Deja Brew - Coffee & Pastry - Cafe in Palikir, Micronesia
The staff here is fantastic! I saw them work with some customers that were being a little ridiculous about their order. The staff handled them with grace and professionalism. I highly recommend going here if you are in the area, and the staff here deserves a bonus and a raise!
After ordering a drink I didn’t end up enjoying, I asked if I could get something else instead and they said they’d have to charge me for it. I was told the drink I got was popular and really good but wouldn’t suggest it to anyone. 😷 (pumpkin brûlée latteit tastes like a candle.I’ve been here once before and enjoyed my coffee, but disappointed that they don’t take care of their customers enough to make sure they’re satisfied. If you spend over $6 on a drink, I think you should enjoy it.I’ve worked at 2 different coffee shops and at both, if the customer wasn’t satisfied with their order, you make sure they leave happy. Needless to say, I won’t be coming here again unless it’s convenient or suggesting this place to anyone in the future!
The best little coffee shop in Raleigh. All the baristas are incredibly nice. The drinks are delicious. Ive been coming here for over a decade for a reason.
What would I do without Deja Brew?I feel lucky that Deja Brew is my home coffee shop. Regardless of the method I am ordering, either in drive through or sitting down, I can always expect a quality experience. All of their food is freshly made, as in I can watch them cut the avocado, cook the egg, and assemble the whole meal. And it’s not just fresh as in “fresh out of this fridge” fresh, it is fresh as in “this is the perfect softness avocado”, as in “perfectly cooked egg” and “evenly toasted bread” fresh.Every staff member is not only efficient, but kind and sincere to boot. As a daily coffee experience, having a friendly space to rely on makes my day. The staff creates that space.Best of all, the prices, for what you are getting, simply cannot be beat. Deja Brew offers what less and less places offer, a comfortable, enjoyable, beautiful space to just exist. For the same price as a premade, pre-heated meal I can get at loud national chain competitors, I am receiving excellent and local quality with a hefty taste of community.Simply put, Deja Brew is incomparable in what it provides my community: a sense of home.
Deja brew has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had, and they have a great environment! The employees are very kind and professional, and were fast about taking care of me! Definitely recommend if you’re in the area :)
BEWARE! Deja Brew used to have a quality about them that was beyond extraordinary but WOW change has really occurred. Every holiday, I enjoy the iced pumpkin spice mocha drink and the past 2 times it was AWFUL. I believe that ingredients have changed and the prices are ridiculous for the taste and terrible customer service. While my friend and I were ringing up our order, a young lady with braided ponytails, was speaking to another coworker as if we were not there about how she didnt get much sleep last night and etc. This is not typical encounters so I was okay with the continual conversation engagement with them.Next, I went to drink my 7.36 medium iced pumpkin drink and NOOOOOO pumpkin taste or anything. The taste left me gagging. I took it back in after trying it again, still not good. Added 2 packs of SPLENDA..... not good so..... I did the next reasonable thing- take it back. I spoke in a gentle tone of voice to a guy who asked what do I want him to do to it????!!!???????!!!!!!! He went to the young lady with the braids and frown and she asked "Like what is wrong with it?" I said it is just not too good. She said "Well, we cant make you another one so I can put more pumpkin in it or something.... what do you want? " I said sure but is there a difference in the ingredients because I come here every year for this experience. May I speak with the manager or owner" She said..... "Well he wont be here until tomorrow and that is all I can say about that but I wont give you another drink but will add pumpkin" I said okay. She took her hands, NO GLOVES OR DIFFERENT CUP, put it under the flavor and sqirted some in my drink, shook it up, hitting it on her top to shake it and handed it to me. Then "Better" then turned around. The 2 of the other workers smiled, bumped their arms in celebration and she went back to her boyfriend or guy friend whom she told me she paid for their drink when I said politely she can ring it up. They walked past with a smirk on their faces once I decided to leave. Why should I pay for another disgusting drink and why is it, I cant get access to a manager? I have never quite had this experience before here EVER.The quality of this lovely coffee shop is going downhill VERY fast and it is sad. Possibly raise the standards and go above and beyond the typical place. Rather go to a chain then be treated this way.Coffee, wasted in the garbage. This was not clean, with the spread of germs..... I do not feel welcomed or safe here any longer. Eat or drink here at your own risk of not just mental health but also physical health. Was treated like a peasant which leaves one wondering why...? Race? Day? Not sure but this was humiliating and embarrassing. The best thing here is the desserts, sparkling water. My friend also reports that the coffee was burned. It was empty..... where are the customers? I am guessing they are where the customer service is........ no where to be found.
