is a wonderful meal in a nice, clean, atmosphere.
Great fully vegan restaurant in the middle of Old Quebec! I read reviews beforehand so I knew that their spicy dishes werent labeled as such, but I did mention to my server that I didnt want anything spicy and he made sure I got what I wanted and advised me the delicious donplings might be a little too spicy for me. I ordered and LOVED the Carbonada spaghetti and Poor Mans Pudding, a traditional Quebecois dessert gone vegan! And the water is fresh from Canada, not the tap! Just a warning that if you want to bring your kids here, the music can be explicit at times, which I wish they would change to make it a bit more family friendly.
One amazing place amidst gigantic French cuisine. Its very special and we loved being there. My husband was very curious to go back again on the next day. We called and had a reservation. People are very friendly. Food was mind-boggling. Havent tasted anything like this before. Vegan food, didnt felt like vegan at all. Very tasty and desert was amazing. Dont miss to try Don signature dishes.
I had high expectations after reading the reviews but unfortunately I was left quite disappointed.First, the food: both the DONplings and the Beet Tartar were much spicier that I expected. I can handle some spice but even my partner (who loves anything spicysaid that they should have put a spice warning on the menu. The Panko Cauliflowers were pretty good though, but waaay to much for a starter! Next, the Don Sauté was horrible: it was described by the waiter as a Pad Thai but clearly only in resemblance because the Thai taste was not there. Im not sure what it was about it, but I couldnt eat it after a few bites. My partner and I usually share half half all the dishes at restaurants so I also had a chance to try the Agnolotti. They were quite good overall, but they were drowning in an overpoweringly creamy sauce which made the dish way to heavy. Being Italian, I dont expect the same level of food quality outside Europe, but my experience was definitely not worth the expensive bill. I understand that Quebec City is pretty expensive, but I ate much better at Pizzeria Polina and Chez Victor for a fraction of the price. And its also not my intention to criticize a vegan restaurant, because being vegan myself, I always want to support likeminded businesses. I would like this review to be taken as a constructive criticism from someone who is well travelled and knows her way around food and knows how to distinguish pretentious from original and authentic.Lastly, the service was not extraordinary. I understand that in North America, where waiters need to "earn" their tips, they are usually too much in your face with asking you how is everything going. However, our waiter would pass by our table while our mouths were full, asking with hurry if "everything was alright" without even waiting for the answer because he was already gone. Either dont ask anything or ask once or twice but genuinely interested in the answer. All in all, dont build up your expectations as I did. If youre ready and willing to spend a lot of money, go ahead and try it, but dont feel bad if you dont. And for the restaurant management: innovation in food is good, but up to a point. Dont try to create innovative dishes or do fusion cuisine without keeping some of the original flavors.
Amazing dinner! The Cauliflower in Panko was delicious, the Spaghetti Bolognese and Ceasar and the Don Risotto were amazing and the Poor Mans Pudding was one of the best things Ive ever tasted!
Definitely one of the top restaurants in Quebec City. From the trendy vibe to the exquisite food, this restaurant is top quality. All of their dishes have unique flavours with a diverse cuisine choice to match your cravings. My girlfriend and I had the Mushroom fettuccine which was delightfully rich and creamy, and also the Bibimap bowl which was a beautiful mix of vegetables in an fantastic Korean sauce.Vegan or not, anyone would love this restaurant.
An absolute must if you’re vegan/ vegetarian traveling through Québec. We ate here four times the 3 days we were in town! The food was beautifully presented, the Caesar salad is possibly the best I’ve ever had, and the service was spectacular. I really don’t know what we would have done without this place, because there are not a lot of veg options in town. Luckily they deliver spectacular vegan fare and make you feel right at home. We loved everything about this place.
Really nice menu here. Many good choices. The impossible burger and the burrito bowl were fantastic! Nice to see a place like this in Quebec city. Its a change of pace from the typical style of Quebec cuisine, thats more rich and meaty. Great flavoured dishes here, and its a great and healthier dining choice.
Don Vegan was great! Gorgeous patio, nice staff, and the food was incredible. We got the plate of appetizers and YUM. The dumplings in particular are amazing, but honestly the whole plate was delicious. It was a bit expensive and I wish there had been more, but particularly because it was so good!
Probably the best dumplings I have ever had. Service was excellent, friendly and genuine. Unique deserts and menu. Fantastic .
