Very average. Not much flavor to my food . Mac and cheese tasted powdery. Wasnt worth what I paid for

Drive 40 minutes to get beignets for a small party. Told I could only get 1 order at a time and had to wait 15 minutes between orders. Told we can’t overwhelm the kitchen and there was only 1 person waiting for food. Very disappointed. They should change this policy.Update. It took 5 minutes to get the order and they were gracious to let me order a second. 🤷‍♂️ Guess they kitchen isn’t overwhelmed.Update. While typing my update the second order came out. I’m so confused about the kitchen capacity.

Ordered side of red beans and rice. Definitely not red beans and rice that I got that they are selling as such.No flavor. I got a side of it, tried it and threw in the trash.

Saturday night @ 9:30p and NO beignets! Or do you not want to make anymore? FYI, the beignets are the best thing they offer, they should always have those on deck. I will pass on everything else. So disappointing & poor weekend planning.

Some pretty good food im not gnna lie been here like 3 or 4 times, soo delicious. I went there again drove back home and noticed they got my order wrong. I recommend checking your order before if you decide to eat at home 👍

I went in to order some begnets and was greeted with an angry response telling me you can only order one order! So I explained I drove far and would have liked two orders and basically was told rudely to be considerable of the other customers! She was just being rude and was not allowing me to order food! If someone comes in and orders 2 or 4 of the same order does she tell them only one per customer? That didnt make sense to me? Rude but good begnets.

There is nothing on the menu I have not like or tried this place is a must stop everytime I come to the IE. The service is excellent and the food is always hot made fresh after you order were

REVISION: Responded very quickly and refunded me for the inconvenience.ORIGINAL: Ordered Mac and Cheese WITHOUT shrimp and it still came with it. Cashier emphasized that it would still cost the same price without the shrimp which was acceptable, but what is not acceptable is the fact that shrimp still made its way onto the plate. My girlfriend is allergic to shellfish and seafood… since it was buried under the food, she took a bite, and least to say it came as a bitter surprise and shock when we found multiple shrimp. Very disappointed.

Was about to take a bite of the macaroni and a piece of hair was inside of the food. I also tried the veggie patty, but it didn’t taste authentic like I have had before where the crust is a bit more flaky. The catfish was seasoned well though.

The food is amazing good ol comfort food, that speaks to the soul. You cant beat that. Dhat Creole Grill you gotta try it.

Absolutely DELUCUOUS!!!!!!!!! Excited to try everything else on the menu now that my first taste of their creole shrimp, plantain with red beans and rice was sooooooo successful and enjoyable. Thank you for such excellent quality food!!!!!

Its so inconsistent, sometimes ill go and the beignets are very good and another time theyll be terrible. Today they were flat, greasy, powder on some no powder on others, one huge one and a tiny one and almost no dough inside. Its expensive when you get nothing in return.

I took a gamble on Dhat Creole considering I eat the same food all the time so my Hopes were high wondering what would be my outcome once I eat the food. Food was BOMB.

Great customer service. BUT!!!!!You better off going to Golden Corral for Bourbon Chicken.Maybe my taste buds different but this is not it.Plus $15.00 for a "SIDE" of Bourbon Chicken!!!!!LMAO!

Visiting riverside for work and Im so happy to have found this place ... Wow is all I can say. You have to have the beignettes. So delicious I feel like Im in new Orleans. Ive had the jerk & bourbon chicken, the melie jambalaya & of course the beignettes (almost everyday Ive been here its located in the foodlab but hands down the best restaurant in the foodlab!!! Bon appetite!!!

The food was delicious. I got the Meli Melo recommended by Brittany which was wonderful! My husband got jerk chicken and bourbon chicken and said it was really good! Would definitely recommend!! Edit: Got Beignets for dessert which left everyone saying Mmmmmm..... Thank you friends!!

Food was very delicious. Minus 1 star because their "gluten free" jerk chicken plate came with a scoop of macaroni salad on the side. If you advertise something as gluten-free, please make a substitution so that the whole plate is gluten free.

