Death Railway Museum - Museum in Hinthada, Myanmar
I have worked at The Death Railway Museum as a Manager.
Nice
It is a good place to learn about history. You can also go and relax with family as there is a good green place to rest.
UP²
End Of The Railway From Manmar To Thailand.
Yes, i know that place well. And we can see the history of about death railway how people have to tolerant on their work. So i love that place......
It is a very well kept and informative museum.
This small beautiful museum display history, torture of POW(prisoners of war)as labour on making the railway to join the transportation line of supply for japanese military to invade myanmar during world war II.the guy on duty there is very friendly with informative stories about the exhibition there.
Well maintained museum, but very small. Foreigners will have to pay MMK 5000 to enter.
Amazing🛤️
Like this.
The museum is too small and I think the fee is a bit high for foreigners. The history facts written on mirror-like-boards are very hard to read due to reflection, and it was bad idea to use such boards. The museum should have better display.Toilets are good.I do not feel good to see some people taking pictures with the 3D painting inside the museum because I felt disrespectful to the POW and forced labourers.
Museum with Memorial Place. This railway started from here and it has monument with different language. Japanese, English, Myanmar.
The death rail was a 415 kilo meter long between Ban pong Thiland and Thanbyuzayat Myanmar built by Empire of Japan in 1943 to support its force.Estimate of Rohmusha death was 90000 and 12621 allied POWa died during the construction.
3D death railway art is very nice.
Ticket for foreigner is quite high in comparision with local people
Its both fascinating and at the same time sadly for those POWs. Japanese surely know what they are doing but its so sad for these prisoners and locals. The building is small and the stories are hard to read. But you can see the lives of the prisoners and can feel their stories. Mostly comprised of photo stories and facts about The Death railway. A place to visit once you reach Than Phyu Zayat
Entrance fee is expensive. Just 500 kyats for local and 3$ for foriengners is suggested. And better to show movie for its history in small theater.
caz it is the place showing our historical image.... & it can give knowledge.
Myanmar history
Best for people who want to study history.
Just to Experience the place. Nothing much inside
Historic place concern about world war 2
Memorial of death railway in Myanmars historic
You can see about this death railway history who are cruel about myanma people
nice somethings to learn!
A good place to learn the conditions of the people who worked for railway during second world war under Japanese occupation. You could see bamboo huts how they slept at that time.Beautiful 3D art work and photos inside, but entrance fee is pretty expensive.
One life, one sleeper.
Its a historical even both Myanmar & Japanese. My grandmothers brother was lost to the railway.
History, pain, sufferring, loss. Meanwhile, people can learn many things. Small museum, they should upgrade more. The Mawlamyine - Ye - Dawei railway line is adjacent. They show photos with little explanation. 3D picture is nice. They should add more 3D pictures. Toilet is there. You can take a rest at the park. Please come and visit to support local Mon Community.
Nice museum. But small.
5000 mmk for foreigners. Small but clean museum. The history of the railway is explained in english. The little garden is cute. We spend 30 min in total.
If you are interest in Historic places and wanted to know more about, it is the place you go and visit. Remember to shoot many photos because it holds many beautiful scenes and well decorated garden.
Happy
It is the museum which can be learnt about Death Railway during The Second World War. Many people were killed by forced construction that railway from Thailand to Thanbyuzayat in Myanmar. There you can see the memorials of that period. It is intended By learning that museum everyone can understand the beastliness of wars and strongly want to keep peace. It is situated near Thanbyuzayat War Memorial Cemetery.
Very Nice place in Mon state"Myanmar"
Must visits place when you are in MON state .Observe what happened here during WW2 for Thai-Myanmar Railway.Thousands of life compensated for this railway project initiated byJapanese.Detail history in small building , but big story to tell.
Very little information in English. The limited info seems to be copied loosely from Wikipedia. Not worth the 5000katt entrance fee for tourists.
Good to know WW2 history at this building.
One of Historical places in Myanmar
Very less show items and categories which as historical place
There is not fulltime aircon and lighting. I thinks they should open with generators when visitors are there.
