Din Tai Fung - Chinese restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
The restaurant located on the B2 level of the Mitsukoshi department store is excellent. Try Xiaolongbao is a must. The service is attentive, friendly and communicative. All perfect!
Ubereat at 11:09 am, the original delivery time should be around 12 pm. Later I found out the food was prepared until 12:06, and Ubereat canceled the order at 12:30 pm.I had to personally go to the store and pick up those not-so-fresh, one-hour-old food home; especially we ordered 小籠包.
Food was ok. Soup was very light favored.
Service is good …food is good … 👍👍👍
Service is spectacular as usual. Attentive and attention to detail. We were two adults and they adviced that 3 xlb was a bit much and and thank goodness for their recommendation. We always get their super expensive pea shoots stir fried veggies and the crispy shrimp pancake. I personally like the red bean dumpling and you can order just a half order of it. Yum yum
Im vegan and DTF actually has great options! Also a good place for family or friends gatherings if other people want meat. Love their dumplings, veggie fried rice, and red bean dumplings for dessert!
This one is A MUST to try, especially if youre visiting Taiwan. Delicious and authentic foods and wonderful service. Hand made dumplings. Its Michelin star restaurant.I Would advice to go to smaller branches rather, the main one, its very busy most of the times, you might need to wait quite a bit for a table.
Consistently awesome experience. It’s my top place to take people while they visiting Taiwan.
Another one of my favorites in Taipei. As with other Din Tai Fung locations, you’ll probably have to take a ticket and wait for 40-60 minutes, but again as with the other locations it will totally be worth it. Amazing food, delicious options and a range of vegetarian dishes too! Highly recommend!
Tried another outlet here as an alternative to the 101 outlet. Shorter queue and good quality.
Came Taiwan many times. Didn’t have the chance to eat, cos Singapore has many outlets as well. And on top of that the queue is really long at Taiwan. But finally had a chance to try. I have to agree with many comments. It’s definitely better than Singapore, even the service level is better. They even have more varieties than Singapore.
Soup dumplings were amazing!! We got both the pork and the crab. Love that the soup dumplings were bite sized. They also have a card on the table that shows you the right way to eat a soup dumpling if this is tour 1st time. Long wait time but that is expected. Staff was friendly and spoke English as well. If there is a ling wait time, you get a number and the order sheet. You complete the order sheet while you wait and when your number gets called, you hand in your order sheet. Then you sit in your table and wait for the food to come out - pretty easy! They also accept credit cards!
excellent service, delicious food XD highly recommend!
Wonderful n tasty dumplings and also food dishes. Service is fast n efficient but it gets packed during peak n weekends. Prices are average n seatings comfortable. Located in a choice mall with lots of activities before n after a meal. Dumplings are served steaming hot n wide choice available. Well recommended👍
Food is good, service is awesome, worth a visit. Downside is theres way too much customer waiting in line. Would suggest to come here a bit early to grab a waiting number and come back later.
Fabulous dumplings.. Especially the chili ones
love the chocolate bun! The wontons are tasty as well. Very friendly staff
We have been to a couple of Din Tai Fung locations in Taipei. We enjoyed going to this location as we didnt have to line up as at the original location. We did have a reservation but there seemed to be enough seating people were seated promptly after a short wait. The service was exceptional. The servers were very attentive and was actively at our table filling our tea/glasses of water, taking away finished dishes etc. I havent had a bad experience in the Din Tai Fung in Taipei... except for the wait at the original location.
The soup dumplings are simply the best. Spicy cucumbers are very tasty and refreshing. Spicy pork and shrimp dumplings - amazing. Place is very busy. I salute their success, but would prefer a more quaint environment. But you cant have it all, and great dumplings.
Now becomes an international brands with outlets in major spots of every big cities. Food quality is guaranteed
Excellent xiaolongbao. Fresh and juicy with good flavour. Plenty of other dishes which are also superb and worth a try. Drunken chicken is amongst the best Ive tried.Theres a wait for table but people dont generate stay for too long and we didnt have to wait for too long.Service is excellent.
A lot cheaper but more delicious than the ones in Cali!! Their xiao long biao and hot chili dumplings are must orders!!
I’ve always ordered the same dishes from DTF whichever country I’m in. My dishes in this outlet mostly tasted the same (from othersapart from the egg fried rice. It’s pretty disappointing for this outlet. Imo the best DTF outlet I’ve eaten in Taipei goes to the one at 101. However the queue can be quite a wait though.I’ve also tried the steamed meat dumplings (小笼包), it’s a refreshing new taste compared to the ones in Singapore. Less salty, more pork sweetness!
Ive been to 4 different Din Tai Fung restaurants, and this one was the best. Everything was hot and tasted amazing! We had three different types of XLB, the spicy wontons, noodles, cucumbers, and a handful of other items, and it was all delicious. Not only that, but the wait wasnt bad either!
Always have long queue especially if come without booking. But the food always delicious. So its worth to wait
Very good restaurant close to MRT City Hall Station Exit 3 - Building A4. Everything is fresh and good. The restaurant is famous for his dumplings. All the dishes are very good. The service is perfect. All waiters and waitresses wear costumes. This is one of the top 10 restaurants you need to go if you go to visit Taipei. Easy to go after visiting Taipei 101 or after see a movie in Vieshow.Even if there is a lot of customers there is not so much noice so you can hear the person that eat with you.Do not come here would be a mistake.
