Very relaxing place. You can rent an electric boat and make a trip on the water roads or around the lake. You can also find some duck that wants to follow you.

Amazing and beautiful. So relaxed and quiet. Very few tourists.

We went kayaking in the swamp area. Very relaxing environment with a lot of water lilies and water plants.

Beautiful and clean.We Took a boat Trip, which was affordable. Not recommended in summer or weekends, as there are many people and the rivers will be full.

If you want to have a great experience, make sure to visit here when the weather is nice, and make sure to rent a boat! (At least for an hour)

Its a real nice National Park full of Walter Channels and lovely villages. Enjoy it by bike or boat. Even in Winter!

The Weerribben area is a beautiful place for relaxing. Whether you prefer walking cycling or a sup/canoe, you for sure will enjoy your stay.

Its a none regret decision to cycle around De Weerribben-Wieden National Park. We had a very good memory here in 2018. The View around the national park is amazing. There are less tourists so cycling here is very relax and comfortable. I think most tourists go to Giethoorn. It is an unique experience.

Wetlands, canals and birds, nice and flat area.

Rented a boat and had a lovely time exploring all the waterways. Beautiful exceptional architecture and some history.It was Sunday and very busy, longer waiting times but enjoyed it.

Wonderful place, really loved rowing through the canals and nature. If its hot outside be sure to have enough water with you to avoid dehydration.

Beautiful views and a quiet place to enjoy the lake

Rural Netherlands, cycling heaven. Ideal for all ages as its all flat. Kids are safe as most of the routes are on dedicated cycle paths. British families should holiday in this area. English spoken by most local people. Most food in the supermarkets will be familiar to UK people. Holiday villas are an ideal base.

Village part is nice but the rest is just normal boat ride with wild bushes. Maybe it is the time if year not many things to see

This place is stunning! Its an artificial town. Almost all of the houses are surrounded by canals that have been hand-dug. Tourists get in a boat (you can steer by yourself or get a "captain"and just float quietly, among the beautiful houses and under wooden bridges with the occasional hungry ducks. The buildings are monumental, so the architecture has to be preserved. Thats why these houses still have roofs made from hay. I would suggest visiting here in the summer so that the cold wind wont lessen the fun. Its definitely a memorable place to visit!

It is a very pleasant and serene sight. But look out for good boat rentals. Not all are behaving helpfully. They may not guide you for the crowded areas on the ring route and will charge you extra when you are automatically late in returning.You may have to specifically clarify the route back to the boat hire center from the ring route after your journey is over. It is very confusing for some boating companies which are not on the main commercial center. Every chance that you may lose your way back . Again, you will be charged extra for being late.

This is a great place to spend a relaxing day. You can rent an electric boat for 15 euros per hour and sail around the canals and lakes.The houses and gardens along the canals look amazing.There are plenty of restaurants around, with alright prices.

Very nice place to have fun with family it is very important to look to the weather forecast before come specifically for hot country people

In the Giethoorn village it is quite busy with all kind of tourists.However going in the lake with a "punter" or "fluisterboot", you will enjoy the quite surrounding.

Giethoorn might be nice but it ia busy so I highly recommend to enjoy the nature around it by electric whisper boat.

If you like water, open spaces and reeds, birches and the likes, this is the place for you. Wide open nature. Fresh clean water and a relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful wetland area. Tours are good. Renting a kayak would be more fun.

Restaurant De Gele Lis lies right next to the visitors centre, and the omelet they have is baked soft, but very nice. The nearby island, witch you can reach with a bridge, is very nice.

Typical swampy area in this Provence of the Netherlands. The surfing beach is small and its not even close to what you call a beach. In the summer time its usually crowded and people dress up in front of you instead of going to a small cabin where you can change there.

This is a beautiful place to experience rural life in Holland! We spent 4 days based out of Kalenberg. We spent one day exploring canals via electric boat, one day exploring via bike and the other two via car and foot. Its a beautiful place and one I think would be special in every season for different reasons.We saw frogs, a snake, many birds including herons, cranes and many ducks.The park includes working farms so depending on the time of year youll see people working in the fields or gathering reeds etc.As Americans from the mountainous west, the flat landscapes, idyllic villages, friendly people, and wonderful dairy products were a really terrific experience.If you are interested in a quiet place to experience natural beauty Id suggest De Werribbean-Wieden.

Do you want to get into a fairytale and dont leave Earth? Book a boat in Giethoorn and forget about the rest of the world and that you have a job to return to in a few days :Great for the entire family! Would always return with the greatest pleasure

The Venice of the Netherlands without the stinky smell that is.The rent boats are a must for anyone visiting Giethoorn and start from 15 Euros per hour.During summer its recommended you pre book your fare online as it can be fully booked.

Very beautiful place. Loved the atmosphere here. Hop on a motor boat and soak in the environment. Lots of amazing sceneries here. If peace and tranquil is what you are looking for, then this is the place to be.

Rent a small motor boat or a kayak to tour the canals. Beautiful canals, underneath small wooden bridges, floating past lovely old village houses. And then a nice trip through the wetlands and lakes. Beautiful and fun.

Classic National Park with surroundings of canals and water bodies. Easily accessible from Giethoorn and can be travelled via boats or can also reached by car. Good place to visit with friends and family.
