Soufriere Estate, St Lucia, Castries
Former plantation-turned-park with many ornamental plants, a waterfall & geothermal mineral baths.
Beautiful gardens waterfall and easy to stroll through in about an hour
Beautiful. I was surprised to see how large some of the flowers and certain trees grow here. In my home land they are about half the size. The 3 pools are a bit costly to enter (I didnt try those). The waterfall is a small one but nice. It isnt a huge garden so we probably took about an hour fully exploring. There are a lot of kool spots to take photos. The gift shop has a lot of nice tokens. The pipes were pretty unique. The alcohol was strong (I dont really consume alcohol so I think that it was strong). There are also products made from the sulpher falls (I bought a small soap for $4US but I havent used it yet).
Beautiful gardens. Lovely waterfall. The entry price is nominal.
Beautiful as usual, always an amazing experience that my children (now young adults enjoy.
Our tour guide was very informative!! Beautiful flowers and walk to waterfall
We had a tour of the botanical gardens and we were very impressed and enjoyed it immensely. We thought it was absolutely beautiful with so many colours and types of plants and flowers, and the different colours of the waterfall is pretty cool to see. The tour was about an hour and it was very informative. We saw lots of hummingbirds too! For us this was one of the highlights of Saint Lucia.
It’s really a great place to visit. Highly recommended!
Diamond Botanic garden best place to visit ...
If you cant get to the rain forest, or even if you can, this is a great place to see the flora & fauna of the Caribbean. If you only take one excursion from your cruise this should be it.
It was very nice,must visit.
A bit of a tourist trap, but the plants were beautiful and the guide was informative. The waterfall was a great sight if youve never visited.
It is a beautiful and colourful place with many beautiful flowers and well maintained and lovely staff. A nice black water waterfall straight from the volcano. Plan a visit on your trip to the island!
This was a recommended place that I go to, from one of the locals. The garden has been a highlight. Large variety of flowers and trees on the compound, then the Diamond waterfall, which was a favorite. Whether youre a solo traveller or in a group, you would enjoy it. There is also a space where local stuff are on sale like bottle openers, handmade handbags, snacks...etc. 10/10.
Its a beautiful garden with a lot of different plants and flowers and a small falls at the end.
Small but worth the trip. Very beautiful plants. Paid to go in the mineral baths, but when we got there I decided I was too self conscious with several employees watching!
Many beautiful flowers and plants. You get to see the waterfall (but no bathing).
Amazing place full of nature and beautiful animals. It has a waterfall and thermal pool.
Beautiful gardens full of flowers, highly recommend a visit. There are guides available at the entrance, ours was a knowledgeable young woman, allowed us to go at our own pace with time to see and enjoy it all - pay by tipping at exit.
A nice stop when in Soufrière, the garden is beautiful and the bath in mineral water rejuvenating! Do not miss the waterfall at the back of the baths, a beauty of nature.
What a magical place. Beautiful and well kept. Well worth the $14 for entry and private baths. We walked there from our guesthouse only 10min. Well worth the trip .
To walk this with an experienced guide to tell you about all the plants is a neat experience.
What a wonderful experience of local nature in one spot. Definitely recommended when in Soufriere.
This is a really great place to visit. Its only about a 45 minute tour, but they have a great waterfall and some really cool history. We had a wonderful guide. He was really nice and told us everything about all the plants and history.
Absolutely stunning, far more so in person than in photos! I appreciated that refreshments were available.
Decent botanical garden. The waterfall is nice but not stunning. You can hire a guide just outside the garden, highly recommend doing that.
Amazing to see how spices grow in the wild as well as beautiful flowers. Nice chilled place with some history thrown in.
in love with this place. Not too much of a walk, perfect. Loved all the monsteras growing. Waterfall was beautiful.
We got an amazing tour by Alexander the Great! Lots of beautiful flowers and the falls, of course. We didn’t go in the baths. But otherwise, it was a lot of fun!
Very beautiful area to stroll through. Lots of varieties of plants. Seems like just about anything can grow in St. Lucia. There are other smaller attractions within the gardens as well including diamond falls and a mineral bath. The baths cost extra. Theres a small shop near a turnaround point offering small snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. Like most places the road getting to the gardens is a little rough but not the worst in the area. Its nicely tucked away from the busier town but not far at all and was worth the visit for sure.
This is must see botanical garden. There is an entrence fee but this place is totally worth it. It is beautiful rain forest setting. The diamond falls and mineral baths are within the botanical gardens. You cant get close to the diamond falls, the water flow is not much. P.S. If you are staying in Soufriere, you can take a long walk to the garden.
