Denny's in Lubbock

What got me was, you can tell by looking around that this place was very understaffed. Employees not showing up or just not wanting to work. Anyway, The staff that was there to do their job, did an excellent job. From the moment we walked in, the waitress sat us down, gave us our menus took out drink orders and then gave us time to look at the menu. Meanwhile shes trending to at least 10 other tables that I could see just in the front area. Quickly she returned with our drinks, took our order and always topped up our coffee cup with hot coffee. The waitress being the only waitress in site, never let our cups run empty. Our food came out in less than 8 minutes and it was cooked exactly the way we ordered it and it was nice and hot. Even after delivering our food to the table she came back to make sure everything was fine, we said yes, she said enjoy your breakfast and went on to her other tables. After about 15 minutes she returned and asked if anyone wanted dessert or to go drinks or anything else to which we replied no. She placed the ticket on the table, she said here is your ticket, no rush just whenever youre ready you pay upfront. Thanked us and wished us a great day. Service was amazing even after being short staffed, the waitress nor the cook ever lost their cool with a full house. As a matter of fact when we were walking out the cook was in the back doing his job, whistling a tune. Looked up waved at us and said have a blessed day. That to me was customer service at its finest!!

Dont order online majority of menu is not available at store and staff tells you to call an 800 number to get a refund. Just dont go

We received excellent service from Christy P, she was very nice and had a great attitude. The food was delicious and I will be coming back. Thank you..

Breakfast for dinner. Yummy omelet! Good service even though they were short handed on a Friday night.

Dennys is a great place to visit fot simple and tastey food. We were not disappointed. Prompt service, great staff, excellent location.

I was drunk 🥴 🤣 and they were a little busy. Despite the kinda slow service, food was good. It was about 2am when we went. Our waitress was so chill even though I was probably quite a bit extra. 😅 Too bad I cant remember all of it.

I am a nation wide transporter. I have eaten at many Denny’s and this is the best Bourban Chicken I have ever been served. Clean restaurant friendly staff and great food.

Great crew and management. We had fun and the food was so good.

Server was not friendly. Order did not come out correctly but I was not sending it back because we had someplace to be and we could not wait for it to come back. The place just felt dirty. No salt in the shaker and the shakers were dirty. No jelly or sugar in the little containers.

Mistakes were made on my order. But were quickly corrected with a smile. A great breakfast meal deal for 7. bucks.

I love Demnys, but this location , great food, service was great as always, the flaw, which we slmist left over was the roach walking on the glass partition behind me, I dont think ut was due to lack of cleaniness,, or sanitation, it happens

I was just picked up an order from the 50th and slide location and was not happy with the service provided nor the food my family received. First off when I walked into the front door and approached the front counter I noticed 2 young ladys who were in Dennys uniform and a young man sitting in the first Booth across from the register. One one then asked why I was there. I told her I was there to pick up an order so she yells at an older lady,who works there as well , for her to come take care of what I needed. As the other young lady and the young man argue right next to me. The older lady who was yelled at started to make my order while the 2 other girls just sat around not doing anything But argue Infront of customers. The food was cold, bacon was rubbery, hash browns were cold and extremely greasy, seasoned fries were smothered in zucchini and squash so they were really soggy and falling apart,also zucchini and squash was way under cooked. I used to love to eat here but the past few years the quality of employees and good has dramatically decreased. I dont think I will ever eat here again. My family was very unhappy with the food my kids would not eat anything but the pancakes and the only edible thing on my plate was the chicken fried steak my wife could only eat her pancakes...SAD DAY

I dont complain when I get Dennys ever because I know exactly what I am ordering. I think the whole calling it The burger Den and something about melts is a little misleading, but at 230 In the morning Im not upset about it

Food was wonderful and wait staff was kind, prompt and attentive!

The overnight cook, Spencer, is amazing. No matter how many times I come to eat here his food is always phenomenal. No matter how busy the restaurant seems to be service is prompt food is delicious and everything is handled with style. Love coming here at night.

We had the Best waitress ever. We went to the one in Lubbock, TX. She was wonderful!!!! The food was great too.

I asked for soft scrambled. I guess very few cooks. Know the meaning. Eggs are not suppose to be over cooked. My sourdough toast was not buttered or very toasted. But the coffee was good

My mothers favorite place. So Ive been here too many times over too many years. And no matter who owns or runs it, its awful. Food is awful. Most wait staff is friendly and it is NOT their fault so we are always friendly and tip the wait staff. But you could eat better at a Walmart Deli.

