Set in the Old City district overlooking the Bay of Montevideo, this chic boutique hotel with an art deco facade is 1 km from both the Teatro Solís opera house and the Terminal Plaza Independencia bus station.Stylish rooms with black-and-white decor feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and safes. Upgraded quarters add Jacuzzis and bay-view balconies. A 2-bedroom suite has a living room and panoramic port views from the terrace. Room service is available 24/7.There's an outdoor pool and sundeck, a sleek lobby bar, and a relaxed rooftop bar with water views. Other amenities include a colorful restaurant (across the street) and massage services.
The hotel is centrally located, rooms are small but clean. Their breakfast was good, staff was excellent. Marcela and Gonzalo took great care of us!
It might have been cute and charming once upon a time, but staying there was a mistake. The hotel is seriously worn out. I mean towels with holes, old airconditioning not anymore up to the task of cooling and very noisy, pool with many tiles missing and so on.This is also the first hotel I have ever been that asks you to sign a paper that they will charge you USD 10,00 for very time/day you consume/drink something in your room, unless it is from the poorly stocked and very expensive minibar.Although they advertise "Home Made" breakfast, nothing is really home made and average quality.Worst is the open air concert venue right across the small street. From our room we could look right into it. As we stayed there during Carnival, we had a weekend with three events and another weekend with 5 events that lasted till the wee hours. And then a rock concert in the middle of the week. Noise reached up to 63-65 decibels inside the room. Obviously sleeping was impossible. We had a room at the front of the hotel, and at our request they moved us to the back of the hotel in a much smaller room, but the sound reflection was still way to strong. We requested for a room in another hotel of the same company that was away from the noise, but that was refused. At the end we left the hotel and booked another. We were not re-imbursed for those nights lost. Horrible experience and we will never ever return.
The name will say it all, great boutique hotel. Beds and rooms are small But with an amazing decoration taste that the service could not be better that the breakfast made for Ross it was truly delicious. Room temperature and heater in stall at the bathroom floor are super.do not think twice to book your room!
Excellent service, cleaness, breakfast! My room spectacular and comfortable! A big shout out to Flavio and Pintos! Thank you so much!!! Cant wait to go back!!Perfect for a breakfast business meeting. !! The food is great, all staff very professional and courteous!
Unfortunately, I cant recommend this hotel. While the staff is friendly, the rooms are not clean/ comfortable. You can hear the street noise (music, voices, carsdirectly from the rooms, and there were mosquitoes in our room that kept us up. The room smelled damp upon arrival, and there was no mosquito net in the bathroom window or vent... The wheat bread at breakfast was moldy, which sealed the deal for us.
Absolutely loved this hotel! The location is perfect, the rooms were clean and comfy, the rooftop bar was great for having a drink and watching the sun set, and the staff were amazing! For example: We arrived late and the restaurant was closed, so the concierge offered to order us a pizza and even brought it up to our room! Never met such friendly or helpful staff. 11/10 would recommend.
Beautiful hotel. Excellent breafast, fresh omlets every day made to your taste. The staff is so nice and will go out of their way to please you. It is located in the old part of town. During the day plenty to do. Lots of restaurant and stands with local artists. At night a little dark but pretty safe. Flavio will give you plenty of tips where to go and even will walk with you to the near restaurant to tell you where to eat the best fish or steak. We had a great time there. There is a nice little swimming pool on the roof and a bar. This is just a little jewel in the old part of Montevideo.
We came to Montevideo during the low season. The Don Boutique Hotel met all of what we needed. We cant speak to the pool or rooftop bar area because we didnt take advantage of them as it was a bit cooler and cloudy. The room was clean and spacious. The best thing about our experience was Gonzalo at the front desk. He was so very friendly and helpful. He answered all our questions, gave us recommendations, and helped us make a reservation for a show and a taxi. He spoke fantastic English which was so very helpful to us, as we speak very little Spanish. He basically made us feel like we were old friends who came to stay.
Hotel was clean and staff friendly and very helpful. Our room (#11was small and dark with only a window to a internal patio (and the view of another room). Not the best. The closet doors were in bad shape. The bathroom was nice. Breakfast was varied and abundant. The common areas we lovely.Three stars because we expected better rooms for the price we paid.
