Charming hotel eatery whipping up an all-day menu of farm-to-table American eats by the pool.
Pancake yummy service was great but it took a while to get food served.but nice atmosphere with fish ponds few feet away.
Tried numerous meals while there. Breakfast was always great. Dinner was never great… some was hardly edible. Spaghetti with meatballs that were extremely over seasoned with oregano to my overdone burger. We also had to ask for each refill of water because the wait staff would just walk right past your empty glass. I recommend breakfast but not dinner.
Very cozy and special place to be away from busy life while being in the city. Restaurant is great by the pool
I love this place so much hope it is protected & never in danger of being sold
Very very average food ..... very friendly wait staff but either understaffed or simply not very well- trained / well- managed. Very slow and forgetful.
We have always had great food but this time it was below average and we ate at other restaurants in the area 😕
We loved everything we have tried! Wagyu Burger was tender and juicy, fries were crispy and perfect seasoning. Fried Chicken was different however tender and breading wasn’t too thick, corn frittes were yummy. Eggs Benedict was good, hash browns nice and crispy. French toast was our favorite and the crème was to die for! Will be back to try the wings!! Definetly recommend for any meal
Had breakfast while I was staying in the hotel! Very pleasant with a nice pool view and great service!
Great location. Great ambience. Great food. What else you need for an amazing brunch.
I love so much about Dinahs. Its a small boutique hotel with beautifully done landscaping. The garden areas are so pretty and my kids live feeding the coi fish. Its such a treat for my kids and I to come overnight and swim all day. My only complaint is there is alot to be desired as far as the restaurant goes which is huge for us. We like to order food and drinks at the pool but the last few stays there are issues every time. Mostly with bad attitudes and a no one seems to want to take your order. I usually get this feeling like the left doesnt k ow what the right is doing. It would be perfect if the restaurant experience improved. Theres lots of room for it!
Great food and service, for party of 27, that was celebrating our 50th Anniversary. Filet was grilled just right to medium rare. Fried chicken, salmon, wagyu burger, and meatloaf were all also very good!! Ricardo and Alejandro were great servers and managers. All our requests were addressed promptly!! Would return in near future.
Dinahs was a fun experience. Heated pool open til 10PM. Plenty of nice, kind staff members ready to help with a smile. Poolside restaurant with seating, or you can order from the pool lounge chairs. Good food and really well made drinks. The suites are much more spacious than your average hotel room. A walk-in closet as well. Room service was quick and responsive. I really cant say enough about how impressed I was with Dinahs.
Food is good and service is excellent. Price is reasonable. Nice & quiet area (even with some kids swimmingto have dinner, esp during this pandemic. Will visit again.
Great food. The service was stretched with the number of guests.
Would give 0 stars if I could. Worst service I ever received in my life. Servers walk around literally doing nothing with no sense of urgency. It took 15 mins for someone to even take our order. After that, we literally did not see our server for another 30 mins. Never received our drinks or even a glass of water the entire time we were there. When we pulled aside someone else to ask for service they claimed they couldnt help us because they werent our server. Avoid at all costs.
Its amazing place for breakfast. And kids love to spend time with ducks and fishes. Our family and friends love this restaurant.
Literally, a pool-side restaurant inside a hotel complex. No fence between tables and the pool. Tables were partially under sun umbrellas. Heat lamps are available for cooler days and evenings.Food options for a Sunday brunch is an upscale diner-style: wings, chips & salsa, salads, omelettes, sandwiches with shoestring fries. Decent, but not spectacular.Service was mediocre - we couldnt find anyone nearby for water, coffee, or iced tea refills for the longest time.Photos:1vegetarian omelette with spinach and mushrooms + very dark hash browns and already-buttered toast2Californian omelette with bacon, avocado, and creme fraiche drizzle + lightly toasted hash browns plus buttered toastOther members of my group ordered the Turkey sandwich with shoestring fries, Wagyu burger, and corned beef (on a roll instead of rye). Amount of fries with the meals came very inconsistent. One sandwich arrived with more than double the amount of fries that the burger accompanied. My group rated the food pretty good around. I was mostly focused on inhaling the crispy shoestring fries (that I stole off my neighbors plate).Cute place, good for outdoor, casual brunch if you dont mind kids jumping in the pool about 8 feet from your table.
Great classic American food. I especially like the breakfast and burgers they serve here.
My boyfriend visited me from New York, we stayed at a hotel down the road for the first night, we were driving and stopped in to see this place. We immediately went and got our items and moved right in over here. We ate at the restaurant at least twice a day (I recommend the turkey sandwich!)(and sangria). We swam and had drinks poolside. Our door opened up to a small patio and a gate that lead to the pool. The owner was helping out at the restaurant and was the one who made sure we got a room even though they were quite full, she was very sweet. We walked around and looked at the baby ducks and plants. We didnt want to leave 💕
A lovely place for a quiet, delicious meal. Excellent food and service
Great little gem hidden in plain sight. Good place for brunch or lunch. Busier than expected - but thats a good sign! Went there for a team lunch - ordered the caprese sandwich which was ok. Tiramisu was good. Good poolside ambiance, good service, decent food and drinks. Try it!
