Kebabs & a full menu of Persian comfort foods are offered with wines in a cozy, brick-lined space.
Myself and team have visited here regularly over the last 2 months. Not only the is food amazing but the service Shabab and his team provide is second to none, definitely the best in the area.Only place I would recommend and really great at accomodating larger parties.
Wonderful food served by attentive smiling staff. Great atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. A gem and a must visit
Unfortunately I had a really bad experience in this place when celebrating my birthday. I did a booking for 12 people and they just had 8 seats when we arrived so we had to be waiting for the next table to get free. Then they didnt put any glasses, cutlery or plates to those added seats and they were almost not coming to the table so we could order at least drinks. Someone brought a cake and asked if the could put it in the fridge during the dinner and they wanted to charge us for that. Also they took the orders wrong. I am aware they were very busy but it was really disappointing as months before I went there and all was very good so that is why I decided to celebrate my birthday there. And if it wasnt bad enough 4 people had stomach issues after the dinner. I dont recommend this place at all.
Had a mixed grill for two. Definitely worth the price. Great service, good ambiance and good hospitality.Food arrived quickly regardless of how busy it seemed. I will definitely go back.
Amazing food, brilliant atmosphere, super friendly staff and immaculate service! We visited Diba today and ordered the mouth watering Mix maze and garlic naans for starters and for our main mixed grill for 4 with chips, naan bread and rice. Portions were generous and food was to die for. Definitely will be visiting again very soon. Thank you Diba ❤️
Had a super lunch here, was surprised that the Hummus doesn’t come with bread so you have to order your own however we ordered a Garlic Naan which was freshly made to order and was superb. We also had the Vine leaves to start, followed by a wrap and a mixed meat selection. Really enjoyed the top quality Persian food, service was very polite and attentive, ambience was great and the decor too. I’ll be back, and for what it’s worth I really struggle to believe some of the other reviewers comments.
Unfortunately I did not had a good experience the second time coming back to this restaurant. Kid’s menu was asked first however it was the last to be served children would eat first. My sea bass was burnt and my rice was cold. When asked for naan bread the waitress said that we have to wait for the orders in the kitchen to come out first however was only 3 tables with people. Again, when the food was served, gentleman were served first than the lady not sure if this was appropriate. Also, found that the other tables were served with more attention than our tables that had a diversity of cultures. I’m sorry I will not return
Hejabi person (pakistaniworking in iranian restaurant in a time where the owner perfectly knows hijab is biggest insult to Iranians specially in these times where hundreds have recently been slaughtered because of not wearing hijab in iran. Will never put my feet in this restaurant again. We should have left as soon as we saw this person wearing hejab and working there. Very shameful of the owner. Unbelievable and I chose to come here with my friend because I wanted to support my country. Maybe the owner is working for the Islamic ekstremists in iran who knows. Who would otherwise do this! Shame shame shame on u the owner BOYCOTT this place !
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food but the way we were treated was not pleasant at all bad service with negligence but very well service to other clients don’t know we did not feel welcome at all…NB: that was because of our skin colour what a shame…
Beautiful setup, prompt service and great food. Baba Ganoosh was quite flavourful and Bhagali Polo Machiche had most Tender lamb shank in sauce bursting with flavours, combined with saffron rice it was quite an hearty meal. A must try place
This place is always busy and rightfully so. Extremely delicious food. Fresh baked breads right in front of your eyes. The dips, appetizers & grills are full of Persian taste. Bursting with flavours, the meats are succulent and juicy. Right consistency & cooked to perfection.Enjoyed the experience with my mom!We ordered a lot of food for the two of us. But it was totally worth it!👍🏻
Saeeda and her colleagues were really helpful. They were able to seat us despite being really busy and when my girlfriend came across a chili that was hotter than she expected, Saeeda was really quick to grab her some water! The food was amazing but the service just as good too :D
We had a fabulous set lunch menu at Diba! The garlic naan was to-die-for! Beautiful grilled meats & sides. Lovely interior, music & staff. Enjoyed it very much!
Very nice food and big portions.
I’m happy there’s a good Persian restaurant in South West London but charging nearly five pounds for a bottle of water is very painful. Portions are very small for what they charge. I understand there’s inflation and a high cost of living but this unfortunately makes it very difficult for me to dine with them again.
The food we had before was fantastic.Ordered a second time and the food never arrived. We rang them after the food was 1 hour late and the lady on the phone said it would arrive in 15 minutes. We then rang another 30 minutes later and she assured us it was on its way.We then rang a third time and were told to check the reception area.We then rang a 4th time when the lady on the phone delightfully informed us that the order was never placed, thus ruining our Friday evening. They simply offered to send the food out as soon as possible, without an apology or any compensation, it was nearly 11pm after ordering at 8pm.We subsequently cancelled the order and asked for a full refund. We spent £90 at this restaurant for that it would have been quicker to fly to Persia to eat.
