Dearborn Station - Tourist attraction in East Chicago, United States
Security and manager won’t allow you to charge your computer with their outlets there and make you feel like you steal their electricity. Ridiculous.
5-stars for the view
Beautiful building, there is a bar where you can have some food at night is very busy wonderful patio
Bar Louie is the WORST FOOD AND SERVICE!
Creative and unique spot for a bar. Vintage
This was a great experience for us a very good friend of ours father used to work for the railroad and now shes a patron of the historic railroad society and she gave us a short tour ,which we loved and next time we will sign up for the full tour.
Oid Derborn Station of Chicago. We got a free tour from a friend who is a friend of the station since she was a child , her father use to work for this very station. And now she lives in one of these old renovated station houses.now condominiums .
Dearborn Station is a destination with many services and a Bar Louie that is the most beautiful one in the entire city due to the landmark status of the train station ....the South Loop is one of the most interesting spots in the city with beautiful buildings like this ...
In all honesty, the building is deemed a monument and a staple of the downtown area. The building currently houses my work office, which is an added plus. There are a few available spaces that would benefit from occupancy. I love the rustic and eccentric ambiance displayed in the foyer and halls. There are tables and chairs that provide the tranquility necessary to study or have lunch in a calm/relaxed setting.
The UPS is great here. Always friendly. Close to the Red Line and plenty of restaurants nearby. Really cool vibe to the whole building, which also houses a doctors office, The Jazz Showcase, and a few other small shops. Not to be confused with a mall, though.
Visited the Jazz Showcase and saw Tim Wsrfield performFriendly crowd and service
Nice building. Houses a number of offices and a restraunt. Parking can be tricky as no dedicated lot.
Attended awesome Architectural Boat and tour cruise. It was a good experience.
Took my mom to Fox in a Box for Mothers Day. The station itself was okay, but the escape room was amazing!
So a group of us stopped (6 by 5and asked for 2 tables. They acted as if they didnt want the business. I cant say it was bc we were all minorities, but after waiting 20 minutes just for water & to order, we decided to leave. They didnt even blink an eye, just "ok".Went down the street to Piasans and got great service there. Again, dont know why two places of business have such different reactions, but it worked out for "us" in the end.
Beautiful historic building although much of it has been converted to restaurants or offices and you cant see to much of the building. What you can see, has the feeling of a 1980s renovation vs the historic structure it is. The exterior was the best part i found although it does serve as a nice landmark for bars and restaurants if youre looking for a spot to go out.
What a great little piece of History, Im hanging out enjoying the culture and of course I see purple arms underneath a 1982 winning ugly White Sox jersey. You know who it was, I know who it was, it was the grimace. Just showing me that he can turn up anytime he wants, make me look around for him to try and get a photo, and then disappear.
I fell going into the doctors office and the 2 receptionists refused to allow me to talk or see my doctor although she was there. I had to take a bus to the E.R. where it was discovered I had broken my shoulder and upper arm. The pain was excruciating. I give them 0 stars for my experience.
An amazing place if youre looking for an escape.
What can I say. You got to have a chicago-style dog when in Chicago. Who is quick tasty and I recommend the Polish dog.
Went to the Jazz Showcase, and as usual, it was a great time. Accessibility and good parking make this place a go to for a night out.
I wanted to go to the yarn shop but the attendant wouldnt let me park there. I would like to know if the yarn store (Yarnifyis part of the parking ?
Beautiful place to walk around both in the morning and at night but I will say that the place is a little shady and not the most "safe place" but that could me being overly cautious there many stores all around other then that is a great place to take a group of friends or your family member but to be safe dont go alone.
Adorable little store! Friendly faces, everyone was so eager to help! Love the way the yarn is organized!
Station is clean and quiet. Nice place to have to wait for your train. You can even watch television and the attendant was helpful when I asked a question.
I love 105 hot yoga. There is parking in the back of the building. I think the fee is $3 an hour and you pay the attendant.
Hospital and like little shops inside. Historical landmark. So outside still looks how it looked years ago. Nostalgic!