Deja Brew used to be one of my regular coffee spots. This last year, however, I continue to be disappointed each visit. Their staff changed and the care and concern in their drinks left with them. My last straw was today when I mis-spoke and accidently said "medium" when I wanted a large, which the person at the window was super cool about it and told the girl making the drinks...who then huffed and made an off-hand comment about her annoyance with me that I unfortunately overheard. To rub salt in the wound, she basically shoved the drinks into my hand and slammed the drive-thru door shut as I was in the middle of thanking her for understanding my mistake.I guess the real mistake was continuing to come here. Unfortunately, I think today will be the retirement of my patronage to DB. There are other coffee places that are more welcoming than this one has been this previous 12 months and Id much rather take my business there.
The place has great potential. Staff was more focused on their own conversations than the business. Coffee was good. Patrons there were working and studying. Great outdoor patio area. Won’t be returning, but now I know.
Stopped in for coffee, it was great! Quick friendly service and delicious coffee. This place is better than starbucks in my opinion.
I went through the drive thru which was fast and ordered the Honey Cream Cold Brew which was delicious. The staff member was kind.
one of my favorite coffee spots, the drive thru is just as pleasent as dining in!
I havent tried any of their food, but they have what I would consider to be some of the best coffee in town! The workers there are also really nice and helpful!
Why is pricing changing every other day ?I literally get the same iced coffee large every where I go and every day I pay something different in price at all coffee shops every day 😫😩.. its seems so shady just left the same review for Starbucks as well...
The coffee at this spot was good. Fairly easy to park at. The sandwich was missing ingredients - supply chain issues. A lot of the menu was spotty because of this. Id check out a different spot if you want anything other than coffee. Staff was friendly and quick to bring out the drink
Friendliness of the staff: A+Quality and taste of the drinks: A+Cleanliness and Comfort: A+Atmosphere: A+Pricing: FDeja Brew has continued to raise prices, which is fine. Supply and demand, right? However, each time they do, their menus do not reflect the price change. I order the same drink nearly every day, and it seems that every few months I am getting a sticker shock when I am rung up. I check the menu board and the prices are still reflecting what they were before. If you are going to raise prices, you MUST also take the time and cost to update your signage. Period. Frankly, if it werent for the great staff there, I would have switched to Starbucks or even Dunkin a while ago.
My friend, who is never really a fan of chai, loved their chai. I had gotten one for myself as I love chai and it was one of the best chai lattes Ive had. Extremely comfortable area and seatings. Very cozy and just a great place overall
Tried Deja Brew for the first time last Sunday. It was GOOD. They ran out of avocado that was a bummer but the staff are all very nice and friendly which made it a nice experience. Overall it was great and I will go back again definitely.
My new favorite go to quick coffee shop, the drive thru is so quick, friendly and efficient!
Deja brew is one of my favorite coffee shops in the triangle. The drive thru is a nice, fast option to have when picking up coffee on your way to work, and the staff is always pleasant. I love checking out the local artists they promote while I wait on my order!
I love to support local spots, but I was totally disappointed today. I bought 2 large coffees and when handed the coffees the lid popped off and spilled in the car. I asked for a napkin and said the lid wasn’t on good and it spilled. Didn’t think anything of it and went home. Got home with my coffee and picked it up and the lid came completely off and spilled hot coffee all over my leg (picture). Once again, I thought man what’s with the lids and called over to just give feedback. The thing that disappointed me was when the barista said “sorry, there’s something wrong with the large lids and we can’t figure it out”. So they’re knowingly using something that is faulty while serving VERY hot coffee (and I LOVE hot coffee-just not all over my lap). And on top of that, not even a “hey, come back and let me at least fill your cup back up” 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve always wanted to try the coffee here. Today was the day! Cute shop. They have a full menu, including bakery and sandwich options. The staff were very friendly. I ordered an iced mocha to see how it compared to Starbucks and it was actually better!
