Domino's Pizza Taupo in Taupo

All the staff were standing around talking and playing on their phones while someone was waiting to order, the place just looked dirty and the food took too long.

The place is run by teenagers. While theyre nice enough, they didnt let us know our order was ready, leaving it on the counter. We were waiting instore at the time.

Today I ordered 6 pizzas for my friends birthday party. All pizzas had rich toppings. Excellent fluffy dough. Also a very pleasant and professional approach.

Came in to pick up 4 lava cakes for desert for my mums birthday and whilst I was waiting I could hear and see what the employee at register was saying and doing, he’s a super polite and well spoken young guy, I asked his age and he said he was only 13, what a awesome young fella that made my night keep it up buddy.

Staff in here are pretty awesome. Went in one night the female manager was in there with two new very young looking staff members, she was serving, boxing and making pizzas all the while teaching these young men. I was in awe of her patience even though they were busy

Took a reasonable amount of time to prepare, tasted good but horribly cut slices. Some pieces were tiny, 5cm long and others where just hugely disproportionate. Not a big deal but slightly annoying.

Had gluten free bases, the driest pieces of cardboard, I do not recommend. Spoilt the pizzas totally.

Called for delivery at 4pm and the first driver couldnt even find the street and the next driver got to the street an hour later, but didnt have an eftpos machine, so now hes going all the way back to get one while i sit here with the pizza waiting to pay

The Worst dominos I have ever been to. The guy serving was on the phone to his bro and would interrupt me placing an order between every item just to chat. His mask was all the way down to the floor and the dude even sneezed in the open air. Got my order and it was completely wrong. Too busy on the phone. No customer service. No hygiene. threw my order away not eating something that someone sneezed on. $ 20 down the drain. just go to pizzahut

Food was okay. Actual establishment very dirty and needs attention! No customer seating?

Disappointed...waited an hour for our order...and then it was wrong ...person at till also not very helpful...dont even want to get into that..overall a bad experience from the start. I actualy enjoy Dominos Pizza but would recommend you to stay clear of the one in Taupo.

Had 2 of the large pizzas at $5.00 each was excellent value, tasty, fresh and pleasant staff.

Like the good selection of plant based pizzas, and great they have Gf.A clean place is always important, last time I visited was not so clean

Hard to hear and give order very noisy as calling out orders and they were hard to understand. We needed to eat in and tables were not that clean was concerned about hygiene. Food was very nice though and most people wore disposable gloves.

45 minute wait for two pizzas that came out like this I think not, I’ll stick to Pizza Hut. All while I’m listening to the staff bicker loudly at each other for using expired cheese and messing up orders. Seriously, get it together you had enough staff on to make it work better then whatever that s!!!t show was. When I asked where my order was the girl at the till grabbed mine of the bench as though it had been ready but just sitting there. I grabbed a slice in the way out the door which was cold.

Hated the experience. Got my order wrong twice. Workers were arguing among themselves.Waited 50 mins. They were getting other customers orders wrong while I was waiting.But they were very busy & they gave me free icecream as an apology.

Very busy, but waiting time was not too bad. First time trying Dominos, was happy with the pizzas, fries were a bit soggy and not as nice.

We ordered $72 worth of Food for Delivery. Order ended up being nearly an hour late. Driver certainly shouldnt be Driving! Very erratic. Food was rubbery & Luke warm. Highly disappointed. Icecream sundaes never came so had too ring them, eventually they turned up with containers all dented, 2x sundaes were only quarter full... I will be writing a formal complaint. Absolutely disgusted with this Service an would Not Recommend this place too anyone! I have photos & Im a Well known Google Reviewer & Food critic. Up your game Dominoes! Honestly theres No excuse for this poor service at all.

Very very very bad customer service! We didn’t received our food and they told me my phone number is wrong and they couldn’t contact me. However their driver contacted me one hour ago. They also canceled our order without telling me. Starving....

