Beef Burger was delicous and the service was even better. Great stop-over for a weary traveller. Will definitely return.

Awful. Promised food that never came. They should have said service was impossible. Instead we waited 2 hours for no service.

The custom service was terrible ...placed our orders at 745pm and had to go ask for meals at 920pm after people that arrived latter were being service meals. The manager made no attempt to apologize was rude and still charged full price i wont be going back there again.

Me and my girlfriend had bruch here and the food was amazing. Great price, big portion, and very tasty. The staff was really kind as well. We definitely recommend this place for others :)

Late lunch on a Sunday,so not much open. Great pub grub, buger and chips and a nice cold beer. Good service

Food was amazeballs. Free pool table and a nice speights to go down while waiting for your meals. Kids menu is abit pricey however. Otherwise great food, great atmosphere.

One of my favourite place when visiting Westport friendly staff easy parking and the services is always with a smile.

Westport is graced with some excellent eating establishments. And the Denniston Dog would have to be my favourite. I have never walked away disappointed. The Food is delicious, Staff are excellent.Called in last week while I was in Buller for a few Beers and a Burger. Happy Hour made for some decent prices on drinks. Seemed to be more understaffed than usual on this crazy busy Friday night. But the Staff were attentive and friendly at all times. Food came out quick, and extra drink requests tended to promptly.The Denniston Dog has stayed consistently excellent over the years, and I highly recommend it! :)

A well known local bar and eatery. The menu is rustic with many kiwi favourites including stone based cooking for steak, tasty beef curry 🍛 and fish 🐟 of the day. Great service and facility layout for guest to socialise

Glad to be able to get a table for four without a booking as the place busy, always a good indicator of how good the food is. Service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. I had the pork belly, it was very good. One son had the burger and really enjoyed it. Other son had the hot stone, a new experience which he enjoyed. My Wife was very reluctant to share her delicious chicken dish. Looking forward to visiting again.

What an amazing experience. Food excellent. Atmospheer great. Renee was a fantastic host. We thoroughly enjoyed both nights’ dinning at DD. Three of us went for lunch. Ordered a drink each and a meal. Food took quite a while to come out considering they were not very busy. Buddha bowl was colorful but bland - not wild rice, luckily we added chicken. Pancakes with bacon were yum with nice portions of banana but no enough sauce. Eggs Benedict was essentially cold hard boiled eggs with bacon and hollandaise. I made a sad face on my plate with the dry yolk.Our server never come to ask how our meal was so eventually after sitting around we got up and went to pay. The cashier still didnt ask about our meals so I had to say about the eggs. No compromise like a free drink or less off the meal.Atmosphere was nice and spacious layout though.

Querkerly different from the instantly noticeable yellow and red building to the nicely furnished interior. Add to that the ladys knowledge and brilliant service then the lovely melted Camembert on stone grille with toasted bread and 2 dippings and we walked away very happy.

Staff are as usual wonderful and attentive, food was excellent, particularly the chocolate pudding. The mains took a wee bit too long to come out though.

The food was excellent whitebait was yumm chicken was yumm . The chips i would of preferred to have been bigger so less chance of over cooking them , but if thats the only complaint then we are all good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful . DOG friendly must be on a leash . Toilets were very clean. The menu had a wide variety of choices . Opening hrs vary from day to day , see one of the photos .

Nice pub meals. Slow from the kitchen (2hrsbut we were a big group and didnt book, so no worries. We had drinks, served by our lovely young wait person.Nice we could support local.24 of us Aucklanders!

Brilliant place for dinner, staff were very friendly. A great place to relax. Loved the hop plants.

We visited about a week ago a Beautiful venue loved their hops vines outside and they have a nice selection of tap beer, But I have to admit that was the most horrific service I have ever received by a woman!She was so busy telling the waitresses and bar staff what to do that she completely forgot about us I listened to a younger waitress tell this woman that we needed to be served and heard this woman tell her that she would get to us and that we were fine! (We were in fact not fine it had been near on 20 minutes since we’d finished! she proceeded to tell this young girl what tables she should look after while ignoring us! After about 10 minutes of us waiting the young girl came and nervously cleared our table and apologised. I told her it wasn’t her fault and I understood she asked if we wanted dessert and described the dessert menu and gave excellent service.No surprise to me as I then watched this older woman tell off the waitress for serving us and taking our desert order!Another night we were there This particular woman also got upset when we asked for another round of drinks and told us we would have to leave shortly as they were closing it was only 8pm!Whether I recommend this establishment or not is dependant on who is there. Food was really good and most of the staff are kind and extremely helpful this other woman however was a nightmare! We will be visiting again regardless of some of the staff rating.

Meals were a little small for pricing. I ate two mains and Im not a big Joker lol but beautiful and great service.

Good service, great menu options. Love the ability to cook my steak myself. Kids meals are huge.

So far on our Sth Island Great Beer & Chip Trip they have pipped the previous best score. Nice little place for a meal.

Great food and atmosphere. I had the stone grill for dinner which was delicious - the fries were like little roast potatoes. The wine I ordered wasn’t right but I wasn’t too fussed as the staff were welcoming and friendly, making sure we were served and comfortable. Nice music too!

The carbonara was really good, good portion size for the price, good value. Not too saucy, just right!

This place had good reviews but we didnt experience what we read. The staff liked to chat about their lost phones while in the middle of getting our drinks so took a long time. We ordered the seafood chowder and while this had a heap of seafood in it the fried fish just didnt work and there was a lack of flavour. The pasta was in to much sause and had full size mushrooms in it with a small amount of bacon. Will avoid this place on next visit.

Steaks and entrees were fantastic, massive serves! We ordered calamari and lamb croquettes, 400g stone grill rump and the 250g sirloin. Got a bit excited, should’ve halved the main. We are still talking about this meal a few days on. Only let down was the attitude of the senior male manager, he didn’t make us feel welcome.

Stopped in for dinner at the Denniston Dog. Loved it. Awesome friendly staff were great to chat with and real quick with the service. We had the stone grill which was beautiful. The steak was excellent as youd expect but the sides were equally good. Would love to try more on the menu. Great atmosphere in the cafe and the outdoor area looks good for a nice day. Cant wait to come back.

Amazing food which fresh and local fish, was let down slightly by some strange service. Definitely would recommend for food.

Fantastic cafe to go with young children. Great coffee and hot chocolate, and lovely dessert options. Friendly staff. I love the photos on the walls of Dennistons history.
