Came here Saturday night prior to the Ballet Fast terrific service by our lovely waitress Food was delicious.Hadnt been here before but will definitely be back.

Lovely, attentive staff. Went on a Monday night so unfortunately didnt get the atmosphere but you could tell it had loads to offer!

Husband and I come here a lot. Highly recommend the pulled pork nachos, steak burrito and hot wings, and wash them down with a margarita or two or three, or ten!

Drinks and food very good value for money, but service was quite slow--admittedly we were a large group on a busy Saturday night, but waited over 1.5 hours for mains, which were not all correct. Overall a fine experience, but some room for improvement.

Went back to Del Sol after about a year and It’s much better! Probably the most authentic Mexican in Dunedin much better than amigos

Ive been here three times and the service was bad every time. We werent given water any of the times so we had to ask for it, drinks took about 40 minutes to arrive, food took just over an hour to arrive and was okay but overpriced. The last time I went, my partner ordered a bottle of Jaritos but they didnt bother taking the top off with a bottle opener, so we had to call the waitress back over. She took it over to the bar to opened it but then left it sitting on the counter while she served a line of people at the till so we just went over and grabbed it ourselves. If the service was just bad once, Id let it slide and try again another night, but this seems to be the standard level of service so I definitely wont be back.

Food and drinks were great. (Fantastic Chimichanga). Service was a little unattentive and slow.

This restaurant doesn’t welcome us to dunners brah. Mud food tasted like carpet w dirt. Maccas is better ya dogs. 1 star for u bots

The staff were rude when we arrived and also didn’t serve us when we were sober. Definitely not coming back here again. Was very disappointed as we came to celebrate our two friend’s birthdays.

Poor service don’t ever recommend booking a reservation. Were denied drinks when we were sober because they thought we were intoxicated because we were enjoying our friends birthday. Food was absolutely appalling, even got served uncooked chicken

Pretty good. The vegetarian options were good. The usual Mexican menu. The winner was the decor. You can imagine this place going off once covid is gone.Definetly recommend having a meal here.

Great food. I love the chicken with chipole dip for starter, very cripsy and well seasoned. Big portion for mains so it might be better getting 2 starters + 1 main to share between 2 people. Best food I had in Dunedin so far 👌

Dunedin doesnt have many Mexican cuisine options. This place definitely fills in the gab. Great decor and atmosphere.Edited from 4 to 2 out 5 stars. Left frustrated this evening and probably wont come back after this time!

Excellent food and service. Highly recommended to all. Staff were patient when a vaccine certification issue was sorted.

Great food lovely service there was a wee bit of confusion regarding drinks as we were given another tables drinks which made paying the bill a little awkward, and that hit sauce... the reaper sauce.. nice and hot 🔥

One of the best Mexican restaurant in the town. After a very long time had such a good Mexican food. Chef at backend specially came to us ask if liked the food or not. Such a friendly staff.. definitely gona come next time if we are around Dunedin.. 5 stars

Great stuff. Do not have the ribs unless you are very hungry! Great decor too - many original features from whatever type of shop it was when new. Plenty of kid friendly stuff going on as well

My son took me there for mothers Day dinner....awesome! Loved the chimichangas.....the pitcher of pineapple margarita was a bit of a let down. Will definitely go there again when Im in Dunedin 🤓😁😋

My friend and I had dinner here last week and was very happy with the service from your waitress/bar member Swati. She was efficient with our ordering and knew the menu well which was great when giving us advice on what we would like most. Swati really seemed to pay attention to us and treated us as individuals and not just no name customers. Thank you so much Swati, we will definitely be dining here again. 😊

Food was of good quality. Had a main of a vegetarian burrito which was of decent portion size. Not many options within the mains though. Mocktails were also cheap and delicous.Service was the only disappointing part. Had a pushy lady at first who didnt give us anytime at all to think about our options and when we told her to come back later, she had an attitude. Other members were better though.Decoration and deserts were fabulous. Would highly recommend the waffles as for $12 they were delicious and fed two of us.Overall a good time.

The meal was very nice, we got steak fajitas, totally worth it. Unfortunately the service wasnt the greatest, but I definitely would go again.