Pleasant place, had the platter for two the Kofte was really delicious 😋 if I go there again I will only have the Kofte only. But the rest of the platter was still good.
Absolutely outstanding, food is fresh, fantastic and tastes great. The service is brilliant and the setting great, being well travelled this has to be one of the finest places I’ve eaten. Wild horses wouldn’t keep me from coming back. Brilliant all round!!
I usually don’t review restaurants, but I was compelled to write a review for Diba. I came to London for a weekend, and I and my friend decided to try Persian food. It was an 11th hour decision, so we didn’t have any prior booking. The staff was super nice, and they accommodated us with a little wait. The place was crowded yet the service was incredibly fast. I’m picky when it comes to middle eastern food, not many places in the UK do justice to the middle eastern cuisines, but trust me when I say that, Diba is properly authentic Persian food. Great food, amazing staff, and impeccable service. Highly recommended!
as an iranian, ive been to many iranian restaurants but ive genuinely not had something as good as this. Every single dish was outstanding. Amazing service and great prices. 10/10
Excellent menu, food, portions and service.Never knew Persian food could be so nice.Absolutely recommended!
A bit of a local gem; I came here with my partner and couldnt stop eating! Id recommend it over a lot of the similar nearby cuisines. There was only one dish that fell below expectations, but everything else was absolutely lovely. Will go again!
Amazing food and great value for money would 100% go back
Very tasty food but services could have been better.1. The online reservation system does not work. Despite booking online, I realized that no booking was recorded when I popped in the restaurant to amend the booking the day before2. When we arrived, the table was not fully set and there was some water on the table.3. We ordered some starters to share. Two of the items we ordered were not served until we asked for them (when most of the other starter dishes were more or less finished)4. One of us was vegetarian but the non vegetarian version of the main dish was served by mistake. After we asked for the correct dish, which to the restaurants credit was served quickly after that, the meaty one was left in front of him, a vegetarian, until we asked again for it to be removed.5. Several soft drinks seem to be out of stockWe were a large party but we came at Friday lunchtime when the place was not very busy. The services were such a shame, especially given the food was delicious.
We have had 2 different experiences at this restaurant and I’d give them 3 star as the food was good last time but we wanted to order 3 different food so we wouldn’t bother with extra plates, but we’re advised wrongly by staff and ordered what was proposed which turned out to be more expensive than our own choice and less food. and this time we ordered ghorme sabzi but it didn’t have meat in it which was not mentioned to us before hand and I could taste spice in it which I never had taste before in ghorme sabzi.
I was brought here by my dear Kuwaiti friend who knew exactly what to order. What can I say. Every single dish was delicious. Their nan style bread is made in the clay oven by the front door. The service was excellent. I will be returning.
Lovely Persian restaurant in Wimbledon, close to the theatre, bus station and train and tram station. Food very nice with the naan bread cooked fresh as requested. I had a selection from the lunch menu, which was naan bread, followed by a minced lamb skewer with rice and salad. Beautifully cooked.
The food is delicious but the service was not great. Mains were delivered before our starter plates had been cleared away. The waitress that served us had no personality and was as cold as a fish. We resented therefore paying the compulsory service charge. A shame as everything else was very nice.,
Excellent service, beautiful decor, and flavoursome food. We went for the falafel and soup for starters, and the mixed grill for the main - super filling!
We had an excellent lunch at the Diba restaurant. We had never tried Persian food before and it was delicious, we really enjoyed it. The staff were extremely friendly and thoughtful. I recommend it and will definitely return again.
Nery nice and cosy place, amazing dishes.Must try it.
Great experience. Kids enjoyed as well. Food was delicious and well prepared. Didnt wait for the food for long. Nice decoration inside and out. Couple of chair was out ( probably for smokers). And inviable service. Thanks for making my daughter BD special.Be back soon.
AmazingThe food was delicious, the staff were extremely kind and amazing, no problem recommend 100%
Very beautiful, artistic restaurant! Good service. Decent food. They gave me some olives for starters and baklava for dessert.I ordered the stew with lamb and okra, it tasted nice, but I’ve had more tender lamb at another Persian place. The Persian tea is ok, but another place have the mint separated to add in the glass yourself, also a candle to keep the pot hot. This place is not like that.Overall, I’d still come if I live nearby. I think it’s a lovely place. :)
Amazing food, nice and friendly staff and very warm atmosphere, they just made our night ❤️
Diba at Wimbledon.Highly recommended!Persian food has really nice different taste.I tried the Baghali Polo, bbq for 1 and fesanjan, all of them were really nice. This was my first time trying Persian food. I must say I fell in love. not at all spicy, tomato and pomegranate taste in the sauce. Nice vibe in the restaurant as as well withPersian music in the background.