I was really excited to try this place especially after seeing on the online menu that there were plant based menu options. When I arrived, the plant based options that were on the online menu were not on the menu in store, so I asked the cashier what plant based options there were & she told me what they had. Then I continued to look at the menu to figure out what I would end up getting since apparently the plant based options I saw online dont exist. Perhaps the online menu should be updated. I let a customer go ahead of me, as I continued looking at the menu. When I was ready to order, I stepped up to the register, & the cashier girl rolled her eyes, walked away, & asked another worker to take over. She didnt even let me know someone else would be helping me, which is the least she couldve done. Once my food was done & I took it I barely noticed when I got back to my car that the box, as flimsy as it was, had not even been closed properly & the juices from the food was spilling out into the bag. Then the food itself was not even good, & Im sad to say, as I had high hopes for this place, I couldnt even stomach the whole meal. If I could give no stars I would as the food & service was just horrible. Disappointed to say the least & dont recommend at all.

The food and service was amazing!!! It was the perfect location for some creole food as well...a very different twist!!! I loved my shrimp and grits!!!

Ordered food went to check in on it after 30 minutes because the buzzer never went off. Turns out they never made my food to begin with. Would not recommend. Service is terrible. Food looked sub par and staff in the kitchen are eating food as they are cooking it.

I really enjoyed the fried catfish and shrimp combo! It came with a ton more food than I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised by the plantains. I will definitely return here. Soooo yummy!

The most disgusting, cold, small parts of “jerk chicken, too much blended black beans, cold rice, left over everything. disgusting shrimp & grits.. running grits with 3 to 4 shrimps, cold.. it seemed like they were selling left over food. Never again./

I love coming to the Riverside Food Lab. But Dhat Creole Grill is my spot. Ive been here twice and my experience has been wonderful on both occasions. Friendly, professional service. I always order the Jambalaya fries or the catfish and shrimp. I highly recommend both! Theyre pricey but the give you a lot of food so its worth it.Both times they have been so well seasoned and delicious. Especially the catfish! I love the catfish! Never dry either or overcooked. A little spicy but just the right amount for me. 😋

I ordered the “BEN-YAYS” and they were super good guys it was like little crunchy, spongy, donuts!!!! With caramel sauce. I also got a Jamaican pineapple soda, it was good tastes just like the stuff here but I love me some pineapple soda 🍍💛Definitely recommend!!! 👌🏻💕

Food is extremely good thats why there is always a line. The fried fish is delicious. If you get the shrimp Mac n cheese you wont be impressed and might find maybe one shrimp. Other than that food is great. Service is great. Beignets are nothing compared to café du monde but theyre pretty darn good. Ive been to Dhat Creole Island restaurant which has better quality food but this is the next best thing

This is my favorite place inside the Riverside Food Lab. It is one of the very few actual Cajon/Creole-style restaurants out this way and I have not been anywhere near disappointed with it.

Went there for the first time. Staff went beyond to make sure my experience was great. Very patient and provided awesome service. Food tasted great! will definitely be going back!

The food is great but their customer service could be better. Food 5 star, customer service 2 star. Then they won’t substitute veggies for other things?? I can pay the extra... cashier blamed it on manager. When asked for manager he wasn’t even there...

We love the food here. But because we live about 30 minutes away so we dont make it out as often as Id like; today we took the drive. The food was awesome, as usual, but the service was severely lacking and we may not be coming back anymore. Ill explain.My wife and I placed two, medium-sized orders to go. After waiting for 40 minutes we were getting frustrated, especially after seeing people who showed up 20 minutes after us receive their orders. Neither of us wanted to complain but we finally decided to ask why our food still wasnt ready. The staff were friendly and told us that they were waiting on our beignets. What was odd was that a gentleman who came in about 23 minutes after we did (we noted his arrival because he had two large dogscame up to complain about the wait before we did and he walked away with two orders of beignets while we were still waiting to speak with the cashier. As he left we heard her apologize to the man for the wait and tell him they gave him extra beignets for free for his trouble. So essentially they gave away our two orders of beignets to pacify some whiney jerk who was waiting for far less time than we were. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease but still, we felt cheated. We ended up waiting another 10 minutes for our beignets to be made. So what should have been a 10-15 minute wait ended up being over 50 minutes by the time we left.While we were waiting we even went to another restaurant in the court, ordered an appetizer, received our order, and had plenty of time to eat it ALL before we eventually inquired about the wait at Dhat Creole Grill.They were pretty busy but a 50 minute wait is unacceptable. Keep in mind, we already drove 30 minutes to get here. So total time spent was about 2 hours round-trip, with the wait included. The food is good but its not DHAT good. I may stop by if Im ever in the area but Im definitely not making a dedicated trip on the chance it may happen again.

