Din Tai Fung in Glendale

It is a very nice din tai fung.Usually during lunchtime, there is a one hour wait. To avoid it you can ask to sit at the bar then you jump in the line directly to the bar line.The food was great atmosphere was really nice and well put. I would say you need about two dishes per person to be satisfied with your meal that is on top of an starter if you are more than 2 people. Service was great. They do validate parking for the garage and also for the valet. Just make sure you ask for it before you leave. I would return if I have the chance as the food was great and I enjoyed my time over there. The only thing that I was missing is the big window where you see the cooks making the dim sums

4-star for the food. The food is absolutely worth to try. 2.75-star for the waiting time. In Glendale, its always busy, so try to make reservation ahead of time, or good luck waiting! Parking in Americana is now no longer free, but I think they still have validation. Or you can try to park near public library and walk a bit if you dont mind.

2 stars only because the place was clean and design is good,but…. Who cares about design if the food is nothing. Small portion,food is 1 star food and expensive. For this amount of money you expect big portion and delicious food but definitely not in this place. Wasted $70(without tipsfor 2 persons(the second person didnt even eat much)and then got full. The waiter was a very nice guy but he served few tables and we had to wait. Its just one of those fancy restaurants with no real taste of food. If you are a real gourmet,you wont like this place.

An amazing place! Food, service, food! Im in love. We booked in advance to get in. Dont be afraid of crowds of people - this is a real sign of quality. The best place. If I met such places often, I would be the happiest person.

Always a pleasure. Can’t have enough of their dumplings! The only downside is a huuuuuge line. Be prepared to go shopping while you wait your turn. This location also has a bar, try their DTF old fashion infused with tea.

The wait was two hours. We definitely had some hunger. Once we got seated the waiter was quick. The orders placed and food was made at a good pace. It’s definitely a place to sit down and eat and enjoy the atmosphere.

Really, really good. But an exceptionally long wait (both for the food and for seating (even with reservation)and on the pricy side. Soup dumplings in particular hit the spot!

The food was amazing, the cucumber salad was good and refreshing, the Xiao long bao were super yummy, the pot stickers had a nice crispy bottom, or I guess top because the way they are served, and the staff was friendly. It was a little more expensive, for 5 people it was $170. Also for 5 people the wait was 1.5 to 2 hours, we ended waiting 2 hours, but the food was really good and I think the 2 hours was worth it.

this isn’t the og arcadia location, but xlbs here are a religious experience. A lot of people will say that there are better xlbs around (the filling is up for discussion but i don’t think i have had a better one in terms of how thin the dough isI don’t order anything else although string beans and chicken soup are pretty good

We had soup dumplings here that were so delicious. We wanted to try the Bok choy but it was sold out so instead we got string beans and they were also really good. I would definitely be back here very soon. Make sure to make a reservation or you can sit at the bar and wait

Taiwanese food at its best. Keep in mind obesity isnt a problem in Taiwan. So when you order remember you dont need everything on every visit. Lol or you will feel it in the pocket book and the full belly.But tasty is an understatement.We love this place. Reminds me of the food my mom would make at home growing up.Taiwanese/ American roots.

Food is always delicious, friendly staff. make sure to get a reservation before you sit. If you park at the Americana they validate.

Rachel recommended the sesame sauce noodles and it was sooo bomb! My friend knew other items to order and everything else tasted amazing too.Rachel was attentive, knew when to refill and came at the perfect time when I needed anything.Definitely coming back!!

Fantastic dumplings. The food here is delicious, we’ll cooked, and satisfies that dumpling craving. You can’t go wrong with any items on the menu, but I’d highly recommend the Pork Buns here as well. The lines and wait are often long so if you’re walking up I like to check in first, get on the list, and then wander around until the table is ready.

Food is really good. Dumplings are a must. Noodles, fried rice, vegetables and drinks are nice additions as well. Ginger with vinegar, soy sauce and hot chili oil is also a must with Dumplings. Portions are not big for the prices so recommend ordering more as the dishes come out. Weekend and certian night wait can be very heavy.

Omg, the food here is absolutely amazing!! Everything on there menu is soooo good! We had to wait 2 hours to get a seat, but oh so very worth the wait! Service was amazing too, thank you!

We had dumpling, fried rice, spinach, and sesame noodle, and they’re all great!!! We went there around 11:30am, so we didn’t have to wait in lines at all.