I bank there Byline Bank. Also a nice seating and table area to have lunch, work on your laptop or just reading
Grateful for my lifes acquainted connections; it was an enjoyment to revisit Volunteers of America. An SSVF Organization which assist veterans and the community to their goal of stability.
This is really cool on the inside & out. They have the flags hanging of different railroad lines also they have other shops inside.
Cozy, engaging place to enjoy excellent live jazz music. Excellent acoustics, comfortable sofas intertwined with tables and chairs. Large stage, nicely decorated with suggestive illumination. Excellent cocktails to accompany the music. I enjoyed the teens of pictures of famous jazz musicians exposed on all walls, many of which played at the Jazz House.
The Dearborn Station is one of the last remaining of the old train stations that is left in Chicago. The train station offers a wonderful anchor for the Printers Row Landmark District. The station is also known as The Polk Street Station and has been Rehabbed into retail space, offices, and public gathering areas. The Dearborn Street Station is on both the National and the city of Chicago historic landmark places.
Nice historical station loop Chicago
I went there for my dr appointment in mercy clinic didnt know theres more officces & services here ...im going to go back & get the whole view on this location
This corridor has several dinning spots and is near public transportation including, Redline train: (Harrison.Bus routes #36 #29 #146. Go explore!
Had a doctors visit but if youre looking for a low key spot to read or study there foyer is really nice.
Mostly a bunch of random businesses inside. Looks cool from the outside though.
I love this building. The feeling of an old station with new functions given. There is nice burger in the bar in the building.
I used to come here when my mom got her nails done at the longtime Dearbirn Station nail salon, European Touch, that abruptly closed a few years ago. I now visit whenever I practice yoga at the newest of 3 studios of 105f. I love that I now sometimes practice yoga someplace I spent hours at throughout my childhood. Even the valet guys are still the same! Its a landmark and a secure place to go to downtown being that they have security.
The outside is far more interesting than the inside, I’m afraid. There are some signs of the station’s former architectural glory inside, but most of what is in there isn’t terribly inspiring. But it’s definitely worth a walk around the exterior!
Even though its not the old train station that was here back in the day, it still has sort of the antique look to it. Its a nice looking place and theres a lot of old historic looking buildings. Even though theyre all new buildings.
Visited MERCY HEALTH.Not at all impressed with customer service; non-caring, no eye contact, barely turn around and look at you, non-engaging - they rush you on yet are fairly slow.
Wonderful historic place with my favorite Bikram yoga studio and nail salon (Mercy nails). But dont use the parking lot in back. The guy is angry and rude. He also charges a full hour if youre 2 minutes before 6pm. (after 6 is flat rate)
They are a walk in facility, but had only one doctor designated for walk ins. That doctor was on leave, so they just discontinue taking walk ins all together until futher notice. Such an inconvenience.
Played Fox in the Box, prison room..best thing ever & time with my 3 best friends. Loved it! Going back & told everyone.
Ive only connected with Dearborn Station on a personal business level; meeting with my Supportive Services for Veterans and Families (SSVFOrganization, Volunteers of America. The facility is always well kept and all staff throughout are very friendly.
Beautiful building rehabbed into center for essential neighborhood services. Could use a good restaurant and/or dress shop.
I visit the doctors office here. There are other businesses at this location, but my entirely is a medical visit only. Theres free parking for patients. My doctor (Dr Angelesis warm, friendly, and cares for her patients.
The last and only surviving of Chicagos grand railway stations.... now converted to rather routine retail uses. Step inside here and step back in time to when dozens of ordinary and famous people traversed the halls on arrival to the city. No longer so grand ..... but if you use your imagination you can still hear the hustle and bustle while you see the horses and buggies outside waiting for their passengers. Check out Sandmeyers bookstore down the street for some great reading on this areas historic past.
Beautiful station, well updated and clean inside. I go to the yoga studio there and every time I come it is very quiet and peaceful there. I love to sit downstairs after my class and enjoy few minutes of peace. It feels like waiting for the train with the big clock above my head. Wish they had some train style coffee shops and show movies with traveling across the country by train.
