Due stelle non tanto per il significato e limportanza dei contenuti espressi dal centro, ma per lincuria e la completa assenza di attenzioni da parte di chi dovrebbe gestire laffluenza al luogo e le visite dei turisti interessati. In orario di visita e in giornata di apertura al pubblico, al nostro arrivo nessun custode era presente e la struttura, pur chiusa, era abbandonata con una delle finestre aperte. Un malintenzionato sarebbe stato in grado di entrare e portate via del materiale. Abbiamo atteso invano allesterno, nella speranza che qualcuno si facesse vivo; ce ne siamo andati oltre 40 dopo la teorica chiusura. Pessima gestione. Pessima figura, povero Ippocrate.

Το διεθνες Ιπποκρατειο Ιδρυμα είναι ένα μη κερδοσκοπικό ίδρυμα με διεθνή χαρακτήρα, που ιδρύθηκε το 1960 για να τιμήσει τον πατέρα της Ιπποκράτειας ιατρικής (Δείτε Φώτο). Όλοι οι χώροι του Ιπποκράτειου Ιδρύματος έχουν σαν μοναδικό θέμα τον Ιπποκράκρατη. Εντός του κτηρίου υπάρχει εντυπωσιακή συλλογή από διάφορα γλυπτά, προτομές συλλογές από βότανα και χειρόγραφα. Ο κήπος δεν είναι σε κάλλη κατάσταση χρειάζεται φροντίδα και δεν υπάρχουν φυτά στα ταμπελάκια δρόμοι με αγριόχορτα. Η συρόμενη εξωτερική πόρτα εχει σκουριάσει και δεν υπάρχουν όλα τα γράμματα.

Δεν μπορέσαμε να μπούμε μέσα οικογενειακός γιατί δεν έχουν POS και δεν άφησαν τα παιδιά να μπουν μέσα 17 και 15 χρόνων οι εντυπώσεις δικές σας .ΥΓ η κόρη μου πήγε εράσμους στην Βαρκελώνη και μου είπε ότι μέχρι 25 χρονών φοιτητές σπουδαστές μπαίνουν δωρεάν στα μουσεία στην Ευρώπη αυτό δεν το ήξερε μου είπε το ταμείο. Very interesting place.

Πολύ αξιόλογη ιδιωτική πρωτοβουλία που αξίζει την οικονομική μας στήριξη για να εκπληρώσει τους στόχους της.Ο κ. Θ. Διακογιάννης, μελετητής του Ιπποκράτη και συγγραφέας κατατοπιστικών πονημάτων, μας υποδέχτηκε με φιλική ζεστασιά και μας ξενάγησε εθελοντικά και πρόθυμα στους χώρους του Ιδρύματος.🙂💯👍

Bellesperienza, soprattutto interessante comprendere ed esperimentare come Ippocrate fu un genio precursore della medicina moderna. Abbiamo trovato un signore volontario che ci ha dato delle valide spiegazioni (in francesee scoprire delle curiosità. Il luogo però concordo potrebbe essere maggiormente valorizzato.

En vacances à Kos, visite en buggy familial de lîle, nous nous sommes arrêtés dans ce musée par curiosité.Déjà une vue magnifique, entrée 6 euro pour 2 adultes et 1 ado de 11 ans.Visite faite par un chercheur qui nous explique en français tout ce quil faut savoir sur Hippocrate qui est né à Kos et sa médecine...et je vous lavoue cest surprenant de découvrir que certaines pratiques nont pas beaucoup changé ! Ensuite, il y a la visite des jardins que je vous recommande... vous vous plongez dans lhistoire grecque et son influence sur le monde.Dernier point, les lectures sont en grec et en anglais.

Als verpleegkundige had ik wat meer verwacht van het museum. Maar ja het is ook maar 3 euro inkom. De tuin met kruiden ziet er wat chaotisch en verwaarloosd uit. De infoborden zijn wel interessant.

A must visit for anyone interested in ancient history.

Small museum but very interesting; anyone in medicine or botany will likely be quite content spending an hour or two here.