Elevated Asian dining, really good appetizers, known for their xiao long bao and other great items such as the Shanghai rice cakes and the spicy shrimp wontons.We started with the wood ear mushrooms. Also ordered the garlic string beans ( a staple!as well as the Shanghai rice cakes with chicken, crab and pork XLB and the noodles with mince pork ( our least fav)Everything was really tasty, love their chili oil. Really takes all the dishes to another level if you like spice!Also ordered a green milk tea with boba. I liked that it wasn’t too overwhelming with the milk and that you could actually taste the tea.A little on the pricier side. Lunch for two cost around $100. 5 dishes total with 2 beers and a boba. You could definitely get away with spending a little less.Great spot if you’re wanting something a little fancier than a regular dumpling spot.Have been several times and will go back again.

If you have time to spear and arent in a hurry this a must. The food is delicious!! The also have this honey lemon tea which is amazing. The down side is the wait time. So, make reservations if youre in a hurry

Authentic Taiwanese food, food quality is consistent. Table is too small, if you are hungry and ordering lots of food, you have to eat very fast to make rooms for the next dishes. A little over priced since the food portion is quite small.

Din Tai Fungs become something of an institution in the past ten years. Fantastic XLB and dumpling options, decent cocktails, and some surprising dessert options round out a mostly authentic menu with a few inventive delights!

This place is incredibly good. Good ambiance, and a fantastic menu. My cousin and I were looking to be fat and happy by the end of the meal ,and we definitely were. We ordered quite a bit of food but the best dishes we got in my opinion, were the green beans, the mango tea with boba, and the pork soup dumplings(absolutely incredible btw). We spent quite a bit because we were splurging, but realistically you can get in and enjoy an excellent meal for about $30-45 per person.We had the pleasure of having Penelope wait our table, and I can only say good things; excellent recommendations, and a great sense of humor. Looking forward to coming back the next time Im in Cali

My daughter was dying to come here when we decided to take a vacation to LA. The Glendale location was so beautiful! The staff was engaging and friendly. The food was AMAZING! You must try the soup dumplings and chocolate balls for dessert. Everything we picked was incredible! Reasonably priced for the amount of food.

The wait was extremely long without a reservation (about one hour and a half and it was a random week nightbut although the restaurant was technically closed by the time we got our table they still did not rush us to eat whatsoever and the service was really great. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable on the dishes. The food was so delicious we went a little bit overboard with how many things we tried. But honestly not a bad thing!! We were worried the dishes would be hit or miss as it was our first time and we blindly ordered but no it was all good. The biggest highlights and must re-order for me were definitely the vegan spicy wontons and the chocolate buns for dessert. The vegetarian fried noodles were so good too. And the pickled cucumbers… okay you get the point it was all good.

My first time at this Taiwanese restaurant and it was really good. We ordered pork xiao long bao, chicken dumpling, bak choy, red bean sticky rice, pork noodle, and chocolate mochi xiao long bao. I really enjoyed the pork xiao long bao and red bean sticky rice they were so delicious. Overall, 10/10 would recommend.

Alright, alright, alright, my very 1st dim sum review that Im gonna be posting after having eating dim sum for over 40+ years of my life (Ranging from the East coast, Midwest, West coast), if this doesnt give you a hint about this Din Tai Fung restaurant & their chains, then youre about to really miss out on this big time!!Ive yet to favor any Asian chain restaurants in the States for the true authentic Asian tastes & flavorings, till now, that is.Doesnt matter what you order here, youre gonna enjoy the foods (As you can see in the pictures attached below). However, the Soup Dumplings order is a MUST!! What impressed me here is the customer service, friendly, attentive, and professional, which is usually the most lacking in the Asian restaurants.KUDOS to you with your staff to ensure our excellent experiences during our visits!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Wait time was a little long. Food was really good but the portion sizes are very small. I recommend the soup dumplings, green beans and the ribs.

I’m always craving Din Tai Fung for their Xiao Long Bao and their chocolate mochi Xiao Long Bao! We went to the Glendale location for the first time and of course enjoyed it very much. Every single person on the staff that we encountered was friendly and respectful. The whole atmosphere was pleasant. It was about an hour wait for walk ins, but it was worth the wait! Looking forward to visiting again soon.

