Deck Cafe - Restaurant in Nailsea, United Kingdom
Lovely cafe serving Hungarian food. We were there for breakfast and had pancakes and thr Hungarian omelette, all really good and great value for money!
Lovely bean gulash soup. Tastes like home :)Plus it is dog friendly
Very cozy and artsy place, the waitress was lovely! The food was delicious.
Delicious homemade Hungarian food. They let us try a very hot paprika relish too. Cheesecake was perfect. Really friendly service too.
Love coming here for the breakfast burrito. So tasty and great sun spot on the side of building
Delicious food, excellent coffee and friendly staff
Cute and rustic cafe. Affordable prices which is great. I went for breakfast with a few friends and the food was just ok. Pancakes were a bit bland. The Americano coffee I ordered was watery. The fresh juice however was delicious. Definitely my favourite part of the meal. I would like to go back and try their dinner menu.
Food os fresh and amazing they have plenty of gluten free option!
The beef goulash was extremely fresh and light and unexpected. I have had goulash previously, German goulash with thick sauce, but this one is different. it is soupy, light, fresh, nice for a hot summer day or cold winter night. If you like something spicy, ask for their Hungarian pepper paste.Chicken chiabatta was good as well, but the star was the goulash.
Met a friend for brunch. Very tempted by the Hungarian food but had a full English breakfast which was good value served by cheerful, friendly staff. Would go there again.
One of my favourite places in Bristol. Staff is amazing, food is great, well cooked and very authentic
First time there. I ordered the gypsy roast pork and the fruit cake – Amazing!
Great selection of traditional and more modern Hungarian meals, desserts, wines. The staff is nice and welcoming. The café itself is situated on a busy street , with some seats available outside. Prices are reasonable and the ingredients are good quality. I would highly recommend this spot for a lunch or tea.
Definitely a Café to try!Lovely family atmosphere, Hungarian dishes mainly, many vegetarian and vegan options,Superb food, great quality,Professional staffOnce you tried you definitely will go back now and thenSergio Z.
I am Hungarian and live in Newport, but they food is so good it is worth the travel! I had the Beef stew (Marha pörköltbecause it is so well done and delicious made with nokedli. Also the selection of home made Hungarian cakes is amazing 😍I am very grateful for this place in Bristol I always feel at home when I go there. The service is very friendly and welcoming too.
Went prior to Saturday football for lunch, friendly, rustic and very busy.Lovely coffee and a breakfast wrap.Well worth visiting. All seats full all of the time.Waitress worked really hard to keep us all served
This is a nice, reasonably priced cafe that specialises in Hungarian food (Goulash etc.but also stocks traditional English fare. We only stopped briefly for a coffee and brownie but we did see what others were eating and the food looked good! Two coffees and a brownie came in at under £8 so not too bad for Bristol. Its nicely decorated inside with lots of plants and books covering the walls. Would recommend!
Very nice and chilled atmosphere. The service was super friendly and the food delicious. I felt very welcome here and will be coming back for sure… need to test more of that menu!
Small place with lovely poached eggs... healthy food, breakfasts. Lovely friendly people. First visit for us. Will definitely visit again.
Im not too familiar with Hungarian food, probably Goulash is the only dish Id recognise so I was interested to see what the menu looked like at The Deck.We stood outside and read the Breakfast Menu taped to the window and we were happy with the options available, so we decided to go in.Inside it was warm and slightly damp, the windows were steamed up and covered in condensation. The Cafe isnt huge, but they had a selection of rustic wooden tables and chairs that allowed couples or larger crowds of maybe 6-8 to eat together but it was a bit tight and not the place for secret or intimate conversations. There were some high stools in the window where (on another daya lone customers could sit and watch the pedestrian traffic on the pavement outside. We sat at a table just inside the door and were soon given a menu which offered some interesting options to the Full English and I decided on the Meaty Burrito (£7.75with a Hot Chocolate (£2.55whilst my wife went for the Hungarian Omelette (£6.95and a Flat White Coffee (£2.75).The Meat Burrito was a little disappointing. It had very little meat in it. It was advertised as Scrambled egg with Bacon, Chorizo, red Onion and Spinach in a wrap with Cheese and Avocado.I imagined a wrap full of Bacon and Spicy Sausage but It was in fact a Scrambled Egg Wrap, there was very little meat included. Its a pity really as this could have been a great option. If it had been served with a few slices of Bacon or a couple of Sausages, maybe some Hash Browns and a few baked beans it would have been a great breakfast but it was a bit frugal. I enjoyed it but it was nowhere near substantial enough to satisfy the appetite of the Fat-boys breakfast club.My wife enjoyed her choice but again it was Scrambled Egg rather than an Omelette as we know it.Service was friendly and efficient though we werent very demanding. There were some rather nice looking cakes and pastries available but we decided to resist the temptation and head out into the bitter cold wind of storm Arwen.
Delicious, homemade Hungarian mushroom soup. Full of flavour. Creamy with pieces of mushroom, onion, carrot and position in. Just the right amount of paprika. Friendly, helpful staff. Relaxed, with gentle background music.
Hungarian restaurant & cafe. Lovely staff, good location and cosy indoor decoration. Varied menu focused on breakfast treats.
Too expensive for what we got and not enough veggies to go with your meal. It is more of an eatery than a restaurant. Portion was ok for me, but my husband left hungry. There were also many flies over our table as soon as we received our food :/
Popped in for a hearty lunch. I was on the go and needed to stoke up. The Deck Cafe never disappoints. Love it 😍
Great food options and delicious. Great service and reasonably priced. Weve been a few times and always have a great experience. Well be returning to try more meals. My Wife is Hungarian and enjoys the traditional tastes and options. Well done guys 🙂❤
No sough doughHad the breakfast. Well plated and good quality meat. Chose the cafe over another because of the advertised sough dough. Sadly the bread was more like a white bloomer. Would no recommend if proper sough dough is your thing.
