Housed in a 150-year-old building, this hip bakery & cafe serves breakfast, sandwiches & pastries.
And amazing place to eat breakfast or lunch. Wish they were open for dinner! Its an experience to eat here!
Breakfast food is amazing! Only white wines ☹️ and the decor looks like a Pier1 decided to be a cafe. But the staff was nice and decently priced. Had an Asian salad this time, soooo good!
Amazing Pastries, phenomenal breads...just wow. Love this place!
This place never disappoints! From the delicious food to the fabulous staff and ambiance! This restaurant is now a staple of Petaluma if you ask me. Have you tried the lemon rosemary bread? Its heaven on earth. And dont get me started on the lavender latte 😍 do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this experience!
Tammi was excellent! Prompt, so personable, warm, attentive, and sweet. Loved her!! She deserves a raise! The atmosphere was beautiful, loved the smell of flowersStunningFood was wonderful, and prices were surprisingly affordable for such a nice atmosphere in this area. Will be back, thanks to Tammi 💛
Best biscotti Ive had. Disappointed as heck that they are no longer at the Ferry Building Farmers Market in Frisco. Miss my coffee & biscotti. Hopefully the next time Im in town I can take a drive. Enjoy their bakery you wont be disappointed.
Tammy gave us the full experience! Spectacular service, ambience and food. The pastries are to die for. Cannot go wrong with ANY choices. Absolute gem, do not miss. Can’t wait to return and also a great place to pickup a hostess gift to bring on to your next stop (homemade granola, biscotti, focaccia bread🖤
They have a hidden 3% fee whenever you use your card, the frustrating part is they dont tell you about it and they never bother giving you a receipt. So unless you ask for a received you would never know
Absolutely amazing breakfast. Highly recommend if youre in the area.
Wow, i LOVED this place! My sweetie found it by accident, we just walked into it.We werent that hungry, so we just ordered the pizza dough tuna sandwich. It was so light and crispy, it was EXCELLENT!But, what i loved most of all, is the French eclectic decor, with chandeliers everywhere, red ribbons and red ❤️ s in large scales. I just loved sitting there.Do pop in for feasting your eyes, then feast on something delicious for your stomach!
Wonderful food in a cool vintage setting. We had a large party (5 adults & 2 kidsbut we’re seated quickly around 9:30 on a Saturday. The line for pastries/bread was already quite long, and a line built up behind us very quickly. Get there early! Service was quite slow, but our server was friendly and very good. 2 of us Had the eggs Benedict, one had a Benedict special with shrimp & avocado, the polenta, scramble and kids had pancakes. We were all very pleased with the food. Was nice to not feel rushed but with kids in tow having the food out a little quicker would have been nice. Probably about 40 minutes between when we ordered & food came out. Good food takes time, so just come with a little extra patience and you’ll be 👍🏻
The staff was lovely, helpful, very kind. Wait was a bit long but the food was worth the wait.
Perfect breakfast spot! The polenta was delicious.
I passed by this cafe and turned around for a light pastry. The interaction that I had with Leah & Michael was one of the highlights of my day. They were both engaging, friendly, and informative. In fact, my experience was so positive I came back for full breakfast this morning. Everyone interacted with seemed genuinely friendly and smiling. The food (had the hashwas very well done. And the pastries were sublime. I would recommend this place for the food definitely; but it was the service that really made it special. Leah and Michael - thank you for the love.
Absolutely excellent all the way around! Service, atmosphere and food! Cant go wrong! Try the corned beef and poached eggs! 😉
Loved pastries. Service for dining in is super long (we were ready because of previous reviews), took waiters maybe 20 minutes to take our order.Avocado toast is really 3 toasts, would be good to share.
Hands down the best bread and pastries around! Fantastic flakey pastries and the best bread Ive ever had. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check this place out. They also have bread at some markets around the bay.
What a place! It was the week of Christmas so the decor was so fun and festive. But even mid year I’m sure this would be a treat! Don’t miss the honey lavender latte. Bread sells out EARLY
Its true, Della Fattoria makes the best tuna melt in Sonoma county. Imagine a delicious foccacia-like pizza dough, capturing flavorful lemony tuna with crunchy pepperoncini and peppery fresh arugula. Its SO good! The cappuccino made me feel like I was back in Italy, perfect! They even let us take a free loaf home. Love this place. Incredible food, amazing service. A Petaluma gem.
