Don Cherry's Sports Grill in Smithers

I had a tribble experience tonight (Sep 1with my food which was rib. It was such a low quality meat and the way it was prepared it was so tasteless, that I would not have rib ( my favourite dish for months until this bad taste is gone from my mouth. Also the side salad and veggies were quite stale.I wish I could rate as Zero star but Google does not allow no star rating.

Server were very fast and genuine. That guy was handling every order on table around. He is worthy of appreciation for his service. This five star rating is for him.

Went thete for my birthday lunch it was really delicious I like the food there

Stopped twice for breakfast. Service is slow but they look understaffed, as is most of Smithers restaurants and shops.Last (finalvisit, table of 4 and we all ordered the same thing. My order was half the size of everyone elses. Not coming back.

Meals were very good

Order beer battered fish for take out. Great portion, fries was nice and crispy, chowder was interesting, fish could use little more salt.

Portions are meek, the beef dip was pretty small and side oder was almost non existing

Franchise pub located in hotel. High prices for food offered, and quality was not great. Staff were friendly and helpful though.

I try to stay away from leaving bad reviews…But I’m going to bed hungry after a 14 hour day and I have a 4 am wake up, if your wondering what this has to do with your company, check in on your staff! I will likely have to stay at this hotel again, but I can promise I won’t be back to this pub

Food (fish and chips mealwas very good. Staff were friendly but we had to ask for a lot of things, may have been new.

Terrible service, okay food. Dont waste your time. Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience Ive ever had! The food took for ever.

I was skeptical at first based on reviews, but had 3 good meals here. Fresh ingredients and the hotel voucher made it that much better!

I found the food very good with the right size portions for me. The staff is OK and the place has sports on all the time good for a lunch or dinner.

Our server Elle was amazing as always and made us feel right at home and the lunch was delicious! Sorry no photo of the food because it was delicious and disappeared too quickly.

Good comfort food. But if your a vegetarian Id go somewhere else unless you do like natchos and plain salad. Cheese they use is cheap. Mainly deep fried or grilled.

The special was 3 piece fish and chips for $18 - which also included a cup of their clam chowder - absolutely delicious!! The 3 of us shared an appetizer of spinach and artichoke dip with tri color chips, oh so yummy!!

Waited at our table for 20 minutes without even being greeted. We left after waiting for so long.

Talk to your people about timely service. Aug 13, 2020 Thursday at 9:00am. Waited to be seated. Waitress said I could sit where i wanted( social distancing of courseI did.Then I waited for well over 10 MINUTES no service! i decided to leave.There was only 3 tables being served.I expected when i sat down to be asked for a drink with in 5 minutes of sitting down.disappointed

Food was great and bartender was awesome. Only knocks are received starters at the same time as our burgers and one of us wanted chicken and got beef. Last thing we noticed was getting charged for gravy that we never ordered.

The sports bar where you get the best of both worlds for food. Nior and Don Cherry menus are available here with limited food items for both restaurants. The staff are great with customers; friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Dons is the only place in town that has a pizza oven. The wooden floors and tables combined with muted chair cushions makes it an inviting place to dine.

The food was amazing and the waitresses at noir were very kind and helpful. We will definitely be going back! Highly recommended

After a bad experience here last year, I have avoided going to Don Cherrys. A group of friends wanted to meet there yesterday for lunch so I agreed. It definitely changed how I feel about Don Cherrys! The portion was HUGE (had to take half home), the service was friendly and fast, and the meal tasted excellent!

they didnt put the hockey game on the HD feed. very disappoint.

The service was very hospitable and friendly!! Because the staff were friendly the group I was with were able to all share a laugh. The menu serves for the day was well known which helped the decision making for good eats!! Thank you.

Great place to watch sports games. Uses the same kitchen as Noir restaurant.

