Dodai Khoray? - Afghani restaurant in Rawalpindi, Pakistan
good environment but food is traditional msy be i dont like Afghani specific dishes but its ok
Great food - tasty and high quality. And the staff is very humble and friendly!
Absolutely terrible experience. It took 1 hour and 30 min for a small order to get served and the food quantity was a joke. Mutton karhai was full of bones and minimal meat. The service is as bad as it could get. Atmosphere is definitely not enjoyable as no background music is played. I would never go back.
Best place for chappli kabab. It was soft, delicious and no oil dripping. Believe me when we get home. We feel hungry after an hour. I must say to visit this restaurant. Staff is really respectful and at the end. Theyll give you green tea for free. The meaning of this name of the restaurant is " You wanna eat?".
Poor experience, awful taste and absolutely terrible customer service. They do not pay heed to their customers and take ages to serve a small order. Overall: 0/10
Was here once and had the BBQ, it was very yummy, Gina visit again to treat my taste buds.
While they are struggling to survive as an authentic shinwari cuisine, they are currently far below the original afghani taste.
I rarely rate restaurants 5 out of 5 but this place definitely deserves to be rated 5.Everything, starting from cleanliness, attitude and then the most important part, the meal. Everything was spot on.Definitely worth trying.
Loved their food. Nice place to dine. Very tasty meat dishes.
The place is below average now, it used to be a good place in start with good food however now its better to not to be visiting
Kabli palao, chapli kbab, chatni were delicious bht alwa , but do not order afghani nan. They are really hard to take 2 slices even.
basically they have selected a wrong place where there are 4 top brands already working and i. wish they go. alomg but it seems they have not done research for. starting this business they should have planned food is good but they are not very professional
It has a traditional vibe. The service is ok but the overall atmosphere is not the best fora great dining experience. The waiters are lazy
Most authentic shinwari in the twin cities. Very flavorful and delicious. Absolutely worth the money
Excellent traditional restaurant with a very reasonable price. Also the food is really great in taste.
It was quite better when started, but recently i have visited, they have new administration as well as new owner, i ordered shinwari lamb, but it was a lamentable decision, food was cooked worst, the owner was present at that time but when complained he argued and tried to justify the bad cooking, and moreover a rude attitude was also faced, so i now recommand it only for those who was to experience a bad day and bad taste
Absolutely fabulous!!! Really enjoyed the food, excellent service, for good tasting food you have to give the cooks time to prepare with all this fast food service people patients is low cant wait good food takes time to cook Ive been to namak mandi in Peshawar and average waiting time can be 1hr. Hats of too the staff and cook
Pathetic service. Told us 40 minutes and took them 2 hours and kept telling 2 more minutes. At the end food was not worth waiting.
Really good food. You have to be patient as it takes time to prepare. Try the desi murgh karahi and mutton kebabs.
New management is very welcoming and forthcoming, they have improved ambience and food is good and freshly prepared. If you want a quick service than better pre-order.
Place is not super clean. A year later they still dont accept credit card. Cheff is good. Wait time is long.
Nice and authentic food. Limited options though but the food quality is pretty good. They take from 40min to 50min in preparing the food. Nothing for the kids. No desserts. Still recommended if you want to satisfy your lamb or shinwari craving.
try bbq platter and it was awesome
Just love the food there food is awesome plus the taste is undefineableThe best and the authentic shanwari in rawalpindiMust recommend you all to try afgani palao, chapal kabab plus their afgani nan the best thing is they use brown atta food afgani nanTotally in love with food 🍲 just love it
Chappal. Kababs were exceptional. Though afghani nan is just shaped as afghani nan but not as it is. Rest envoirenmnet is pleasent, food is good .
So so not so goodThe good was ok afgani dont taste like afgani food Nan and afghni roti was very bad never order it simple roti was goodIts just ok
I visited the restaurant with my family on Saturday evening 20 Oct. I had to wait over 90 minutes before our order of Dum Pukht mutton, Sohbat Chicken, Namkeen Tikka, chappli kebabs and mutton Karachi arrived. The bill was 4200. This restaurant service is extremely slow, and the food was average. But I have ordered home service before, and I found it much better than my dine in experience at the restaurant. I would not like to dine in this restaurant again. Ordering takeaway is better. If you want to eat out, I would recommend Kalisto.
Entered restaurant. Got seated. Waited for good 10 minutes for somebody to show up and. Nobody cared. We left the place.
