The wall of bones above the visitor center was amazing! Every kids dream who loves dinosaurs. The hikes around the homestead were beautiful and the history very interesting. Petroglyphs hikes were short and worthwhile!I even became a Jr. Ranger! A great experience for all ages!!!Don’t miss the ranger talks either. Learned a lot and fun!

Seeing the exposed dinosaur bones at the quarry exhibit was such a cool experience. The petroglyphs were also really interesting as was the Josie Morris homestead. There were quite a few hiking trails that I would have explored more if it wasnt so hot. Overall, it was a great way to spend a couple hours and see some ancient history.

Amazing Park! Amazing Road and Free to travel by car! We came from monument Valley and were on the way to Yellowstone. Some local told us about the area and said it would be worth the visit! We did go there and it was absolutely stunning. And the best: No Cost at all.

Spent nearly 7 hours inside the park and adjoining BLM land and didnt possibly see it all. Enjoyed the tram ride to the bone quarry, and the drive out Cub to the homestead. Also hiked along one of the box canyons, and did a few of the petroglyph trails. There is so much to see and do! Staff was nice and alot of the scenic things are accessible via short, yet stony, walks.

I cannot recommend this overlooked park enough. As a high school science teacher I learned a TON that I will use in my classes from now on. We hiked Ruple Point, Harpers Corner, and the Fossil Discovery trail. The fossil wall was absolutely amazing! Being able to touch a 100 million year old fossil was incredible. I would love to come back. (Plus we rafted the Green River and got to see the end of Ruple Points viewpoint!)

We really enjoyed the short hike where we were able to see fossils on our own. The wall of dinosaur skeletons was mind blowing! The Native American artwork was the icing on the cake. Its worth the drive.

Great exhibit with several easy hikes which are well marked. It is also easily accessible for those that cant hike/walk due to a shuttle from the visitors center to the exhibit. The kids loved being able to touch dinosaur bones and fossils.

I have only visited the South side in Colorado and Utah so far! But it is so beautiful. I loved hiking and exploring here. Utah is a lot less dog friendly than Colorado. There are many petroglyphs that are viewable along some of the roads. Camping for most places needs to be reserved ahead of time. I believe deerlodge park is first come, first served. Dont just stop at the visitors centers, there is so much to view in the monument!! Whispering Cave and the petroglyphs trail right before this stop, Wagon Wheel Point, Echo Park (not dog friendly), Harpers Corner Overlook, Harper Corner RD (many overlooks), Plug Hat Overlook, Deerlodge park (trails and camping), Sand Canyon, are all places Ive been and were very much worth it.

This is the most amazing place. The Wall of Bones looks like something Walt Disney created… but it’s real… a riverbed littered with hundreds (thousands?of dinosaur bones… some of which you can touch. It’s a spectacular facility that tells the story of life and death in the age of dinosaurs. Bring water, good shoes and a hat. Kids will love this place. I’m coming back - when it’s cooler! Oh the staff and the tram are great!

What a breathtaking experience. The Quarry was great and amazing to be able to touch a fossil! The Dark Sky was my favorite part, seeing the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxy and an airglow! Petroglyph sites were humbling and worth visiting all of them. Driving around just to see the different rocks is also recommended. So many stunning views.Weather was hot and on/off showers, but so worth it. Saw lizards, chipmunks, warblers, and other animals.Green River Campground is lovely and partially shaded. Campsite #2 has breathtaking views! All park facilities were clean and theres a lot of accessibility and information. Would go back again!

It was pretty cool seeing the donosaur bones in the quarry. The building was clean and had a lot of hand sanitizer around. They had some hikes that you could take and a few other areas to visit. Over all this site would take a day to see and do basically all there is here.

Yes, do come see the fossils, but thats not all. The petroglyphs and pictographs throughout the area were fun to discover. Josies homestead and story was a great way to share pre-modern life with the kids.

I ❤️ Dinos! We had been to the CO side, so a stop on the Utah side just the ticket. The original quarry building opened the year I was born. Seeing the fossils--amazing! Nice, knowledgeable staff.A bonus was being able to 🚗 the park since it was hot. Nicely marked. No Peregrine Falcons, but did see a male Black-headed Grosbeak.Good time of the year to stop in too. Support your local, & not so local parks. That is the Green River that swiftly flows through the park. And yes, it is actually green. Go have fun!

The wall of fossils is interesting and a unique experience. The Utah side of the National Park is where youll find fossils and several pictograms. However, after 2 hours we had exhausted all activity options. The Query entrance gift shop is small with limited options and no actual fossils, only replicas which look okay but for the price I would have expected actual fossils. The scenery could be amazing to those who arent accustomed to the views of the Rocky mountains, but if you live around or in the area then the cliffs and mountains will be just moderately note worthy.

This is a cool place to go if you have some his to kill. This specific building isnt that amazing but the entire site that you can hike or drive is really cool. Pack a lunch, done water, and the kids and check out some real fossils and petroglyphs. Its not AMAZING only because the entire site is so spread out that its not like meandering through the zoo or a museum, but it is a great hike, or if you have little one, a fun drive around the area.

