Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park in Buenaventura Lakes
Description
Privilege
Great water park. Good options for kids and adults!
Typhoon Lagoon never disappoints. Its actually one of my favorite Disney parks. I love the tropical vibes and all of the lush tropical landscaping. There are plenty of water slides, rides, a long lazy river, and a huge wave pool with HUGE waves. Great drink and food options, too.
MoreTop notch Waterpark. The wave was a highlight for my daughter. Food drinks it has it all.
MoreFun for everyone. Lazy river has warmer water and is filled with single/double floaters and U-shaped seat floats👈👈👈 are the best. We ate at Leaning Palms and shared a Jerk Shrimp 🍤 rice bowl with corn salsa and plantains. The frozen tropical drink slush was fruity and cooling. The 🌊 Pool is AMAZING! See videos 🎥. There’s a roaring sound as it starts and everyone starts to scream in excitement! At the entrance, a cast member 🧑🎨 was chalking my favorite character! Dale in a pumpkin (as it is October when we went - the temps were high 70s)They also have kid friendly areas, rides, plus ship wrecked 🏴☠️💦splash pads.Recommend riding the 🎢Crush ‘n’ Gusher and 🩱Miss Adventure Falls. You’ll be 🌬️Blown Away with fun!
MoreThe wave pool is second to none! The massive wave provides the backdrop for the excitement throughout the pool when it comes.Theres slides for all age groups and the lazy river ie a great way to unwind
MoreHad a blast at Typhoon Lagoon! We purchased passes ahead of time with our park passes and almost didnt go because we had too much on our to do list for our first DisneyWorld vacation. We are glad we made time to head over here one afternoon.... it was our favorite thing to do in the midst of all the Disney crowds and chaos. It was the perfect place to hang out, play, and get wet in the Florida heat plus it wasnt crowded. The huge wave pool was awesome (and scary)! The wave that comes at you is so strong & carried us further than we expected. We loved relaxing in the lazy river and our teenagers had a great time playing on several of the waterslides & in the wave pool. There was plenty of lounge chairs and room to space out. We also loved the white sand around the water park.We were surprised they closed at 5 PM and would have loved to stay longer. Didnt realize until writing this review, that we missed a whole section of the waterpark. We had plenty to do and had a great time for about 4 hours one day. This is a definite "do again" for us if we return to Disney World.
MoreThis place is perfect for families with infants to pre teens. We have an 8,11, and 13 they had a nice time. Park is older does not have all the new water park rides but it has just amount needed for us to enjoy. Double rides, infant area, wave pool. We have been to the other water parks but found this place relaxing, easy going with just the right amount of rides. You want the latest in water parks this is not the place. You want to enjoy a relaxing nice afternoon this place we work.
MoreWe visited here as a break from the parks. Our Disney tickets gave us access and it was enjoyable enough chilling out here for a few hours. If it wasnt included in our tickets, I dont think Id spend the money on entry at the gate.As far as water parks go, theres nothing particularly exciting about the place. Theres a large beach area around the main pool with loungers and a nice long lazy river. The queues for the flumes can get quite long. From what I can gather, Disney have two water parks and at any given time, one will be closed whilst the other gets refurbished. The other park (Blizzard beachis due to open soon and by far the better park.
MoreGreat place to visit for the whole family. Not too crowded, plenty of seats and loungers were available. The kids loved jumping over the waves in the lagoon. The lazy river is so relaxing to drift along on a flotation chair. The cold water falls gave a refreshing shock to the body 💦😂 Food good but expensive. Souvenir shops also expensive. Cocktails were delicious and the staff were outstanding in their friendly attitude and helpfulness.
MoreEasily the best water park Ive ever been to. Terrific slides, a meandering lazy river you can use to travel to different spots in the park, and a massive wave pool. Lots of great restaurants at different price points and a surprising number of vegetarian, vegan, and even some gluten free food options, which is always nice. Big and small lockers to rent for the day, & the changing rooms are actually quite nice - showers, etc. It would be nice if Disney installed a hook of some kind as the curtains tend to blow open as people walk by... Overall, though, a great place to spend the day!