Excellent quality real persian food and courtesy from staff, very cozy environment and reasonably priced!
First time going to this place and the portion sizes were great very filling, friendly staff and decent prices. Would recommend to my friends and family.
Good kashk e bandemjan, salad oliveh and mast o moosir, but the koobideh & jujeh were both a little dry. However, overall not bad and worth a visit if youre local and want an Iranian food fix.
Interior is stylishly decorated with fauna, soft lights and exposed stone walls. The flavour in their dishes are striking. We really enjoyed the uniqueness of their chicken wings and the flavour in their grilled meats are way above average, with my personal favourite being their minced meat kabob. Will be coming back for more.
Food was delicious 🤤 very juicy grilled lamb! Absolutely mouthwatering flavours! Really nice decoration and atmosphere inside. Definitely recommend and definitely will be back!
This Persian restaurant serves authentic and sumptuous food from salads to mains to desserts. The ambiance was good. The naan was made on site and it tasted delicious. The price is reasonable. You should try the food there too.
Always fantastic, staff always attentive and the food tastes beautiful. Portion size is generous and almost too much and Im a big eater!
Visited Diba with my husband who is from Iran. Plenty of Iranians in the restaurant as well as locals at lunchtime. Food was impeccable and exactly how it is supposed to be. Moist kebabs, beautiful presentation and the large doogh is for one massive but also the best Doogh I have had. Has herbs just like it should have and is clearly handmade unlike a lot of the shop bought ones. We have visited Iranian restaurants in the East and West Midlands and London and this was the best we have been to by far. Staff are wonderful too!
We had a Friday night meal, an early slot before 17:30 and was already busy, started off with young familys then more your evening crowd as the time went on.Nice vibe from the outside, made it appealing and the same when walking in, staff were friendly too.A mix of cold and hot starters, plenty of drinks to choose from, we decided to go for the garlic fresh and hummus, freshly made and followed by the mixed grill platter, chicken and lamb, fresh, delightful and came with a healthy salad and a choice of rice or chips. Solid portion (see pics)Wimbledon station is just up the road and no longer than a 5 min walk, theres a solid mix of restaurants and this is right up there. Value for money for the size and quality of the dishes, was impressed.Thank you for your experience, we enjoyed that a lot! Would highly recommend it to when passing by.Solid A*****LDT x
Came here with one of my staff after a hard and very stressful day of working. The food and service here made my day! Diba has unbelievably tasty food and the service reflects true Persian hospitality. They were topping up our bread continuously with fresh bread for free and later, when we ordered some Persian tea, they also refilled our tea for free. The service here is simply second to none and Diba most certainly has one of the best Persian cuisine I have tasted. It’s a shame that I live so far from Wimbledon - next time I’m in the area, I can’t wait to return 😍
Cosy and atmospheric restaurant with seemingly authentic, very tasty food. Chicken kebab was tender. Lamb shank excellent. Service is efficient and friendly. Limited wine / beer list but Im sure adequate for most. Reasonably priced - starters, mains, 1 dessert, 1 bottle of wine and service was £40 a head. Well definitely visit again.
They do eat out to help out Mon-Wed but do not take Amex so no shop small. Lovely decor inside, good social distancing between tables and spaces. Low instrumental music playing in the background. Fresh garlic naan was a delight. The ash and aubergine dip was missing a bit of tang, like sumac or pomegranate. The grilled meat was cooked perfectly and very juicy with good portion size. The faloodeh with saffron ice cream was a delight. Reasonable price for Wimbledon.
Easy to find Location. Extremely busy but very good service. Freshly baked naan bread is a bonus and my favourite. Overall Very Good taste, good quality standards and pricing is fair accordingly.Give them sometime to make your order ready, you might find yourself waiting in a queue, without reservation. Not many soft drinks to choose from, which is a bit disappointing. Also, not very spacious seating arrangements. Someone sitting next to your table can approach your plat without getting out of their seat. 😂🤣Very convenient on public transport from Wimbledon station but if youre planning to drive, there are no free parking spots, only available parking is paid; pay and display until 11 pm.Best Wishes
Lovely persian restaurant with the most thoughtfully and traditional decorated interior that we’ve seen in a very long time. All of the dishes we tried were well presented and has an excellent combination of flavours. If this restaurant could have had six stars it would have received. Well done to all of the team and we look forward to coming again soon.
