Atmosphère incroyable, une belle piaule!
Nice place, visited during the rally and was very close to anything you might need, and the owners were also very friendly
Didnt realize check-ins over at 9, drove there for hours after online RSVP, doors locked upon arrival
Ive returned five times, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2017 to this great hostel. The hostel has a great management and very friendly owners, is clean, comfortable and great located - two blocks away from the Water street.
Hostel is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The owners are very kind and more than willing to provide you with tips on ways to make the most of your time in the area!
We booked a private room. Was OK but bed dipped in the middle and only one power outlet. Also only one shower / toilet (same roomon same floor as the accommodation; we were there out of season (Apriland had to queue whenever we wanted to use it. There is another toilet 2 floors down in the basement, but its a trek! Great communal kitchen and good selection of breakfast foods (included for free). Good wifi too, excellent location and very friendly owners. Bear in mind that if youre a couple staying in a private room, youre paying motel prices for a hostel set up.
Awesome staff, and a beautiful establishment! Had a great visit!
Comfy beds, clean, and a nice selection of complementary breakfast items (cereals, breads, jams, etc.)
Very nice, close to everything and very friendly staff and guests!
Great hosts in a lovely area! The hostel is clean, beds are comfy, and the owners are friendly with a lot of knowledge and recommendations for what to do and see in the area. And there is breakfast :)
Très beau backpackers, propre, accueil sympathique, on sy sent comme chez soi. On est au calme et on passe une bonne nuit.
This was such a fun place to stay - we had people from all over the world sitting around the breakfast table talking. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. It felt like staying with a long-time friend.
Digby Backpackers Inn is probably the cleanest and friendliest hostel that Ive ever stayed in. The space is super clean, tastefully decorated and feels like home. Its about a 2 minute walk from the waterfront, a general store, a few banks and seafood restaurants. Its also right down the road from the ferry. Best of all, everything in the kitchen is labeled!
Best hostel I ever stayed at! The owners Claude and Saskia are wonderful and super friendly, helpful with advice on local things to do/see. It was past their busy season so I had a small private room to myself. They were nice enough to charge me 30 instead of the usual 60 since few people were there. Clean spacious common room (with a guitar!and kitchen.Great area too! I will definitely be back here!
What can I say? This is the place. The. Place. Initially booked one night as a budget-conserving stop-over en-route to Halifax, then, utterly charmed, extended my stay an extra night, and subsequently an extra three (wait no...*four*nights, to enjoy all the area has to offer, the wonderful hospitality provided by Inn hosts Saskia and Claude, and great spirit of camaraderie among guests and volunteers. More of a bnb-er than a hosteller per se, I nevertheless have only positive things to say: the rooms and facilities were at once cozy and immaculate, guests in shared rooms were consistently friendly and fun, and always respectful. Lightning-fast internet (for those of us who are addicted, need to stay connected,and/or need to work-out itineraries on the fly), lovely yard with picnic and bonfire facilities out back, and just a three minute ramble to the centre of town (on the shore). Come, eat scallops, watch whales, explore the area, and enjoy the inn!!
Many places say that they want to be your home away from home. Well, this is the first and so far only place I ever felt exactly like I was at home. This place is awesome, simply a w e s o m e! The owners are very welcoming, helpful, nice, talkative and last but not least very funny! I had a great time there and if Im ever in this area again I will not even once think about staying somewhere else.
Best place I have ever stayed. It was clean, comfortable, had loads of space, enough bathrooms and was cozy and warm. It was even nicer then all the hotel rooms I stayed in during my visit to east Canada.
My husband and I stayed two days and our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Digby is well worth visiting and the hostel was very comfortable and the hosts very welcoming and hospitable. It was one of the highlights of our 11 day trip around Nova Scotia.
