2079 Mt Diablo Blvd, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States, Pleasant Hill
Set in a commercial area less than a mile from Interstate 680, this low-key budget hotel is a 14-minute walk from Walnut Creek BART station and 11 minutes' walk from the Lesher Center for the Arts. The straightforward rooms come with flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi, as well as microwaves, minifridges and coffeemakers.Continental breakfast and parking are complimentary. Dogs are welcome for a fee and with prior notice.
Noisy the one night i slept there.
This is a motel. Smoking area is in the middle of the parking lot to make sure all rooms get a whiff of smokers at some point during your stay. Rooms have been remodeled, thats why they get 2 stars. There is not breakfast, that should be removed from all listings and the website. The lobby is closed so you cant even go in. You interact with the staff via a tiny slot in a plexiglass shield. While my room was remodeled it had a strange smell that I couldnt attribute to anything, maybe the mini fridge? Maybe some spray b/c someone smoked in the room before I came? Maybe the problem is I thought an Inn would be a few rooms in a cozy old house... this is just a motel 6 that charges more. And finally, the I called and asked if the internet was fast enough to work from, take zoom calls, etc. The internet is terrible. 4mb down and 1 up. Cant even stream a movie let alone have a zoom call, so dont think about working remotely here. UPDATE: Youre right, I shouldve done better recon before setting my expectations. Owners are quick to respond and answer the phone, the obviously care more than the normal motel. This is a good motel. Ill update my review for you. Still keeping a star off for the slow internet. Also, the odd smell was the mini fridge. It was set to 7 (the highest settingso I turned it off last night and the smell started to fade. You might want to check those.
No frills but clean, safe, convenient, and the staff is always amazing.
Very nice and clean.
Great place, lousy entry. CLEAN!!!! New refurb, strange bathroom light switch. Will stay again, tough to park full sized pickups....
Im in WC quite a bit on business and have booked a number of lodging there, but I only stay at Diablo Mountain Inn now because they have everything I need. They beat out hotels that are twice the price but arent half as nice. Ive seen quite a few of their rooms now and theyre all quiet and clean with no oddly placed mirrors, unusual smells or creepy stains anywhere. Theres nothing worse than checking in to a place at midnight after having worked 12 hours to find a rust-colored, rabbit-shaped patch on the carpet.I also appreciate that the DMI rooms have: a refrigerator, a microwave, and a climate control that can be set to put out the perfect amount of white noise that I need to get to sleep. The staff go out of their way to see that you can check in and out without a hassle. Theyll email or text straight away so youll have a contact for any issue, but Ive never had to use it.
Clean and stylish room! Felt instantly comfortable!
Easy going. Also when you call at night, you just press in the room number and they connect you to the room. Usually after hours connecting to the room is a hassle
Service here was great! Rooms have been newly renovated, so nice. Definitely would stay again. Really good on the price.
Great little affordable place to stay! My GF and I love staying here! Fairly quiet for being RIGHT off the freeway and even still weve never had any complaints!
For anyone who has stayed at Motel 6 and wants to get away from the police activity, the annoying housekeepers knocking, etc. Then this Inn is a DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. It was like a breath of fresh air honestly. Comfy bed, beautiful remodeled bathroom. (Side note: I don’t like the soap/shampoo dispensers because prior guests can sabatoge). WiFi was strong the whole time, TV cable was decent. Staff was friendly. Definitely will be back. Price was a bit higher but I don’t mind paying for quiet and a good nights rest.
I really enjoy the way the shampoo and soap was already on the wall. I found that very convenient.
One night stay. The hotel was quiet and clean. I would definitely stay here again. Good value.
We always stay here. Chance is a very good manager and we can count on a good nights sleep at a very reasonable price. Although right by the freeway, the rooms are surprisingly quiet.
Dirty shower with only lukewarm water. Beds were okay. Great customer service.
Stayed a couple times and never had any complaints. Very welcoming and will stay again soon.
Cute place to stay at for the night, looks like theyve recently updated the rooms. Bathroom door doesnt have a lock and there isnt an iron, which was only a minor inconvenience. Place was clean and the staff takes COVID very seriously. Our room smelled like disinfectant when we came in and we had a late check in, so that was nice. Bed is very firm, but bedding is nice. Its close to a lot of things in the area and they allow pets if youre traveling with them.
Lets be clear -- its a 5-star rating for a budget motel. That said, its relatively cute, easy to get to from the freeway, and has a number of walkable businesses nearby. My room was clean, the AC worked great, and the water pressure in the shower was *amazing*. More importantly, the owner contacted me when I was arriving late to check in -- just to let me know what to do if I was going to be later than the office hours. Nice! And I left a bluetooth speaker in my room, which they kindly contacted me about. Thats great service!