MoreVery nice place. My kids had such good time. We really enjoyed the family ride they have.
MoreOne of our favorite low key spots for a hot day. Always clean, staff is friendly, lines arent bad for a water park. Finding a tube on the lazy river can be a challenge in the afternoon.
MoreNot as ‘exciting’ as universal’s water park but good for families with young kids❤️
MoreThe best water park in Disney. I recommend reserving an umbrella or cabana for the weekends.
MoreTyphoon lagoon offers a break from the regular theme parks. Lockers available to rent ( card only.Towels can be rented from there if you forget one. Also a shop selling swimwear, goggles, flip-flops etc.. Plebty of sun loungers and seating dotted around the place. A few more sun umbrellas wouldn’t go amiss though for that much sought after shade. Several water rides and a lazy river on offer ( lazy river is full of rubber rings for you to travel along on.The main feature of Typhoon lagoon is definitely the wave pool. The wave machine happens roughly every 20 minutes or so. Hardened, confident swimmers get right in the middle of the action, where the further back you stand, the gentler the impact of the waves. Lifeguards watch over all areas of this park at all times. Swimming vests are available free of charge for non swimmers and younger guests. Changing rooms, showers and toilets onsite, plus quick service eateries and a bar. One word of advice.. the floors get boiling hot on your bare feet. Swim shoes are recommended!!!
MoreLoved it! Hired a Private Shack. Which I would highly reccomend. It was in a perfect spot. We had our own waitress for drink/food orders. Our own ice box with bottles of water provided. We received our own refillable bottles & had a safe. The pool/lazy river was great as ever & the set up was really good. Shops /rides & points of interest all over.
MoreI like this aqua park is really chilled out. Small rides, nothing crazy, easy access. In the middle of September is not that busy. I didnt wait in the queue at all. Nice and smooth rides probably best for family with little children. In this park is the longest lazy river from all aquatic parks in Orlando. Staff is entertaining children with some competing games as well when parents waiting for food. I like it.
MoreSo sad that the Swimming with Sharks experience has gone. Lots of the wood around the park is in disrepair. Cast Member Lifeguards were lacking in their efforts to enforce rules, which diminished the Disney experience for us. We had fun, but we wished there were Lightning Lanes like the parks.
MoreAbsolutely fantastic water park. So much fun and so much to do. 100% recommended.
MoreOne of the best value for your money in all the Disney Parks. My family and I ended up staying one extra day due to flight cancelation. So we ended up going here to sit by the pool so to speak. But it turned out to be one of the best days. Lots of things to do for the entire family.
MoreThis place was great. My group has an absolute blast. Place seemed fairly packed but all the lines were fairly short. Early August and the weather was fantastic. There was the normal afternoon thunderstorm and they had everyone get out of the water for just over an hour. Which was a perfect break to get food, snacks, and shop. It was super easy to find chairs to have a homebase throughout the say.
MoreGreat way to stay cool on a hot summer day :slides are great but the wave pool is fantastic! Recommend bringing sandals or swim shoes if youre a tenderfoot like me.
MoreOur first time at any of the Disney water parks was for the H2O glow party at Typhoon Lagoon. It was an amazing event definitely worth it and this is a great water park! So much to do and the best wave pool I have ever been to. I will warn you that they are not kidding with this being a "wave" pool. The waves are way over your head at times but it is so cool!!
MoreGreat water park. General tickets are $73 per person which includes access to 2 body slides, 2 single tube slides, 1 short family tube slide, 1 water coaster family tube slide, and a two-person tube water coaster. They also have a huge wave pool (with HUGE wavesthat goes up to 6-7 feet and a lazy river (2-3feet deepthat goes around the entire park.Overall its a great place to visit especially on hot days. The rides arent as themed as normal Disney Parks (theyre just normal water ridesbut the waits are much shorter than general Disney parks. Lines were between ~10-20min generally. You can go to the wave pool or lazy river whenever and stay there as long as you want. Most of the rides are toddler-friendly and we also saw several babies. For food, you can get Disneys classic Dole Whip ice cream here (but not the floats!and general variety of Disney fast food. Theres lockers with showers near the entrance. You can also leave your stuff in a beach chair throughout the park.