One of the finest dining experiences Ive had. Best in class service complemented by yummy food. Our waiter Jonathan was so sweet and walked us all the way through this culinary experience. A huge shout out. Loved the burrito bowl, the Donplings, and the Ravioli.
lovely vegan restaurant, the ambience is very modern and cohesive. The food crew and the service was great, they worked really well as a team and catered to my dietary restrictions/questions. We had the Donplings, Carbonada & Agnolottis. Finished off with the gauteau du chocolat. 🌱 recommend to anyone visiting Old Quebec.
One of my favourite restaurants in Quebec city. The food and service is mind blowing. One of the highlights of this restaurant is its location and the patio seating. We had a street artist playing his guitar on some classics with the buildings of old Quebec city.We ordered the following items. The DONplings were so tasty that I wanted to order a few more plates just for myself. The burrito bowl was finger-licking good with home-made nachos and jackfruit (perfect vegan replacement for chicken). Finally I ended my meal with mochi (they had the perfect flavours - hazelnut chocolate and passion fruitwhich I devoured in the end 😋🤤The icing was the service and the kind servers who were so helpful to help guide us in making the right selection. Can’t recommend this place enough
So good!! We spent the day in Quebec just to try this restaurant and it was worth it. Great service, really nice people and ambiance, and the food was excellent. Theres alot of options on the menu which is nice. The dumplings are sososo delicious, 10/10 recommend this restaurant :)Thank you everyone at Don Vegan!
A must-go for vegans and non-vegans alike. While my partner eats primarily vegan and I do not, I think I may have enjoyed my meal more than she did! We came for lunch and both had the Impossible Burger. It was delicious and spiced to perfection. Definitely a meal worth making a reservation for to ensure you get a table.Important to note that their full menu is only available in the evening so if you’ve got your mind/stomach set on something you’ve seen on the menu online, come for dinner. Even so, we were not disappointed by our meal.
Amazing place to have a great vegan meal. They have a separate breakfast menu, which I couldnt find on the website. Mainly because, I believe, we went on the only day of the week, Sunday, when it opens at 9 instead of the usual 11. We started off with a long espresso and a cappuccino. The meal included Traditionnel, Gruau and Donedictine Davocat Frit. Traditionnel is the classic breakfast with a Scrambled Tofu, two strips of tempeh, some fruits, toast and diced potatoes. Gruau is granola with some berries and yogurt (vegan). Donedictine Davocat Frit is a replica of eggs benedict with some fruits and diced potatoes. Loved all three of them. The staff is great and very friendly. There are a couple of parking spots near the restaurant including street parking and some paid parking lots.Definitely recommended!
Absolutely one of the most delicious vegan places I’ve ever been! Try the appetizer dish for two - it’s filling and satisfying and absolutely yummy. The drinks are great too. Definitely a must-taste in Quebec City - and the location is really prime.
Great vegan spot in the old port of Quebec City. Nice ambiance and decor, love the vibe. We had the DONplings and the Beet Tartar for entrees and they were delicious. I would come back just for the Beet Tartar! The accompanying salad was also amazing. For Mains we ordered the Bibimbap and Burrito Bowl. The Bibimbap was good but they were out of kimchi, the Burrito Bowl was also very nice but could’ve used maybe a vegan sour cream or a guac, but that’s just my opinion. It was very tasty! We ordered the don cake (berry cheesecakeand chocolate cake for dessert. Both delicious. My only complaint would be the price of the mocktails, considering there’s no alcohol, $10-12 is a bit expensive.
This may have been the best meal we had during our whole stay in Old Quebec. Vegan or Non-Vegan seriously everyone will enjoy this restaurant. Quick service and the atmosphere was beautiful as we sat on the patio and enjoyed the historic city around us. Cannot wait to come again and enjoy a wonderful meal.
Went to Quebec on a roadtrip yesterday to try the @don.vegan restaurant 😍If you haven’t yet, you absolutely need to go. It was my second time, first time was for lunch, and it compares to some of the best vegan restaurant here in Montreal. From the ambiance to the decors, everything is classy and cozy. And let’s talk about the food 🤤 we couldn’t decide, we wanted to try it all ! We ended up taking :•Antipasto for 2 (even if we were 3, the plate is pretty bigit’s a mix of multiple plates and sides ; beets tartar, caesar salad, cauliflower chicken, guacamole, dumplings and agnolotti, everything was amazing !!•we also took the Donplings side cause they are sooo good, perfectly spicy•and cause the agnolottis was so good in the entrée, I took it as my main ; pasta stuffed with creamy cashews with a white wine sauce•and for dessert I had the pudding chômeur which was really good tooSo yeah only good comments about this place✨ will def go back if I’m in town🖤Follow me on IG @missnarciss for more vegan food reviews 🌱🌱
