Delhi Durbar - Halal restaurant in Vientiane, Laos
Food was tasty, I had chicken Biryani. Reasonable price.
I give 2 star to the "lunch buffet" which is currently at 70k lak. The little candles under the food trays are not sufficient to keep them warm at all. The steamed rice (NOT basmatihad large clumps, looked very unappetizing. Overall food selection in the buffet is extremely limited. A vegetarian like me can have lentil soup and enjoy garbanzo beans. Limited pakoras and small salad dish run out fast, I did not see the new batch coming. Meat eaters have two additional choices. I would not recommend the buffet here, instead I am sure you can enjoy delicious food from their menu.
Good food, good ambiance, and very friendly owner.
Best Indian cuisine restaurant in vientiane. A blend of delicacy available. The ambience of the restaurant is quite welcoming. Additionally you can also buy Indian grocery and spices fr Delhi durbar.
Nice Indian place in Vientiane...
Good place to purchase Indian dals, masalas, atta, etc. But also a good place to try out the wonderful Indian cuisine buffet.
An Indian Restaurant in town. If you miss Indian dishes this place can offer you variety of food. The place is good and nice
Excellent food and decor. For Lao people unfamiliar with Indian food, the lunch buffet is a good way to get started.Recommended ...
Beautiful place. Service is polite and charming and the food. OMG. Delicious! I usualy order their food online via Chompa but was delighted to come in person and have the food fresh from the kitchen. Worth the trip.
Great food, curry and Naan bread.. The local rice variant was not good. But their apeciality rice dishes are very good. Excellent service.
Been here several times. Always enjoy the food here. Highly recommended!
Should try this restaurant out once or twice or thrice or anytime youd like. Good food!
nice place , all foods are good, and authentic ,must try samosa.. and Indian grocery are also available.I packed some food during my querintine days.. makes my days happy
The tandoori is nice and tasty but the naan bread is just average. Location is great and the interior decoration is pretty good. Price is a bit high but they have a cheaper luch buffer option. They serve halal food but also serve alholic beverages (some of halal food restaurants in Vientiane does not serve alcoholic beverages)
Best place for tandoori chicken! :the restaurant gives off a tasty aroma and their mango lassi has the exact, correct consistency 😋
60k KIP for the daily lunch buffet (not only on weekendsfrom 11:00 to 14:30.Chicken tikka masala and grilled chicken with rice and two kinds of dahl. Coffee, water, and naan is included.
ilove Butter Nan and Chichen Kolhapuri ❤️must visit and must try... ambiance so good and staff very friendly. Highly recommended 👍
Pros: The food is great. The flavor of the sauce they use in their dishes are rich and flavorful. I love their. I loved their tikka masala, korma and naan. The dishes usually come with rice. The place is also clean and the staff are accommodating.Cons: The price range of this resto is expensive but the serving is big (I even had to take my leftover food homeand as mentioned above, the dishes I ordered came with rice. Another thing is that I smelled like an Indian food when I left the place, from my clothes to my hair and even my bag. I had to take a bath after eating here.
The food is awsome nice place to have good Indian food
Compared to other a bit costly but food taste and staff behavior is good. Just try if u want to taste indian food especially. 👍
A little Indian restaurant. I just had a spinach soup, garlic and veggie naan and a mango lassi. I preferred the soup to be a little creamier but overall the food was good. They have a wide selection of Indian cuisine. I might come back and taste the other dishes.
Great place. Keeps improving all the time. Spices & oil in food should be more consistent & must be kept at the level desired by the customer.
Food was acceptable and not so cheap. The 3 stars are for the friendly owners and staff
A bit costlier ,,salad should be complimentary at such high prices
We heard a lot of good reviews on google about this place that it serves the best Indian food in Vientiane but after trying their food, i found that’s not true.No doubt they have a nice seating with decent ambience, but when it comes to food taste, it’s not very delicious. We order chicken and paneer in gravy but it’s no where near authentic north indian food. Trust me, your chef needs a training. Also, they served us free rice and it came with very poor quality aka cheapest quality.Breads are also not very good. You have a nice restaurant but you really need to serve good food to represent “Delhi” and sustain longer.
Very good authentic Indian food. Rich flavours with lots of veg options. Good service and reasonable prices. Recommended.
Excellent Indian Food. It was a great surprise for us to find authentic Indian food here in Vientiane Laos. It was a regular hangout for a week and we enjoyed all dishes which we tried from the menu. Kudos to the restraunt owner and wish him the very best ..
Had dinner yesterday. We had nan, lacha parantha, kadhahi paneer, dal makhani. Food was good and service was great. Prices were reasonable to high. We paid 100,000 kip for dinner but did not get a printed invoice as the printer was not working. The owner was not present in the hotel premises.
The BEST Indian food i have ever had. Vegetable Simosa was great. Chicken Tikka was fresh chicken breast. We tried a potato curry and again, awesome, served with the rice and mild spices. The Garlic Nanna was so fresh too, i cant even describe how good that tasted....We could barely move after eating. I wanted to re order everything again!Who cares about the service or restaurant itself when the food is this good!!! Either way, it was fast, clean and delicious.I wish we had a chance to come again.
Fantastic! I ordered a mixed veg curry and it was delicious. It had a wide variety of vegetables and came with rice. The garlic nan was also very tasty. All for a good price; very happy I stopped in for dinner.
Nice Decor, Good Location thaw not in City Centre. Most importantly is for the Indian food choice in Vientiane, only 1 best place is “Delhi Durbar”However they need to improve lot on staff training.. the common issue for Laos
Very nice food and helpful staff who spoke English well. The menu includes mainly Indian dishes with an indication of those that are spicy hot. It has a tasteful formal Indian atmosphere inside that is quiet and air conditioned. It has informal seating outside. They accept credit cards.