Definitely worth going... good karahi and BBQ but would reccomend ordering food earlier
A taste of KPK right in Bahria Town Islamabad. The restaurant has authentic taste served in a neat clean environment. The staff is courteous and well mannered. The patta Tikka from this place is a delight worth relishing but eat at your own risk as its roasted in fat literally.
Fantastic Afghani cuisine... whtever we had ordered was fantastic .. nice ambience, very good service ..Karhais take little longer time but if u r with kids u can entertain ur selves with Ludo and PlayStation:)
Malai Tikka was top notch, havent had a better malai Tikka anywhere. Rest of the food was OK, I ordered lamb Karahi, seekh kabab and malai Tikka.
It was my favorite restaurant but past two three times we found that it completly lost their good taste n freshness , when we gave feedback to the staff got lost response from them . Most of their servers cannot speak or understand urdu . One guy who introduced him as a manager was also didnt pay attention on the complaint. His outlook , wearing doest match with his job tile . Someone responsible should look in to it and take creative actions . Trained thier cooks and staff appropriately.
Really good food but they need to work a lot to train their waiters. So i wont rate their service as good.
Nice fun authentic (at least for a non pashtunpashtun experience ... Food is delicious and the staff is very courteous ... Good child friendly casual place
Their serving quantity is very little. They dont even serve half of what we get from other restaurants.Service is pretty poor. They confirmed the order and after one half, waiter came and said sorry Sir this item is finished now.And at the end, when the bill came, that contained even those items which we didnt even order.
One of the few Shinwari restaurants you can take your family to (other being Khyber Dodai, Islamabad).Like every Shinwari restaurant, they are going to take at least 45 minites to prepare your order - so keep that in mind. They have board games like ludo to ease the wait and give you some quality family time.
Food taste is good. Need to work really hard on service and quantity. Staff needs training to guide the customers.
This place is opposite greenvalley hypermarket in phase 7, it is on the 2nd floor, above Texas ranger steakhouse which is on the 1st floor , same block.Food is basically a afghan restaurant with their traditional seating method , however tables are available..The food will not be to everyones liking, because it is cooked in their traditional way...There are better places to eat than this on the whole.....
It was a quite good place, kabli palao chapal kabab and beef seekh kabab were good, mutton karahi was good in taste but same problem that was of smell in meat, mutton tikka was soo much expensive only 7 piece tikka in 900rs and it was also not well cooked...
The best shinwari that Ive been to.Ever since childhood I had a question to my father " why do all shinwaris have to be torn up and so dirty? "Well this shinwari is neat and clean and well maintained with a cool and light ambiance. HAPPY STAFF.My first visit wasnt so well due to the staff behavior but I make a complain to the owner who happened to be there just to make him feel that we want his restaurant to do good and yes he made sure he resolves the things and now the same man is trained and respects customers. I would say great management.
The namkeen lamb karahi is indescribable. I just dont have words. No other lamb karahi in the twin cities comes close. I am addicted.
Dodai khoray is a nice place for desi food lovers... Opposite green valley it is placed nicely near bahria Rawalpindi expressway... The setup is traditional and clean... Food is hygienic... Enjoyed the meal specially the Afghani naan and beef seekh kabab...The staff is helping .. recommended for traditional/ continental/ shinwari food lovers..
had the best ever chapli kebab and afghani naan. also the staff was amazing. took care of our child while we ate. loved it will visit again soon.
The place is a little chilly in winters. Theres no separate restroom for the ladies. These are the only two turn offs. Other than this, the service is veryyy good. The food is alright. If one is into shinwari cuisine then its one of the best in the city but since im not big on such food so im not really the best person yo judge the food.
This restaurant is many things but definitely not an Afghan restaurant. Low quality food. Everything was cold. And on top of all that, it is still one of the expensive restaurants around. Dont waste your time coming here for Kabali pulao.
Had a lovely experience at "Dodai Khoray". Courteous staff, snug environment, simpatico ambience and topping it all luscious food.A must recommendation for all meat lovers who have a penchant for Namkeen cuisine. The pleasant surprise was at the very end with complimentary green tea.All the very best to DK management and hopefully will be their guest soon.
Hard to find such a family friendly shinwari. Its the real deal. Food takes about an hour to prepare but its fresh and definitely worth the wait. Namkeen tikka, chapli kabab and kabuli pulao highly recommended.
Excellent Food but need to seriously improve Management Skills ...Would Love to Visit Again and Again
Good and authentic food . Newly opened , needs abit more ambience but the food is awesome.
