Discovery Parks - Clare - in Clare, Australia
Nice place with friendly staff; the pool was closed for the whole time we were there, that was a disappointment as the weather was good for the pool. The cabin we stayed in was clean and tidy upon arival
Pretty park with clean amenities however not enough for the size of the park. Quite expensive as most discovery parks are becoming even with member discount. Convenient location
Very nice, lots of trees and great facilities
$170 for two nights in Clare ...I DONT THINK SO just because its school holidays is no excuse to rip people off. Its not like town is exactly big or beautiful to its just a town. Definately wont be staying there EVER...
If you need a getaway where you just need to relax and unwind, this is the place! Get a cabin, and sit out on the deck with your wine, beer or coffee and just let the kids roam. They can enjoy the beautiful grounds, jumping pillow, playgrounds, pump track, pool and lots more. All in the safety of the park grounds. Dont worry, they will come back when they are hungry lol. In the evening, you can all enjoy the bbq area with fire place, a great place to meet other guests.
Very clean park but staff were not helpful.
Clean and tidyWould be very busy public holidaysSchool holidaysCould do with more amenitiesBut we still enjoyed the park
Clean amenities, lovely hot showers each morning. Nice spacious kitchen with cooktops, microwave and sinks. I loved the under cover area with open fire place lit each night of our stay, plenty of bench seating to enjoy the atmosphere and a couple sinks to clean up after cooking the barby there. Loved the pizza ovens dotted around the park. Next time I will plan to bring some veggies to roast. Kids loved the bouncy pillow and the modular bike track. Pool looked well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were in the back section which is quite a walk to the amenities so you may want to request closer if this would bother you. But in that area I didnt hear any road traffic and it was a lovely natural area with grass, trees and a creek.
The cabin we have is dirty not clean walls are dirty front door filthy with dirt. Windows not clean. M & ms between lounge found windows mould growing Blinds in loungeroom. Mop bucket thrown in cupboard one hanger in main bedroom. Not impressed.not fitted properly.
Great spot. Not expensive. Good play areas for kids that can be seen from the cabins. Id go back.
Nice big drive through sites. Good amenities in a nice location
Stayed in a lovely dog friendly cabin. We were made very welcome for the weekend. Loved i!
The whole place is absolutely great, the staff amazing and the amenities terrific. The drawback is the traffic noise.
Beware of bidding on Discovery Park holidays on Travel Auction! We won a Travel Auction to Clare Discovery Park but couldn’t use it in the allotted time because my son broke both his arms in an accident & will take 12 months to regain full strength. We were his only means of support. I rang Discovery Parks 2 times before being directed to Discovery Trade to request an extension of the allotted time. No extensions are given, even when I had a genuine reason for not using the travel auction in the allotted timeframe.I gave it a 1 star review above because I had to give it a star to begin writing this. I didn’t get to go to Clare Discovery Park so can’t comment on what it’s like.
Had a fabulous time here! Stayed in the economy cabin and it exceeded our expectations! Clean, well maintained, lots of perso al touches, and very affordable priced! Office staff were so lovely and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Loved our stay in Clare. Nice and easy to get in the Riesling Trail. Office staff very helpful. Grounds staff prepared the fire pits every evening for us to sit around with others. Tourist information center just over the back with alot of helpful info on Clare. Good value for money. Would love to go back and stay one day.
Lovely amenities including a great camp kitchen. Staff were helpful and the setting with the tall gums and green grass made for a really nice stay.
Lovely camping spot. There are all the facilities you may need including a BBQ burner and a camp fire pit. It could be busy at times.
A nice caravan park, but was placed right near the main road and it was very loud at night. There was also a tent near us that was up all night until 1am and kept us up. I spoke to reception the next day about it and they didnt offer to speak to them that I have to talk to them myself. Overall good place but had zero sleep due to the noise.
We recently stayed two nights at the Clare Discovery caravan park. Firstly, it was so expensive. They charged my husband & I $72.50 per night for a powered site.....we have NEVER paid that much...big rip off!!!. Secondly, the park looked unkept, there was grey water running past our site on the road. A maintenance worker drove past & ignored it. If you are going to charge so much, we expect value for money. We will NOT be back.
