Delhi Darbar - Indian restaurant in Turku, Finland
Food was exellent but weitress maybe tired.
It was OK, They serve Halal chicken dishes along with veg thalis
I have eaten chicken here at my dinner on 29.6.2022.we have sited basement which was a bit hot 🥵 which is due to the mid summer wave. Otherwise everything was good.
Nice place to have Indian food
Taste was ok, they served us Nan that were only heated for a while to fake it as freshly prepared one but it was old kept Nan.... You may feel the same story with rice.
We went today and they served cold naan bread which I return first time and then when I ordered second time they gave same naan bread back.
Ive visited this place when it opened some 15 years ago and back then it was the best Indian food anywhere.I visited this place again today and its a shadow of its past. Poor service, tough meat, bland sauce. Im genuinely sad that this place has lost the quality. We asked about it and apparently the original owner sold this place. And it shows.
The best Indian restaurant in Turku. It was my go to place to have Indian dinner when I was living in turku. I have tried several other restaurants in turku as well but Delhi Darbar was clearly the winner. The food were great and the hospitality was excellent. Definitely try the rogan josh!
Food 4 ⭐️ and service 2 ⭐️ Therefore they get 3The food was tasty, the rice was not hot, very small salad already dressed with some sweet sauce, too little dhal, and the bread naan was bland. We arrived and I eye-crossed two workers but no one great me. I ask where we could sit, the only nice table at the window had a reserved label and the waitress told us to sit on a small table just by the door. So every time someone opened the door I was getting very cold wind on my back. She came once to see if she could get the order but we weren’t ready, so very annoyed she said that that kitchen will close at 9:30pm… it was 8:26!!Second time she came we still weren’t ready as the menu is pretty big so she was very annoyed. We ordered and around 9 we were done eating. At 9:00 a small group of people enter the restaurant and the first thing the waitress told them was: we close the kitchen in 10mins!!! Now you close at 9:10??Of course no one ever set on the table that was reserved! And the waitress also start sweeping the floor while we were eating! I learned when I was 7 to never sweep the floor while someone is eating as you’re moving so much dust in the air.Anyway, nice food, but very poor service.
We went on April 29 for dinner, there were two women working. The waiters were in a hurry to close. All the time asking us what we wanted for dinner, they brought us everything very quickly and gave us the bill. They didnt make us feel comfortable. They kicked us out of the restaurant twenty minutes before closing time. By the way, the time on the internet is not correct. They close earlier than it appears on the web. We wont be back.
Very authentic Indian food in Turku ! Despite being well occupied, they have had fast service !
It’s ok. But it’s not ok to charge 18e for a mediocre meal. I had some spicy chicken and spicy beef, but neither was spicy in any measure. Chicken was good, crispy and juicy at the same time. Rice was perfect. Naan bread was good, little burnt, but it all good. For 18e, it’s just not nowhere good enough considering competition nearby.
Again one of the best Indian food in the Europe. Just loved the food 😋😋😋. Authentic Indian taste. Price is bit on a higher side compared to Germany but definitely the best. And the thing I like the most was, with a curry they give both naan and rice which is not the case in other Indian restaurants. We had food mixed Thali ( two non veg sabji and one veg sabji, naan, rice, raita, salad and mango lassiand vegetables chili curry (this included both naan and curry). Quality was very good for one person. Highly recommend!!Friendly people.Only one thing what I didnt like is when they cleaned the table, they just dusted it. Everything fell on the chair which they didnt think about or bother to clean. 😑😑
This place used to be the best indian restaurant in town, but unfortunately the service and food quality have gone down during covid. The prices have also gone up.I ordered a take away and when I went to pick it up only half of the order was in the bag. I also didnt get any raita yoghurt sauce.I got home and started eating, and the food was just bland. It used to be full of flavor, but now it just feels like they dont care anymore. I cant recommend this place anymore.
I have been eating in this restaurant for half a decade now and considered this to be the best Indian place in town, but unfortunately the quality of both the flavor and the customer service dropped drastically. The food which used to be very flavorful and rich is now bland and nothing special, the prices gradually increased but the portion size shrunk (on take-away at least). The quality of the customer service also plummeted with apathetic and uninterested service as well as mistakes and carelessness with the orders.I dont know what influenced this places quality to decrease so much and its very much a shame because eating here used to be a prime experience.