This place never dissapoint,They quality is exceptional.The best Xiao long bao weve ever had,Their beef noodle soup too is so tasty, it feels like eating a warm hug.Everything tasted so fresh.We brought our friend to eat there for the first time and she enjoyed the food so much, she had the last piece of Xiao long bao, hahahhaI love to put their fresh crisp ginger in every xlb bite 😋Our go to dumpling house for sure!

Solid. Its got all the usual staples, the Xiao Long Bao, the spicy wontons, the hot oil noodles. But if youve been to Din Tai Fung before in Asia, you might be a bit disappointed as the flavor quality is not quite up to the original standard. But thats to be expected for a chain thats come overseas to the US. Im still happy I can have DTF here.

This place is amazing. The service is great Tri was an amazing server, he does a great job at informing you how to eat certain foods. The drinks from the bar are very tasty. Overall the experience is worth every penny. Definitely coming back again. There is not place quite like this. The wait wasn’t bad either. They use a texting service that makes it easy for you to get a place in line. Would definitely recommend to reserve if you don’t wanna wait. We only waited 30 mins which is really great for the amount of people that were in line before my party.

I have been in America for a few years now. So far this is the best place for 小笼包 xiao long bao in California. Everything else seems to be more expensive for average flavor. The taste is very similar to the food found in canteens at universities. Im happy they offer vinegar instead of the usual soy sauce. The place is clean and a little too fancy for something I usually buy walking down the street, but still a nice place to stop by and eat at.

Service is good. Food is good.Some items were too salty and others not enough. I think the takeaway here is the style of cooking dumplings with the soup inside. They are impressive.I don’t think I would go back here because the Vegan options weren’t that great for me or filling. Also the wait for a table is ridiculous and they serve as prepared sometimes 1 item at a time.The prices are between reasonable and too pricey for what you get.TIP: Valet parking is validated for 3 hours but if you visit on a weekend then be prepared to wait for a table. My party had 8 people and had to wait 1h 45m to 2hrs to be seated.

This food was awesome. We got take out for dinner. I considered going back here for lunch the next day. The food was packaged really well and it was warm / promptly ready. Highly recommend this place! Lots of great veggie options.

Din Tai Fung was fantastic! We loved it and the service was out of this world. Our waitor was honestly the best and helped us pick from the menu. He even gave us a demonstration of how to properly eat soup dumplings.We will definitely be going back and are looking forward to it

Im not sure if it is their standard to serve dumplings upside down, but of all the chinese restaurants Ive been to all over the world, this presentation is the most peculiar. Order delivery is very slow, perhaps the servers were mostly new. I had to cancel the bao we ordered that never came. They sent me an email saying Id get a $15 e-gift card for the experience, but when I received it, it was only for $10. That was my experience. I hope they improve on their efficency and attention to detail.

Din Tai Fung is a really good dumpling shop. Normally with chains I wouldnt support them in anyway. Theyve gradually expanded but still keep the same authentic feel that made them great.

Im gonna be honest. This review has been a long time coming. I have had dumplings in many cities, in many places, and in different countries. The soup dumplings have to be some of the best I have ever had. Most things on their menu is absolutely incredible. You could probably throw a dart onto the menu to order and the food will be amazing. Soup dumplings are a must, but the other dumplings are very good. They have unique dumpling combinations that are tasty. Fried rice and noodles are great as well. The desert dumplings are also unique, such as the chocolate dumplings and taro dumplings.Personally, one of my favorite places in Glendale. Been meaning to try this place for a while, as Ive heard many good things. It surpassed my expectations! The Xiao Long Bao were so flavorful and juicy, delicious hot soup held together by a thin but stable dumpling. The wait staff was very friendly, and my server was excited to explain the menu and the proper way to eat a soup dumpling. Ill definitely come back!

So if your looking for some Taiwanese good food this hits home. It’s superb the service upon entering was great. Of course you had to make reservations but it was worth that extra twenty minutes. The shrimp rice cakes were so good, the dumplings too the bao are great. The server we had was amazing. The experience is worth it. Fed my bf and myself. And we weren’t dissapointed. The bok choy dipped in the sauce is so good and the ginger gosh my mouth still watering writing this review. It’s adorable they have the lil chicken and the crab to differentiate the entrees love this place. Would highly recommend this place. Everything made fresh to order and they even have a window for you to view the chefs at work yea hits home for me love me some good bao