Good info from the guide. Nice variety of plants from all over around the world.
During covid restrictions you cannot walk around without a guide and mineral baths are closed.$7 USD entry fee + guide tip
Tour Guide was very knowledgeable about the plant life and history. Absolutely beautiful.
Definitely worth the visit to help identify and experience the plants youll see around the island. Our guide was "Alexander the Great," who was knowledgeable and outgoing. The falls are beautiful and make a great backdrop for a photo.
Very nice tour with great information about all of the amazing plant life. Diamond Falls tops it off. Like the leisurely pace with no rush. Highly recommended as a primer on this beautiful green island.
Visited back in 2011, nice to see it has not changed. It was a lush, beautiful place and it follows the typical St. Lucia and islands way of hiring a guide, though one would not really be needed in the States but it does enrich your experience if yours is good and can answer questions. Ask some questions and see.
Extraordinarily beautiful gardens. You must stop here if youre near Soufriere! We had a lovely visit. I could listen to the falls all day!
Beautiful botanical gardens! We chose to meander through on our own without a guide. We walked through, took pics, awwwed over the trees, lush flowers and plants and made it back to the waterfall. Took some more pics and worked our way back out. We were there probably 40 mins. Very pretty!
The Diamond Botanical gardens is a very nice and relaxing place to take a walk, think and explore island nature. I had a wonderful experience when I visited. This is one of the popular attractions of Soufriere in Saint Lucia. Be sure to visit if you are in Saint Lucia.
Very beautiful. Lots to see. If you come here and are approached by someone outside the gates. They might be a tour guide. If they are, ask how much first. Bargain your price and stay firm to agreed payment. That way, you know if it is worth the price for them to show you around. Are guide was very informative of all the plants in the garden. Also, If you decide to go into the hot springs inside the botanical, there is a cost for it also.
The botanical garden of the island! Boasting a variety of tropical flowers and fruit trees. The waterfall is no longer open to the public for baths, but there are 3 hot pools where a guest can enjoy a mineral bath. Also the King Louis XVI bath house is available to guests for a private bath at an additional cost. The staff are respectful, and friendly and will indulge you with in history of the garden. Perfect for everyone, also partially handicap accessible.
Took us about 45 minutes to take a nice stroll around the garden. The diamond fall is worth seeing.Friendly and courteous staff at the ticket office, not too pushy about obtaining a tour guide, which I really appreciate. The gift shop offers some local artwork and handmade jewelry.
Wonderful botanical garden with lots of tropical plants and flowers. Diamond waterfall is worth seeing but you cant go in the water. The sulfur bath pools are extra (about 20 ECbut really worth doing, theyre quite warm but a good way to cool off.
Nice pace of garden, lots of specimens unique to the Caribbean. Well set up to be a relaxing venture. Great for pictures, in a dark atmosphere. Breezy area, cool and calm. Springs directed to baths and are available to bathe in, small waterfall at the end of the path. Wheelchair accessible to the baths and not to the upper garden, but can always take the second entrance to see that area. Tickets are required to enter, over the age of 12 is considered adult, half price for children.
Very tranquil and beautiful location. Our tour guide was very interactive, informative and jovial. I really enjoyed this tour. Theres also an option to bathe in the warm baths at the gardens. Very refreshing feeling.
We visited as part of a big day trip and only had about 30 minutes. Guide was very knowledgeable about the plants however we did go quite quickly and having more time would be a bonus. Waterfall is pretty and strange as it has dark grey water! Lots of interesting rain forest plants and French designed mineral spa baths.
Came here with my parents recently. I have spent a LOT of time in the Caribbean through various jobs, and that has included a fair amount of rain forrest hiking and it was a blast to finally hear the names and explanations of many of the plants I had seen over the last 15 years! Our driver helped us get a local tour guide outside the gates. She was very knowledgable! These guys work on tips alone, and we felt like she deserved a nice one. She did a great job:)
Very beautiful and peaceful garden. I visited as part of a tour packages. Great place for a nice relaxing stroll. The waterfall is very unique with its gray sulfur waters. Theres also tourist shop with snacks and other local items for sale.
A most enjoyable and inexpensive tour! The gardens were absolutely gorgeous. We toured at our own pace, took tons of photos of the beautiful flowers and plant life. A light to moderate hike. You wont be disappointed!
$7 for the private bath and entry to the gardens. You dont need a guide for a nice stroll in the rainforest. The waterfall was very nice. The mineral baths were warm. Get there at 10am to beat the cruise shippers. Have breakfast before at the little place right next to it. Its not a "must do", and we wouldnt do it again if we come back. Im just not a big fan of Soufriere.
