Delray Diner - Diner in Marietta, United States
Delray Diner in Marietta
Description
03/13/22: their doors are covered and all of the lights are off. Its a shame, I always stop here whenever I travel to Atlanta. Was really looking forward to a good stir fry. Hope its not a permanent closure.
MoreOverall service was good but experience could have been better. The good portions was good n fulfilling. Usually this place is jumping but idk maybe Covid or it could’ve just been a dead night. Furniture in business looks like they could use some upgrading or at least some touchups with booths; some stained & alcohol seemed kindve watered down. Ordered spaghetti, calamari, shrimp Alfredo & salad.
MoreI really enjoyed the food. Rachael was nice also. It was a coincidence that after I had read the reviews Ill serve her turned out to be Rachel which I read good reviews about her. My daughter didnt really like her pancakes or the bacon other than that I enjoyed myself out of all of the restaurants weve been to this week visiting Georgia that one would be number two on my list.
MoreFantastic meal. Pancakes were out of this world. Corned beef hash was a hit. Service was stellar, and Tom was extremely welcoming. We were treated like old friends, not customers. We will definitely be back! Get the cheesecake. Trust me here.
MoreThis place just doesn’t know what it wants to be. It’s a metropolitan diner that sells international cuisine at extraordinary prices with a sports bar. It’s the kind of place your mind creates in a dream because there is no filter for you to consider. The worst part is the food by far, it’s as if they melt down soylent-green capsules and present them as “turkey” or “beef.” Absolutely disgusting, I didn’t finish my meal yet physically couldn’t bring myself to eat anything else that day. When I tried to explain that fries should not bend like they are sodden with WD-40 and that in no parallel universe can turkey be gooey they argued that “That’s just how we make it here, it’s ‘Different.’”Thank goodness I wasn’t made to pay for it or it would have had to undergo cognitive behavioral therapy to try and understand how anyone could see that place as anything other than a crime against humanity. Disgraceful.
MoreVery clean diner and kept nicely! Rachel, our server and her mother were lovely!! Best part of the visit. We went because it was right next to out lodging for the night and trying to be quick for traveling!A little pricey for diner food even though portions were large. The best for me were the french fries (after adding some salt! The beef gyro had a funky texture and not a lot of flavor in the beef. Also, usually,.the onion and tomato are cute very thinly. They had chunks of lettuce tomato and onion. Feel off as eating. Only ate 1/2 because of texture.Daughter order the 7 spice fried chicken, it came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Mashed potatoes were horrible instant potatoes and watery. Daughter said the chicken didnt taste fresh but reheated. (She works in restaurant industry). Husband got french toast and it was huge and delicious. Son ordered a chilli burger. He was confused as he doesnt like chilli.Oh and in the womens bathroom, 3 stalls had padlocks on them and only one open. Not sure what that was about but found odd.Again,Rachel and her mother were the bright spots! Oh and I guess the empty parking lots should have been a sign!!
MoreWhat great customer service, hospitality, just genuine greeting and guidance. Food came promptly. The gentlemans were so pleasant. All workers were so gracious. Love the atmosphere. Def will be back. & will recommend. Such welcoming Great service matters. Very clean diner as well. Well kept.
MoreI think the owner was our waitress was Really nice. However, Didnt get what I ordered and ate it anyway. Food overall was not up to expectations. High price for breakfast. Not really that great...
MoreI got greeted and sat down immediately and the server I had was a cool guy. I got my food quick as well, which probably wasnt good in the sense because it was egg benedict. The sauce tasted like it came from a can unseasoned which I just scrapped it all off and the fries couldve been cooked longer as well.
MoreI ordered food here not too long ago and was happy with my Ruben and bread pudding, I ate it all. So I just ordered the same thing this evening and right after my food service company dropped off the order, the driver called me and literally begged me not to eat food from there. I was baffled and asked her why and she told me that there was just things there she saw that she wouldn’t feed her children if they were starving. I was like well damn thanks for letting me know and giving me the heads up. The food definitely wasn’t as good but if she wouldn’t have said anything to me I probably would’ve ate the Ruben and I had ordered a roast beef sandwich which did not look so good. Choosing from reviews left by other patrons I don’t doubt her story but who’s to say she doesn’t have an agenda. So weird. I threw away 97% of it. I couldn’t do it.