First timer, giving three stars due to the first young lady that helped me being soo eager to get back to a friend that came in the shop to chit chat she was there but NOT there. There was a second young man that recovered, he was attentive and friendly, answering my questions. The coffee was really good and very resonable. I would recommend and I will be back. Thanks!
It was ok. It was my first time here. The staff was nice. Good amount space inside and outside. From the food menu, they were out of a few things like avocado … which is part of a lot of their sandwiches, especially breakfast.Since I was eating there, I hoped for glass mugs for the coffee and dine in plates but it was all paper plates. They gave us our pasties cold and I had to ask for them to be warmed up. They were ok. Taste store bought not freshly made.A small raspberry mocha frap was over $6 which is a bit on the pricey side.My brother had their turkey sandwich and loved it.
First time coming to this coffee shop. I have tried many in the Raleigh area, I ordered the turkey Pesto which was reasonably good for the cost! However, as a guy I felt bit weird and uncomfortable how the men workers were dressed as more so girlish, that didn’t sit well with me or the guest I brought along. I won’t be coming back here, and as the setting just didn’t suit me. Hope they make improvement changes in their dress code and surrounding…
usually really great, but went through the drive-thru today and ordered a cappuccino and was super disappointed. :( it was clear whoever made it didn’t know how to make one because it was basically all milk (not frothed at allwith a little expresso. the drink was so heavy it felt like a latte.
Coffee was good. Service not great. Waited 10mins after our coffee was served and had to ask where our food was (bagel & pastry.). Not something that needed a lot of attention. Workers didn’t apologize for forgetting half of our order. Will not go back
The coffee is great but I dont get why there arent expiration dates on the pastries like at Starbucks.
I ordered a honey cream cold brew, when I got it I had to ask if there was actually coffee in it because it just tasted like watery honey. Also ordered an americano. When I opened it to put cream in, it looked like the dirty water from when you are rinsing out the coffee pot. The people who worked there didn’t really seem to know what they were doing either. I don’t live here and actually drove pretty far to try this place. It was a total miss!
I always prefer local coffee houses over the big franchise/corporate ones. They have great coffee and a wide variety of baked goods. I would reccomend.
Comfortable place to enjoy a bite to eat and a tasty drink. I recently had the classic avocado toast, and honey cream cold brew. Both were great!
First time there today - drive thru. Medium iced latte was like a venti size at Starbucks but the smaller cubes made room for even more coffee! Fast, friendly and tasty!
Ive gone here a few times now and Im obsessed with the vanilla caramel latte. They also always give my dog a treat when we come by drive thru, its the sweetest thing ever! This coffee shops a little out of my way but I dont mind the drive because I know Ill be satisfied. My boyfriend also is super picky about his chai lattes and loves the way this place makes them with crushed ice! Go here you wont regret it.
Awesome coffee shop! I loved the cold brew, my husband and I shared a bagel which was pretty good — but the star for both of us was the coffee (duh!). I love the convenience of the drive thru and how great the staff was!
First time customer and never felt more relaxed and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice calming environment with excellent service and quality coffee. Love this place and I will be coming back for more soon.
There was once a time when this was my go to coffee spot. I drive past 4 others to get here and would gladly do it. Price was good service was quick things were great. Now prices have increased drastically previously 2 drinks and 2 bagels with cream cheese was around the 14 dollar mark now the same stuff is 20. service is slower and the staff puts out an inconsistent product at the best of times. Sometimes the bagel is a reasonable amount of cream cheese other times it is just enough to cover the surface. It almost pains me to say it but I think I’ve had my last experience with them. Hope y’all can get it turned around.
Every time Ive visited Deja Brew I have a great experience. The customer service is always on point and the coffee is delicious. Im a fan of the Java mocha rush, the ground up chocolate covered coffee beans are so good. We tried a bit of the food they offer and it was good as well. I believe we had the chocolate bread (pound cake? And it was right in line with the exceptional experience were accustomed too.
