What do u understand from this board? We were kalbarri beach resort guests and went inside.. the chef was very disrespectful and shouted us.. we were with 2 family and kids were waiting outside.. either the board should be written correctly or the chef should be sent for behaviour training..

Had to experience the Onion rings everyone was raving about. They were everything we thought they would be and more, crisp huge succulent and full of flavour. From there after , unfortunately it was downhill. 5 Assie meats on tge menu were unavailable, so one party opted for the seafood platter for 1, whilst the other party ordered the Chicken Breast Korma Curry. The seafood platter was ok, nothing to write home to mum about and the curry was.... to say the least..... not good. A beautiful curry should be accompanied by a cup of rice, whereas what we recieved was a huge bowl of rice with a ladle of sauce, with no sign of a chicken breast anywhere. The flavour was there, but far too much rice and far too less of chicken, mores it was like two tablespoons of pulled chicken in total . We will be back for the Onion rings, and the cheap cold beers but not for a main unfortunately. The place has so much potential but was lacking atmosphere.

I got a very average goat curry. Very bland, no spice, no real flavour. If the chef ever reads this please google carribean curry goat recipes. The sauces on our other meals all seemed like packet powdered sauce. Thats fine if thats what you like but expensive for the sort of meal an average home cook could rustle up. This place needs an experienced manager who would replace the chef or reduce the menu down to 6/7 options. Which might give the chef tbe chance to make their own saucesIts a great little venue but needs a proper manager and a proper chef.

Was reluctant to keep our booking tonight after reading the reviews but so glad we took a leap of faith. The 2 ladies who I may add were running the place all on there own put out some amazing food. The seafood platter was great value and when I asked for the fish to be grilled it was no problem. And the fish was to die for!!! Huge servings and very fresh. So glad we gave this local business a try!!!

Make sure to book ahead of time! But they managed to fit us in. A great meal, value for money and tasty! Large portions with a good atmosphere was great and staff were friendly. The Pie had great flavour and was very tasty!

Really enjoyed eating here I had Cajun chicken and my partner had steak and they were both great. The decor in the restaurant was really cool. And I have to commend the staff on how hard they are working ( it’s not easy at the moment to get staff due to COVID- they are doing the work of several staffthanks again for a great meal

Too many items on the menu that arent delivered to a high enough quality.Menu needs to be condensed/simplified and perfected. We got the top shelf platter which was unfortunately a little underwhelming.I love the theme they have and thats what drew me in, just needs to be done better.Unfortunately there are better places to eat in Kalbarri.

- Food was quite disappointing for what they have advertised. Each onion ring was half an onion itself, ingredients used for the main dishes were poor quality and poorly cooked, steak had no flavour or whatsoever.- Staff had poor menu knowledge and were mean.- Sofas were uncomfortable so had to move to a table. There are much better pub food options in Kalbarri.

We enjoyed a magnificent meal of Kangaroo, outback pie and prime rib. The service was extremely good and efficient and prices amazingly affordable. considering that like most small country towns finding staff hard to find, well done to the owners and staff

Extremely disappointing that you didnt advertise on your website that you were closed , we were in kalbarri from the 22Nov to 26Nov for our honeymoon, booked a table online via your website never to be told that you werent open, utterly disgusting way to run a business. Will never consider again coming to Kalbarri , utterly disgraceful , considering our state government wanted us to travel within our state . You should have more consideration for your prospective customers as initially I was extremely impressed with your modern website and up to date technical response to our reservation however big let down and unprofessional note attached to the door of your restaurant.

Extremely disappointed. My partner and I booked dinner over a month ago and we rocked up this evening excited for our dinner to find a "closed till Tuesday 24th" written on a piece of paper stuck to their entrance door. I understand businesses close and personal breaks are taken and needed but a courtesy notification advising that theyre closed goes a long way and would have been appreciated. We would have had time to find and organise somewhere else for dinner.

Went here after seeing mixed reviews but it was close by so thought we’d try it. Onions rings were great. All other food was good but nothing special. Had to order food, drinks and pay at the end all on one register, which made for a lot of waiting in line.

A feast of massive proportions. Not sure where to start so just bullet points● comfortable decor with an outback feel● happy hour 5-6pm every day, beer wine and cocktail discounts● parmigiana was huge and nicely cooked, the kids version was bigger than most places serve for adults (my bottomless stomach daughter barely managed half)● son had kids fish and chips which came with a slab of battered tender fish● the stars of the show which more people need to brave up and convert to were the game meats which are a speciality of the restaurant. While covid restrictions have unfortunately classed game as non essential for interstate (which is a bit ridiculous seeing as its better for you and mostly breeding out of controlwe still managed to get servings of crocodile, emu and roo.The emu and roo were served beautifully rare as they should be with great seasoning and damper on the side. Was very impressed with the battered croc, as a cook myself I know how temperamental it is and easy to overcook buy this was perfect, reflecting the skill of the kitchen. Was saddened to hear this place was for sale so you should check it out while you can, I for one will be going back to try some more of the tantalising menu.