The food was excellent. Nobodys doing their seven day bathrooms had feces all over the stall. Coffee was dripped all over the cups and hair was on the plate. Still paid. Still tipped. Everybody wants a paycheck. Nobody wants to do the job

The waitress we had was awesome!! Sherry had me laughing the whole time. Will definitely go back!!

Normally I don’t post online reviews, but this location deserves some words. Not only did it take over TWO HOURS to receive my food, but when I called, the individual that had answered the phone picked up with a very rough attitude exclaiming “what”. I am a service industry worker, and I understand the issues that could be happening, but I feel like communication with your customers could most definitely benefit you. I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant before, and frankly, I will not be going to this location ever again. I highly advise any individuals looking for breakfast food, or good service, to steer away from this location. Like I said, I usually don’t write these reviews, but this location deserved a very negative review.

Our food was so good and the pancakes were so big I couldnt even eat it had to take it home. Our waitress was super nice and attentive.

I delivery for Uber eats I had a order to pick up there at 6am when I got there the order was not ready. I was told that the cook decided to clean the grill at the last minute and to come back in 30 mins. I went to pickup another customers order and went back. When I got back he still had not started the order it appears he had forgotten 😕 and started someone elses order, so I had to wait another 15 mins. I was very disappointed and he made me miss out on a 9.00 dollar tip. So disorganized.

OMG the waitress! She actually acted like she wanted to work, was happy to have a job, and happy to have customers. Ill absolutely go back when Im in town.

Today was the worst customer service I’ve received! First I was serve to-go cups and was told that the dishwasher had not cleaned the cups properly, which is understandable. But then I see my waitress serve another group of customers glasses not even 5 minutes later. Then the menu was very limited due to the fryer being out. And the waitress had an attitude.

HORIBLE HORIBLE service!!! Not only did they send the wrong food (thru Uber eats(and which Dennys employee knew they sent the wrong foodbut we had to take the food back with receipt before we could get our food (which was cold when we got it). The whole time David, the night manager had a horrible attitude, like it was our fault the order was wrong. Then David threatened to "whoop" me because I told him the customer service was not any good😁. Ghetto! Id give "no" stars if I could.

Waitess forgot about us twice. The food took forever to come out and part was missing. The mozzarella sticks were undercooked when we finally got them. The A/C above my head was dripping on me and my part of the table the entire time. I would have overlooked the rest of it was for the A/C situation. The should not have a table with food positioned directly under that.

Food was good and as ordered but service was not the best. Waitress was very brash and seemed overly rushed. Manager just standing around gossiping with staff instead of seeing me at the register to pay. I was 3 ft from her. Had to interrupt her gossip to pay.

We went to this dennys for breakfast, the truth is that they treated us excellent, even the waitress talked with us, we had a very nice breakfast and the food was delicious, as you couldnt expect less, the prices are within the range of these restaurants, the place was quiet and I clean.

I ordered a T bone steak to go. It tasted great along with the mashed potatoes. I took one star off because I wasnt given cutlery and had to eat my mashed potatoes with a straw.

Service slow, looked dirty, my chicken sandwich had a piece of scouring pad (metalthey clean the grills with. GROSS!!!! A new sandwich was made, but just couldnt eat it. I was nervous. They took my sandwich off the bill that was a good idea. Never go back.

We waited for forever for our server to grab us drinks, our order and even the food. There system had went down while we were there so they were yelling at the kitchen staff on the things they needed for customers. Them poor guys couldnt even get a break. The manager on duty that night was very disrespectful to the kitchen staff. Smh... the other people I was with said rhere food was alright. The burger I ordered was dripping with grease. I couldnt even eat it. We definitely will not be returning to this location.

