Dignita Hoftuin - Brunch restaurant in Amsterdam, Netherlands
The location is very nice in the middle of a park behind the Hermitage museum. Food is okay but not worth the elevated prices. The biggest downside is the awful service. I found the staff quite rude and unpleasant. Most of the waiters are young students who obviously dont care too much about service.
Dignita Hoftuin is a really nice restaurant/bar/brunchlocation in the garden “Hoftuin” right next to the holocaust monument. Great location, great food and the gardens are a perfect package to spend a few hours on any day. The Benny boys are great for any diet preferences incl. an excellent vegetarian option. Definitely a recommendation, but you should reserve in advance on the weekend or any busy day. Otherwise you might need to wait a long time to get in…
Great brunch spot. Delicious food, friendly staff, lovely setting. Benny on hash is the way to go.
Amazing place to relax. Good atmosphere. Great food! A must go!
We had brunch on the terrace: the atmosphere is lovely, the food is great and the service was very good. We ordered "The classic Chook Norris" and the "Forrest Dwellers" and both were delicious. Important to reserve upfront :)
Amazing experience- staff was so friendly … beautiful patio and dining area…. We both had the Forest Dwellers and added poached eggs with a side of hollandaise - it was so amazing on its own… would go back for sure!
Food looks great but taste is dull. Tuin is great, ambiance is superb. Coffee is also good. But this is not a delicious or amazing food as it has been mentioned in the comments. I’d prefer Staring at Jacob any day over this one.
A beautiful location and very caring and friendly staff. Great selection of food and drinks as well as vegan options. I highly recommend this place!
The menu is very authentic, quality of the food was great as well. And the service was extremely fast, all the waiters were super nice!
It’s a pleasant experience for me. Beautiful food and nice service. Especially the chill vibe nearby. Love it.American pancake is so beautiful and hard to eat it because it looks like an art work.🥰❤️
Super friendly staff and great atmosphere, so would be great to just chill and grab some coffee. Food was awful though. So overcooked🤦♂️its definitely not a poached egg 😅
Great breakfast/brunch spot in Amsterdam in a beautiful garden. The service was as always friendly and attentive, especially noteworthy since we were a large group. There are plenty of delicious food and drink options on the menu with something for everyone. It wasnt my first time here and it definitely wont be my last.
The food was disappointing compared to Dignita Vondelpark. The broccoli fritter was tasteless and didnt taste freshly made. Forest dwellers was better but not worth coming back for. Cheesecake was disappointing too. Service here was slow and tiring. Felt like as if waiters were avoiding eyecontact as much as possible and they were not looking around to help at all. Coffee didnt come with cookies(...!!), our dishes went around not able to find our table right away, cheesecake almost went to the table next to us. Didnt feel put together this place. The location is beautiful tho.
The Indian summer pan cake was delicious. It had cardamom, pistachios, mango with some saffron flavors. Unfortunately, there was no maple syrup as written on the menu. The other item which was with hashbrowns and eggs was below average. The dish was lacking flavor and was quite bland. The location and the service were great and that is the reason for the 4 stars. Otherwise I would rate is as an average brunch place.
Cool place to enjoy a laid back breakfast, brunch or generally some tasty comfort food.We came on a Sunday around noontime without reservation. As expected there was a queue but the line moved rather fast and we were seated in less then 15 Minutes. So dont let the queue discourage you, or just reserve a table ahead.Summer, so outside seating it was. Laid back crowd, good mix of locals and tourists. Although the place was bustling, the service staff acted efficient and welcoming.Ice coffee was decent, so was the fresh squeezed orange juice. I ordered the Chook Norris, which is basically a fried chicken sandwich, but arguably a really nice one. Fluffy milk bread, crunchy fried chicken and some great condiments, chipotle mayo and cilantro among other things. My partner´s dish, Benny Boy, was basically eggs benedict served on toasted wheat bread with a rich Hollandaise sauce smothered all over it. Both dishes were a mess to eat but really satisfying and yummy. So overall, if you are into brunch and such, this is a lovely place not to be missed when visiting Amsterdam.
3 small dishes. 45 minutes wait. We are busy they said (10 tables 9 employees).Eggs benedict on fried patato cake extremely greasy. Eggs were not runny. Pancakes undone. Location good therefore added a star.