Pretentious and rude. Ignored by our server. After about 20 minutes of waiting I asked the host if someone was going to take our order and she yelled yes at me and walked away. Ended up leaving without placing an order after our server chatted up other tables and ignored us.
I absolutely love this place! I really dont know why I never stopped here. Definitely a fail on my end. Let me start by saying everything we had was just amazing. The bread was so fresh and oh so good. I ordered the Della scramble that hit the spot I was officially ready to hit Sonoma for some wine tasting. My main reason for the 5-star review is for the staff. Even though they were short-staffed they went above and beyond to make everyone happy. Special shout out to Alethea and the crew for doing an amazing job. We will be back!
Walked in to this place and was not greeted and ignored. Had to walk up to someone for help. The cupcake was overpriced at $7, bland and dry. A Hostess cupcake tastes better and those arent very good either. Stay away from this place.
It was tough to rate this because I did not spend a lot of time here, but...We were largely ignored when we got there, my fiancée and I. Finally stopping someone and asking for assistance we were shown to a place to sit, family style. Then we sat. Sat some more. Then sat and nothing else. Just wanted breakfast. Just wanted to start my day. Couldnt. Not so much as a howdy doo, when we got there. Even after sitting for some minutes we did not receive a drink, place an order or even get told whom our server would be. Too much game in town, son. Maybe youre riding high now, but on to every flower a little rain must fall. The reason for a businesses success is its customer base, you turn your back on them and you have nothing. Eh, what do I know? "Hear me now, believe me later," I suppose.
We set this delightful cafe as a specific destination on our day-trip to the coast yesterday...It was even more charming than expected with a very welcoming staff! We would have liked to have tried every item on the menu, but the BLT, chicken salad, salami soprasetta, and meatloaf sandwiches were scrumptious! Our quest to return home with some freshly baked specialty loaves were initially dashed due to being quite popular and sold out for the day, but fun and friendly manager Tami made sure we left with some alternative breads to enjoy instead. An overall wonderful experience, totally worth the drive, and we look forward to returning soon!
Its busy!! But its good and worth the wait, staff were a little all over the place with an area for bread, one for pastries, one to pick up your drinks, a self serve fridge, one to dine in...they can maybe work on that part.
I really wanted to like Della Fattoria. I’ve been a part of the food industry for a long time so I understand the quality and how they stated as a farm bread bakery.Right now during COVID it’s a chaotic mess. Indoor seating in one room, separate pastry counter, separate bread counter, some other register, outdoor seating, etc. When you walk in it looks like you entered the circus, but there’s no host directing you where to go. With the pandemic going on now for over a year, there is more than enough time for a system.By late morning they were sold out of most the bakery items. Due to how the bakery line is, you have to order at the cashier. Unfortunately, nothing is labeled so you have to constantly go back and forth asking what items are, while you have 20 people behind you eager to pay. Please hire an operations manager who can put some order to the madness. Most people order ahead of time since they don’t want to deal with the inside. My salad I had was good.
They have any system where you use your camera phone to scan their menu once you get to the restaurant and then they bring your food to you. My phone would not work and saw the kind lady helped me place my order. All of the wait staff was so very nice and the food was so very delicious. I can still taste the wonderful panna cotta Citrus desert in my mouth.