Regularly have issues here. If it wasnt for the fact that my son with special needs loves his pizza wed never come back. Went yesterday. Pizza due 53 past. Walked in 54 past. Told the guy my name. Looked at the 1 ready pizza there n sd sorry urs isnt ready yet. Approached a lady 11 mins past so after waiting 17 mins. She looked at the same 1 pizza thatd been sitting there n sd it was mine. I told her what the other guy sd. No apology. No offer to rectify the situation. All i got from her was "some of the people here cant speak English well" as if that was an appropriate reason to let me wait that long and pay for a pizza that ended up not being eaten due to the poor quality of it. Yuk

Went in but they had a 45 wait time so I didnt order, they let me know in advance that they were busy. They were friendly the place was clean just Dont know what there pizza is like. Hence the 3 star

Absolutely disappointed by the whole experience. Store untidy, ignored by staff, half an hour late for pick up (even though it was order 5 1/2hrs earlierno apologies, cold pizza. Would not recommend at all

Terrible pizza, was 45mins late and looked like it had been dropped. Called to complain person who answered wasnt helpful and said they would get the manager and the manager never came to the phone.

We ordered an hour in advance and the food was 45 minutes late. The tracking wasnt accurate. The food was cold and one pizza looked like it had been dropped. They hadnt even attempted to cut the pizza properly. Toppings had been thrown on. The person who answered the phone when we attempted to give feedback was rude and just put the phone down 5 minutes after they said they would get the manager.

My mini pizza had so much pepperoni! It was the best pizza ever 😋

Made an order, it was late, thats fine, stuff happens, rang them, first manager was nice, apologetic and asked for a little more patience, of course I obliged, rang back half an hour later (1 1/2 hours late by now...the girl on the phone was nice again and then the dh jumped on the phone, Im understanding to a fault, but this self righteous little plik, starts trying to blame the problem on me when it was clear the the delivery driver failed to follow instructions, pizza hut is better anyway, only used them because of those Dutch pancakes

Best service , amazing manager and you can tell because the staff are really cool. Best creme freishe vegetarian pizzas out !!!!! Ill be back in another guys and gals , looking forward to another fab pizza.... the new chicken pizza 😀

Love the pizza there I think its the best pizza place iv had YUMM service is good good speed according to how many people to serve service ok place could do with better cleaning understandable if gets real busy but I still go back for the yumm food 🍕😋

We placed our order in which the cashier seemed to not understand the words 1 garlic bread and 1 pepperoni. Took him a few attempts. He advised us it would be 20mins so we went away and came back I asked if our order was ready and nobody seemed to know what was going on. The staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than actually doing their jobs. I was then instructed that our pizza was ready but we were waiting on the garlic bread which I assume are pre made. Just require heating . It then took a further 15-20mins in which I became unhappy and asked about the garlic bread which had been sitting on counter the whole time. Would never go there again staff were hopeless no one seemed interested in the job or providing any customer service . Pizzas were actually ok but the whole ordeal was enough to leave me and my family all wondering what had just happened.

Poor customer service. Was disgusted at the cleanliness of the store over all. A very greasy table top that probably hadnt been cleaned for a while. Saw a staff member changing the fly station refill over a food preparation area really disgusting this surely should of been done before the store opened at the same time the greasy tables were wiped down and cleaned. Sire wont be rushing back or recommending people to stop here for pizza.

Got served by a lovely fellow called Ankit. He had both patience and good advice For me during the period i ordered, very friendly service and very tasty pizza will definitely come again.

Ordered a New Yorker meat pizza, place was empty apart from us, the pizza we felt was a little under cooked. The randomness of the lady cutting the pizza ensured there were arguments as to who had the larger slices, there was also a strange aftertaste of something like nutmeg which made the pizza simply average.

