Festive country-western watering hole featuring live bands & a mechanical bull in casual environs.
Ok atmosphere but drinks are watered down
perfect for a crazy night
Refused to serve water needed for someone throwing up in the alley
they would not accept the fact that i’m queer ands I was an ouiar and my guitar is gone because so 8g. Disgusting
They don’t accept foreign IDs.
This was a fun spot for my wife and I to spend the night after dinner while traveling through Boise. As to other reviews, no its not purely a western bar. Its a bar/club with a dance floor playing more club oriented country tunes. Fun time if you arent expecting old country. The crowd was mostly younger but we felt right at home and we are 37 and 32. The mechanical bull was fun, as always, but a bit steep at $5 per ride. The operator wasnt the best but not horrible either. Worth one ride IMO.The drinks are indeed overpriced, but not too horrible. $3 for a bud light, $5.75 for a PBR tall boy. More club prices than bar prices, but thank God no cover. The vibe felt really chill. Didnt take much booze to have a fun time. Bartender even walked around and took orders. If I lived here, we would likely come again. Not all the time, but maybe once or twice a year.
friendly staff, can handle the drunks. olivia good sport. will be coming back
Great staff clean and all the employees are work great together and are very in sync with one another
One of the most overrated bars in Boise. The drinks are over priced, the staff is super rude and unprofessional. If youre looking for an authentic country western bar this isnt it.
Drinks were super weak, and the floor was soaking wet, like the whole floor.
This place is alot of fun. Admittedly the service can be a little slow on the weekends but that is only because ALOT of people will be at this place. The Mechanical bull is a ton of fun and I would definitely recommend this spot.
A fine establishment. Enjoy working security there. The manager and headed security are both quite fair and understanding
I am not a fan of country music...but the atmosphere and people made the bar fun!
When we entered the first thing I noticed was the place was packed beyond capacity. The second thing I noticed was a girl passed out on the couch that was being ignored. An employee walked right by her and didnt even bother to see if she was OK. Only after telling the bouncer out front did anyone do something. Lastly the music volume was painfully loud. I was there for only a few minutes before I had enough.
Roddys is fun... IF YOU WANT TO BE DEAF THE NEXT DAY. The music is far too loud and makes me feel like I’m in a 2008 country movie. The dj at graineys sleeps easy knowing his competition. This is a great bar if you would like to be hit on by creepy cowboys and wake up without audio. TBH GRAINEYS OR BUST!
Its a little dirty, but lets be honest, thats why we love it. Id give it ten stars if I could.
if you lose your phone they take it same night and lock it in a box, was visiting from another state and now have to find a way to get my phone shipped to me since you cant pick it up over the weekend.
Nice crowd nice atmosphere the bartenders the doorman waitresses are all pleasant the bull is fun to ride its a great little place to go spend the evening with some friends
Service could use some work. My drinks were forgotten and a White Claw was $7.50 on hip hop night.
This is a fun bar. If you want to dance and party in a crowd, its your go-to bar. It has a mechanical bull. Great price on drinks.
Absolutely LOVE this bar! Good music and good drinks. All the bartenders are super nice and they pay attention to the customers. You won’t find another bar in Boise where you can ride a bull! 10/10 recommend!!
THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE IN BOISE!Thursday Hip Hop night - Friday’s are crazy. Saturday’s are always amazing.See you guys there!!
Their bouncers are out of control. Friday night I stepped outside to have a cigarette. Then they wouldnt let me back in. Turns out they had beat my brother unconscious. They waited until the bar was closed until they called an ambulance. To conceal what they had done. The reason they didnt let me back in is because I would have found out what had happened.
Music was good. Staff was polite. Unless you drank the surgery well drinks; the drink prices were ridiculously expensive. Caters to a younger crowd. NOT a honky tonk.
Nice place, good music, and great price drinks.