MoreThe service was REALLY slow and the concensus in my party about the food was it just wasnt well seasoned. The crabcakes were good but everything else just wasnt seasoned well at all.
MoreTheir carry out portions are just pathetic. For what they charge you its borderline robbery. 16 bucks for 9 regular size shrimp and a whole container of fries. If I didnt know better, Id think that im paying more for the fries than the shrimp itself. Go to Marietta Diner instead, at least their price comes with good food and portions.
MoreWaffle House has better reviews than Delray Diner, if you choose to eat here dont say you weren’t warned. The pricing is very high for a diner, they charge you a Credit Card fee that just appears on your bill without notice, the mens bathroom has 2 stalls with padlocks on them and the hand dryer is out of order. The server was great and cheerful.
MoreStopped here after a later flight during a work trip as they were still open. The server was friendly and very gracious and gave us excellent service. The restaurant was slow but she was very nice and attentive. That said, the food was okay and nothing to write home about. They do have a lot of choices but the menu could be more cohesive. Had there been other options I would have tried that out.
MoreGood selection of food, good price for the quality and selection. Like many places you may end up waiting a bit due to staffing, so I wouldnt go if you are in rush.
MoreLate night dinner, dined In with coworkers and friends.Ambiance was chill, once you enter you are greeted by deliciously made desserts, which by the way are homemade and the red velvet was awesome!Kennedy who was our server/bartender she was FANTASTIC AND AWESOME! Her suggestions and recommendations overall was awesome!! Definitely comming back and y’all should check her out she’s an A+!! 🥰☺️
MoreIt I could give zero stars I would. WORST experience since moving to GA last summer. The complete disregard for customer service is what baffles me. Walk Im around 10:30am and theres TWO customers in the entire place. Takes over 5 minutes to get someone to seat me. Order a coke, waitress brings it and says shell be right back to take my order. i waited at least 10 minutes listening to the waitress talking with a customer at the counter. I have had enough and leave. Manager (total piece of workyells out after me when Im almost to my car that I owe him for the coke and starts to take a picture of my car. I get out and give him $5 for the horrific service and even worse treatment in hopes he uses it to train himself and his staff because that was hands down the worst restaurant Ive been to in the Atlanta area. I dont care if the food is good, you dont treat people that way. Ever! Trashy, trashy, trashy.....
MoreI am only giving one star because 0 wasnt a option. The only thing that was good at this restaurant was the server. They ran out of chicken. Which I am convinced the only reason they told my daughter was because it would be hard to pass a different meat off for chicken, and it was a main ingredient. My husband received a country fried steak with a white sauce that tasted sorta like cheese. They ran out of dressing so they slapped some slices of regular white bread on my plate. No seasoning, and not even cooked... at all.. Then they topped it with grilled lunch meat turkey, and gravy. One of the employees admitted to me that they do have dressing, but that if they put bread under my turkey then they had ran out of dressing. Keep in mind that is a entree that we was being charged over 19 dollars for. Then a lady I believe may have been the head waitress tried to convince us that the white sauce was Greek gravy. When I told her what the worker told us about the turkey dressing. She wanted to know who told us that. I wouldnt tell her who because I felt like she was going to get in trouble. Our family ended up sending our food back, and leaving. We did end up paying 57 dollars for 2 appetizers, 2 mixed drinks, and 2 sweet teas. We ended up going to Marietta Diner. I notice menu items from there looked like items from the other restaurants menu, and even their building looks like Marietta diner. I will never go back.... ever! Not even if it was them or starve. My whole family agrees.
MoreJust a great place w good food & atmosphere / hospitable people. kudos to Sierra!!! Everybody mentions their great server. See pano photo. I had a terrific big breakfast at noon.
MoreOur waitresses Kennedy & Melody were both absolutely amazing and I mean that 100%!! Entire staff was great to our 4 kids who can ask a lot of questions at times, they made the entire experience awesome for a family of 6! Food was great, portions are huge! So we will definitely be back!
MoreThis is one of the best if not thee best diners/restaurants I’ve ever visited. The customer service is exceptional and the food and portion size is perfect. Kennedy was our waitress, and she was awesome, so please request her as your server. Every moment that me and my husband spent in Marietta Georgia was beyond our expectations.