One of the best Indian restaurant I have been to. Had my best biranyi there. Would love to eat there again in the future.
I doubt if this place is owned by Indian. Pathetic food. All gravies taste the same and naan on 2 different occasions is probably frozen heated in an oven. The paneer had some weird hardness and texture to it as if was heated several times during the day and severed. Even the salad was like yesterday’s.
The food is good but there is some indifference in the attitude of some of the waitress when they serve immigrants. The quantity has also reduced in a very progressive manner. Also the salad is no more self serve and is given in very small quantity
Really nice 👌,the staffs are very nice and smiling 😊..I ever see this kind off😊😊..
Good options for vegans, well informed servers, that spoke better English than Finnish. The food was s little bland and not spicy at all for my non Finnish taste buds. The mango lassie was thick and delicious.
Ordered food after a long hiatus and we were pleasantly surprised by the improvement in quality and taste of the food. Phenomenal improvement over this past 1 year. KeepUp the good work Delhi Darbar, you have a name to live up to.
Thought of getting Indian taste , ordered for mix veg thali , lamb tasted really good, dal and raita taste was so good, butChicken tikka masala was so sweet, taste was horrible..Rice needs to be cooked little moreOverall it was ok type experience
The food was great, service was friendly. We had garlic tandor chicken, lamb masala, a chicken salad, and butter tomato chicken. Lamb was great, it can be very hit or miss, but darbars lamb was very juicy and tasty. 100% recommended. Their (1/3 hotnessmasala sauce is somewhat spicy though, if you dislike spicy food, dont order anything with a spice rating on it. However if you like a bit of heat, 1/3 foods are very good.
Extremely long menu with lots of vegetarian, gluten-free and good old regular meals. Mango lamb was delish. Also very good house beer to go along with them.
I dont know where to start, all the meanings of the word appalling summed up in this placeThe food was abysmal to say the least. We tried 6 different curries all were atrocious, an absolute insult to Indian food. The rice was old and looked like it was defrosted and then microwaved, never would a professional chef do such a lousy work. An absolute disgrace to the restaurant industry. On top of it all, this pathetic food is extremely overpriced, a single tiny curry dish for 21 euros!!!Lastly, the staff werent good even for a street food restaurant not a high end placeI would only go again if I they hold me hostage in there
Good food but substandard time & order management. I ordered food via Internet, which was an easy system to use. I ordered the items and got a notification that my delivery will be ready in 60 min. I called to the restaurant one time just to check again if the time had changed and they still said it would be ready in 60 min. I went there to pick up my food at the time advised, and was met by a pack of people standing in line all the way to the front door! As you know this restaurant is a very small, so it was packed with people eating as well as people standing in line. At one point I think there were more people standing in line waiting for their pick-ups than people dining at the tables. Anyway, long story short I waited abt 45 min to get my order, trying to find myself a corner where I would not be breathing down at someone elses neck. Food was really good, I have no complaints about that. But in a time where we are living in a pandemic and the restaurant is already so small, it is highly unprofessional and irresponsible for the management to take so many orders at one time they cannot handle the queue. And furthermore, at the restaurant there was no control whatsoever abt people being able to stand on a distance from each other waiting for their food. If you have an online service and choose to also prepare takeaway orders, you should be able to handle the orders and at least give a realistic waiting time so noone shows up there just to wait 45-60 min. Otherwise would not care too much, these things happen, but again - we are living in a pandemic so this was completely inadequate and poor organization. Although the food was good, it was overshadowed by the bad experience and long waiting time.
Excellent Indian place. One of the best lunches in town
Vindaloo was not even spicy, and did not have any vegetables. The salad portion was really small and we had to share it between the two of us. Also very overpriced... would much rather eat at an Asian buffet.
It was our first time that my family and I went in this restaurant for dinner which we were catered by Rose. "Rose was very friendly to us and also charming, such a good spirited person and her personality was amazing." back to the main content lol. "The meal" it was delectable that it exceed our expectations. My family and I would recommend this restaurant. Thumbs up.