While the service was ok..the wait staff was severely lacking. The lead(?waitress was yelling at kitchen staff...barking orders and making rude comments as to their proficiency while customers listened.New trainee in kitchen was trying to keep up with her demands..but very unprofessional attitude and actions by her.. Christine I think.. Lord help them if this is the manager😳 Additionally, an older female waitress batting orders at a younger waitress for putting the salt and pepper o the wrong side of the table and arguing with her in front of customers.Will not revisit this location.😒

Wait staff very inexperienced, the other one was very hateful, cook needs to learn how to cook, husbands steak was completely raw, I ask for over medium eggs and they were sunny side up. We love to eat at Dennys they have so much to choose from but I dont recommend this one

First time to eat there at Dennys on 50th and Slide. Right from the beginning we were treated very special welcome. The hosts greeted us on a friendly matter. The breakfast was delicious 😋🤤 and cook to our ordering. Thanks to all of the breakfast staff at Dennys

Clean, tasty, not too crowded or loud. My only complaint was the wait for our food, after we ordered but, even then it was the best I have had at Dennys in a long time. Congrats, five stars

Sit there 15 to 30 minutes and bring out cold food! If you want a good hot breakfast this is not the place. If I could give them a zero thats what they deserve. Dont waste your money!!! Horrible service

The wait staff was mediocre and didn’t check on us much. It was busy so somewhat understandable. The cook, however, David, gets 5 stars for sure. Worked his tail off back there getting orders ready, though they sat for a bit before being brought out. He had me and my husband cracking up, would visit just for dinner and a show again

The line cook, David, made our nights. Really made our time there enjoyable. I have never had such a good time at Dennys. Keep killing it, David!

It took them about an hour to get food out but overall it was well worth the wait. Great customer service. Keep up the good work this was at 8:20pm 3/30/2022 you what we all need to work on our Patience every now and then God bless every one. 🙏

Didn’t like it. The food was okay. But the service was wack. The hostess just kept screaming about where her cigarettes were. Didn’t give us utensils and the everything was gross. The night shift is much better. I don’t know. I didn’t leave a tip 🤷🏻‍♀️And she proceeded to be rude. Like mam tf

I was treated very well I this branch the staff greater me and showed me where to set, they gave me the menu and served me unlimited coffee. I enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast with the bandage which was extraordinary.I liked this place and I will revisit should I have another chance.

Every time I revisit it seems better.Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. The Breakfast was delicious.---‐------------------------I had not visited Dennys in a while. It did seem better.

Enjoyed a great family breakfast here on our day off. Our waitress Kathleen did a great job. She was fast and got all of our special requests right. She was also very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for the delicious food and excellent service!

Its been a while since Ive ate at Dennys. Ive always gotten a great meal here. This time I was a little worried when I got there. There were no customers at all. I had already went by several other places to eat, but couldnt get near the door to go in. To many people. I went in Dennys and was seated right away. I ended up getting the chicken fried steak. It was one of the best dinners I had in a long, long time. Not over cooked, like a lot of places anymore. Just a great meal. Thank you Dennys for still having a great meal at a reasonable price! Highly recommend!

It was awesome! Food was great as usual. Our waitress, Brittany was really nice and sweet.

Both food and service were TERRIBLE! It took over an hour and a half to get our meal. Yes, the restaurant was short handed, but the hostess/waiter never stated that our food order would be FOREVER to serve. When the waiter placed our order in the window the cook, young guy with long hair who was listening to music through earbuds, complained about having to make it. We noticed him because the waiter kept banging on the counter to get his attention when placing orders; which drew our attention. We didnt order a 5 course gourmet meal; just a Burger, Sampler Plate, Philly Steak Sandwich, and the Meatloaf Plate. The waiter finally brought our food to the table in stages, yet we couldnt eat for about 5 mins. more due to the lack of silverware. I had to get up and get them from underneath the work station myself. The Philly Steak Sandwich was filled with mushrooms and melted cheese and only 3 slices of steak and it was served on a cold bun. It felt like it was taken right from the refrigerator (see the photos). I asked the waiter to have the cook to heat it up on the grill, and the cook said, "I dont understand what she wants". The side order of corn from the Meatloaf Plate literally was a teaspoon size serving. The burger was not dressed properly...and on and on...We were NOT PLEASED AT ALL!

10 Jan 2018 @1130, Dennys is my preferred breakfast place. Today at this location I was disappointed. The floors were dirty, and felt slippery, the booth I sat in had a tomato on the floor along with random papers. The table was not clean, and booths had accumulated crumbs from multiple meals. This was by far the worst experience Ive had at a Dennys. The food was extremely greasy, I had a headache when I was done eating. The couple in the booth next to us agreed that food was greasy. I really hope they understand that its a team effort to keep a business clean. Lastly they claimed the food was greasy due to a new cook in training.