Very disappointing visit as weve been here before. The only reason for not being a 1star is the scramble was on point.Highly recommend to help improve your customers experiences:- have a menu outside for us to know whats available (not just a chalk board inside)- a sign that says self seating so we dont have to wander for 5 minutes and then ask someone for help- the ability to order bakery items from the table with your app- better placement of water station. One was behind customers eating and hard to get to without being right on top of them.- limit eating time for customers as we watched groups camping out while others wanted to sit and eat
This is a great cafe with a nice ambience offering a variety of tasty pastries. I went mid-morning on a Saturday and it didn’t take long to get in and it is self-seating. There is both in-door and out-door seating. I was lucky to grab a seat, but I imagine it would be difficult with a busy crowd.I was a bit disappointed that some of the popular pastries were sold out. It would be nice if they replenished often and consistently. I ordered the apple bread and the mushroom/goat cheese pastry. Both had a buttery/flaky crust which was really good. It would have been even better if they warmed them up. There is a caramel type sauce in the apple bread, which was delicious.I also ordered a coffee and had to wait in a separate line for that. The baristas were quite busy so it did take a bit for the coffee, but they were working hard and also very nice. It was worth the wait. I would definitely go back when I’m in the neighborhood to try other options.
The panna cotta was delicious! This place is always busy and honestly, its organized horrendously; the cafe and the restaurant share a space that is too crowded to know where one line ends and the other begins. The older/larger woman working the counter was very brusque and hurriedly rushed through our transaction. Between the rude lady with the mustache and constipated layout, I will not be returning, even though my mom loved the panna cotta #notworththehassle
I love Della Fattoria! It is life! 😍🥰 The decor is lovely and the bread and pastries are displayed beautifully! My favorite is their bread pudding (Amazing!), lemon olive oil cake 🍋(Fantastic with edible pansies gracing the top!and quiche! There make variations on the quiche and each are delicious. I also enjoy their honey lavender latte. 💜They update their Instagram (@dellafatoriawith product updates, etc.Covid-19 Update: Currently open Friday-Sunday each week and a line forms down the block! So amazing! 🥰Pro Tip: There is a little green space beside them that is a nice quiet area for enjoying your haul. Also a Starbucks right there if u need caffeine for your short wait in line. ☕
Della is now doing an amazing breakfast/pastry/cafe style takeout during COVID. We have been going every weekend, each time coming home with something new to try. Theyve got loads of pastries (croissants, galettes, cinnamon twists, etc.and some great salads and sandwiches in their refrigerated section. Of course theyve got their amazing bread too. I highly recommend visiting them, go early if you can!
Had the most delicious Palmier!! #randomactofkindness My husband and I were having a cup of Starbucks in front of the fountain, next to Della Fattoria & a kind man said hello and handed us a bag of Della Palmiers! He said you can’t have a cup of coffee without one. Delicious, crisp and what a treat!! Idk employee? owner? kind citizen?
Lovely Breakfast place in the heart if beautiful Petsluma. Great food, always changing decoration, love it!
This is what a weekend breakfast affair should be!!!We have been wanting to go back to our most nostalgic and romantic spot for an early morning breakfast for a while now, but somehow we were not able to.Finally it happened on this rainy Sunday morning! We drove up early (not too lazy, eh!, but that is how we foodies roll !!and reached there before the crowd got in!They have finally moved the cafe seating back into their main dining area and we enjoyed getting window seating, which helped us watch folks watch us watch them as they walked by and we enjoyed our breakfast! We started off with a cup of coffee, just the way we like it , no milk and with a spoonful of raw cane sugar. We took in the cool, rainy morning through the window while we slowly sipped our elixir. We ordered all our regular items that we have been ordering these past many years and I am proud and happy to confirm, nothing has changed . Impeccable quality of ingredients, extreme expertise of cooking every dish just perfectly and the ever elegant plating and service - all things that we have grown accustomed to and expect - and get every single time!So this what we ordered:1. Creamy Polenta with Seasonal Vegetables - the Polenta thick, creamy and gritty, just the way we like it, with mushrooms, broccolini, carrots potatoes and other seasonal organic veggies freshly picked from their farm and roasted just enough to enhance their flavors. The portions are big enough for two to share as starters -- our way of making the most of our visit ;-. Rating - 5/5 - must say this stellar dish is the one that always makes us return to this place, time to time.2. Eggs Bennie with Caggiano Ham, Della Toast & Housemade Hollandaise. The ham is to die for with the perfect smokiness leading it to have an unbelievable flavor and the housemate hollandaise complements it perfectly without overpowering the other flavors. The poached eggs too were cooked to perfection, not too runny that you can easily pick up a morsel that has all the components that constitute this ah-mazing dish! Rating - 5/53. Biscuits and Gravy - Crunchy della buttermilk biscuit, poached ranch eggs, gravy and caggiano maple pecan sausage. Everything delectable and a picture of perfection in one pan! Rating - 5/5Cant wait to return!