Die Ausstellung selbst ist sehr interessant und ist super in Kombinationzum Asklepion, da viel dazu erläutert wird.Leider ist der Garten derzeit nicht so gepflegt. Ich denke und hoffe dies wird bald nachgeholt, die Saison beginnt ja erst noch richtig. 🌺Für 3€ ist es trotzdem okay.Bitte gebt mir eine Rückmeldung, falls jemand den Garten in seiner Pracht sieht.

Please be aware of the old man providing the tour! When my partner and I were shown the clinic room, the old man demonstrated how some of the traditional tools were used. At first it was very interesting to see all the various ways the old tools were used. However, both my partner and I started to feel more and more uncomfortable when the old man began physically touching my partner (bearing in mind that there are COVID-19 regulations in place). It started with a simple touch of the arm to demonstrate how an old cast would be used. He would then carry on holding my partners arm for an unnecessarily long time, moving his way towards her shoulder and explained that the cast would be used for “dislocations”. It was at this time he placed his left hand onto my partner’s chest. This was when I grabbed my partner and placed myself in between her and the old man. The tour started to become sour at this point since it left my blood boiling.The rest of the tour was good since he left us and we were able to explore the rest of the museum and the garden.Note: the old man’s English wasn’t too good and started mixing Greek into his sentences. Which I guess he decided to demonstrate things in a different way. However, it felt as if he was trying to take advantage of a situation. So if anyone decides to visit this museum then please be wary of this old man.

Το Διεθνές Ιπποκράτειο ίδρυμα ιδρύθηκε το 1960 και μέχρι σήμερα στεγάζει μια πολύ μεγάλη ποικιλία φυτών και δέντρων, τα οποία χρησιμοποιήθηκαν κυρίως για την παρασκευή φαρμάκων. Ειδικότερα, το ίδρυμα αποτελείται από το μουσείο μέσα στο οποίο φιλοξενούνται κυρίως πίνακες και αγάλματα, τα οποία εξηγούν με απλό και κατανοητό τρόπο τη ζωή αλλά και την ιστορία των μεγάλων ιατρών (όπως του Ιπποκράτη). Επίσης, το ίδρυμα περιλαμβάνει ένα ιατρείο μέσα στο οποίο υπάρχουν βότανα, αλοιφές και σφουγγάρια που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για τις εγχειρήσεις αλλά και για την καταπολέμηση ασθενειών. Στο ίδρυμα στεγάζεται επίσης ένα φαρμακείο, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει κυρίως βότανα, τα οποία χρησιμοποιούσε ο Ιπποκράτης, για να θεραπεύσει τους ασθενείς του. Τέλος, στην πίσω μεριά του ιδρύματος υπάρχει ένας μεγάλος κήπος, ο οποίος φιλοξενεί κυρίως δένδρα και φυτά που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για την αντιμετώπιση ασθενειών και λοιμώξεων. Είναι επίσης σημαντικό να σημειωθεί ότι σχεδόν κάτω από κάθε φυτό ή δένδρο αναγράφεται και η ιδιότητά του. Συνοψίζοντας, θα έλεγα με σιγουριά ότι είναι ένα μέρος που σε ταξιδεύει. Κάθε άνθρωπος, ο οποίος θέλει να μάθει την ιστορία του νησιού αλλά και λεπτομέρειες σχετικά με τη ζωή και το έργο των μεγάλων ιατρών οφείλει να επισκεφτεί αυτό το ίδρυμα.Το ίδρυμα είναι ιδανικό για:1Φοιτητές ιατρικής2Σχολεία3Οικογένειες4Τουρίστες

Könnte mehr gehen: Interessanter, ruhiger Ort mit KräutergartenRelativ einfacher und ruhiger Ort mit einigen Statuen, Büsten und Artefakten. Viele Erklärungen und interessant für Medizinbegeisterte. Generell könnte man mehr aus dem Ort machen.

Very educational and interesting place, just a few meters from Asklepieion. If you go there you should come to his museum.

Peu d’explications sur le lieu, on n’a pas compris en quoi cela consistait.Quelques salles avec quelques personnes dedans, des ouvrages, un monsieur qui parle fort au téléphone 😄, une entree à 3€/personne, une salle avec des répliques et quelques instruments ancien de médecine.Un jardin de plantes pas entretenu à cette période de l’année.Une très belle vue néanmoins depuis le haut du jardin.