Staff were very friendly, they could fit us in last minute no issues, the food was served quickly and absolutely delicious!! Perfectly cooked. We had warm damper, hubby had ranch rub rib eye (medium rare- perfect), i had drovers pie and apple pie with ice cream. The atmosphere is great, very well thought through decor and very aussie in many ways, love the mural and artworks. Would reccomend

The food was disgusting, the service was terrible, numerous times we had to wait while staff finished their conversation when they could clearly see us waiting. If I could give zero stars I would..Stay away!I never normally write reviews as I myself run a very successful bistro in Perth metro but this place was so bad!Ordered a med - well 500gm rump and it came out with in 10 mins of ordering, microwaved!Even got our entrees cold, before our drinks for the table were delivered ( which were only a soda water and a jug of coke)Everything seemed pre cooked and heated up by a microwave..Worst meals we have ever had and after spending over $100 on meals, Id expect a little better presentation. We had a sick family running back and forth to the toilet only hours later!Really disappointed, you would think a town that relies on tourists would have their act together. No wonder the place is up for sale! After sending a message and commenting on their Facebook page, I have been blocked!Extremely poor customer service and management.

Under cooked steak, cold (very coldmash potatos and vegetables and some of the rudest custom service I have ever seen. But in its defence, everywhere in kalbarri is the same.I think they know they have you over a barrel so they can get away with poor customer service, poor quality of food and the wate is crazy everywhere (90 min for fish and chipsand booking days in advance is the only way to get a seat at a restaurant.

I spent $38 on a steak that I left behind its a poor reflection on an establishment when the best part of the main course is the mash potatoes. We had a table booked for 6.30 got there and told sit wherever, then had to cue up for 15 minutes to order dinner. Service was average asked for a jug of water 3 times and never got any. Order an Emu Scallopini from the menu, itcit out in a small bowl with shop bought spaghetti. Probably the best thing served to us tonight was the kids fish and chips and even then the chips were average at best. Definitely would not recommend... I would give it 0 stars if possible, better food for half the price every where else in Kalbarri. Not kid friendly.

Went on a weekend trip with the family to Kalbarri last week. Visited this restaurant hoping to have a nice meal as we were exhausted driving all the way from Perth. The service was appalling, to least say. The waitresses ignored us for a start even with the restaurant only half filled. After waiting for a few minutes and yet to be seated, I had to call out to one of the waitress and ask to be seated. The tables were filthy and the way the tables were cleaned after meals was way below any restaurant/cafe standards. What really upset us most was the way we were treated. We were the only non whites on this occasion; we are of Asian background originally from Singapore but are now Australian citizens. A lady who walked around wearing a black shirt and appeared like a chef/owner went about talking with all the customers but when she came to our table, she stared at us with a disgusted look on her face and walked away. We are an easy going family but the attitude and the disrespect shown to my family and as paying customers, truly annoyed us. We were even horrified when our meals were served; the steak was full of fats with very little meat, the another was totally overcooked and the meat was tough to chew. We ended up paying a hefty price for dinner (youd realise they are over priced for a terrible restaurant serving poor quality food and horrible customer serviceand this left a sour taste in an otherwise beautiful Kalbarri trip. Individuals like this not only bring a bad reputation to Australians in general but also suppress Australia from becoming a first world nation in all sense. There is no place for biasness and disrespect in this time and era

Inedible, pretty sad to see a place stuff up deep fried chips, some were still a little frozen!Ordered a red wine pie would not be supprised if it was frozen multiple times, no liquid inside, store bough gravy drizzled ontop didnt help... also for a "Outback Pub" how can a place have no beer taps?Goodluck to the new owners when the sale is made, would be nice to see the place at potential.

We ordered a large array of food, some of which were disappointing but a highlight was the steak burger with the lot. The steak was cooked through but surprisingly it was still tender. The Turkish bun played well into the flavour of the steak. It ended up exploding but doesn’t it always. The rest of the meals were average at best even though they exhibited exotic meats. From a boar stew, to an emu noodle dish, to the deep fried crocodile the food was unfortunately bland and forgettable. The boar was so tender but the frozen veggies and mash potatoes let it down. The emu was very tough, the noodles were tough and the sauce was canned. The crocodile was also very tough and needed a mango chutney instead of slices, and a proper coleslaw.Definitely needs improvementEdit: There are is no such thing as customer service, one waitress plus the owner who was not happy to be here. Needs improvement

Good for basic food such as burgers but a massive let down on the food they claim to specialise in. Quite bland and chewy, the salt on the table was the most exciting thing about the meal.Staff are nice enough though you can sense the apathy with a couple team members.

DO NOT GO HERE! Head down to the Pickled Pelican or Galgai Tavern for a nice meal. The place was dead on a Sat night during school holidays over the Xmas break. No tap beers. Waiters spoke very poor English. Ordered 3 steaks cooked medium, got one well done, one way rare and one the third blue. The waiter spilled an entire drink over my mother while serving (needed a shower afterwardsand the more experienced wait staff never even addressed the issue. The poor young bloke was left to appologise repeatedly like Manual off Faulty Towers, with no word from the manager or her staff. We were offered a $17.50 discount for soft drink on a $275 bill. Never again!

