Meenakshi Nursery Garden, Kodaikanal Road, Begambur, Batlagundu, Tamil Nadu 624001, India, Dindigul
Established in 1957, this simple restaurant chain specialises in home-style biryani dishes.
Taste average rate tooo high really I experienced very bad with them pricing.. spends 400 for half button biriyani + Paya rate paid 1700+ for 4 half biriyani
Not value for money... Not satisfied by their taste and quantity... I bought mutton biryani for 350rs but its really not taste well and not value for money... we spent around 1800rs and its really waste...
Too much costly and quantity also less..utter waste of money..never suggest this creep restaurant to any one..
Bit overpriced and the quantity is less when compared to the amount we pay..we ordered a combo in which the Mutton biriyani was really good..but then due to the less quantity we had to order extra so ordered chicken biriyani which was not at all good..staffs and service was good.
No Briyani available and worst service. Most irresponsible staffs
White rice and rasam not supplied as combo as in other part of Tamilnadu. Moreover white rice was not good
Average taste. May be over expectation perspective to brand name. They have advertised Biryani with egg but it looks it comes to your plate at additional cost 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It is located near market, no parking and wash room facilities! You can get traditional chicken and mutton dishes
A bigger outlet and good parking available, costlier when its come to quantity. Friendly staff. Went there for just briyani which was average against the hype given.
Useless people. Only by name and fame its runnning. No AC and fan there. But refused to put. Adamant people. This will be my last visit. Worst experience.
Waste hotel mutton all old piece. Properly no cooking biriyani. All used machine.
Its okay provided ample car parking and late night seating. Everyone prefers Venu Biryani in localhood here
This is the first branch started as dindigul thalappakatti, taste was good but always my top notch goes to venu briyani.
Washing basin for hand wash is very ugly and not working properly. Otherwise biriyani is super 💞
Horrible experience! The quality of food is worst, few years back the food and service was excellent. I think since they have expanded, they are focusing only on maximizing profits and not on quality of service. The authentic taste of Thalpakati has vanished . Suggest non of you to visit Thalpakatti.
They couldnt control the crowd. Other thalapakatti branches served tasty food compared to Dindigul branch.
A worst Briyani hetel, poor service, even water suppliers were not ready to serve. Supervising staff were not there. If the hotel is in the present condition, it may be clossed soon. Once a person visited will never go the side of the hotel. I have paid Rs 649 for two Briyani which seems to be a vaste.
I was much fascinated by the hype given to this restaurant,so I wanted to try a mutton biryani from here. The food was good and highly priced. The price could be because of the fact that the ingredyare grinted in a grint stone. Heavy queue for eating biryani.Briyani quantity also not worth for price.. Cheated. Mutton briyani taste also not good.
I was visited on April 7, 2022. I had ordered 2 chicken biriyani , one mutton kola and one pepper chicken. They billed around Rs.1000. We only ate half the pot of biriyani because it tasted so bad.Mutton kola was deep fried with the worst taste. And pepper chicken, even with soy sauce, is terrible food that I will never eat again in my life.
Heard a lot about this place from my friends.just had mutton biryani here.the mutton biryani came with 4 coin sized pieces.i fail to understand in which world does a rs.300+ biryani come with 4 tiny pieces.i guess in thalappakatti, thats what you get.and the taste was mediocre at best.i humbly invite the owners of thalappakatti to delhi, to try the biryani at Karims.its insulting to offer people what you offer at your establishment.please do justice to your big name and improve your quality and quantity.
The quantity was good for a single person to eat enough, and the raitha was more than enough, overall it was good in taste and packing was neat in a paper box
Overpriced (for the legacy). If trying thalapakatti in dindugal is in your bucket list, then try it out. Very less options but the shop is open till 12am. Taste is decent but not for the price
Very good food with friendly employers. Taste is fantastic. But price are little high. If you want to taste biriyani go by afternoon it is good time to eat biriyani because they will serve you in hot. If you go by evening or night time at sometimes the biriyani will be dry and cold and it will not taste good. My suggestion is go in afternoon to taste hot biriyani.
Not what I expected from the location which brought out the meaning for South indian biryani !!! The biriyani was super dry and very average, seerakasamba samba biriyani originated from this place but they just spoilt the name of authenticity. The true biriyani must be a little moist and the mutton should literally melt in the mouth, they used to be that way but I am so disappointed with them ! Only solace was the quality of service , the servers were amazing with the customer service. Hence the two stars else it would have been below 1 star !Btw 3 small super dry pieces of mutton in the biryani for INR 300 is atrocious !!!My two cents avoid this place and goto venu biryani if youre in Dindigul ! Dont waste your money here.
After a long wait i got a chance to taste thalapakatti biryani. Staffs were friendly and welcoming. Quite small dine in area. Parking facilities are available. Weve ordered mutton briyani, chicken biryani and few side dishes. To be frank we was quite disappointed. Mutton biryani was superb and tastes good, apart from that, everything else was very average. Chicken biryani was total disappointment. Coming to side dishes, they think they are serving for babies, even for babies the quantity they provide wont be enough. They give 50-100 gms and also the cost is sky high. Even some side dishes are costlier than biryani. My final thoughts are, if you want to taste unique mutton biryani give a one time visit, you wont be disappointed. But keep your expectations low on other dishes. Hope they improve on upcoming days.
Well cooked Mutton biriyani. All food items were very delicious and the service was really good.Best spot for non-vegetarian lovers and good to have dine-in with family and friends with decent spacious.Quantity is good and quality of the food is excellent. Pricey, but worth for the taste.