MoreThis is a wonderful place to go if you have extremely low expectations or standards! The men’s room has 3 stalls— 2 have locks on them. Only 1 of 3 sinks is working. No paper towels. The service is slow as molasses and the waitstaff is struggling to remember orders— try writing them down!!! Parts of our orders were missing but we just ate them as-is because we knew the missing items wouldn’t come to the table until the rest of our food was stone cold. We were right. There is a constant beeping at or near the front door. I have to assume that they know about it but just ignore it. The carpets/booths look like something salvaged at a Taco Bell estate sale. The manager looks like he give zero damns about the joint. Not far from the Marietta Diner so that’s a plus.
MoreGreat restaurant! Delicious Greek, Italian and more international flavors and many fresh seafood choices. Just had a beef gyro and coconut cake slice! Super good! Awesome Customer Service and management! 24/7 open and a great place to visit.
MoreAte half a slice of strawberry shortcake before I happened to see the bottom of the cake, which had specks of green mold all over it. Disgusting. Ordered via a delivery service. So not much I can do about it. Check your desserts before you eat!
MoreNot sure who the bald tattooed guy is but Im a fan. Drinks were very good, food was great, and and the fruity pebbles cake my wife really liked. Definitely will be back. The service was excellent. One thing I didnt like was the non cash fee. Not really sure why that was part of the bill but still didnt take away from my enjoyment.
MoreThe diner offered outdoor seating and was right next door to the Hotel where we were staying. The waiter was friendly and gave good service. It was around 7:30 or 8:00am and we all ordered omelets and eggs. The eggs were dry and overcooked and the hash browns had an odd flavor. The ham with the 2 egg order was dry and looked like it had been cooked several times. The “soft scrambled eggs” were over cooked and had an odd taste. When they were sent back the waiter did not charge them to the bill, but also did nothing to prepare something worth eating. This was an overall disappointment especially considering 2 eggs with grits and ham was 14 dollars. I would expect for them to be cooked perfectly. The morning cook needs to be retrained or replaced.
MoreThe food and atmosphere was fantastic! Our waitress, Crystal, was the best we have ever had. Anytime we are in the area this will be the place for us
MoreWhen my boyfriend and I spotted Delray from a fast food restaurant nearby we decided to go try it out the next morning. It was about 8am when we arrived and it wasnt too busy. The dining area is a refreshing change from the typical, boring chain restaurant decorations and designs. I really like their style, it was clean and somewhat elegant. The server was attentive and suggested a few dish upgrades we hadnt tried before.. I took his advice and liked it but my boyfriend still isnt a fan of grits. He ordered the chopped steak and wasnt familiar with the style or its rarity and the owner took it upon himself to make sure he was satisfied.. he did way more than necessary and we really appreciated the level of service they provided. I had ordered the country fried steak breakfast plate, it was served with 2 eggs, I got my eggs scrambled and went with grits instead of the potatoes. The cfs was perfectly flavored and everything else was perfect. I cleaned my plate (with some assistancebut didnt save room for dessert, which I highly regret. The desserts are displayed at the entry so theyre the first things you see and almost impossible to ignore. Since I didnt get any on my first visit, Im planning on going by before leaving Atlanta to get a slice of chocolate cake or pie. I would definitely recommend Delray Diner and I hope to make it back again next time I visit the area. Thanks for a great experience guys! We loved it!
MoreNice twist for a diner. Colorful neon exterior rope lights on building. Interior decorated with lots of sporting memorabilia from all around tge world. Lots of seating and large tvs. Serving all kinds of alcohol and homemade pies.
MoreHad one of the best experiences. The diner was clean and the service was outstanding. Nick our waiter was very professional, very polite, and straight to the point. He grabbed our drinks in a very timely manner and took our food orders. He also helped us out and when I randomly ordered a cup of fruit, he brought it right out. He made several stops to check on us while we were dinning, and made it very simple to ask for anything else without hammering us with stops and questions about our food. In addition, our plates were fully loaded and delicious.I rate this a 10 stars late night visit. We appreciate the service and the staff, especially Nick and we will be Back.
Morei absolutely loved this place. Our server was so kind. The food was AMAZING! Well-portioned, cooked perfectly. the atmosphere was exciting and inviting.