Nice employees, free breakfast and close enough to lots of businesses. The only downside is the room quality. While they are generally pretty clean, the walls are paper thin and small. The highway noise is loud all night long. As someone with children the noise is not a huge deal to me but it left the experience suboptimal, especially if the people next to are not quiet.
Absolutely dissappointing! I made reservations at the Diablo Mountain Inn because my daughter was scheduled to have surgery at Kaiser Walnut Creek. 2 days before my arrival, I found out the location of surgery had been changed to San Leandro. I called the Diablo Mountain Inn in tears because I cant afford to pay for another hotel in San Leandro and they still refused to cancel my reservation forcing me to pay for three nights, regardless. Just sad that something I have absolutely no control over and they arent willing to work with me at all.
This is great for someone looking for a clean room in a great location with reasonable prices. I was looking for a hotel within walking distance to Downtown Walnut Creek and this place came up, so i decided to give it a shot. The room was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was very powerful and hot. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.I am usually a Marriott or Hyatt person but was deterred by the $300+ weekday rates they are charging these days with additional parking fees. Lets just say I wont bother with them next time Im in Walnut Creek.
I stay here every Tuesday night and although you can hear the freeway its my personal favorite. The rooms are clean and well stocked. You even get a real coffee maker. The only downside is the breakfast isnt much to talk about. I require protein to start my day and a hard boiled egg doesnt quite work. Otherwise, I really appreciate staying here!
Very clean, practical and spacious rooms. Near downtown and yet out of the way for a good nights rest. Friendly and helpful staff!!
The rooms are comfortable and nice very relaxing atmosphere very peaceful you have an area to put your clothes its a reasonable price for what you get friendly parking is good its within walking distance to some locations different things to do in the area definitely recommend this place to others
Well appointed motel/hotel that is a step above the "numbered motor lodges." Location was very close to downtown restaurants and shopping. The room was very clean and well kept. I especially liked that the flooring was all hardwood and not carpet. Free wifi was available, though I did not use it and cannot speak to how fast it was.A basic continental breakfast was served in the lobby consisting of fruit, cereal, pastries (think muffins and coffee cakes), coffee and juices. For the price and location this was a perfectly fine place to stay, and I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.
Highly recommend. Clean room, friendly staff, reasonably priced. We were there 6 days-no complaints.
Solid hotel. Clean rooms, great service at a great price. Always my go to hotel when traveling for work
The staffperson at the desk was very nice. The room was more spacious than I thought and had a cool bathroom. First hotel that Ive seen with dispenser soap and shampoo only. That was an unique touch. The bed was comfortable as well.
Cute place. Close to downtown Walnut Creek. Updated & clean. A bit noisy as its right by a freeway. Would stay there again.
Sorry, this place used to be rather nice. Then they "remodeled." Now it is Sterile feeling and cold. What were they thinking!!?? Very overpriced for what you get. Very disappointing ---
Would stay here again without question. The motel has everything you need without the exorbitant prices of other places. The room was immaculately clean and the king sized bed was very comfortable. Free parking. Breakfast was included, basic but enough so it will get you through the morning without having to spend extra money. Walking distance to the BART. Great customer service. Would absolutely stay there again.
The location is great for a quick stop, as the hotel sits right at the intersection of the 24 and 680 freeways. The breakfast could be improved.
Clean, very cozy and home-like feeling with rather quiet environment(and budget friendly for people trying to save money for other expenses like sightseeing or transportation..). Sure, its right by the 680/24 split, but you can hardly hear the drone of cars at all being so close to the freeway. Major plus!!! I definitely would recommend this place to lay your head a couple nights visiting the bay area! By far way better and feel alot more safe there than say other competitors here in the area, as well as great price for here in the bay area. A must see!! 👌🏻💯
I found the Inn to be a very clean and had renovated rooms. Such a cute, updated 50s motel. Great free parking, close to great restaurants and amazing shopping. The only downside to this cute little Inn was the 5am freeway noise. If you arent a morning person.......bad news and not your place.
Very clean, close to the highway, delightful front desk staff. Bed was very comfortable
Great place, very nice room, very clean room. There is so much within walking distance for dinner and drinks. Also the price could not be beat. Great value, great place, great spot.
Gets 5 stars for cleanliness but now for the bad news: Its situated right next to a busy double decker freeway without a sound barrier - noisy, got zero sleep; the mattress is older than the motel - sore back...I hated staying here and would have spent more to get a decent nights rest if I knew it was going to be so bad.