Very nice place. Staff super friendly, service is fast and prompt. They have specials from emu, camel etc. Nice music, great interior design features. The beer buttered onion rings are really home made and a must to try. I dont really recommend the spaghetti bolognese (literally there wasnt any spaghetti, just the ragubut all the rest was really 5 stars! They have a challenge as well (the infamous blown diff burger). If you can finish it alone with the chips within 20 minutes you get the meal for free! ☝️See my pictures! Highly recommended! Will definitely visit again.

Friendly enough staff, but food was dreadful. Looked like it had been thrown on the plates after coming out of a packet or the microwave. The place smelt really bad, not sure if it was that or the food which made me ill but wouldn’t ever go back. Tried to get an ice cream for the kids tonight, but they were apparently too busy to knock up 2 cones. Pretty poor for a resort restaurant and ice-creamery. Far better places down the road to eat, disappointed is an understatement.

The staff were very friendly but they lost our order, though we were the first customers in at 6pm and the second table to order. We finally got the two kids meals at 7.45pm though the little ones were tired, grumpy, hungry and falling asleep by that point. The adult meals took another 20 minutes after that, though mum didnt get to eat hers as she took the kids back to the accommodation. The food was nice when it finally arrived and the waitress explained that the chef was away so they had a stand in for today. They took our drinks off the bill by way of apology but its not how Id hoped our last (and onlyfamily meal out in Kalbarri was going to go.

What a great place. I went for dinner with my partner and booked as it was Easter wknd. It was very quiet but it was 8pm and they were beginning to wind down. We didnt mind as there was plenty of atmosphere there. Great decor and music. The staff were very friendly and helpful with advice on food and portions etc. We had one of the meat platters and it was stunning. A real authentic taste of aussie food. The kangaroo was cooked perfectly, crocodile was stunning and buffalo meatballs were tasty. Best bit was fresh warm damper and butter...brilliant place and best in kalbarri!

Unfortunately, this has been one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life.Awful wines tasting like vinegar (bottle that’s been open for a while?), steaks so bloody they seemed like it could still walk, chicken parmi that looked like it came straight out of the freezer, meatballs that managed to be burnt and just above room temperature at the same time, over fried fries that even the kids wouldn’t touch. The list goes on and on. You could forgive one or two failed dishes but there wasn’t a single person at our table even remotely satisfied with what they got.We expected a typical tourist restaurant with above average prices but edible albeit boring dishes. What we got were dishes so bad it seemed like it was cooked that way on purpose. The faces of the other guests when we left told us it wasn’t a coincidence.Never again

DONT DO IT!After reading terrible reviews, we thought wed give it a shot as it was close... The reviews were right - chicken parmi was burnt and very dry (like cutting through a boot& Rib eye was a lovely cut, well cooked steak... sadly killed under a pound of rub, drowning any chance of flavour. Both had a salad - pile of lettuce, some carrot and cabbage on top and a single piece of tomato and beetroot. This casual restaurant is quantity over quality. Positives are its kid friendly and HUGE servings... Were still never going back.

This has the potential to be a great restaurant. The owners used to own a sheep station and brought a lot of their equipment to the restaurant - this gives it a great atmosphere, along with giant murals painted onto the walls. The staff are friendly but the food was generally overcooked (soggy carrots and well cooked steakand too salty - even the kids food. Such a disappointment as I wanted to love this place.

To be honest I was a bit worried about going back here since we had had two not so good experiences about 12 months ago, but we are so glad we did give it another go! Saw some advertising about some specials and new management so thought why not give it a try. We went on the Wednesday night which is now a new special grill night with some cheap options, $20 sirloin steak, $15 rump steak and $15 chicken breast. I ordered the sirloin and the choices of sauce was mushroom or pepper and so I asked to pay extra and have both which was not a problem and I must say both were obviously made in house and were both delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked and the chips were crunchy and tasty. The small side salad was fresh and crispy and was enough as it was all quite filling and very good value for $20. Husband had the same with mushroom gravy which he said had some noticeable garlic in it and he was impressed with the flavour and as he is the gravy guru that is a huge compliment. The son had the rump and although slightly overcooked was still very tender and tasty. It was obvious the meat is of high quality. Still short on staff as is most of the restaurants in Kalbarri, so drinks were slow to come but apologies were made without us saying anything. Very nice new management eager to please. If you dont like your dinner on a cutting board they will even put it on a plate for you if you ask. So if you havent been for a while or had some bad experience in the last 12 months, I highly recommend that you give them another go, were glad we did.

Dont waste your time. Tastier food at the other restaurants/pubs in Kalbarri. Shocking table service, 3 different waitresses asked us if we were ready to place our order, then disappeared telling us they needed to get pen and paper. Entree then took quite an extended amount of time to arrive - 1 small platter. The drinks arrived sometime after that. Atmosphere was dull at best. The place appeared very unorganised. We didnt order beyond the entree as it was not as expected - italian sausage platter with crackers and cheese. The cheese was sweaty when it arrived and appears to be kraft slices. The italian sausage was pre-packaged salami that had been fried. Not pleasant.Would not recommend.

The food was between ordinary to obsurd. At best only 40% was eaten. This place belongs on Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares.
