Dive Timor Lorosae in Aileu

We never dived with Dive Timor but used the accomodation for a few days. We are backpackers and could leave our large backpacks at Dive Timor while travelling around Timor. Moreover there is a kitchen we used at least once a day. The accomodations were very clean and comfortable. The pool is a very nice addon and the staff is also exeptional nice and helpful. We would highly recommend this place.

I really enjoyed staying and diving with Dive Timor. Marianne was very responsive and helpful and helped me out a lot of when I realised my Mastercards do not work in East be Timor and I was short on cash...Great accommodation options, very private and comfortable, good aircon, shower and toilet, good wifi, felt like staying in a nice hotel+ included superb breakfast with various food options and coffee! Accommodation catering to various budgets which was great as I was trying to save some money and go budget.Diving was also great, they took us to a few good dive sites, all professionally organised and all equipment prepared.All in all, great team and place to stay, even if you are not a diver and they can take you snorkelling as well to some awesome locations. Definitely, bring some cash with you to East Timor to avoid problems with cards and avoid paying extra!

Arrived only 14.30 and still all were happy to organize an introduction dive in pool and see. With Robbert (Dutch guy, Abbys boyfriendas superfriendly and superskilled diving instructor, we got known and familiar with necessary basics for a first save intro. Amazing! Cool! The staff is incredibly accommodating, the place was clean, the pool is fantastic! The food at Castaways is delicious and you can’t beat their happy hour. Was a great get away and I will definetly be staying with them again. Hoping to do some diving in the future and they’re certainly top of the list for that as well.

2017、18年の2回、ダイビング目的で訪れました。今年になってスタッフさんがだいぶ変わりましたが、以前も今も皆さん人柄が良く、インストラクター陣ローカル陣は丁寧な仕事をされていると思います。注意点としては、ダイビングの予約をされる方、特に限られた短い日程で来られる方は、一度の連絡で安心せずに、リコンファームをした方が良いかもしれません。ダイビングトリップの詳細 (行き先・出発時刻・所要時間・昼食の有無等もきちんと確認しておくと良いでしょう。体験ダイビングや講習希望の方は、申し込む前に予めご自身で病歴チェックをしておきますとスムーズです。(「ダイビング　病歴診断書」でウェブ検索すればチェック表が直ぐに見付かります)ダイビングセンターの上がレストラン兼バー、同じ敷地内にダイビングプールやキッチン付きの宿泊施設、外へ出れば徒歩1分の場所にスーパーマーケット、ATM、カフェもあるので、滞在に不便は感じません。宿泊はドミトリーから広いアパートメントまであるので、安く抑えたい方もちょっと贅沢したい方も好みで選べます。施設ではなくダイビングサイトの話になりますが、大まかに分けて、ローカル(ビーチ)、コースト(ビーチ)、ローカル(ボート)、アタウロ島(ボート)の四種類です。それぞれ異なる魅力がありますし、もしジュゴンを狙うのでしたら、水中での遭遇率はかなり低いですので、滞在には余裕を持たせる事をお奨めします。

Dive Timor has such friendly staff. I love staying here - whether its diving or just exploring Dili. Its a very central location. The rooms are great quality and you cant beat the price. Would highly recommend.

David, one of the staff at the dive centre, wasnt very helpful when communicating by email before we arrived in Dili. Despite this we went in person to ask about renting snorkel gear the next day. (This was after we did some dives on Atauro for HALF the price that this dive centre quotes, $50 per dive compared to $200 for 2 dives with little flexibilityby diving with Atauro Dive centre on the island instead.He said no problem, and when asked about the price he said it would be hardly anything, but didnt specify how much. When pushed he said it would "depend on [his] mood". When we returned the next day at 12pm (and it wasnt a short walk from our hostelhe said it would cost $20 for a mask and snorkel. I know Timor Leste is expensive but $20 (even before asking about finsis just ridiculous for a half a days rental. Especially when the difference they charge for divers with/without dive equipment rental is $5. On Atauro there were snorkellers who paid less than $20 for both daily rental and a boat trip to the reef. Clearly Dave was in a foul mood when we encountered him. Didnt care about wasting our time, or getting our business, or generating any goodwill with us (we actually were in the market for some Dili dives which we decided against after this interaction). Save your money and dive/snorkel/stay with the lovely people on Atauro instead.