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service - Took over an hour to get food out, mucked up our order so had to wait even longer, the guy who served us didn’t understand English properly and was very slow with replies and were very unfriendly - Whole staff was laughing at peoples names on their orders and overall very unprofessional. One star as the food would have been nice if it wasn’t slightly cold

These guys put generous amounts of ingredients on their pizzas. Unlike some other Dominos Ive ordered pizzas from before. Enjoyed their apricot chicken pizza. It was so nice and fresh & the garlic bread was yummy😋.

The two pizzas we got today were two of the best we’ve ever received. Fresh and hot , toppings well placed and generous. Bases perfectly cooked . Well done Taupo team .

We ordered 2 peri peri chicken pizzas with 10 changes each. Out of these 10, 8 were additions and 2 susbstractions which resulted in 6 additional toppings. The resulting peri peri pizza came out 15 mins later than was expected and was more scantily dressed than the base peri peri and was devoid of any peri peri sauce. The one surprise addition was an unchewable and perhaps an uningestible object that we discovered in one of the pizzas. Will we order again ? I think the writing is on the wall in this one, i am actually not happy to give such a review, hopefully the business will learn and evolve for the better

Ive never had such a sorry excuse for a pizza, the driver was 15 minutes late and once I got the pizzas they were in a horrible state. Pictures will be added. Then when I contacted the Dominos they couldnt find my order on the system I had made an hour ago. Saying its "dissapeared" from their system. I advise everyone to steer clear of this Dominos as its a joke.

Super busystore, pizza was hot and staff were friendly. Not too long wait time but the app makes it really easy. Only problem is parking, good if you can have someone drop you off and circle the block where you get your order!

Yesterday, I called in and ordered a $5. Hawaiian Pizza with added Pepperoni, which came to $7.I bought it to eat for Dinner last night, and when I got it home was very disappointed to find it was nothing like the Cheesy, Filling Filled Pizza like we see on TV for $5.I counted SEVEN small pieces of Pineapple, and hardly any Ham hidden under the Pepperoni. There was also hardly any of stretchy Mozzarella Cheese, like on TV. THE pizza was very thin and well below DOMINOS Standards. It also tasted funny, like the oven hadnt been cleaned for years.Speaking of clean, the place was very gloomily lit, as it was on my previous visit a while ago. And I know why! The place was filthy!I was at the counter for most of my visit, waiting for my order, rather that sit in the background. I noticed that at the end of the counter, it was all greasy, a d this was hidden by a standing Menu.Looking under the stainless steel table / bench, it was very dirty there.One very nasty thing I noticed was, the girl making up the pizzas was NOT using a Cup, or Scoop for each of the Ingredients. Not ONE Cup or Scoop for ALL of the Ingredients, but PER Ingredient. She was wearing blue plastic disposable gloves, and was grabbing handfuls of ingredients, a, b, c, etc. using the same gloves per grab, risking cross contamination with everything, especially the different meats.After yesterdays visit, I dont think I will be coming back to Taupo DOMINOS again. I might, when you least expect it, to check on the cleanliness of the place.I dont k ow why, but your pizzas are nothing like what we expect, after seeing the DOMINOS promotions on TV.PLEASE get them to DOMINOS Standard? NOT yours! You are NOT consistent with the rest of the country.

Our pizzas we had last night were ok...we were disappointed that the 3 cheese stacked wasn’t what we thought it would be, as it didn’t have cheese in the base or crust. We won’t be ordering that again. We should have just ordered 3 traditional pizzas without adding the 3 cheese stack, as it costs to add that. Very disappointed. We emailed you to let you know and had no response, hence why I’m writing a review.

I was disgusted by what I saw in the store whilst I was there last week Saturday night (23/02). I went in to pick up a pizza that I had order online and was waiting when one of the girls (taller of the 2 indian girlsworking there was asked to clean the area around the make table. There was Sauce etc everywhere. She was wearing gloves from earlier and started to clean the area with a dirty cloth from a container which seemed to contain dirty water as she was squeezing out the dirt into it. As she was just finishing off wiping the area an order came through. She did not change her gloves or wash her hands.. she went straight into making the pizzas.She used the same dirty gloves to make 2 pizzas. And AFTER making them she took off her gloves to use her phone to play music in the store. I was appalled and had to throw my own pizza away too.