Food took forever to arrive, but I was very surprised when they delivered the food with an apology for the wait. No restaurant in NZ has ever apolgised for the wait. 5 stars for owning your mistake. Good food too!

I come to Del Sol nearly every Tuesday and I have to say these are the best tacos in Dunedin. Last time I went I also had the nachos and I have to say DAMN both the taste and the quantity was fantastic. The margarita jugs are seriously top quality! I would highly recommend this place! Also the staff have always been so welcoming and I never felt like I was being pushed out the door, which I have at other places. Top notch place, staff, food and drink!

Waited 2 hours for corn chips and guacWaited about 40 minutes for a drinkThe salsa was gross.Blonde waitress was rude when I specifically asked for a frozen drink she bought me one that was not frozen then when I said to her it was wrong she said thats what I ordered then walked away. She was also rude to other people on the table. My partner went up to cancel his order after 2 hours of waiting. just his order. The kitchen people took that as canceling all 6 orders that people were still waiting to have.Terrible service. Terrible waitresses (honestly if your that unhappy towards customers you should look for a different jobfood was average. Most our table was having trouble breathing cause of the smoke from the kitchen.Really bad will never recommend this place to anyone.

Usually only one to post a review when I love the place, not to be negative! However tonight was disapointing...Meals were average at best, bland veg nachos lacking flavour and dry, tough ribs.Had a waitress came and checked on how our meals were we would of complained sooner - instead we left most our food on the plate and told them at the counter upon leaving ...only to have a bad attitude given back to us! (Blonde girl)Wont be going back and supporting this business due to attitude and average meals.

Food was extremely delightful, just the right amount of hot spicyness. Waiters could have been more attentive, but overall a pleasant dining experience and awesome meal.

Felt like we were in a school gymnasium, couldnt hear each other, and had to yell at our own table. Didnt feel welcome, we were put in the kids section to eat. Low stools, not enough glassware and no where to put our coats.Service was rushed and we felt like we were being churned through, and unfortunately we couldnt understand the waitresses.Food was bland, stale and nothing like we would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Wont be recommending.

The food was average and the place needed a good clean. The service was excellent however, especially from the head waiter. There was not enough staff on so she was doing the bulk of the work and was run off her feet. This lack of staff meant that our food took a long time to arrive, about 50 mins. We were glad to have a margarita jug to share while we waited. The margarita jug was great.I had the vegan fajitas which were ok. The beans and rice were bad and the sauces were out of a jar. The vegetables however were nice as they seemed fresh.

Atmosphere was nice. Good service. Clean and well set out premises. Food was cooked well and interesting Mexican flavours.Salad couldve had a dressing but otherwise meal worked well. Great with a Monteiths Black Beer (age appropriate of course). Would go back again.

Really enjoyed dinner with friends! Both omnivore and herbivore friendly! Dining out with one vegetarian, one vegan and one omnivore, and it was an easy dining experience. Vegan and gluten free options are clearly labelled. The service was great too. A table wasnt ready when we arrived however the staff seated us very shortly after arriving. Will definitely visit again and try some cocktails or taco Tuesday!

We enjoyed yet another meal here. Meals were super quick in coming out. We shared an entree and our main meals were on the table within 3-4 minutes of recieving the entree. Despite this, the food was great and we enjoyed our meal.The decor was bright vibrant. Loved the seating and overall look of the restaurant. The food was good not the best. The ribs were good different from the usual bbq flavour. Had ordered a jug of sangria which was too tangy

Great food. A lovely atmosphere. Good quiet seating by the bar for two on a Saturday night. Amazing friendly waitress whom was very helpful with menu and explaining types of food. Will be taking my family there for a meal. Highly recommended 👍🏼

Great GF options. I didn’t think much of the vegan burrito (could add more filling than just rice and undercooked potato), and the patatas bravas were OK. The restaurant is huge but there weren’t many people there the night we went, which made it feel a bit weird and airy. The staff were on their phones, which is never appealing.

Nice place, lots of menu options, almost over attentive staff. Clearly have been told to up-sell as we got offered entrees at least 4 times. Food was tasty and plentiful. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.