Service was good, staff was nice & wait time for the weekend was not that bad. I was excited to try their beignets, unfortunately out of 8 only 2 were well cooked. The rest were raw. Very disappointed, I hope they can review their items before giving them to customers.

We got the fried chicken, beignets, and jerk chicken plate. Ive only gotten the beignets before which is a staple here that curves that Disneyland craving. The friend chicken I believe is with corn flakes, is very crispy, flavorful, and juicy. The jerk chicken plate comes with a lot of food. It was fantastic and had leftovers for lunch the next day. I think this place is underrated, overlooked, and in the current climate, deserves more recognition and support.

I was surprised to see a Creole eatery in the Food Lab, but it was the first restaurant I actually tried when I first came here. Once I saw the beignetes on the menu had to have them. They are so delicious, but I got to warn you dont wear black or try to breath while eating them or your going to have a mess are your hands, coat, tie,...etc. Well worth it though. Oh and, try the empenadas if the have any theft. Get either the meat or meatless. Both are good. Cest Si Bon!

Grabbed some Beignets on our way out and these were the best Beignets Ive had outside France! Im definitely coming back to get some more and also try some of the other food they have to offer.

I was underwhelmed. Meat pies and beignets are the best items, they are excellent in fact. The rest of the food is just okay. Its not horrible, but it leaves something to be desired. If you have the word Creole in your name your patrons are going to expect depth of flavor more peppa, fire, spice, more heat more flava. The textures are off everything was too soft, soggy,too wet, you need some crunch. On the customer service side they need staff that understand the menu and the options/ appropriate pairings/ combinations. The wait staff dont really seem that invested or knowledgeable/maybe more training is appropriate. I will definitely come back to see how this place evolves.

I enjoyed the Jamaican beef patties. I want to try the jerk chicken next. The beignets were delicious. Customer service was excellent and I didnt wait too long for my food.

Mediocre Jerk Chicken served in smallest portions imaginable. (Literally 1.5 cups of each entree. Yes, I measured.)Its a fast food chain of sorts so I guess I shouldnt have expected as much of a kick.The desserts are ok

Amazing, amazing beignet!!! I went to New Orleans and had them there at Cafe du Monde for the first time recently and was worried about finding anything as good on the west coast, much less in Riverside. Stumbled on Dhat Creole Grill checking out the Food Lab and oh my God, these are better than Cafe du Monde. And the staff is super friendly too. Thank you, thank you for setting up in Riverside, cant recommend this place enough!! :)

Pretty much have tried everything there. Nice to have such a large variety at the food lab. Everything there has been good so far. Dont forget to try the beignets, they are awesome. My only recommendation would be for the servers to explain the dishes with a little more detail. They cook with a lot of great/different ingredients and I have small children so it would help to know what ingredients are in each dish. I will definitely eat there often.

World-class beignets are finally here in Riverside! Dhat Creole Grill, located inside the Riverside Food Lab, is connected to the exceptional restaurant Dhat Island in Redlands, California. They are equally worth a visit for the delicious Caribbean Fusion cuisine. Their food will transport your senses to the Caribbean and make you feel right at home. Dhat Chicken with the red beans and rice is my personal favorite. Here the beignets can also be purchased at a separate window/counter behind the main counter if you only want dessert. With or without the dipping sauces, these are wonderful. The owners have a beautiful aesthetic in their decor here and in Redlands. Either is a place for a special date, for sure!