Excellent coffee and good selection of breakfast sandwiches and sweet bakery items. Love the cute little action figures in the pickup window. The drive through exit is a bit tight and unless careful you may get a curb rash on your left front wheel. Overall worth a drive to the area even on weekends just for the wonderful aroma.
Staff was so nice and the coffee was FANTASTIC. Can’t wait to visit again!
First time caller! I was on this side of town and wrapped up early so found this place on Google Maps looking for an independent coffee house. It looked closed from the outside but I saw cars in the drive-thru so tried my luck at the door, happy to see a few folks dining inside the well-spaced out cafe. I ordered an egg sandwich on a bagel and a hot tea. The server in training was very nice and did a great job, even bringing my selections to my seat after I had sat down. The baked goods looked tasty, but I resisted... today. 😜 I will definitely stop in here again when on this side of town.
Great little local coffee shop! Fast service, great drinks and a friendly staff! For those not familiar with Raleigh, it is only about a 4-5 minute drive from I-440 if you take the Wake Forest Rd exit. I like going into the store to order but for those interested they also have a drive through. Additionally, both bathrooms are gender neutral which is great for those in the LGBT+ community.
Discovered this spot when gps sent us to a place that was closed and are soooo glad we did! Will definitely be back whenever in the area. Friendly staff and fast service...but the drinks were amazing! I had the mocha java chip and my daughter had an iced caramel macchi and they were both perfect! If what you want is not on the menu just ask, Im sure they can make it for you. Why be just another number at a national chain when you can enjoy much better coffee from a locally owned business?
Staff are really friendly. Im a regular now, to the point that the baristas ask as Im walking in the door if Im having my usual (cafe mocha.. and yes on the whipped cream, thank you). The coffee is good and the food is delicious. All of it is reasonably priced. Id love to see an expanded food menu, but I understand thats not the focus here. I highly recommend Deja Brew... just dont sit in my favorite spot before I get there. 😉
ever since Kevin showed me the spot, its been my favorite. I believe this is one of Raleighs best kept secrets, and its my favorite places to relax and grab a a vanilla caramel macchiato almond milk coffee 😍👍 they have great non-dairy options and gluten-free oatmeal. As always, the atmosphere is warm and relaxing with plenty of comfortable seats and tables. They have great clean bathrooms too!! I would put this high on my list of study places probably 2nd or 3rd if not first. I honestly wish I was closer because I would go here more often!! Love it 😍 keep it up guys!!
Fantastic London Fogsand great sandwiches. This was the first coffee shop Ive tried working in, and I loved it! The atmosphere was quiet, quirky, and conducive to writing.
Deja Brew is a nice coffee shop in mid-to-north Raleigh. Unlike many local coffee shops, they have a drive through, so you can get your joe on the go while supporting a local business instead of defaulting to a big corporation for convenience. They have lots of seating inside and a smallish covered patio section outside. There are some baked goods available—the selection isn’t huge, nor do they seem to be prepared onsite, but they are still tasty, and this is a coffee shop, not a pastry shop. The manager/owner/person in authority who was there when I visited was very nice, and they made sure everyone had a great experience and great coffee.
Fantastic coffee!Highly recomend the cold brew with honey! Its wondeful.I love the prices and the sizes here you pay a reasonable amount and get a huge fantastic tasting coffee. I could go here three times a day... or more. Its fast too!Furthermore, this is onc eof the only places Ive found out side of NYC where you can get a proper black and white cookie!
Great atmosphere inside of a secluded little shop. They have lots of comfortable, high-backed chairs to sit and enjoy a coffee or meal. This place is great for casual meetings. Their tea and coffee brews are excellent and you can try samples of the coffee before you choose. The lighting is cozy and warm. They have some interesting art on the walls. Bathrooms clean and fresh. Overall great coffee shop and Cafe.
This is a quiet/chill spot. Dont know what you want? Theyll ask you a bit about your likes and recommend a few. Theyre patient and polite. I try to stop by when Im in the area. This is their take on Vietnemese coffee. I like 😊
Friendly staff, great coffee and cappuccino. Funky monkey is super sweet but delicious. Cappuccino had a great foam and wasnt too bitter.
Great little coffee house. Cozy atmosphere and great for cute meets and small gatherings.