Clean, well appointed cabinWell layed out park with good facilities
The whole place lacked cleanliness. Friends stayed in a cabin cutters overflowing with leaves hence ceiling huge water stained. Shower unsafe and slippery, unit was not really clean. BBQ area sinks not cleaned. Would not recommend to anyone 😕
Unfortunately our stay wasnt great. We booked months ahead but were put in the back paddock (and werent told we would be located there). Portaloos were the only facility in that area and when we did make the trek to the permanent toilet block across the bridge, the showers were cold (even though we went really early in the morning to beat the crowds). Mobile phone reception was non-existent (not sure how the caravan park can help therebut the trees surrounding the park were just stunning. If there was a toilet block built into that back paddock then that would help immensely or, if the owners are going to put people in the back paddock, advise them of this prior to manage expectations and charge less than the other sites. Not sure if wed stay here again, which is unfortunate, because Clare is absolutely beautiful.
Nice caravan park, there is upgrading being done so will want to come back when completed. This is our go to place to stay in the Clare Valley with easy access to everything. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Great park & facilities no hesitation in revisiting...lots of trees
Tidy little self contained cabins at a great price. Enough kitchen to cook up a storm or relax at the end of the day.
No toilets where we were camping or showers. I had use my porta loo or I wouldnt make at night
We were placed out in the tent area with our vans. Not the best area and also some distance from the amenities. Two toilet blocks in van area with only 3 toilets in each one..certainly no where near enough for the amount of people staying!! Has a great camp kitchen. If you want peace and quiet..you wont get it here as it is right on the road.
Low toil e t pans uncomfortable for older folks. A strange decision installing these in every cubicle. Its not a kindergarten!Needs a toilet in the unpowered area, across the creek. Good communication prior to arrival
A lovely caravan park. Great facilities, helpful staff and lovely surrounds. It’s close to the road so you do hear noise from trucks in the early hours of the morning, and cars during the day. But otherwise beautiful birds and nature sounds. We stayed close to the dump point, which we knew, and got some occasional whiffs of sewage smell when people emptied their tanks but nothing zipping our tent didn’t fix. Clean bathrooms, great outdoor kitchen area, easy access to many wineries and the Riesling trail.
Beautiful caravan park love the big gum trees and the bird are beautiful dog friendly park . Only down for is thay dont have a fence of park to let your dogs have a run. That would be great. And on the creek side thay need to mark out your caravan spot better we only had a small spot cos over camper tolk up all the room . But great stay 👌
Have been parked right down in the back paddock. Our amenities is a port a loo. 5 minutes walk to go to amenities and laundry by the time I come back so hot 40 deg days. We are paying the same amount of money as the people up the top with NO benefits. Greywater going straight on ground all soaps and washing powder. Do not book so many vans in. It is a disgrace were we have been parked should of gone free parking exactly the same facitlies, The only difference we have power.
We paid here at Clare for a membership with Discovery Caravan Parks because we have had a couple of great experiences with this company before. Unfortunately this one at Claire was disappointing. The staff do not care. The pool was closed without explanation. On the whole we were very disappointed with our first member experience. It left a sour feeling for us and we are regretting our decision to pay $50 to join your chain. We would not recommend the Claire Valley Discovery Caravan Park. We hope that in future we may be able to stay at a Discovery caravan park that we receive what we pay for.
Stayed here twice now and each time a faultless experience. I stayed in a 2BR cabin both times and while I didnt use all of the parks many facilities, I can easily see why it is so popular with groups and families. It really is a destination in itself with great (and safeplay equipment for kids and lots of open, shady space.
The management went over and above to facilitate the installation of a 65in tv on the day. After some unforeseen circumstances and very short staffed the park could not set up the AFL Grand Final event as planned. The Manager and her husband then purchased a large tv and mounted on the camp kitchen wall late on Saturday just prior to the AFL Grand Final, along with some beverages, nibbles and team colour balloons. Many campers had planned to stay at the park and watch the game as a planned event and it was looking in doubt until park management pulled of a miracle for sports lovers. Bering in mind they also had all the other daily tasks of running a large caravan park to with a very reduced staff.Big hugs to the Manager it would have been quite stressful. The park itself is fantastic, open fire place and pizza ovens, very green and some very majestic gum trees studded throughout the park. Additionally the Care Valley tourist centre is right next to the park and provides great coffee and wines.
A nice caravan park. Well laid out with plenty of space. Clean bathroom & toilet facilities. Only issue for me was the unfortunate proximity to the highway - lots of trucks meant lots of noise!
