Delight in El Paso

Was in downtown El Paso and saw this place come up on top when searching for a place to eat. Had an almost 5 star rating so I decided to give it a shot. It’s a seat yourself kind of place and I was seated quickly. Then I waited and waited and waited. Got a glass of water, Maybe 10-15 mins later I finally got a menu. Waited probably 10 more minutes for my order to be taken. I ordered the fish tacos and then quickly changed it to caldo de Res. Took quite some time to get chips and salsa.Waited for my food to arrive but instead the server came by and told me they were out of caldo. By this time I had been waiting for over 35 mins only to get told my food hadn’t even been started. By this time I just wanted to leave, so I did.The server was nice and it was clear that the busy place did not have the adequate staff to handle the demand. I hope I just caught them on an off day.

Great service. Great food. 100% recommend eating here. Reservations are not required as you can seat yourself. Pay in cash or you are charged a 5% fee. Fidel did taste like spaghettios. Other than that, perfect meals.

Food was excellent… Cold tap beer .. clean and stylish… my only complaint is adding 5% credit fee and passing it off as a cash discount …. By paying cash … this really should be mentioned somewhere on the menu or their website

I got the Philly Cheese Steak and my wife got the flautas. Both were very good. I think with every meal you get fries. She didnt oder some and they have her some anyways. The service was great too.

We will definitely be returning here!! Service was amazing! The drink menu is one you want to try EVERY drink on! Don’t even mention the food! Every plate looked and tasted delicious! It’s not just a beautiful place in its ambience but it’s food and drinks are well worth the visit!!

Amazing food and even better service. Our server Jose paid such close attention to detail and ensured we were taken care of. The enchiladas were very flavorful with the right amount of spice. The carnitas were very filling and the portion sizes are big. Wonderful atmosphere!

Its for now, I guess.... The place to be. Ive been there a few times, I focus on locally owned. Some staff clearly believe theyre in the fine dining spectrum. I always visit locally owned at least three times. Just because things may not be so great/good the first time. I will never go back again, food is not up to par.. I dont mind paying good money for good food. Yet last visit, which was a to go order was horrible. Burger, blah.... Rockstar Burger is so much better. And less expensive, and always top notch. Then the chicken soup $12 recommended by the server literally had a spoonful of shredded chicken, a few veggies and the rest broth. Taste? blah.... I called and spoke with Jose the server, he assured me hed let the owner know about the soup. Said shed call me back, I told him "I dont want a refund, and I dont want another soup. Just let your kitchen staff know they should be more aware about what theyre serving." Owner never called back, and its been a few days. Theyre more focused on the people drinking there until 2 in the morning. So, if you want a $5 Budweiser this is the place to be.....

This is a beautiful, charming place downtown El Paso . The food is excellent and the service first class. We had dinner before a ball game, at the Chihuahuas, and we loved it so much, that we returned for drinks after the game.

I just had the greatest andvery delicious chile rellenos and green chicken enchiladas. The place was clean and the service was excellent too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family. I cant wait to go back.

We made reservations for a business lunch/ birthday and everything about this restaurant was excellent. The place was clean and unique in presentation. The staff and our waiter were awesome and worked as a team in bringing our food, and the drink and wine selection was diverse for each one of our liking. The food was fresh and delicious. Then we also had a birthday dessert and that was really good as well. Great atmosphere with really nice people. I would recommend you check it out for yourself for any occasion.

Attention to detail is put into every aspect of Barrio, from the unique cutlery to nice glasses and table decorations. The Mole and other orders are plated in a build-your-own taco style. Overall it was a nice experience.

Amazing drinks, nice atmosphere.

Not sure if we came on an off day but service was terrible. 15 minutes just to get a drink, server was nice enough but extremely slow, & prices are way too high for the area/quality of food. They were also advertising happy hour on a day they didn’t have happy hour. Wouldn’t come here again. Food was good, but would rather go elsewhere for the price.

The food is delicious and fresh! The service is great and the ambiance is nice. Love this place. Hands down, one of the best places to eat and drink downtown. We will be visiting often.

We stopped here tonight after a long drive from Arizona. The staff was incredibly accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the rolled tacos and the burger. The rolled tacos were fresh and full of flavor, and the burger was cooked perfectly. We will be back to try their lunch menu!

What a great find on my travels!

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some mexican classics (mole, Chile rellenos, chicken chicharrónand some twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in El Paso downtown. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in El Paso. Highly recommend!

Absolutely great meal! Service was super. The avocado entree was out this world. I tried the beef tacos with rice and beans were well prepared and the taste is amazing. I will come soon to try the whole menu!

Absolutely amazing service. We just did take out, but food was great. They originally made the incorrect order but offered us a free drink (which was spectacularwhile they made our correct order. Could not have asked for a better experience, highly recommend!

Went here for breakfast and quickly returned the next day to try another meal. It is delicious and unique in their own way. Try the green chile chilequiles or enchiladas. They carry Wellers 12 year at the bar so you know they have taste.

Everything about this restaurant was amazing - atmosphere with the perfect music, food and drinks tasted delicious, and everything was very reasonably priced. Alyssa’s service was spectacular the whole time. I’m visiting El Paso for a couple days and I may just eat here everyday!

Drinks were ah-mazing!! 🤤🤤 Piña Colada was almost dangerous lol, and the Paloma was a great first try. 🍹 Salsa is always hot and spicy with great flavor, burgers were an instant hit with the kiddos (and possibly the parents stealing bites lol), the sauces have an incredible flavor, appetizers were perfect start, everything was delicious from beginning to end.👌🏼You’ll definitely walk out feeling full, happy, and satisfied. 😊 Super cute, chic, uptown vibe with good quality, and exquisite attention to detail with great customer service; which is rare to find these days. Grand opening this week. Went both nights and service was less than adequate. Menu wasnt fully completed and available.

The atmosphere and decor are above par. The flatware and dishes food is served in/on is so unique and beautiful.The prices, for what we had, was not comparable. The chips with the chips and queso was too thick and hard. The beef tacos lacked flavor. The salsa that came with them was delicious and spicy. The chicken sandwich wasnt served on a brioche bun. The chicken was dry and also lacked flavor. I felt it needed the salsa the tacos had or a good aioli mayonnaise. The French fries were delicious and had a lot of flavor. We ordered flavored sweet tea that wasnt sweet. We needed to add sweetener. We also ordered the calabacitas as a side. It was a unique recipe to say the least. The service was good but slow. Well try it again the next we are downtown.

Great downtown hangout. Its hard to find good service now a day but this place exceeded expectations. Everyone was friendly, checked on us often and did it with a smile. The server made great recommendations and we loved the food and drinks she recommended. What I really love about this place is the attention to detail, from the places decor, to plates, to decanter for your water. Everything was great. I would recommend this place 100%. Cant wait to go back and try the breakfast. Oh and, the salsa is amazing!

This restaurant is not just a place to eat, its a whole new wonderful experience! The attention to detail to the ingredients of the dishes, the decor, and the friendly atmosphere culminate in a wonderful experience that begs to be repeated! The enchiladas suizas have an excuisite flavor that will surely tantalize your taste buds! Their chile rellenos appetizer is an exciting twist to an authentic border delicacy. I highly recommend eating here many times! I will surely return for sure!

Had a delicious carnita plate for lunch. Chile Rellenos were also very tasty. Both plates had very generous portions. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice place downtown to eat or have a drink.