The biriyani was awesome but the cleanliness of the hotel is very poor. Not comfortable to dine in.
I never experienced such a worst customer service and food also not up to the mark. Chennai branches better than this one.
Finally went to this restaurant after a long wait. Heard about Thalappakatti Biryani long time ago from a friend. Visited this place while traveling from Kodaikanal to Hyderabad. The Mutton Biryani is just divine and flavoursome. Dont judge by the looks of restaurant. Staff are really welcoming and friendly. Chicken Biryani is also good but it cant match the taste of Mutton Biryani. Must visit restaurant, if youre anywhere near Dindigul its worth going there. Must try Mutton special biryani. Note: It has limited seating.
Thalapakatti biryani but service responsibility is bad to here rs road branch
First time I visited the dindigul birgani while am traveling madurai to Nellore the roads are narrow from highway almost 2-3km from highway very excited to taste the Biryani after reaching and tasting the Biryani its average no salt normal taste even we ordered mutton chaps its also same rich they used is cut rice finally the cost expensive and taste average.
Taste is not good olden days it was good .You are expanding the branches all over the world but taste and quality differs . Make concentration on taste you people only need money.
I didnt feel anything extra ordinary there. Taste like normal biriyani. Branding is actually doing there..
Being a vegetarian, its almost unfair for me to rate this eatery...This place is a paradise for non-vegetarian eaters.. Google maps accurately takes you to this place from the NH48.. Dont fret if you find yourself entering smaller lanes..just follow the maps..this place has sufficient parking space and a helpful gentleman to help you park..no valet though..The place is almost always crowded... especially in the afternoon and weekends(obviously)..The quality and quantity of the biriyani is good..and there is enough variety for vegetarians too..topped off a veg biriyani with a cool jigarthanda(a madurai special drink)...nice experience!
I think they are charging us for the TV adds and the for the sake of Brand name. The briyani quantity they gave will not be enough even for a 5 year old child. But they charge us 230 Rupess per briyani. On top of it they charge us GST blah blah. So for two of us it cost 479 Rupees and hell I’m not satisfied. Their service is kinda worst, we were forced to leave with just two menus as they intentionally delayed our orders and kept asking our orders atleast for 5 times. My opinion is they charge us for their TV ads and for promotions. I ll never visit this place again. By the way, its not even Airconditioned restaurant
Food is just ok..too much hype about the place..costlier compared to venu..slow service
Awesome food, barota takes loads of time to get served. Overall a great place for authentic Biriyani.
Nowadays taste is getting decreased. And they increase the price level doubled. The food we ate did not satisfy us.
Worst food and service too.. Found an iron piece and plastic paper in Mutton biriyani.. donno whether it is Mutton biriyani or plastic biriyani..
Awesome food.. Worth trying.. especially biriyani & peri peri chicken
Good food.. Love the taste... Recommended peri peri chicken..
Nice ambience. Helpful staff. Food was ok. But less quantity. We had walked all the way from Dindigul Jn. Railway station. None of the Auto drivers ready to drop us there due to heavy traffic.
A paradise for biriyani lovers serving both veg and non veg biriyani...
Very good food place nice infrastructure..... service is very pretty.. mutton biryani is yummy but rice difference in plain biryani when compared to mutton biryani rice....much less of mutton pieces in mutton biryani when compared to venus briyani... other any nice foodies
Biryani is good but service has to improve ,if service is improved it will be satisfied
Pretty much NO SERVICE. Ask for an item and it wont be added to their order list for next 30 min. After adding itll take another 1 hour to come to your table. Pathetic Pathetic Service. Never ever; ever ever; ever again will visit this restaurant!
Nice Ambient place to dine with.. Staffs are well mannered and cooperative.. Tasty food.. Cost wise cheaper when compared to other restaurants of this kind...
Good place to have loads of biryani, authentic Biryani with good options of appetizers. You can visit this place with friends and family, ambiance is ideal , price is affordable. Clean place to eat
Good foodSmall quantitiesGreat tasteModerate rate
June 4th myself and my family went for lunch we sat in table T-45 on the 1st floor.Being a local guide of google I click picture every where I go. I started to click picture BUT THE HOTEL EMPLOYEE CAME AND TOLD ME NOT TO CLICK PICTURE IN A RUDE MANNER.I TOLD HIM I AM CLICK PICTURE FOR GOOGLE REVIEWS. HE TOLD WE NO NEED GOOGLE REVIEWS BECAUSE WE HAVE GOOD REPUTED NAME ALREADY SO WE ARE NOT WORRIED AND CARED OF GOOGLE REVIEWS. AND ORDER ME NOT TO CLICK PICTURE.Now lets talk about food and serviceDindigul was the birth place of Thalappakatti hotels but Dindigul branch is going to spoil the name and reputation because food is poor and service is also bad. Service boy is throwing the plates and no proper response if we need anything like extra onion or mayonnaise you won’t get itThe man who took order was very busy slapping and kicking the Hindi service boy for some reason and no ready to take order for ANY customers. There was family next to us. They left the hotel because they sat in a table they plates was not clean for long time. They keep on informing the boy to clean and take order but no one minded. So they left the hotel. When we asked what are juice menu available. He gave a response by tell the name so that we will feel that you no need to drink juice go out of hotel .Like their answer was in the manner of trashing us out of hotel. My mom asked for rasam(pepper water). It was the last waste of rasam(pepper waterit was mixed with normal water and service. It very bad manner.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO CHOOSE DIFFERENT HOTEL