Make a reservation or else they might not seat you. They had many tables open so we were surprised. They said they were so backed up that they wouldn’t even seat us. We had a 2+ hour wait for our room at the hotel to be ready but it didn’t matter. So, make a reservation or else you could be getting delivery to eat on the benches in front of the restaurant. 🤷♀️
Staff specially in the Kitchen,Waiters are so mean and Uneducated. They let us in and waited for AlmOst half an hOur & No one shows up to take our order, they just passing by and not even asking what do we need or we already been help.No Nothing at All.I went to the Office where the hotel or Front disk person in there that Lady infrOnt is even more mean,She told me it’s all like that anywhere you gO.Can you believed that.👎🏿
Pleasant and relaxing atmosphere gives the sensations of an easy escape to the islands somewhere far away. Wether you walked a few steps from your hotel room, or, you are a local visitor, the experience is here waiting for you. Me and my companion have done both, and we agree that wether we are here to relax and enjoy cocktails or breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the atmosphere and attentive service complements the smart menu and delicious food. A welcoming and satisfying escape can be found even amongst our usual surroundings.
Had great sliced chicken sandwich, very nice cut greens in the shade (inside). Most folks seem to prefer sunny spots.
Excellent BreakfastShared "The American" breakfast with my partner. Food (traditional breakfast farewas excellent, service outstanding. Coffee was particularly good for mountain view. Definitely one of the better local restaurants for breakfast.
Breakfast menu average but service was good ,food was good, atmosphere was very interesting to be out by the pool. Our morning was cold but they fired up an outdoor heater and it worked out just fine. Definitely worth a shot. For the money, still better than Drakes.....
Poolside was nice!Canadian Benedict/Bacon & Eggs were delicious!Cadillac Margarita was awesome!Mai Tai was okay.Calamari was okay.Service was very good.Prices were a little high for me but over all a good time/experience.
I ordered take out. Got the spaghetti and meatballs with side salad and garlic bread and butter. Everything was great. Meatballs were soft and chewy. Garlicky tomato sauce. Sprinkled with parsley. Service was quick and friendly. Order was ready in 20min.
The service is so incredibly inconsistent, on day one everything was fine, we enjoyed our meal and service. However, the day we used the pool not only did we encounter some very disgruntled looking employees while ordering food but when we transitioned to sit at the poolside it got so much worse. We were ignored for over 3 hours, until I finally asked one of the servers (that was giving the person next to me exceptional service), if he could possibly take our order...he mentioned that a female was the one tasked to our side, we told him that we hadnt seen her for hours and if he could please ask her to swing by. More time went by.. My husband ended up going to the hostess to place orders there a couple times because we were getting nowhere. When somebody did finally come by, they looked SO inconvenienced by us. While the whole time Im watching the gentleman next to me get exceptional service by the server that was helping him.
It was a really nice day and they sat me inside during a week day because I was one person. Was not happy about that, however, the waiters were very on-top of it, the food came quick and it was really tasty.
Spacious outdoor venue situated in a hotel complex, seating around a swimming pool. Limited but appropriate menu and wine list. Excellent service. We have been going for twenty-five plus years and have not been disappointed.
Nice atmosphere. It makes you feel like being on holiday. The day we came out for brunch, the weather was amazing and it was quite busy, good thing we booked in advance. Food is ok!
Food was great. The fries are thin and are tasty. Highly recommending at least one dish with chips. The Wagyu burger had too much lettuce which I recommend thinning but the burger overall was very tasty. Service and food was great.Only gripe is that the cocktail wasnt great (bloody mary, was a bit overly spicy). The cheesecake was a bit dense.
The food is delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I love the whimsical wooden art carvings, and enjoy kicking back while enjoying fantastic food and soaking in the rays here.P.S. If you like perfectly battered, thin, crispy fries, Dinahs are the BEST!
Love this place. Its best asset is the atmosphere. The entire restaurant is outside and arrayed around the hotel pool, which is often full of kids playing. It can get a bit loud from time to time, but since its outside its never too bad. The decor, greenery, and liveliness all just comes together to make for a really pleasant place to enjoy a leisurely meal, especially on a warm summer evening. The food is also very good, if not mind-blowing. Service is great and prices are very reasonable for the area (e.g. $22 for large plate of BBQ ribs, $8 chips and guac, $27 8oz steak and fries). I only wish they had a large menu or would update it more frequently-- they have only a few entrees.
The first few years after I moved to Palo Alto, I never visited this restaurant because I thought it is the "hotels restaurant", until my friend recommended the place. The experience was so great that I went back several times more. The food was great - love the egg Benedict! The restaurant is right by the pool, great ambient! Its a popular local hangout place.
