It was the worst dining experience EVER. The food was not fully cooked and tasted like road kill. My fiancee vomited all night. She only recovered this morning. For me personally I was safe. I only ate the bread. The food is prepared in the Sun long before the time. That is not aproppriate for Seafood. You can not let seafood lay in in the sun for hours. I wont recommend anyone to go there EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!°

Best value for money...The food was of excellent quality and full of flavour. The atmosphere was awesome as we could kick off our shoes and enjoy the sand in our toes while having delightful meals. We had loads of fun with the photo props they have available.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon with friends. Everyone enjoyed the food and the dining experience.

Loved my Sunday lunch on my first time visit! Heard so much about De Vette Mossel, and it lived up to the good things I was told. Delicious,fresh and well proportioned meals. And the rolling buffet was absolutely fantastic! Please people, support this stunning establishment..

The restaurant environment is full of fun and keeping the customers interested for the dishes coming next with some interactive communication.There are many kids fun play facilities onsite for families.For the people purely coming for the seafood buffet, to be honest, I had expected a bit more before I walked into the restaurant.Total 7 courses. I love the first 3 courses, bread, mussels and braai Snoek, especially mussels, clean and tasty, super!Then the 4th and 5th course, seafood mix pot and Potije course, which are dishes that most of customers are desiring to taste, are not in good standard. The food in the pot has been so cooked away, besides prawns and a few pieces of calamari, all types of fishes were mixed and cooked into little pieces you couldnt know what it is anymore. The look and taste both are disappointing. The seafood materials should be rather cooked separately to let customers to enjoy. The same story for the Potije course, meat are cooked like pulled beef.The salads with the main course are so general. I have enjoyed so many tasty Afrikaans salad meals. I am not satisfied with basic green salad only.The last course coffee and koeksister. If you are a coffee lovers, rather drink the tea. I havent tasted such bad taste coffee for years. It must be a very cheap instant coffee, like Frisco.At last, for the price of R290 per person, I think there are lots improvement. I wont be coming back to have another meal for long, not like this.By the way, it is really cold at night. Bring your warm jacket and warm shoes. Dont go bare foot just beacuse of the beach sand.

Lovely place. Simple, friendly, great food. Easy going. Beats fancy restaurants. When the (grandchildren are here, this will be the perfect place for a lunch. Till then, we will take our friends there as it just invites for easy conversations.The concept of "no waste" and a pillar for the community adds to the appeal.

Great experience right on the beach, the reception was very pleasant, there is a wedding venue on the premises if you want a beach wedding. Loved the place would be definitely making a booking very soon. Theres also a bar on the premises, Theres also plenty parking space. The ocean views are amazing.

Nice place to gave an eat as much as you can seafood meal. Main course is snoek but you can have linefish as an extra. Really enough food if you are hungry.A nice atmosphere right on the beach. Come early to get the best seats.

Great venue on the beach, a playground for kids that is large enough to keep them well occupied. The bar staff is quick and they have a good variety of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Mussel starters with fresh bread, followed by snoek and then two different pots, one from the sea the other from land. I would have loved some calamari deep fried but there is a menu to order from.

The food is out of this world and so delicious! We litterly rolled out. For the price it is worthwhile and it is as it says - Eat as much as you can for 3 hours! Friendly people with excellent service! Cannot wait to visit again in the near future.

The food was average for West Coast seafood. The atmosphere was good, but you get the idea that people come there with cool bags full of alcohol to drink and get fed while they drink, which isn’t a problem since it is a nice venue, but the food didn’t live up to expectations. To have a true West Coast experience, rather visit Muisbosskerm in Lambertsbaai.

Great experience for the whole family. Seafood buffet for R290 pp. Unique westcoast experience. Shoes not required and you can bring your own drink at no extra costs.

Had the most amazing, fun wedding here. The food was awesome and everyone at the venue was so helpful and friendly. They really contributed to making the day special for us.

This place really lives up to its policy. Eat as much as you like or can. Been here twice and will always go back. All foods freshly prepared infront of you. The bread is devine but be warned. Its so good you will want more and then you wont be able to eat the other dishes. 13 dishes to choose from and dont forget the coffee and rooibos tea afterwards. You are welcome to bring your own drinks but there is a fully stocked bar and cocktails and jam jars available.

What a place. So different, so memorable. I loved that we could take off our shoes to just walk around in the sand while actually being in a restaurant at the same time. Also, the dynamics of how food is served and eaten is so different and fun! We didnt use knives and forks, we used mussel shells! I personally have never liked fish, but at De Vette Mossel I dined on fish as if I was a fishmonger. The snoek was my favourite dish. Also, the pot bread was to die for.

Amazing atmosphere, place. Wonderful view. Food is absolutely to die for. If you want a relaxed afternoon/evening with your toes in the sand, this is the perfect place for you and your family. Kids stay busy for the whole time.

If you love eating seafood barefoot in the sea sand then this is the place to be. Went there the first time in 2010 and got married there in 2011. And was there again this weekend... magical atmosphere and the best seafood in the Garden Route.

All you can eat seafood buffet. It is made over hot coles. Very nice variety of seafood and if you manage to avoid the potbread table and make it to the calamari steaks it is definately worth it. It is also at a very nice venue with play area for the kids. It also has a area for weddings Booking should be made beforehand to avoid dissapointment. Would go again.

Where oh where to start. This is where you go in your fat pants to sit and chill with friends and family. And why is say fat pants. You are gonna need every cm extra space with all those omw out of this world food. Multiple courses complement each other.

Loved, loved, loved the experience here! Vast quantities of delicious fresh food (mainly seafood and fish but there is a lamb and beef stew to die for too!). Come here hungry!

A very rustic setting with a festive atmosphere. The all-you-can-eat seafood was generous although there was no cutlery to eat with. Guests had to eat all the courses with mussel shells which lost its novelty after the third course. Bring your own drinks but dont forget your wine glasses!