MoreGreat. Free parking. The wave pool has biggest wave I have ever seen. Slides are mostly good,.something for all ages. Worth buying refill cup when you arrive. Queue not too bad for most slides. They drop to walk straight on within an hour of closing time. Worth taking shoes, flip flops as floor between rides and on queue can be hot. Lazy river is long but can be used to avoid hot floor when getting round the park
MoreSuch a fun place to go! I always have a great time unless my chair is sat on by a Brazilian tour group.Highly recommend reserving an umbrella or cabana. These make the park a totally different experience with comfort. There is no need to rush at park opening to get a good seat.I love the refillable drink and beer options! We are still using refillable cups from 2021 with no issues. Just make sure you dont put them in a dishwasher.
MoreLoved this place and if you can afford try get a Cabana as this is a great place for shade, security for your personal items and somewhere to just chill. Well worth the money in our opinion
MoreThis water park is great for all ages. Besides the water slides which are not overly scary; It has a kiddie play area, lazy river and wave pool. There are definitely areas for all in the family to enjoy. I was also somewhat impressed with the quality and variety of the fast food served.
MoreExcellent water park. True to Disney form they design and decorate each ride so that it fits perfectly into the environment. Not a lot of thrill rides but the wave pool is next level. My kids both said that was their favorite part.
MoreWe went to the Typhoon Lagoon H20 glow party and had an amazing time. The dance party wa uper kid friendly while have so gs that parents and adults could enjoy. I highly recommend recommending renting a cabana. We got a deluxe cabana for our group of 10. Sean was our personal attendant and he really helped make our night magical. He was a call or text away at all times and got us all sorts of food and drink. It was his first night and he was an awesome attendant. The park was great. I loved the Miss Adventure and Mayhem! Great experience and the lazy river is super fun.
MoreNice water park, especially if you spring for a cabana. I would recommend nothing else. Its well worth the money. You get free water, non-alcoholic beverages and your own private sitting area all day. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because of an interaction with a lifeguard. We had a large number of people in our party. One of them had a one year old. There was a gentle raft ride and she asked the lifeguard at the bottom of the ride if she was able to take her child on the ride with her. The lifeguard said she could. She waited in line and when she got to the top that lifeguard told her she couldnt ride with anyone but herself. She proceeded to explain what the lifeguard at the bottom said but she was turned away and had to make the walk of shame back down to the bottom. I really have no problem with any of what occurred up to this point. What the issue was that when she reached the bottom, a different lifeguard was there and said to her that he didnt tell her she could ride with her child (the lifeguard at the top must have communicated the conversation with him via radio). The individual in our party told him it wasnt he who said that but someone else. The lifeguard told her that no one in the park would tell her that was okay. Heres the thing, I get that their job is to look out for everyones safety but the interaction really put a dark cloud over the day for that individual. There were a lot of lifeguards that were fantastic that day and very customer friendly but this particular one was not and couldve easily taken a different approach. Im sure Disney doesnt care whether one family was affected by a rude employee but I think they should. And, if they somehow do, I hope they take this to heart. A kind response in the face of controversy goes a long ways. Though the individual in my party wasnt being aggressive or rude, even if she was professionalism should be observed at all times. I work in an industry where there are extremely aggressive people and rudeness is an every day thing. I, nor the people I work with, would ever respond with anything but a respectful tone. Disney, being in a service industry, should demand the same from its employees. Again, almost everyone we interacted with at Typhoon Lagoon was great. It just takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch. And unfortunately we found one.
MoreDisney typhoon lagoon was amazing although had to leave early because of weather where they shut down all the rides because of lightning they opened them 40 minutes later but I was already leaving 😪
MoreFun slides that arent too intense. Our favorites are Miss Adventure Falls, Crush n Gusher and Humunga Cowabunga. The lazy river is nice and the Sand Pail sundae was good. Definitely be there at 9:30 for rope drop if you want a spot in the shade.
MoreIt was a great Waterpark! Clean, plant of places to sit, lockers are easily accessible. It could use more shade on a hot day. The wave pool is awesome!