Such a fantastic place to sit and unwind. Have stayed on several occasions and have always been extremely pleased with the quality of the cabins. The heater on so you are walking into a warm comfortable cabin. Everything you need is there and ready for your wonderful stay.
Great park to stay. We stayed in a beautiful cabin with 2 double beds. Beds were comfy. Everything was cleaned well. Shower was amazing but watch out as the pressure was very strong ( great for your back. The Fauna Reserve was great for a quick walk right behind the cabins. Bouncy pillow and bike track for the kids. Reverse cycle was great! Will definately be back.
We have just spent 3 days at this park on an unpowered site right up the back of the park. Even though we were in a lovely quiet spot we were not impressed with the lack of amenities. To supply 4 porta loos is not acceptable to accommodate around 100 people during the school holiday. Let alone to run out of toilet paper and hand towel. I feel that the overhead power cables that were duct taped together then into a joint box were also a bit dangerous. We went down for showers only to have to wait as there was only 3 toilets an showers in the other blocks. I think that spending money on the amenities should be of utmost importance. Dont think we will be back.
Great amenities & location. Communal kitchen was very clean, had dish washing liquid and scratchies to use. Good value at $35 for 2 people. Bathroom sinks didnt have plugs.
Lovely campground, perfect location not far from the town centre and riesling trail. Visited on a long weekend so understandably facilities were maxxed out but the staff were good and coped really well.Had a flat battery and needed to borrow a pair of jumper leads and was told by a staff memeber that company policy does not permit lending to guests which is a bit weird in my book especially in the "hospitality" business. That was the only dissapointment to an otherwise great experience.
Lovely park , mostly good atmosphere and lots to do for the kids. Things that could be improved would be ; more shady spots , especially the scooter zone , bbq facilities cleaned more often as they were all filthy and cabins properly cleaned before guests arrival. Our cabin had a filthy microwave , dirty cutlery and glasses were filthy. Where responsibility lies upon previous guest to clean up , final responsibility lies with cleaning staff which in our case was obviously overlooked. When paying $250+ per night , a nice clean cabin can be expected.
A nice place.for a quick and quiet get away from the city. Very well maintained with lots of outdoor activities and cycling options. The Economy Cabins are good enough for 2. Wish they were slightly bigger. Quite a busy place for caravans.
Great caravan park, kids loved the bouncing pillow and bmx track. Our cabin was clean and comfortable, complimentary hand sanitiser was nice. Staff were friendly and accommodating of a late check out. We stayed 2 years ago for a wedding and had to come back.
Very friendly helpful staff. Disappointed considering a long weekend and the grass wasnt cut down in preparation... dandelions and bees ...portable toilets needed extra regular cleaning due to the large amount of campers ..large group of campers in the unpowered site up till 0200 am rowdy (not the managers fault....road noise from the highway but no issue really over the creek...great for kids with the pool and bouncy castle...TIP dont go on school holidays if your looking for a quiet time....on the whole a lovely family caravan park...Ive been there before with no issues and loved it...definitely would go back
Absolutely loved this place; clean modern facilities and nice level sites. The gravel pull through sites are definitely the way to go, the creek side sites are a big walk to the toilet and the creek is just a dry fully anyhow.Close enough to town to be convenient, was a really good base of operations to explore the wineries!
Without a doubt the best campsite weve ever stayed in. Powered site was a decent size, the toilets/showers were spotless, the park itself is really beautiful, near town in stunning countryside. The staff were great, we hired bikes and did a 40km cycle along the Riesling trail, perfect seeing that we only stopped because I had had enough of driving, we were heading to the Barossa but stayed in Clare instead, Im so happy we did. We will definitely be back but for longer next time!
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed it. The camp kitchen is huge with gas burners and an oven. The amenities were clean and swimming pool lovely to cool off in on hot afternoons. The park is on the southern edge of Clare. The information centre is located next to the park so thats handy.
The amenities are very clean and well maintained. The caravan sites have plenty of room. There are plenty of cabins. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The pool and children play areas are kept clean and tidy.Excellent camp kitchen and dont even have to use your own plates and utensils as all supplied.Plenty of barbecue areas. This is definitely a place we will visit again
Such a beautiful park!Stayed in an economy cabin and was very basic impressed. The cabin was basic, but had everything I needed, and was very comfortable. The amenities were great but the best part was the location and the acreage. Green luscious lawns and plenty of room to roam around. And to top it all off the staff are lovely and attentive. Will be back
