Good and proper service
The best experience
The museum is in a very modern building and is well organised. There are not so many exhibits but what they have is good. The guides are free and worth having, mine was friendly and knowledgeable.
Didn’t get to see much of the inside as it was closed on the weekend. But there is an outside garden where you can walk. I feel like this place has so much more potential but is not being maintained well
Worth a visit.Parking at the back in the side street.
Very nice
Vast knowledge gained , well designed to accommodate young children to adults and professionals alike
Relaxation place with memoropeila inprints
The time we were given was very limited and many schools were booked for the same day.
I loved the restaurants Friday buffet braai. The museum has stunning Ndebele murals as well. I think theres a good collection of relevant and interesting artefacts
fantastic, we learned a lot and got to see a mummified body
One of the largest museums in SA, with the best baboon collection in southern Africa. The museum has the best staff ever, they were helpful and generous towards me during my research visit
The place is very neat and the staff were very much friendly. I like it.

The Ditsong National Museum of Natural History, formerly the Transvaal Museum, is a natural history museum situated in Pretoria, South Africa. It is located on Paul Kruger Street, between Visagie and Minnaar Streets, opposite the Pretoria City Hall. The museum was established in 1895 by the former South African Republic, also known as the Transvaal. In 2010 it was one of the founding Museums of Ditsong Museums of South Africa. It was founded as the Staatsmuseum (Afrikaans for "State Museum"of the ZAR on 1 December 1892, and J. W. B. Gunning was appointed as its first director. For the first two years after it was founded, the museum was located in the Ou Raadsaal parliament building.
It wonderful for taking out kids on weekends
An amazing place! As a curator from a museum I am blown away by the neatness and order of the large collections!!!
We always have events at this beautiful museum at work , National Department of health. The security guards are so helpful
Verg good large collection of stuffed mammals and birds on display. Interactive displays are all broken and run down. Kids loved it still. (Dec2019, Cost R40/adult R20/child)
Was attending an event and the conference centre was spacious enough, great food at the restaurant as well.
Great and clean environment and also great for meeting with writters
Cultural Museum still upgrading but worth checking out with the kids or functions and conventions work in the heart of pretoria
Informative, highly trained and educated professional staff. World-class. Exhibitions are great, inclusive and contemporary. Great collection, some of the most historically relevant and valuable pieces on the continent and South Africa. Brilliant place.
Its beautiful and insightful, creepy mummy display but I loved it. The place was not cleaned though after an event -Im assuming . Curtains for deco were not put down which made it hard to see things up on some of the walls.
This is such a nice place, I was there on the 21st of September 2019. I really enjoyed myself as I was in a Church Conference in the Auditorium
It was cool and it is a self tour guide and u can push certain buttons to make the exhibition come alive all in al this was a good excursion
The techniques and experiences however in this guide are fully transportable to other asset classes, be they currency pairs, commodities or indices.. #TBC The Billion Coin
I love the place, very child friendly and parking is not a hustle.
Great restaurant. Great venue
Everything is just great here
Very good indeed
Opera is one of the most important elements of the Italian cultural heritage, and probably the most important Italian cultural assets in South Africa. This style of performance, born in Italy over four hundred years ago, has become so widespread and deeply rooted in the world that it is regarded as the highest and most complex expression within musical theatre. The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, born in 1880, over the centuries, was able to bring together internationally renowned set and costume designers, whose works form a gigantic iconographic heritage through artistic and highly relevant documents. The Historical Archives preserves this precious collection of more than 11.000 sketches and 90.000 costumes, 10.000 pictures, 10.000 playbills, press-reviews since 1911, audios since 1964 and videos since 1984.The exhibition was opened on March 28th with a special performance by opera students of the Tshwane University of Pretoria. The display is a selection of 49 sketches and 14 costumes, each piece related to a famous opera title, selected essays designed by theatrical artists ranging from 1912 to the present day, part of the golden age of opera. This exhibition is a tribute to Opera, a journey through the masterpieces and the most famous characters of the lyrical repertoire performed at the Teatro dell’Opera in the last century, from Barbiere di Siviglia to Aida, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, La Traviata, Andrea Chénier, Don Pasquale, Cavalleria Rusticana and many others. The exhibition will be open to the public until April 30th.#Opera #Italian #Teatro #Exhibition #Pretoria #Tshwane #WSPianos
Yeah it was dope(educational),even the Mummy part was very interesting thumbs up...
A must visit, richness of South African culture and the history of its struggle, Miriam Makebas historic corner. Impressive.
Great with a guide that shows you the storerooms. They have a great a huge collection of furniture, glass, garments. Makes a fantastic overview over the last 200-300 years. The museum itself is very old, safe parking
Very nice appearance security present but unfortunately never available aircon is not working very hot staff very rude
Beautifull restaurant and bar. Delicious braai buffet for a good price. Catering for functions big and small.
could have been better. not well organized. it is hard to find your way around.
Terrible service, took over an hour for our drinks to be served. Food was disappointing. Chicken was undercook, it did not seem as if the staff was happy to work there.
Website said it was open. Doors and ticket office Dre were open, but employee insisted that they were closed on Saturdays. She had a brochure in front of her that also confirmed they shouldve been open. She wouldnt let us in. Very disappointing.
Great place to host many types of functions, great staff so helpful and professional hospitality.
Conference facility is spacious and accessible. Catering was also wonderful
Food was nice but conference facilities not so great
Beautiful place with so much to learn
It’s a wealth of South Africa’s cultural history. They should just improve the cell phone network connectivity
Wonderful place
I loved the Marabastad history....the highlight was seeing the typewriter that my dad once loved. Memories....