MoreWe had a great experience overall. There was no charge for parking. We packed a beach bag with towels, etc, and there were plenty of chairs throughout the park and we opted to put our stuff on one of the chairs as our home base.It did thunderstorm for an hour while we were there, but staff inside the store was super nice and gave out free towels for everyone. The entire staff was pleasant all day and made the experience great.Food/alcohol is pricey but it’s Disney. It’s expected.Lazy River was by far my favorite. Everyone was super respectful and it was very enjoyable.
MoreAmazing atmosphere. Waiting in lines does not feel like a chore because everything around you looks awesome. The only negative is that there are not many extreme slides.
MoreTyphoon Lagoon is currently the only Disney water park open. It is a wonderful fun option for enjoying a park at Disney. I was especially impressed with the many fun activities for toddlers. There is a section for toddlers that even includes a mini tube ride - which the kids between ages 2-5 just loved. The family friendly raft rides were also super fun for toddlers. And finally the slides that empty on to the wave pool are designed for kids age 2-5. Overall - Typhoon lagoon is a super fun place to visit!
MoreSuch a great experience on this back we love the rides very friend family and you can take your little ones for play. I think they should install more Mabs and some abscess faded he can’t even see it we get last couple of times I see you anything at this park
MoreFantastic day!!! So much to do and then theres the lazy river....I could have spent the entire day floating around. Loved everything 💕
MoreStaff lovely, short queues, great facilities only thing is it needs more areas in the shade. Well worth the visit
MoreThis was my 1st time experiencing Disneys water park. I had fun! I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Typhoon Lagoon. I spent a lot of time in the lazy river. There was a lot of floating options available like single inner tubes, double inner tubes, and a floating chair which was my favorite. Life vest were available and towels can be rented. Therefore, bring your own towels. You can also bring your own meals to save money or splurge on Disney snacks. The wave pool was intense. My main issue is that they have plastic lounge chairs that do not adjust and in the Florida sun they can get very hot. I will have to revisit to try the slides.
MoreA good selection of rides. An amazing wave pool - how do they make a wave that big?! Got there a while after opening but still managed to get sun loungers. No rides with long queues, even though it was quite busy. Staff very friendly and helpful
MoreMy teenage son had a so much fun at the water park!!! And yes he got the ice cream BUCKET!! I was too late taking the photo!! lol ….The Sangria we’re for me 👍🏻👌
MoreI have to lead with the only way to experience this place correctly is to reserve a beachcomber shack! It was our first time here in probably 15 years and boy did we have a blast. The weather was a little brisk and windy in the morning, but as a whole, couldnt have asked for a better day.Short lines, the coolest wave pool Ive ever seen...and dedicated staff to bring all food and libations we could handle! We shall be back ASAP.
MoreWe had a great time riding rides and lounging down the lazy river on a chilly Monday. It was in the 50s to start the day, which was nice Bc the park was empty until noon. The longest we waited was 2 minutes all day for rides. The place is very clean, the attendants are very helpful, it’s easy to rent lockers, they have free towels so you don’t have to bring your own, and the food is pretty decent. One of the best water parks I have been to so far! And there was a wild turkey in the parking lot!!
MoreBE AWARE they do NOT give towels, they will send you to buy a $30 towel. Im pretty sure they use to give towels cause there are a lot of "towel return" can throughout the park. I enjoyed my time there tho.
MoreThis is a gorgeous, laid-back water park that caters to all ages. The park is kept very well maintained and cast members were helpful throughout the park. Ride queues were all manageable and it never felt overly congested despite being busy.
MoreMy favorite place in the world to to spend a few hours! Probably the only place I truly relax. From the lazy river to the bar in the sand to slides, it is a wonderful atmosphere that completely envelopes you. The theming is perfect.
MoreWe had so much fun here. This is the best water park. Getting an umbrella made the day more fun. The wave pool was amazing and the lazy river the most fun. Tons of great food to eat and drinks to be had. Dont forget to try the mini Donuts with dipping sauces.
MoreExcellent water park with tons of slides, huge wave pool, lazy river and more! Kids had a great time, parents relaxed in the private cabana!