This is a really nice hotel. They recently remodeled all the rooms and they look great! The rooms are simple, clean, and have everything you need for your visit. Diablo Mountain Inn. is located perfectly between town Walnut Creek and the highway, so its very easy to get where need to. The staff is very friendly and will to help!
The staff here goes out of their way to make sure all your needs are taken care of. Weve been staying there every year for 5 years and theyve done multiple upgrades the rooms look fantastic!
When I checked in initially, I was pleased to find that the room was clean. However, after going downtown for dinner and returning to relax in my room and get a good nights sleep before flying out in the morning, all I could hear was the people above me. It sounded like they were stomping around all over their room. I first called to report this at 10:30pm, per the instructions they place next to the phone in the room about other guests who are loud after 10 pm. The man who was managing the front desk knocked on their door, and things quieted down for a few minutes. However, at 11:45 pm, the noise was still bad, and it was impossible to sleep. I called the number they said could be used for after-hours. The person answered once, and after the stomping continued, and 10 minutes had gone by, I called again (several times), and the person stopped answering the phone at the after-hours number provided. I walked outside to go to the office in person, and another couple was standing outside because theyd been locked out of their room and also couldnt reach the after-hours person. Finally, after knocking on the window of the office, someone came out to help. The couple who was locked out was let back in their room, and the front desk went to talk to the noisy room above me again. However, after he talked with them, the noise continued. I would never stay here again. Clearly, the walls and floors are very thin. I requested to be moved to a room with no one above me, and they could not accommodate this request. The only reason I booked this hotel was for a place to get a good nights sleep before catching a flight in the morning. Given that that didnt happen, I dont even know what I paid for. Very poor customer service. I would never stay here again. I dont remember the last time I wrote a negative review, but beware. Spend more money to stay some place nicer. This was not worth the cost savings, and Im prepared to tell anyone visiting Walnut Creek to avoid this place.
Went to pick up a friend. Briefly stopped in the room, apparently it was recently renovated. Looks great and clean!
Clean and relatively modern room with coffee maker fridge and microwave. The breakfast was basic but good. The wifi also worked well at the far end of the motel.
Clean and staff was very friendly.Could hear the cars going past which might be a problem if youre a light sleeper.
The inn was more like a motel. Its directly under the freeway which made it noisy and hard to sleep. The cords to the television and cable boxes were very messy and kinda precarious. When I went to take a shower I was greeted by a spider. Other wise it was just like any other motel.
It was very clean and quiet, despite the fact that it was right next to the freeway. They also had a nice breakfast. It wasnt fancy but everything was fresh.
Every time we need an overnight stay closer to the things that elude us out in "the valley" we stay here. They make getting away easy and comfortable. A good nights sleep is had by all and my kids love the vacation in their backyard
We needed an inexpensive place near downtown, and stumbled across this place. For the price it was exactly what we needed. Clean, quiet, and the desk person and her assistant were helpful and friendly. We need to be in W.C. regularly and this is our new home! I cant think of any negatives other than it is not fancy or part of a big chain. Totally adequate for a place to sleep and shower. Oh...the artwork in the rooms is actually very good (I am an art dealer).
This charming motel isnt perfect, but the price is right. And, with the low cost comes some very friendly owners and employees. The location is hard to beat. Its so close to downtown Walnut Creek and so close to the Hwy 24 on ramp and off ramp.
My family and I just spent well over a week at this hotel while vacationing in the SF area and visiting family. Location was key in our selection so I overlooked many of the negative reviews. I was prepared for the low key and outdated venue but the price more than made up for the loss of aesthetics...anyway, I found it to be sort of quaint and cozy. Huge, tall shower, clean bathrooms, excellent housekeeping services, pleasant and helpful desk clerk. Unfortunately, new city requirements for public pool depths (Im assuming this was meant for pools with no lifeguardhad deemed their pool unfit to remain open...my kids were disappointed but it wasnt the end of the world. Breakfast was good but seemed to lack variety after a week of the same Costco muffins and fruit. Overall, a decent experience for the amount paid.
I stayed at the Diablo Mountain Inn recently and could not have been more pleased! The morning desk person printed my airline boarding pass for me when I was getting ready to leave, the room was updated in all the ways that mattered and was very clean, the continental breakfast (which is something that is usually useless to people on Atkinsincluded hard cooked eggs and melon so I could eat for free in the mornings, and the price was very affordable in a very pricey town. Walking to downtown shopping and restaurants took about 15 minutes. I had thought I would hear the noise from the overpass, but never did when the AC was on. The AC, though old, cooled the room within minutes and I saw they were in the process of installing new ones. I will stay there happily every time I visit my friends in Walnut Creek!