I am there at least once every time I visit Taiwan. Worth a visit, but you might have to wait at least 20 minutes for getting seated as it is usually high frequented.
Service today seems not as good as before. My other friend picked up the number but not letting her in while I was 1 min. away. When I arrived, it passed our number already and we have to stand and wait for another 8 minutes. Would suggest more flexibility on these as my friend is 80 years old and couldn’t really stand for long.Food is still good , as expected.
Amazing dumplings and excellent service! Restaurant was very clean and staff were professional and very nice. We loved the vegetarian mushroom dumplings and the chocolate dessert ones too. My family said the regular pork dumplings and pot stickers were very good. The taro bun was just mediocre and needed more taro flavour/sweetness. Expensive for Taiwan prices but this is Din Tai Fung and they make some of the best dumplings!
Excellent food and service; love their tea, free refills. Best steamed dumplings and shrimp wontons. The food is pricey than local street vendors.
Extremely fresh and tasty Dumplings. The best in town, some say, but who’s going to check. ;If you don’t want to queue for an hour to eat them, check out this branch at B2 of the mall. Usually only a short wait. Service very friendly as always. Would come back any time.
DTF, delicious as always. You need to get a ticket number and they will call you when it’s your number. You can go on their website or app now and check the current status, very convenient because the wait for us was 55-60min and we got in around 45min by keeping an eye on the status.
The legendary DTF XLB. Fried rice is also a must-try dish
Went at 2pm on a Monday. So lucky to get a table after a 15-min wait. Very delicious as usual. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Crab paste Xiao Long Bao is superb. The beef noodle soup is really rich and the beef was very tender.
Try the truffle soup dumplings!!.. you will not be disappointed.
Never quite understood the legendary status amongst foreigners but this iconic dumpling and noodle specialist gets the job done. Efficient service, solid carb heavy classics. Come later to miss the crowds. The flagship Xinyi Road store is better.
Great location to try foods from this famous chain. Significantly less crowded than the one in Taipei 101. English menu provided. The service is excellent, with a lot of staff constantly rotating and topping up the hot tea. The soup dumplings were excellent in flavor. Not greasy, and had a clean taste. Plenty of soup inside, and the filling quantity was just right. The appropriate condiments of sliced ginger, vinegar, and soy sauce were provided. The fried rice was incredibly fragrant, while the pork shop was good though a little strong in oyster sauce flavor. The beef noodle soup was rich and mild, noodles and beef cooked to the correct doneness. The sticky rice with pork was rich and hearty, with a lot of tender meat, though slightly too salty. Finally, the shrimp wontons were very fresh and cooked perfectly. Coated in a fragrant spicy sauce. Again slightly too salty. Overall an excellent but expensive meal.
A very popular place for lunch and dinner. Good to make reservation as it can be crowded. Conveniently located and near the subway. The food is great and delicious. Some must try are the Xiao Long bao, la mien and the fried dumplings.
Food is amazing, since its the original. They have a lot more options than the ones in US and the wait time isnt as long.
1. The service is superb :)2. The Xiao Long Bao is great.3. The egg fried rice can be improved. Please make it more savory.4. It’s a little pricey for the value.
Delicious food at very good prices. Ordered a full meal for 3 people and it barely came out to $75 USD. Worth the wait even if youre buried deep in the queue. Efficient service and restaurant is clean. They have English menus and the majority of staff do understand the language, which is awesome.
A popular chain without the crowd! There was no queue when we went (around 2pmand the food is good, service is decent, ambience is nice. Definitely recommend as compared to the Taipei 101 branch with insane queue. Must trys include their xiao long bao, pork chop fried rice and dumplings in spicy sauce.
Awesome food. The waitress are friendly but, their service is not up to mark (at least on a busy day). We had to ask for every small thing we needed. We had many kinds of dumplings here and I love them all. The traditional soup dumplings and the fried rice are my favorite.
Tase nice and nice services. Good location as it is basically at the basement of Xin Guang San Yue shopping mall A4!
Regular, consistent and unique taste. My favorite dumpling place in Taipei.Much recommended dish : try out the chocolate dumpling as desert. Its a bomb !Keep in mind waiting to get in here averages 90min...
Besides dumplings, they also get One if the best fried rice in town, absolutely stunning. Professional staff and amazing food.
Fantastic service and well organised. The dim sum is good, especially the famous xlb. The fried rice is perfectly executed. The wan tan noodles are also delicious. Fair price.
Excellent service with free flow tea. The food taste is within expectation - worth going for the service. Queue can be very long in the evening.
yes its probably a bit more than other XLB places on the street. but you come here for the experience and the unwavering quality. service is always top notch and food is always better than par. and plus if youre used to western food prices, this is a damn good deal.
Din Tai Fung never fails to deliver on the juiciest, tastiest and thinnest skinned xiaolongbaos. This branch at Mitsukoshi A4 basement delivers the consistent quality that we expect from Din Tai Fung - the normal pork ones, crab roe ones, as well as truffle ones are staples for us. Do try the sweet yam xialongbaos as dessert treats - make sure you order the right ones in the menu, as Ive made the mistake of ordering the sweet yam treats in the regular white "char siew bun" variety. This branch would have gotten my 5 stars, if not for its utilitarian feel, it looks like a Din Tai Fung, but somehow lacks the soul that the main branch or the 101 branch has. However, plus point is that the queues are much shorter here than at the 2 other branches!