Beautiful location in the middle of a park. The food was phenomenal. Outside seating was full so I sat inside but since all the outside walls are windows it wasnt really an issue as I still got to enjoy the views.
In a rainy day, alone with my little kid. We were warmly welcomed and the super nice thoughtful waiter arranged us to sit at the table right beside the cozy toys corner so that my kid could play and I could have a rest. Everyone is extremely kind. On top of the amazing service and great vibe, the food is very special and delicious. Very satisfied experience! It’s also worth reading the whole concept behind the foundation.
Very good breakfast in very cozy and nice Café. The service was very friendly. You have to bring time. It takes a little while until you get your good. But its worth waiting.
Very nice place to have breakfast or lunch. The restaurant is in the middle of a small park with a terrace, which is quite to have a nice meal. The food is tasty and good, and the service is very kind and helpful.
Beautifully located restaurant close to both the city center and otherwise accessible through metro/tram. Great concept where the net profits are distributed to a local charity. Had a big lunch here and absolutely loved both the poached egg and sandwich style dishes. Combined with some excellent coffee and mimosas, it makes for one hell of a lunch. My only advice for the owners would be to place some acoustic foam on the ceiling or inside walls. It tends to get quite busy and the sounds can get a bit overwhelming to the point where it’s hard to have a conversation with somebody across the table from you.
Absolute Amazing place. Went for brunch and the food was incredible, surrounds beautiful and amazing service from all the staff, especially Kat who served us! Would recommend to everyone! Thank you so much for a great morning on our Amsterdam trip!
This is a GREAT and beautiful spot. The food is also always great (I’ve been here around 4 timesbut the 2 stars are ONLY for the front door service. As ALWAYS, they are rude, no carisma, ZERO customer service talent! Very sad to see that management is not training their teams correctly. (His name is “Ali” I guess)
Not only with the atmosphere but also with the very original and delicious brunch plates I think Dignita is the best brunch place in Amsterdam. You need to make a reservation in order to make sure you have a place but sometimes it can get so busy that even though you have a place you still need to wait to be seated. But it definitely worths it.
Very nice cafe in a cozy yard. Sitting outside on a warm spring day when everything is green and blooming was very pleasant!Very good coffee, delicious vegan tomato soup! Apple pie was not the best I’ve tried but still tasty. The staff was super friendly and polite.I think it’s a perfect place for brunch with friends :)
Lovely place for brunch in Amsterdam, situated in a quite and green area. The stuff was friendly and the place was cozy. You can choose to eat outside or inside. Outside you feel like you are in a magical hidden garden. The food was tasty
Definitely one of my favourite brunch places in Amsterdam. Highly recommend weekends in a sunny day. The outside patio has a great vibe. The service is amazing. The food has great quality. And the profits of this place goes to a funding foundation. Make sure to make a reservation a few days in advance.
Very popular so make sure to reserve a table if you want to sit outside/inside.Since we didn’t have a reservation, waiter suggested we order take out and sit by the park that was right outside the restaurant. Service 10/10.Food was GREAT too!Yummy!!!
Great salmon, my partner enjoyed the black bean sandwich. We had a little problem with our food but it was resolved in a great way by their staff.
Amazing food amazing service amazing locationHighly recommend the chook norris sandwich, the pancakes and the cheese cake 👌
Amazing experienceBrunch dishes are tasty and well served, and the staff is friendly. The venue is lovely and worth coming to regardless of the weather. On sunny days, sitting outside is a must to enjoy the cozy garden.
Amazing spot for brunch. I had the Benny Boy - Avocado and my daughter had the Orange Winter Shakshuka - both were great. The location of the restaurant is in a quiet courtyard park - very nice
Do yourself a favor and try their Benedict eggs on top of crisssssspy potato hash brown with bacon… omg, decadent and soo good. Their mimosa jar is great too, many portions. Really nice environment, just make sure to book in advance because it’s hard to get a table.
Great place for having brunch in Amsterdam! The place is very nice, they have a beautiful garden to eat under the sun. The food was very good and tasty, we tried new flavors and they were really good. We’re definitely coming back in our next trip!