Had the deluxe blt, chocolate croissant and latte. The salad was just lightly dressed, which was nice. Blt deluxe was delicous and I love fresh avocado. Latte and chocolate croissant were a treat after the meal.
A beautiful environment. We were a couple minutes late for breakfast and the waitress and kitchen allowed us to order breakfast after I requested it.Food was great and arrived with perfect timing and gracious service. If you are gonna spend California prices you might as well go to a place that delivers high quality goods and services like Della Fattoria offers. We bought pastries in the bakery afterward. The Peppermint Patty was extraordinary. This place might be a little high end compared to places I usually go, but we will be back for more in the future.
Pretentious restaurant and horrible service. Came here with my husband a couple days ago and we did not enjoy this place at all.We walked into the restaurant from the take out area and chose a table ourselves because the waiters were all busy. It took them almost 10 minutes to notice us and to give us a menu. All waiters that we interacted with were either emotionless or extremely uninterested, which made us feel very unwelcome. The food was fine but forgettable (we ordered the salmon toast and toast three ways). The waiters would also chat among themselves and didn’t even notice when some customers left. The lacklustre service spoiled the experience for us and we would definitely not come back.
Went here as a group of 14 (reserved ahead of timeand was not disappointed! Service was great and the food was very tasty - in particular the onion tart as an appetizer - the crust was so flaky and delicious! Everyone at table (including some from Franceloved their dishes. Quality is evident here!
Sooooo delicious!!! Lattes come in a bowl, decorations are unique and interesting, and the food is amazing. It’s worth the wait even if you go at a busy time. Favorite dish so far is the toast trio (in case you were wondering).
We came for brunch Saturday and were delighted with the decor, food and our server Sandra. Everything was perfect!
Breakfast, lunch, brunch, sweets, bread and now dinner. It’s all amazing! My go to brunch is chicken fried steak or corn beef hash! For lunch the ham and gruyere croque baton and fried chicken Sando is sooo yummy! The food at dinner time is just as yummy. I love the rustic and mismatched decor as well. Very warm and inviting and friendly staff. Can be a bit of wait during busy times and weekends.
Well known for its bread and very popular brunch restaurant. Do not take reservation, therefore, expect some wait. Interesting decor, with bar area, a sofa section for customers just to have drinks and mingle. There are seating areas too. The salad was very refreshing, light tasting dressing with fresh ingredients.
There’s a reason why “fat” is in the name. You’ll fail to care if you get fat because this food and service is amazing.Absolutely amazing. Some of the best breakfast and definitely the most impressive bread. It’s a definite “must” when visiting Petaluma.P.s. there will be a wait since it’s so great.
Very nice and beautiful place with great food, nice hosts and good service. I truly enjoyed the omelet and liked the ambience. We’ll look forward to coming back.
Everything Della Fattoria does from their famous for a reason breads to every dish and pastry available to their amazing espresso drinks is impecable and spot on! My favorites are the Meyer Lemon Rosemary bread, Rancho Gordo beans on toast and salted caramel cappuccino.
Really nice atmosphere. Good weekend brunch place. Service is really slow and that includes the hostess. However, its California & when you are from NY anyhting is slow.
Wonderful atmosphere, lots of wonderful wood accents with great lighting. The food was fantastic, I had the corned beef hash. It was rich and wonderful, with a perfect bit of seasoned sour cream to cut the richness with a bit of acidity. My cappuccino was tasty as well.
Very friendly staff. Bread and pastries all look yummy. We took few items to go. Panna cotta is awesome!
Very good biscuits and gravy, the sausage was great. My wife had the eggs benedict very good. The coffee was surprisingly good from a local roaster I dont remember the name of.We will be back to find that coffee roaster and have another great breakfast. The breads theyre are fantastic.I recommend the olive loaf and the whole wheat European style loaf. The Biscottis there are handmade and Just Simply Delicious