Worst service ever as a guest of the hotel I went in for dinner and it took an hour and a half to get served.It was so bad that I watched two tables, one that was seated right next to me, get served eat pay.If you are on your own dont go here as you will just get ignored.And dont go there on a Saturday to watch Don Cherry and Hockey Night in Canada as you will have to endure the worst karaoke ever.Thus this place should get a 0 star rating.

Only been there a few times and each time the service was great for Saturday night karaoke

Fours years in a row The Prestige Hotel hosted Snowed In Comedy tour. This year I booked reservations at Don Cherrys (at The Prestige), for 530pm (show started at 8to meet friends and have dinner and drinks. Our order went into the kitchen at 545. By 7pm, 4 out of 7 people had their food. Infact, I ordered the crab dip appy and it never arrived. We were told it actually never got made. The poutine a friend ordered looked like it was under a heat lamp for sometime. You would think the place would have it together by now. Dont waste your time or money going to Don Cherrys for food. One star is too many for this review.

Service was good. Food terrible for the price. Was expecting more than frozen food from the no-frills grocery store. And the cook......wow, standing outside when we left, his clothes dirty, smoking, coughing, gagging and spitting on the ground. Just gross!!! Feeling sorry for the waitress, she won’t make a living at this place!

We went after some brief conversation about the relatively poor ratings. However, convenient and open made for a good combo.Honestly, Im not sure what youd have to complain about. Its a sports bar, whos menu punches above its weight, decor again, rises above the standard youd expect of a bar.Service was friendly, food was efficiently delivered, and most items where made from scratch in the kitchen, not some formulaic bar fare.Five stars is my attempt to right the scales :P

Showed up and the place was busy, but there was a big table that just left, so we sat down and waited for them to come by to clear the table. We waited over 45 minutes and all that was done was clearing our table without washing it. No drink orders or food. They started clearing other tables before coming over to us. We walked out and went to another resuraunt.

Delicious food, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. I would be glad to return here again.

A sports bar where you cant get the sport you ask for because they can not change the channel without the manager and the manager is not there. The food was average and on the pricey end of the scale.

Place has gone downhill over the last year. Menu down to 3 page faces. Selection has become high end with prices to match. $15.75 for a pound of wings. Only 1 selection of beef burger. A 10oz steak for $38! I can see this from a high end restaurant but not from Don Cherrys. Our waiter didnt even bother to inquire about our meal once it was served. Next time I saw him my beer glass had been empty for 5 minutes. Last time I patronize this place.

Chris (i think thats his namethe main server is fantastic. Incredibly quick. Polite. Will change the TV if you ask.. And makes the best Caesars in all of Smithers hands down!!

The atmosphere was wonderful, the alcoholic drinks I ordered werent bad one of the cocktails I ordered tasted as if they had watered it down. But the food was horrible, bland and tasteless. The fish and chips tasted like they had run down to the frozen section of Safeway and quickly fried up my meal. My friends pasta was very undercooked and the mussels we ordered looked huge but we came to find that only 4 of the 12 mussels we were served with had actual mussels in them. Very disappointed. I wouldnt recommended eating here. I know for sure I will not be coming back.

Need more servers. While the server was very good she was too busy and forgot about us. I had to wave her over finally to get another drink

At west coast today breakfast buffet was cold and awful. Server said she would look after and she did nothing! Dont go here!

Nice staff friendly service is the only reason a tip was left. Soup was WAY too salty, fish and chips had way too much pepper and the batter to the fish was doughy like previously cooked frozen and pulled out warmed and served. It was probly the most disgusting meal to have especially after a long day of travelling, pretty diasapointing cook I must say

Horrible food.... vegies were ice cold ... food took a n 1 hour to arive at table... vegtibale looked like there were out of a trash can ... steak was over cooked and tuff... service was none excitent... my company will never spend another penny there...

Will never eat here again. 2 hr wait for just chicken wings, and they were so salty we could not eat them, which is good because even after 2 hours they were still raw inside.

Wonderful staff & atmosphere! The French onion soup that I had ordered from here had been one of the best Ive ever had, which was a pleasant surprise!