Excellent Bindi masala and friendly staff 🙂
Im a horribly picky eater so I was afraid Id have trouble with the food, but after the first bite I knew I had nothing to worry about! The naan was wonderful - it had a nice mouth feel and chewiness to it and its saltiness complemented the sweet tikka masala perfectly! The chicken was light and juicy, very tender.I cant wait to order from them again, and next time Ill know to get an extra naan - it was too good, I accidentally "tasted" away half of it before digging into the masala. :D
Traditional Indian Restaurant with exquisite North Indian Delecaies.Taste and Ambience is great.Had been here for lunch, we they have a set Veg and Non-veg Lunch of the day and open Ala-Cart menu where you can order from.
Good Indian restaurant. The choices in the menu were more than enough and the portions were good. The taste of the food was also good. Not an exceptional taste or experience but I would definitely go there again.
The space to sit in or move in to get to the salad table feels rather cramped, tables are somewhat close together and moving through felt a tad awkward for me at least. But the food is well worth it, this is a good place to get something good for a reasonable price.
Delicious food, spicy and authentic. I love their rice, and the atmosphere is very cozy and nice. Perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. The staff is also nice and very professional. Highly recommend this place!
Great place! The food was very tasty and looking well a fresh, quick and ve4y friendly service by nice and smiling staff. The food was not very spicy, though some pleasant spiceness kicks-in even for dishes without the "hot hepper" sign. The prices are good, though not extremely low, but great value for the money. The country of origin for products and ingredients is conveniently shown at the entrance, lots of Suomi origin!
Good service, friendly staff, but food was average to bad. Tomato soup was very sugary, plate with 3 different dishes and sauces were all very plain, Goa chicken was ok, but a bit too hard. Rice tasteless and naan bread too chewy.
Portions are big and the food is good. Enough variety to choose from. Opposite to what usually happens, the quality has gone up over the ten years Ive visited.Spicy portions could be a bit hotter, otherwise no complaints.
Food is not at all Indian, looks like non-Indian people running this restaurant and defaming Indian food. Not at all happy with the food and was not up to the taste of Indian food. The worst Indian food I had ever in whole EU where ever I have travelled. Waitress were so rude, that they refused to pack left over food and said will give you the box, pack yourself. Which was the disgusting answer I have ever heard.
Amazing Inidan food for reasonable pricesWe went there as non-Finnish tourists and expected high prices as Finland is usual rather expensive. Delhi Darbar offered a nice lunch menu including a salad buffet, main course (delicious and big portionand coffee/tea for around 11 to 15€The mango lassi is highly recommended!
A warm and pleasant welcome, waiters listening. We had a great time and the food was very good. Very large choice of products, homemade. We also had the opportunity to pack what we had not eaten. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Less space with more chairs.. Have to got up twice in half an hour during lunch so that people can go and come to their seats ...Food is Ok..
You can try the Indian cuisine here. Well cooked food at reasonable price.
Best Indian in Turku. The place is always busy. Call for takeout because it always takes a long time. Orders are rarely ready when you show up to pick them up but you normally don’t have to wait longer than five minutes. Food tastes amazing, perfectly seasoned, rich sauces. Their naan breads are so good. I just wish the dishes didn’t come in TV dinner type takeaway containers to make sharing easier.
First time I tried Indian food and I liked it very much! This place has soo many different and delicious sounding options to choose from. If youre not a fan of spicy food no need to worry - they have milder options as well. Definitely recommended
The food is delicious and the personnel very polite. I asked to the waitress a suggestion and I was really satisfied in the end. The menu is wide and final price is fear.
Best Indian restaurant in Turku. This place has kept its high standards up for years and I have never been dissatisfied with the quality of their food. Reasonably priced too.
Very authentic and by far the best Indian food there is in Finland!Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Masala are my favorite and OH BOY they can make it deliciously spicy if you ask them!
Great food, friendly service and quite "authentic" Indian feel. However, it is much more tight packed than restaurants usually are in Finland - adds to the atmosphere, I guess.
Being used to UK Indian restaurants I would this is a great little place would recommend getting a reservation as can be busy but the staff stays focussed and friendly.Portions are huge but most people finished their orders.Pricing in line with the country on the high side about €20 each with one beer