MoreIt was alright. Layout was decorated nicely but service was 5/10. Food was not as pictured and misporproptioned. Fiance and I ordered ribs and neither received the half rack, I got like 4 ribs and he got like 3 so we switched plates, I received a large order of fries he received a small, the drinks were strong, would I go back.... eh... theyre open 24 hours so only if I needed to.
MoreFirst visit and definitely the last. Was not greeted until about 20 mins after begin sat, and it was not busy at all. Was given children’s menu without any crayons, So I had to get them myself. The server who also is apparently the owner did have any customer service skills at all. He did not smile the entire time, he messed up the order and didn’t correct it until it was time to pay, when he brought the drinks they were overfilled which caused them to spill on the table and he didn’t even acknowledge it or apologize. After paying he decided to give us an extra order of pancakes inside a container labeled “California pizza kitchen” . When leaving, he decided to give us free cookies that were as hard as rocks.
MoreWe went during lunch, arrived around 11:50am and didnt get out till 1pm. Sadly they only had a few tables with people so we are not sure why it took so long for the food. Maybe a lot of online orders, not sure.Inside its like a mix of a nice restaurant and a bar with TVs and sports shirts on the walls. They do have a lot of variety in terms of food. To us the food was good but nothing spectacular. Sadly the Cosmo was in a regular glass and was mainly juice. It is open 24 hours per day, so it may be good at 3am when everywhere else is too packed.
MoreIf I could give them zero stars, I absolutely would. My boss and I went today at 11:00AM and we were the only customers there which was fine. A few other customers came in over the course of the next 30-45 minutes but nothing crazy busy. Server was pleasant. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. My boss ordered a panini and French onion soup. My salad was nothing to write home to Mom about but it wasn’t bad either so I ate up. It’s hard to screw up salad (unless you get food poisoning! More on that in a second!). My boss wasn’t thrilled with her food but did not complain. Her panini, which I assume all paninis are made on a panini press, was a sandwich. Not a warm panini mat all. But whatever...we moved onto dessert. When you walk into the restaurant, there is a beautiful display case full of all sorts of pies, cakes and cheesecakes. We decided we’d order some pie and a piece of cake to go for my husband. The boss decided she was going to try hers before we left the restaurant so I figured I might too. I’m a slow eater so I was still grazing on my salad at this point. She takes a couple of bites and says it has another flavor. I make a smart comment that the flavor “better be coconut cream” since we both ordered the same flavor. As it turns out, the extra flavor was a full line of mold in the crust. Blegh! The manager, who was not present, wasn’t there to address the situation. The server removed all desserts and took 15% off our meal. The manager (or owner or both, unsurecalls me because I left my number. Proceeds to not let me get a word in edgewise that his server gave me the display pieces of pie and not sure why he did that and please come back to get fresh food. Um, no thanks! Why would I ever come back to a business who has moldy food! And why is your display pie moldy sitting right next to “fresh” pies and cakes in the same display case. He did not offer any additional refund - and that’s fine. I had no intent on ever returning and a good lesson learned. Two hours after speaking to manager/owner, he begins texting me! Pictures of his restaurant, harassing me telling me he can teach me the restaurant business and to spread the word he’s selling said business for $4 million. This guy is obviously off his rocker. He finally left me alone after I threatened to call the police if he did not stop.Save your time, your money and some sanity. Stay far, FAR away!
MoreGood food with decent pricing. We paid $23 for both the omelette & waffles & 2 drinks. Our server was nice, there was someone always checking in on us.
MoreHad ground beef nachos, they were really tasty! And for $10 it was definitely more than 2 pounds for such a low price. Their service is very professional as well, I felt at home. I recommend you definitely try their food! I got to this point after 20 minutes of eating.
MoreThe server was really nice. I asked if the corn beef and hash came from a can or sliced and diced. The server said it was not from a can. I ordered it and when it arrived it was mushy cornbeef that you would get out of a can. The potatoes were fine. I ate some of it. It didnt come with toast just some eggs. My friends food looked good. They had the breakfast special. They had pancakes AND toast with their breakfast.
MoreWe are there late at night. There salad was fresh, the dressing is strong acidic vinegar based. Go easy on them. The Greek style chicken was very dry(could not get my fork into the thigh, the veggies were good but barely steamed and the Greek style potatoes were delicious with lots of lemon juice on them. The lasagna must be Greek style because it tasted nothing like a lasagna, barely any meat inside and dry.On the upside the sweet tea was good. The staff was friendly and it was clean.I suppose the cakes look good, but we didnt want to chance it LOL
MoreFood was excellent( both the country pot roast, and the lamb shank are highly recommendservice was really good/attentive, and it has an interesting Interior. Definitely a good meal!
