Not recommended! This place used to be a good place few years back for dosai. Now its worst. Looks like they use expired ingredients to make curries(sambaruand smelly. But prices are high. Not deserve even one star...

You can experience SriLankan Tamil cultural foods. Foods are tasty and very reasonable for the price. But the place has to be more clean and hygiene. Customer service is ok and staff is friendly.

It is a very old restaurant. S po many generations have visited this restaurant when they were looking for a meal for a cheaper prize.The price factor has been revolutionised over the years. Now it is almost same prizes are being charged as any restaurant around the vicinity of Dawalagiri.Responsiveness of the restaurant is dependent on the waiters or waitresses who provide the service. They are a group whose turnover is very rapid. Some are paying considerable attention to the customers.One standout feature of their food is the bitter taste in Ulundu wade. It must be due to poor quality of cooking oil used by Dawalagiri.Waiters use bear hands in handling Dosai, Wade and all food items. Public Health Inspector in charge of this particular restaurant must look into the hygenic threats of this behaviour.

Perfect place walking distance by Maradana Railway station. This is a Vegetarian Restaurant they have both take away and the tables.Price range also reasonable. Very clean and Healthy food. Recommended to visit with family.

Good vegetarian restaurant. These days customer service is not satisfactory, more like self service. I hope this is only temporary.

Place is good but if they can rethink of how they can improve their payment systems. Currently customers need to pay the bill before its consumed, its not that easy what a customer going when entering the shop, business like this should ideally have a different method rather than this.

They have only vegan foods , fair price range to all foods but they should develop their customer service more customer friendly

Very courteous service sufficient for an vegetarian eatery. They have a large variety of foods bigger than the regular South Indian Vegetarian meals. Most recommended is Masala Paper Dosai.

I do like this place because of the freshness of foods there.. specially that milk. But we face a common issue in parking vehicłes near by. But the vegetarian concept is rarelý feeł to us. That is what we love. And ťhere is one other thing is fish tañk in the restaurent. They swim eveŕywhere.... very pleasent!!!

Had a vegetable koththu which included substantial amount of vegetable, grams and soya in it, and a hot fresh milk. Koththu was tasty with their curry. They had added some amount of sugar in to the milk though but it was drinkable. Had all of these for a very reasonable price. Costumer service was excellent.

I got only fresh milk and 2 ulundu vadai. I gave one star for milk because I felt like there was more water mixed. But I loved ulundai vadai because it was great and I couldnt find any mistakes. I loved them. Its a MUST VISIT PLACE!!

South Indian foods are served here. Typically reasonable prices for all foods.but foods are not like a traditional south Indian food. Cup of plain tea is not taste. All foods are only vegetarians. Restaurant inside is clean.

I ordered chapathi from this place through Pickme Foods and I received spoiled food. Called Dhawalagiri expecting a solution but they hung up the phone. I believe they sent these intentionally because we cant return food after we pay for orders through Pickme. The person who answered the call didnt even respond politely.Poor food, bad customer service and on top of that, disgusting how they treat customers to save a couple of hundred Rupees.

Dawalagiri restaurant is one of the old restaurant at Maradana junction. It is vegetarian restaurant you can have southern Indian style food like Dosa, wada, itli, paratha. They serve some Indian style sweets and for drinks they offer tea coffee fresh milk and fresh fruit juce . No wheelchair access and no dedicated parking space because place is located at Maradana junction .You can have table service .they serve on stainless steel plates very basic .Only thing need to worry about is sanitary facility is very basic not clean.

There are clean and good quality vegetarian foods here. Price is fair. The staff treats the customers well.

A Indian food joint which has been there for decades.Not the best but reasonably good Indian food place near Maradana railway station.Service is good. Even in the busiest times you could expect a fast service. Prices, not the cheapest but not unreasonable. wash rooms definitely need to be improved. They serve tap water by default but bottled water is also available for normal prices.

I went there last two days ago. Its vegetarian cafe, you can have Dosai, Masala Dosai, String hoppers, Ittly, Ulundu Wada. Masala wada & A la bonda also. There are so many Indian traditional foods. Its very delicious foods.

Pure Vegetarian hotel at Maradana. Wade, those, string hoppers, chapati, idly is some of the items. Delicious tasty food. Most of the time serve hot food. Fresh. Vegetarian rice and curry lunch also available. Masala thosai, ghee dhosai prepare as we order. Plain tea, fresh milk and fresh milk tea available.

A nice place to have a vegetarian diet. Includes family dine in. Maintaining a good quality when serving food. Would be crowded if visited in rush hours. But the waiting time is much lower. The prices are somewhat acceptable for the quality of service.

One of the best places to eat around Maradana since my school days. Just keep in mind they serve vegetarian food though the quantity for the price paid is HUGE. Quality can be said as decent.If you only eat from posh places this might not be your cup of tea ;but please do try if you are a person who actually enjoy a large variaty of food.

Foods are cheap and tasty. I have been few times. I wondered whether it holds any cleanings/ hygiene certificate or inspections going on frequently. Because since recently its hygiene is not satisfactory. There are flys everywhere. bread kept on the floor. Inside ventilation is also poor.

This provides best vegitarian food in the area for a little price. It always holds Colombo Municipal Council certification for food hygiene. But sometimes, only a certain kind of food is available.

But because this is an old established place, and there are no better places around for food and the relatively cheap did, this place exists.

Good place to take breakfast. Dawalagiri seves food hot and fresh. You can enjoy your meal with the experience of traditional Sri Lanka tamil cuisine.Customers area is clean and kept tidy all the time.But the waiters do not use food handling instruments. Bear hands are being used instead. No manager in duty pay attention to this. Usually every customer is seved with two dosai and a wade, another variery of wade called Ulundu wade and a bonda. Almost all the time, customers are used to touch each item in dining. Left over food items are taken back for the next customer.This practice is a significant concern for me.Cleanliness of the kitchen and wash rooms couldnt be commented as I didnt visit.PriceOne dosai, one ulundu wade and a high sugar plain tea costed me Rs. 115/=.

Such a famous vegetarian hotel located in Maradana. Few years back they saved good tasty food, good service and 100% clean dining areaBut now days they do the same but the foods a not much taste like earlier.Any how still they do good service and they have clean dining place.The price not so bad it is reasonable.

It was famous place for vegetarian food in Maradana. The standard of the food and service have dropped. No parking space. I will not visit again for a meal.

No pure vegetarian hotels/restaurants are in borella or maradana (eg.ananda bhabawan,dhawalagiri,luxmi villas etc).these hotels are using dry tuna(மாசிக்கருவாடு,උම්බලකඩas a ingredient in various currys.these hotels are actually scams.vegetarian meals are very expensive than non veg meals.servers get most part of the salary from customers tipping. but these restaurants are not honest to customers.they wont serve foods in lunch sheet over the plate.you can get some bugs/worms in your dish.labours are smoking in the kitchen. .labours are not neat or clean.tumbler and plates are not washed thoroughly.

When ever I go to Maradana I always get food at Dawalagiri.I am a vegetarian.This is ideal place for me and I like the Dosai,Masala Dosai,Wadai and Ulundu Wada.Some times I order Uthapam also .I like Uthapam very much.I must say the manager /owner is a very kind Tamil gentleman.I have walked inside there kitchen also to see how and what they are cooking.The kitchen is clean and a interesting place comparing to other hotels in Colombo.