The food is always delicious. The best place in Vientiane. Nice and quiet atmosphere, very kind staff and the owner always around taking care of the customers. Air conditioning indoors and also have an outdoor terrace.
I noticed I didnt give a clear indication of the Delhi Durbar.I can truthfully say the food and the welcome you get and the attention to make sure you enjoy your meal is amazing.Well done. If your in Vientiane its a place that is perfect food and the service is great.
Finding ourselves in Vientiane in a hotel situated just outside the centre and needing a not too distant place for dinner, we trawled the usual restaurant review websites for a "safe" place to eat hoping to avoid a dose of travellers tummy and by a lengthy process of elimination settled on Delhi Durbar. A 5 minute tuk tuk journey later, having given the driver turn by turn directions taken from Google Maps, we arrived at the restaurant. First impressions from the outside were good and we entered the spacious, well maintained restaurant to be greeted by the owner who showed us to our table. At the time of our arrival we were the only customers, but two further sets of diners arrived shortly afterwards. It was New Years eve. The menu contained an extensive selection of instantly recognisable Indian favourites such as might be found in any traditional Indian restaurant in the UK. I chose a vegetarian dish - vegetarian jalfrezi - and my partner had lamb rogan josh. Rice was complimentary and we had 4 poppadoms as a starter. My jalfrezi was rich and tasty, with a good selection of vegetables. My partners rogan josh was also delicious, with a rich, tasty sauce and good quality meat. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were satisfyingly full by the time we had finished. I can happily recommend the Delhi Durbar to any curry lovers passing through Vientiane, looking for a good Indian meal served by the very amenable and convivial proprietor himself in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. I am pleased to report as well that, as we later discovered, our delicate European digestive systems were not in the least offended by the experience!
Good place, decent food, tastes well. By far the closest to the Indian food taste that I have had in Vientiane. I ordered a dal makhani and tandoori roti to be on a safe side as I was having Indian food for the first time in Laos. Dal makhani comes with a plate of rice which was not mentioned by the staff while we placed the order. Tandoori roti was cooked well. It felt over priced for the quantity of dal that was served. Ambience was good also the staff was courteous.Overall a good experience.
Ordered from my delivery and my garlic naan didn’t make it with my food. The owner was very lovely and sorted me out and sent it to me free of charge with extra yogurt cucumber sauce. Food was very yummy, happy customer :)
I am not from India but Indian food has always been my favourite. The stuff in the restaurant was extremely nice and food was delicious. Recommend.
My sons love Indian food and enjoyed here very much. we had Laal Mars, Gosht Saagwala which the indi manager recommended. Jackpot!
Great! Absolutely fantastic. Good price for the buffet (we have been twice!), nice people, good service, clean! Food is delicious, fresh and there are many options. Nan a bit small but thats not an issue.
I eaten in Penang Malaysia so manny times Indien street food for 80thb Tandoori chicken with naan bread and the mintsouce .awesome delicious! !!!Here i tryout the Tandoori plate a mix with chicken (ok-dry)mixed Lamp (only dry with no taste)fish (ok if you put some lemon)and 3 big Prawns (horrible!!!stink. Smell so bad.die already 3 days ago!!!mintsouce not so good, not fresh!!!service really nice!!!!!!!!!!good English and the owner (nice guy )!!!!nice person how change the prawns to small frosen tiny ones!!!then i have naan bread with cheese (no crunch )and oily! I hope your chef had a bad day😘so i will come back and try the rest of the menu what looks really good!i still want you give 5 stars so please talk to the chef to get his feelings back to cook outstanding food!i know he can do🤗good luck see you soon.Best Regards :The Skinhead German Chef
Extremely comfortable seating and ambiance. Server was friendly and even fluent in English! The food was reasonably priced and had a good selection. Its a little appropriated, but overall delicious. Would love to come back for the buffet!
I dont eat indian food as often as i would like. I saw this over the rd from hotel and made a BLine straight for it.Great staff.I had a palak paneer. Very good. Naan bread was good. Nice atmosphere and good all round. I am sure you can eat cheaper elsewhere in Vientiane. But not Indian food. So if you are adter a decent curry then worth a visit.
Generous portions of great food. The chicken samosas were amazing. Ditto for the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The staff were attentive and friendly and even took our 8 month old daughter when she started crying, just as the main courses arrived. She was smiling and laughing in no time. Brilliant service. Not just the best Indian Restaurant in Vientiane but the best restaurant we have been to in Vientiane. A real treat. Will definitely be going back next time Im in town.
New cook at Delhi Durbar with Experienced Management taking over should make a difference. The food quality is little better than before but they need to check the quantity as well..its too less for the high price set.
Great Food and service! Not only the traditional North Indian taste but the portions are also perfect. Love how the staff and even the owners care about your experience. Highly Recommended!
An elegant restaurant with an abundance of well priced and delicious food options. Worth a visit.
Best authentic north Indian food in Vientiane. The lunch buffet is super value more money. I eat there so often I actually have their loyalty card
Nice restaurant. More expensive than most Indian restaurants but you certainly enjoy a much nicer atmosphere and dining experience with the cost, even if the portions arent any larger.
When you are around for visa run or any other reason. Go eat here in this real restaurant. Ate here yesterday and today again. Most Indian places are ok or disappointing compared to this one (specially in Lao / Thailand). Nothing around there anyway, happy to pay 4 times more from cheap MSG food.