Very friendly tour guide and interesting museum.

Unesperienza bellissima grazie a un ragazzo volontario che ci ha fatto da guida. Si assapora la storia della medicina del grande Ippocrate stanza dopo stanza. Per finire con la consueta visita del giardino per vedere le varie erbe medicinali usate nellantichità.

Interestic museum and exhibition, close enough to the Asklopion Archeological site.

Sehr kleine und überschaubare Sammlung an Kräutern und Gewächs, welche durch Hippokrates zu Medizinischen Zwecken angebaut wurde. Der Garten und das dazugehörende Gebäude mit Informationstafeln, Ausstellungsstücken etc. Ist insgesamt eher mäßig.Für Menschen mit medizinischer Fachkenntnis sicherlich interessant zu sehen, wie die anfänge der modernen Medizin entstanden. Aber alles in allem nicht unbedingt das sehenswerteste auf Kos.

A must visit place on the Island of Kos. Steeped in historic roots...both Ancient, Mythological and Modern, this centre is dedicated to the work and studies of Hippocrates. Its a very peaceful place set in the countryside next to the ancient medical university of Kos. The botanic garden grows plants and trees of medicinal and healing value.

Great place , loads of history . Well looked after. Great for families too

Ein sehr schöner, angenehmer, ruhiger Ort. Eintritt 3€ die es wert sind.Konnten den botanischen Garten allein besichtigen. Danach hatten eine besonders informative Führung im Museum, im Spital und wurden über die Vielfalt der heilenden Pflanzen die noch immer Verwendung finden, unterrichtet.Hippokrates war eine beeindruckende Persönlichkeit die sich immer weiter gebildet hat und hat sehr viele Menschen ausgebildet.

Interesting exhibition about Hippcrates. Building of Foundation is lovely 1960s design. Untouched interiors from 1960s.

Стоит помещения. Небольшой, но очень ёмкий музей изобретений Гиппократа. Тут и лекарства из трав, и трактаты, и приспособления для лечения травм, лихорадок, инфекций и венерических заболеваний. Интересная сувенирная продукция, можно купить собранные там же травы и изготовленные по рецепту Гиппократа мази. И текст клятвы, конечно. Очень дружелюбные сотрудники; директор музея лично проводит экскурсию на французском.

Really interesting place. Lots of info about Hippocrates and his work. For 3 euros you get a tour, information and then time to wonder for yourself, including in the garden. To sum up, this is somewhere that you should visit if you are in Kos, I suspect most tourists dont even know it is there.

We visited the foundation and its museum while on holiday to Kos this summer. We found it really interesting to see the history of Hippocrates and his medical techniques. There was plenty of information written in both Greek and English. The botanical garden was also lovely to walk though as you could smell the herbs. The staff were really helpful and friendly, they also took us on a mini tour and showed us the main exhibits in the museum. Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in history and museums.

Very nice place to observe real history and life of Hippocrates but i think British museum stole everything from Asklepion, because there is no any original monuments in the Museum!

Interesting place to visit to see the birth of modern medicine. Plenty of artefacts to see, lots of info, and gardens.

Its a very peaceful place. The curator is very informative about all the work of Hippocrates and the museum is very interesting... not too high brow.

A must when visiting the island where hippocrates is from! Especially if youre interested in medicine, but the exhibits are excellent, to give an idea of how advanced medicine was back then. Relatively quick visit too, and admission is cheap. Just down the street from the temple ruins.

Here you can find a very interesting museum in Kos about the "father of medicine" Hippocrates, who lived on the Kos island.The entry is not very expensive, just 5€ per person and we got a personal guide which explaind us the museum.Also they have got a very friendly staff!Worth a visit!

Museum part is very very interesting! Neat and clean, friendly people. The garden isnt that beautiful anymore, little let down. But the story is great

The place looks a bit neglected, also no airconditioning was present the time we visited.. most of the plants in the garden are dead.

Weird and therefore nice museum, botanical garden and former hospital. Gives a good impression of the works of Hippocrates. Entrance fee 2017: € 3,–.