Delicious Full English breakfast 😁👍, high quality ingredients used. Friendly staff and good service. There is a small amount of outdoor (on streetseating available.
Well sadness did make picture, how perfectly made food looks like. But can say highly recommend to visit and taste food. You made my day many thanks, friendly people serves tasty food. Best good luck and see you next time =)
This is the cutest place with the friendliest staff. The Hungarian cheesecake was delicious and had a citrus flavour Ive never tasted before. Also 2 coffees with oat and almond milk on offer all for £9. And books available to read. So nice to see something as Independent as this operating and offering such a unique food and drink experience in a relaxed environment :)
Really good restaurant! Generous portions of delicious food, but make sure you leave the room for the cake! The slices are thicc as well, so even having just coffee and a cake is a great treat. Definitely worth it and I will be back!
It was a very nice experience to be here. The staff was cheerful and welcoming. I would highly recommend the beetroot cake, which was a great surprise! The avocado cream on top with the pomegranate sprinkle was truly a compliment for the rich and moist cake. You should really give a visit to this place if youd like to eat a nice slice of cake and a glass of good vine.
Had an awesome brunch today at Deck - we had the protein breakfast and 2 veggie breakfasts between the 3 us and it was all cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Flat white and smoothies were also spot on and service was friendly and quick as ever.
Brilliant service, very kind staff!Dori is a prepared and very kind business owner. The food is delicious, authentic. The service is fast and the food described on high standard on both language. The atmosphere is very calmed, really have the "feels like home". This place is not a typical hungarian restaurant, not specific for the hungarian kitchen. You can have healthy dishes, vegan, vegetarian or traditional pork/beef. You can have coffee with alternative ingredients. This place highly recommended!!!
Great food and friendly staff. Real bacon and fresh sourdough bread 😋
Great food, lovely service and nice atmosphere. Must visit !
Lovely service and great food. Authentic Hungarian flavors. Dont forget to try the coffee. Support your small local businesses ;).
This is such a lovely place! I get a warm and friendly welcome every time I come in. The coffee is excellent and I really love their selection of cakes. I just hope they will all stay well and get over this awful lock-down. Best wishes to you all. Robin
Oh my lord, this place is amazing! My Hungarian friend took me here for my Birthday today. Lots of Vegan options, great atmosphere, lovely natural, rustic interior and lovely temperature in there too actually! Doggos allowed in which was so nice as I really didnt want to be away from them on my Birthday :really good location and lots of street parking. Staff super friendly, helpful and happy. Loved it and cant wait to be able to go again. Thanks Deck!
I had the good fortune of attending on a Friday night, which meant it was surprisingly quiet. Two courses for two people and a bottle of wine cost us a reasonable £50 - including tip! Food was wonderful (Goulash and schnitzelwith attentive and polite staff. 10/10 would eat again.
Proper Hungarian food and hospitality. One of the friendliest places on Gloucester Road. Pop in for cake and coffee or have a delicious and very filling meal. Great place.
Very nice and delicious cakes again. The wine and the green juice was nice too. We were absolutely satisfied.Thank you.
Perfect breakfast, soft poached eggs and the mushrooms and cherry tomatoes were roasted which gave great flavour. Range of healthy juices and also Hungarian specials, definitely will return. Top poached eggs with bacon on toast.
This is the real star of Gloucester Road.Went here for some lunch the other day and wasnt disappointed. The interior is lovely, with simple wooden furniture adorned with cushions, making this feel really homely and warm, along with the friendly faced staff, even better. The selection here is wonderful, with some items changed daily and others changed weekly.I went for a lovely Hungarian Beef Stew served with what i could only guess was pasta, whilst my partner had a homemade falafel salad, with the extras, bit washed down with their fresh and homemade juice. Both dishes taste absolutely wonderful and I cant wait to eat here again.
A nice chill place to have hot drinks and breakfast foods. I appreciate the fact that the menu is a little different here, like the delicious veggie burrito and veggie pancakes we chose today.
Good honest food and a cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff, fair prices. I enjoyed this Hungarian restaurant a lot.
Delightful feel and delicious food at this new eatery. Theyve put a lot of thought and effort into the decor, open plan with lots of bare wood, it feels good. Some interesting menu choices: I had veggie breakfast burrito which was excellent, including scrambled egg, mushroom, sweet potato, cherry tomato, served on a bed of spinach, with avocado on the side. Good tea. Very friendly staff. They do Hungarian recipes too for main meal options. Its small and cosy but bright due to the large windows.
Tried Deck out on Sunday for a relaxing brunch without the kids and would really recommend it. The place looks great (you wouldnt know that most of the furniture was made from old pallets!and has a lovely feel, and the staff were really friendly. Most importantly the food and drink were great too. We had pancakes and a full English. Maybe the bacon could have been a bit crisper but altogether a great start to our Sunday. Will definitely be back...
Homemade juices. Granola bowls and good coffee. Cant love it more! The staff friendly and smily. Definitely one of my fab places.
On my first visit today I was utterly charmed. The welcome is warm, the service is friendly, the food is excellent and the decor is fun. There’s a lovely open atmosphere here, and I felt that my custom was valued. I’ll certainly be coming back, and I’ll be bringing friends.Major plus points for the music; cool selection, played at a reasonable volume, unlike many cafes in Bristol where you can’t hear yourself think!
I had a chance to visit this place with my parents on Monday, which turned out it was their first day open. The staff was amazingly kind and quick, the food was just simply amazing. The place has its own character, very rich and modern inside.Thank you Deck having me, I think I will be one of your massive supporters.Great job and see you soon for the next meal, coffee and slice of cake.