Lovely brunch place with awesome food and beer options. Awesome location with places to sit outside and very friendly staff. The prices are also okay for the quality of food that you get, for three people we paid around 70 Euros. On a lovely sunny day, I recommend that you sit outside. Also, I strongly recommend that you reserve a place in advance especially on a weekend as you might have to wait for a long time. A must-visit brunch place in Amsterdam.
My favorite brunch place in Amsterdam! It is always my go to place on Sunday, love the location, the service, the menu, the coffee. I always take my friends and guests here. Only negative thing is you need to make reservation with 2+ weeks in advance.
It is placed in a stunning garden and the atmosphere is really chill. It is really recommended place for a couple or group of friends. Benny boy is really delicious and recommended… the taste is very delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The price for this place is absolutely affordable and this place worth for its price.
When you visit Amsterdam, this spot should be your breakfast joint!Friendly and amazing staff that are very accommodating. Met the co-founder and she shared the background of the business being a non profit organization for those looking for opportunities.Must try the Benny Avocado on hash browns and dont forget to add the bacon! Fruit bowl was delicious and as well as their brewed Americano.
Everything was just perfect. Great coffee, great eggs, what more can you ask? Really nice location as well.
The garden is very cosy, one of the best place in town for family with kid(s). Dignita is almost full so its best to have a reservation before. Take away is also possible but in general the service is a bit slow. The taste of the menu items are above the average and worth for waiting. Also the inside is very cosy for a winter breakfast-lunch 🤤
Wonderfull location. Next to the dignita hoftuin is a new WWII memorial monument. Walking distance from hortus botanicus. The food quality is good and lovely presented on the platter. The prices are a bit high, but worth the experience if you want to eat something unique.
A very cosy place , located in a beautiful small garden in a quite neighborhood in Amsterdam .. food is sooo excellent , we literally ordered the entire menu and liked everything 😹💕🙏🏻
Love brunching at Dignita Hoftuin. Great ambience, beautiful location in the garden of the Hermitage, delicious food and amazing service!I ordered the mushrooms with a side of eggs and potato hash - it was delish. My friend ordered the eggs Benny and thats was spot on too. It got a bit chilly sitting in the terrace, but the staff had blankets at the ready. The thing I really appreciate is the chill vibes where the staff arent in a rush to get you out or just take your order and leave. These guys know hospitality. One of my go to places because it doesnt disappoint.
Amazing place with a great vibe. We booked at the other Dignita by mistake…🤦🏻♂️ but the staff made room for us even if they were fully booked… they made our day! Thank you very much for everyhting!
Loved it, very relaxing environment, and the food, even though portions could be a bit bigger, was delicious. Tried benedict with salmons, and also had a delicios chai latte. Really loved the latte spicing.Too bad it required reservations beforehand, so we only got to eat from takeaway containers, but thats not a big deal.
Best place in town to have a brunch. Lovely green garden/terrasse that makes you feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. The food was delicious. Really liked the home made coco yogurt and granola and the Benedict eggs on potato cakes. The waiting time is a a bit long but the food is worth it. Make sure you book in advance.
Beautiful place for brunch. Food is beautiful as well. Taste is not bad. But as a brunch place it meets all expectations.
Beautiful location where you can sit outside and inside (depends on availability). I recommend booking in advance through the website. You also have the option to walk in without a reservation. The left row in front of the entrance is for reservations and the right row is for walk-ins.The service is customer-oriented, attentive and sincere. I ordered the Benny Boy Avocado (check out my photos). It consists of two perfectly poached eggs with avocado, hollandaise sauce, greenery on top and it was served on crispy tater tots. It was really very tasty!! You can also opt for brown bread instead of crispy potato cakes. In addition, I had a fresh orange juice, which was refreshing.A great spot in Amsterdam to enjoy some good quality food and drinks!
This was our last brunch / lunch and … Wow !! It’s really fresh and good !! And you will enjoy it with very very very friendly, helpful and smiling team !PS : a special thanks to Fleur for your positive energy, we will come back for sure on our next journey and we will follow your recommandation about the Café !
This is definitely 5 star brunch place. The chuck Norris sandwich is amazing… everyone loved their order. Fully booked till late afternoon so don’t show up 🤪 the waiter we had was not very friendly… but at the reception they were lovely we were a bit late but the found us a table anyway.