MoreAwesome food, impressive bar, pretty cool mix of 70s upscale kinda dining area with a pub feel surrounding it. Had the reuben which was delicious. Our server was some older new Yorker kinda guy with a really funny dry sarcastic sense of humor. Very different and delicious.
MoreThis place is amazing. From the first time we came they treated us like family so we keep coming back. All food even the sauces are made from scratch. From the lamb. Mash potatoes, french toast with Turkey and cheese inside if it (my fav), chicken Alfredo, eggs and cheese, pasta.Yum yum yum oh and cakes whooooaIf your in Marietta or not drive there its sooooooo worth it.
MoreThis place had great food. The desserts were delicious! The service was excellent! There is a full bar so you can have. Few drinks. There is karaoke from 10pm to 2am. It is a fun atmosphere!
MoreGot there around 4:00 on. Friday and we were the only customers. Server was very friendly and responsive. My wife had the New York strip steak and I had the country fried steak meal. Both entrees were HUGE. We each took one half home for the next day. The server warned us about the size and she wasnt kidding! The food was really tasty and well-prepared. Well definitely go back.
MoreDel Ray Diner was extremely clean the staff was friendly met us at the door and said "Hello" to us and seated us promptly. The tables were clean the food come out hot I had to quesadilla which was spectacular and my wife had the cobb salad which had a lot of great tasting chicken and it was a humongous salad that she said was outrageously good!! The Management came by, very friendly and sincere. Thank you Del Ray Diner!
MoreI think i ate almost everything here from the french toast, the chicken parmesan, lamb shank with mashed potatoes and vegetables, waffle with eggs and cheese, burgers and fries are amazing, the sandwiches, the hummus and eggplant, pink lemonade, all the cakes and pastries. Oh and u must taste the shrimp salad and the crab salad #realcrab. The service is always great. Here is the menu for lunch and dinner. But french toast and the lamb dinner are my fav and a must try. #localguides
MoreA little leary a first since its been open for a couple of months and havent seen the parking lot full ever. For the locals its similar to Marietta diner in price ($13-$24and quanity of food (pic is of my fried grouper at $14.99).The taste was good but the unfortunate part was due to the lack of customers/activity everything was previously frozen and not taken out until ordered creating a little lengthy wait for the food to arrive. The french onion soup was good and came out shortly after the bread.I think this place has some potential but they will have to come up with some type of hook to get some regular customers.Maybe a different unreal priced meal each night until the cilentle is built up.I wish them my best in successJay
MoreGreat atmosphere, amazingly friendly staff, and reasonably priced! We ate at both the Marietta Diner and the Delray Diner. Our entire party preferred the Delray. Special, which offered lots of options, was great and included soup or salad, main course with sides, and choice of dessert for $15.Staff was extremely friendly and made some great recommendations. Also NO WAIT when we visited! We will for sure be back!
MoreA wonderful place to eat with excellent service. The portions are uuuuuuge, the desserts are divine. Make sure to look at the daily specials when ordering because theres always good stuff on that separate menu. There is a great outdoor patio to enjoy on those beautiful days.
MoreJust spent over an hour waiting. First spent 20 minutes before someone came by with a couple of waters. Then waited another 20 minutes for our easier to show. Then waited another 20 for him to come back and take our order. Did I mention we were the ONLY customers in the place?! The only other occupied table had what I assume was the owners sitting there. So after waiting another 20 minutes after the waiter took our order, a server comes out... with food for the owners! So I go to the front counter and tell them Ill gladly pay for the iced teas, but we have to cut or losses and go. The older gentleman (kindly fellowpleads for us to stay, hell pay for or dinners. I tell him no, thank you, but well try again when things are running better. My wife and I get in our car and begin pulling out, when one of the owners/ managers comes out yelling for us to come back in because we cant order and leave. All while holding HIS basket of food that he was eating! We currently sit here in Marietta diner... got our drinks in less than 2 minutes, order taken, food on its way... All in the time it just took me to write this! Marietta Diner... now THATS a diner