First visit since childhood. The Quarry Exhibit is even more stunning to me now. Massive assemblage of Jurassic fossils left in-situ in Morrison stone outcrop. Many skeletons still articulated. Later we visited Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh to see rest of collection, bit far better to seem them here first.

I absolutely loved this park and so did the kids. The quarry was really neat with 2 story building with a wall full of a ton of different dinosaur bones and species. We also camped, did some hiking, and river swimming in the park. The mountains are very beautiful. We saw a lot of wildlife (turkeys, deer, chipmunks, etc). The only downsides to the park was the heat during the summer and some people vandalized the ancient Hieroglyphs, which I was really bummed about.

Amazing geo- and paleontological formations! Just driving near the west entrance is intriguing as the landscape looks torn open at the exit of Split Mountain Canyon! The fossil wall is an incredible find, well-preserved, and worth checking out!!

All I can say is plan for two days minimum. One day for the UT dinosaur & one day for CO Canyon side! Get the driving & walking tour guides from the shops! Well worth the couple of dollars for the education. My wife and I had a great two days exploring on the easy & moderate hikes.

The quarry is just unbelievable, so much a difference experience from the old style museum set up. I was there with my 12yrs old son and he thoroughly enjoyed it, reading all the signs and asking questions. The rest of the park is ok, but you dont see much exciting stuff out on the trails, so if there is one thing not to miss is the quarry!

Because we took the wrong way to the park and we traveled over forty miles on dirt road, we accidentally entered the most northern part of Dinosaur Monument Park, at a place called the Gates of Lordore. The park ranger, Doug, who has a sign on his office that says "Beware of Doug", told us that twice daily someone, like us, asks him to see some bones only to be told that its not likely. We were over 130 mi from where we should have been to see the bones. He said that, recently, a family from Iraq showed up looking for bones and they were out of fuel. He helped them out of course. This place is in the middle of nowhere! This has been one of the most fun driving days my wife and I have had in years.

My family is from the Basin so I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. We hadn’t been in over a decade so my two youngest kids had never been here. We visited on 9-6-21 about 3pm. Not much has really changed as I remember. It’s great place to see the history of the area. However the ranger on staff at the quarry was rude and condescending. One of my kids had a question and when I asked him, his response was “maybe if you had read the signs you’d find out for yourself.” Guess what? We did. The answer to our question was not there. Isn’t it his job to know about the site and help instruct kids? One of the kids had another question and was afraid to ask for fear they would be berated again. That guy needs some training.

If you love dinosaurs you need to check out this place. The Quarry Exhibit Hall was awesome and does allow you to touch a real dinosaur bone. The monument is not very close to any major cities. We flew to Denver for a few days and drove 5 hours to get to Dinosaur. Pack food and drinks, it took us 30 minutes to get something to eat outside the park. Overall a great experience and would love to come back if we are ever in the area again.

Was staying in Vernal, Utah on my way to Sturgis. We were settled into the hotel and I decide to ride out to Dinosaur National Monument. The park was closed but the roads were open and you could ride through the scenic park. We cross and follow the Green River along the way and it is just a beautiful place to ride or drive through.I saw some of the signage for the dinosaur fossils that they have found in the area. I need to spend some time here when it is open and explore the fossil history.

Beautiful scenery and an amazing display! I could stare at that fossil wall for hours. The trail from the gift shop to the fossil wall was a good hike, but hot, and you could see some petroglyphs and other "wild" fossils along the way. Bring water!

Quite a stark beauty with such life all around. Wished we had the time to go all the way up to the turn around, but were limited with our time. Even though we did drive past the canyon overlook by 11 miles. But we saw some very cool views.

Really amazing seeing all of the fossils still in the hillside and all of the layers. They even had real fossils still embedded in the stone that you were able to touch. There is a tram that will take you from the bottom location up to the top.If you do the fossil trail hike, even though it is only about 3/4 of a mile, it is recommended to start at the top and go down. Additionally the trail is probably not great for little kids and make sure you have water because it gets really hot.

This is a well known National Monument. Known for its findings of dinosaur bones. This area also has some very incredible scenery and sits right on the Green River. There are beautiful campgrounds and many different hiking trails. Some related to dinosaur artifacts and others are just nice hikes through the surrounding areas. All in all a pretty interesting spot to visit.

Wife and I planned to visit the Dinosaur National Monument on our road trip, even though it was out of the way, and we are so happy we did. This is a gem in the desert and very family friendly. Kids will learn about history, dinosaurs and see really great views.Of course it depends on when you go due to weather. We went in early May and the weather was mid to high 60s and sunshine with some clouds. We spent more time at this park than many others we visited and it was not loaded with wall to wall people. Was a total of 7 hours to enjoy it all. Would highly recommend this place for a great day of hiking and exploring. ;)

Fantastic park to spend a day. It always surprises me how different each park is but I love it. If you can definitely dont skip the fossil discovery trail. It was the perfect lead up to the quarry. My little boy loved finding things along the trail including lizards, rabbits and the fossils. The quarry is breath taking. Well definitely be going back for another trip and more hikes.