Um??? Friday night I was in the bathroom waiting for my friends and gay man walked in with his girlfriends. No one commented on it or thought it was weird or anything. Idk, he’s just using the bathroom, not misbehaving. And at a country bar the men’s bathroom is probably kinda sketchy for a recognizable gay man, especially during pride month. Anyways, out of NOWHERE the freaking security busted in and dragged this guy out! Like violently it was insane! All of us were like ???? Why are you doing this??? I followed and tried to film it and they threw him out the door. it was so unbelievably excessive and unnecessary! I understand if you have rules for the safety of women in the bathrooms, but seriously? Just ask him to leave like the homophobes you are!!! Don’t potentially injure the guy for being afraid to use YOUR men’s bathroom. I saw the same security guard be super agro with several people that night. Completely unprofessional. Your bar patrons should not fear the security staff. Roddys has a definite liability on their hands and they need to handle it before they have a lawsuit pushing them!
Very rude security, overpriced and poor service. I WOULD NOT GO HERE. Unless you want to be antagonized by the security.
Great music. Downstairs dancefloor with old town vibes.
Fun spot for dancing!
Very crowded but very professional bartenders who are never stuck up & always friendly! Much appreciated-J.B
They charged me $23 for 2 shots of crown they served in plastic cups and the waitress was rude so she got NO TIP! Will not go again.
Yo, someone get yo mans off the mic. Talks to much. Messing up the vibes. Talks during the drop. (Also get a better DJ.need a dj that plays club hits. Transitions are wack. Wanna get the croud going crazy and up the amount of beers and drinks sold. Wanna make the club/bar be the best, you gotta be the best. Period. Girls are the highlight. If i see a group of beautiful women leaving its because the club/bar is wack. Make it the number one place in town. Time to change up. 100%
Weekends consist of country music and lively atmosphere, prices for cocktails and beer are at market value. No drink specials, so plan to spend some money.
Its okay. Cool vibe. Underground. Great location. Poor music choice for a Friday Saturday and Sunday. Especially for a college crowd. All they played was old rock n roll or boring country. This place is for like 40 yr olds, but marketed towards 20s. Back to silly Birch it is; where they actually play college age music.
They rip you off, bad. Ordered 4 drinks not even shots and total was 50? Alsooooo bartender demanded a higher tip. Theyre a joke.
Its a fun bar they have a mechanical bull that throws people around and great prices on beer!!! Plus their dance floor us decent sized.
A lil dead for a Thursday, but still a great place. Bartenders are on point!!!
Depending on your crown and scene and who is there in the mix of it all it can be a fun place to get wild
Service was terrible, $19 for a sex on the breach and water, seriously? DIRTY LITTLE ROBBERY sounds like a more appropriate name.
My friend and I got banned from the bar for the night cause we were too “intoxicated”. The real reason was my friend hit on one of bouncer who said his name was walker. So unbelievably ridiculous and I will not be going there anymore and I’m telling everyone about it
Thursday night, 7 people at the bar, 3 bartenders, and I stand at the bar for almost 5 minutes looking at the bartenders with pleading eyes. Please serve me! So I just sat at a table and enjoyed some free popcorn. Then the sweetest waitress actually did what she was hired to do and did it well. Thank you, Amber, you could teach the rest of these kids something about customer service.
The DJ sucks. A real cowboy bar wouldnt be playing pop country, like Luke Bryan, or hip hop music.
The atmosphere was horrible, the drinks were awful. Great dance area but that’s about it. Wouldn’t recommend at all.
If you want to solidify a recent loss of all faith in human decency, this is the best place within 200 miles.
Great music, awesome drink specials, friendly and attractive staff makes it an easy place to cut loose after work!
Had our card stolen off the bartender. Had to spend the night calling after our banks and fraud people. Poor security.
No other downtown bar has the same Western atmosphere, and the mechanical bull is entertaining for everyone!
Ive been going to DLR since I was 21, 4 years ago. SO disappointed in how I was treated as a patron. DJ is BEYOND rude. Requested a song as was belittled and talked down to. Im a girl and this 260+ lbs DJ felt like he needed security. WOW. Way to go Rodeys. WOW.
Its the cowboy bar, plays country, has a mechanical bull. Im not the cowboy type, but if you dont stop by while you are downtown having fun, you would be doing yourself a disservice.
I always had a great time there. This bar basically defines how a young western bar should be.