Great clean place to stay in Dili. Across from sea, aircon, close to supermarket, ATM, WiFi, Pool, affordable rooms!

My partner and I stayed here for four nightson a visa-run from Bali in early April 2018 and had a superb time. Each of the diving, accomodation and restaurant (Cast Away Barwas excellent.The manager (Virginiewas wonderful, responsive on email, organisng airport pick-ups and drop-offs, a comfortable room (room Fand excellent local and coastal diving. We dived 6 times in three days (including twice at Atauroand our dive guides, Francisco and Man were also excellent. They were very experienced divers and critter hunters and were both fully focussed on making sure we had the best dive experiences possible (and those experiences were indescribable - this is world-class, pristing reef and muck diving at its best).All in all, we were extremely happy to have booked with Dive Timor and would come back (and recommend friends and familyin a heartbeat.Bare in mind that this is not 5 star accomodation, but given that Timor felt developed, economically, somewhere south of countries like Rwanda and Uganda, the owners have done an amazing job creating such a wonderful space, right on the waterfront.Thank you to all the team for making our trip so special!

I wish I could put more than 5 stars in scores because i got amazing trips with DTL!!I stayed 3 nights there in backpacker room that extremely comfort, they have very good facilities and all function worked well. The staffs also very helpful who make my city trips went successful with fairly price as well. The diving was so great too, I saw many beautiful corals in clearly water. After dive I got welcoming hot sponge cake! Thanks Fransisco to allowed me to took 2 big pieces of cake! :P lovely!Im very sure to coming back to DTL :all you guys were amazing!love from Bali,Ranny

I couldnt recommend this dive shop highly enough. Professional and friendly. Always willing to go the extra mile, by way of example we stayed for a week and were driven to different dinner destinations on numerous occasions - no charge. Night dive was offered which we gladly went on - it was awesome. Pleasantly surprised when there was no charge at the end of the week, even though it was an extra dive for 8 people (we paid for 10 dives). Carried our gear, washed the gear, a service which I hadnt previously experienced. If you stay there, the breakfast is impressive. Castaways is a lovely spot for a beer too.

I had a good medium-rare beef steak made with great Australian meat. It came with a tasteless green salad and some strange hard though freshly fried chips. What can I say...

I had a great time staying and diving here! The shore dives and Atauro Island were really great. Dili is an interesting place - not many tourists, but a lot of foreigners who work for various organisations.

I have been diving with DTL for over a year and I find the equipment at a very good standard, professional dive masters and confidently completed my rescue diver. Thanks team.

I stayed for 6 days 5 nights at Dive Timor Lorosae in the 2 bed room.It was clean and confortable. The food from the bar was good, and a local Timor coffee shop was just few minutes walk away.Ive been diving 4 days with either Kate or Ivan, which are both great professionals and people. Their knowledge and kindness wont disappoint you.We did mostly shore diving, including night muck diving, which was great.The dives are very easy, with beach entry and there is a good variety of life and corals in there :).I also did a trip to Atauro island.Very good atmosphere on the boat, saw many dolphins on the way and the dives were great, different from the shore dives.Then the last day before my flight, as it was the whale migration season I went whale watching with them, that was awesome. I did whale-watching in Canada and Iceland before but I never saw so many different species of whales and dolphins in just a few hours. Dozens of whales and literally hundreds of dolphins. Amazing experience.I would definitely recommend this Dive shop, their Instructor and both the diving and whale watching I did with them.Will come back for sure !

Good quality diving gear, interested and helpful instructors, great local knowledge. Ive been diving with them a couple of times, never had any issues.

Knowledgeable guides and excellent gear. They know all the sites. And will always have a dive budy for the lonely traveler.

“Margaritas & Great Food”This is one of my favourite bars in Dili, a place Ive been living in or visiting for work the last 20 years. My sanity preservative is Sunday lunch with a view of the see, accompanied by a glass of red wine and followed by a margarita and a book.They make good food. I used to love the lasagne, but had to go gluten free and miss it! However, theres a lot else, and my fav is the Chicken Caesar Salad, fantastic!Great place to meet a friend for dinner and a talk.

Dive centre and Guesthouse. Great diving.

Went diving three times with them and thought they provided a great, professional service. The trips to the east coast of Dili were my favorite and lunch and drinks were provided. Diving is however expensive in Timor but otherwise it was great