We had the amazing wagyu Burger. I have to say Ive never had a better one. The pool side makes it especially unique. Of course I have to rate it 5 stars. Its where I took my daughter when she escaped Nevada to come to California while our cousin is getting radiation at Stanford Hospital. During covid-19 isolation, were willing to go to extremes 2 deal with cabin fever
Loved the food N service. Nice way to celebrate birthday. Dinner by poolside with Koi pond reminded me of Ubud Bali. Everything we ordered tasted spectacular. Since I found the place, I was so proud of my find.
Very thankful to find this place and actually have someplace to sit and eat during this time of COVID thanks to the outdoor dining. Service was great! I ordered the Boss Omelette. You cant go wrong there. Food was perfect and got to our table quick. Great brunch spot!
We went with four people for lunch. We thought that the lunch menu was very nice and you can order off the breakfast menu until 2:00 p.m. . Two of us ordered sandwiches and two of us ordered breakfast items. We were all very happy with our choices. I think that Dinahs is quite a nice place to have lunch.
Dinah’s was delicious: quiet and the perfect brunch place. My boyfriend and I were seated quickly by the pool and the garden around the pool is a nice setting. I had an omelette which was really tasty! I would definitely come back here for Sunday brunch.
It is a nice atmosphere. I felt as if the restaurant was overwhelmed when we were there. The waiter apologized for a cup of coffee that he had splashed coffee all over, telling me it was not dirty, just covered in coffee. Is that still the best idea? Hmmmm. I really disliked the corn beef hash I ordered so much I had to send it back and the toast had a lot of residue from some other item that had burned on it so I sent that back as well. The omelette I got to replace the hash was okay, nothing to write home about but the waiter brought it quickly and provided good service. My friend really liked her burger meal a lot. I felt rushed out by the waiter at the end of the meal in order to accommodate a large table who were waiting. So I did not have a great experience. It was mixed.
Reason for visiting: work trip, dinner after workDate/time of visit: Monday nightParking: can be found on the street or in the lotParty size: 1Environment/ambience: sat at the bar area. Mixed crowd, not too crowded. One TV above the bar area, no sound. This is the restaurant in the back, not the front.Service: Great! Staff was friendly and seemed like they enjoy working there.Food: Great! Had the seafood risotto and it was great. Be careful though, its extremely hot but good. The complimentary bread and butter were great too. Had the mango mojito and it was good.Cost: a bit expensive but worth it. $55 including tip.
We ate two meals during a one night stay here, both were excellent. Its a real, delicious restaurant, not just a hotel restaurant. The portions are generous and include lots of the "good stuff." My smoked salmon omelet had plenty of salmon, for example. You wont be disappointed!
Beautiful view and great food. I had the Californian omelette, my companions had the pancakes and corned beef and hash. The table next to us had fish sandwiches. I think Ill try that next time Im in town. The service was great. Thanks very much!
Loved it! Delicious food, uncrowded and quiet space, and friendly and unobtrusive service. My friend and I shared a mushroom quesadilla (one of the happy hour offeringsand it was really flavorful! For our mains we had the fried chicken plate the cauliflower "steak."My friend described the fried chicken as "fluffy" (in a positive wayand I agree! Crispy but without being dense or oily, it was the perfect texture and tasted great. The corn fritters that came with it were really yummy, too (and also surprisingly light, non-greasy), though I probably would have preferred something non-fried being paired with the fried chicken (maybe mashed potatoes? corn bread?). The accompanying green beans were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The cauliflower steak, well, wouldnt have been my first choice but dang if it wasnt tasty and perfectly cooked! Just firm enough without being too chewy, and so nicely seasoned! Our drinks were great, too.re service... I really liked that our server was there when we needed him but not hovering.Lastly... I was pleasantly surprised by the prices... certainly not cheap, but definitely lower than I would have expected for such a local icon and yummy place!
It was a lovely dinner! I had the special tasting menu. The octopus was really good. Im not a huge seafood fan, and I loved it! The lamb shank was pretty good. It was a lot of food and it was worth it. The service was for the most part great but there was a 10-15 minute period where the staff was non existent. Everything else made for a lovely evening.
Wow, what a great find! Over the last few years my girlfriend and I have been to about a dozen different breakfast restaurants in the Mountain View/Palo Alto area, but this one beats them all. The environment is beautiful and was uncrowded when we went (10:30 am on a Sunday). The food was great in every aspect: we ordered the strawberry chocolate crepe and Californian omelette, and both were delicious. Service was courteous and professional, and the coffee was good too.The only downside was that it was about 20% more expensive than most breakfast places in the area, but it was definitely a case of "you get what you pay for." Will definitely be coming back here.
Great place for brunch. You can side poolside and be surrounded by loads of greens and palm trees. The restaurant is far off the street or any noise which makes it really relaxing and gives it some serious chill vibes. Its a great escape from always busy Silicon Valley.Service is really friendly and works hard to do a good job. During busy hours they just struggle a bit to keep up and it might take a while before they take your order and until food comes out.The food is American and the portions are big. I love how they keep it traditional here and dont seem to add anything artificial as you can really taste the original ingredients. Their food is full of flavor. Its not very unique or special but just really solid food. They dont have espresso drinks but only filter coffee. They freshly squeezed orange juice. This place attracts a rather older crowd.