Pick up time was 6.04 pm finally got pizza at 6.14.I ordered a godfather, luckily I used a voucher and paid half price because what I got was pretty pathetic! A $5 pizza would of been better, my daughter had a mr wedge, she had cold hard bits in the potato!Not impressed Dominies!☹

I Went to dominos taupo for the very first time today to order 2 pizzas and 2 chocolate thick shakes with add-ons.As a former dominos staff member from a different store, I wasnt to happy from the first impression I got from this store.A lot of customers were waiting for their orders to be ready and seem to be annoyed. From the making screen I could see that you werent busy at all (less than 6 pizzas on the screen+ there were 7-8 staff members in the kitchen. The guy that was cutting didnt call out the complete orders and I could clearly see how our pizzas have been put in the hot box straight away even though I was standing in front of the counter together with the other people waiting. Nobody made the thick shakes even though the girl in the makeline gave the call loud and clearly. When I asked for my order the pizzas were ready ( I saw them sitting in the hotbox for 5minsbut the shakes were not apparently. The shakes were then made immediately but the chocolate swirl was missing. I as a former dominos instore know exactly how the thick shakes have to look like and as I politely asked the guy who made it if they dont have any chocolate sauce for the swirl anymore he told me there is only a swirl on the caramel shake. I asked another staff member about the shakes and got 2 new ones with the swirl + cream without any issues from a very nice guy.Thank you for the replacement of the shakes, but please teach your staff better! Even if theyre drivers normally, they should know the basic stuff. All in all everything looked a bit unorganized, apart from the 2 girls at the Makeline and Sauce bench.The customer area looked like a mess and the bathrooms clearly havent seen a good clean for a while...Pizzas and saucing were good. Cutting was OK. Im very sure from what Ive seen today, if there was an OER check today, you would have failed.Wish you all the best!

Hands down worse pizza experience of my life, pizza delivery was 15 minutes late and all three pizzas were cold. Dairy free pizza had no cheese on it, didnt bother to let us know there was no cheese and still charged us, delivery guy didnt say anything about it upon receiving payment. Not happy considering we paid $50 for terrible pizza. If I could give this experience negative stars I would.

Fast friendly service.As factory assembly line grease wheels goes this place was good. Food came out fast & hot & did not taste like a dead mule.Was not impressed with the overall condition of the restaurant. It was a mess with spills on most of the tables & floors. Place just needed a good clean. I understand it’s busy but no reason to let the place go south.

It’s place nice and yummy yummy pizza. They are always busy. It’s easy to get pizza fast by ordering online. If you order it in counter it will take at least 5 to 8 mins more than online orders. There is a car park near shop, but you get it rarely. Especially weekends are more busy than week days. Yummy yummy pizza

Dont even deserve a star. My order was due 7.33pm I got it delivered at 8.05pm after I got my order I said to the delivery man you very late. He tells me due to pizza Hut closed we are taking on more orders. Great so the company must have known that they need more staff. So the delivery driver leaves. Well being half hour late my food is cold.i called to tell them my food cold. Basically called me a liar and said I complain to them all the time.fyi before this order I havent placed an order with Dominos in the last 2 years. Now I know why I stopped ordering from their. Then he said I can have a complimentary pizza and garlic bread. Well guess what I had placed another order different day and time and I get told that I have to pay it in full no records of my complaint at all. But it was the same delivery guy. He then says next time. Pppffff.BTW most of these reviews are from the employees how fake is that😡😡. Bit of a joke if you tell me.

Worst service ever. We asked for the largest pizza you have, we got delivered a single person pizza. called back thinking we got the wrong order, they said “oh but a larger pizza costs more money” well you could tell us that we have money. So they try to fix the problem by sending us the pizza we wanted for just the difference in cost.....well that was 3 hours ago. everytime we call they said it will be 15 more mins with some excuse. 100% true story
