Excellent beer selection and great staff

One of my fave places in Amsterdam. The alley leadin to it looks like a genuine film set. The atmosphere is cozy and tight, but thats what makes it even more interesting. Lots of beer to choose from and great value for the money.

What a great find! So many beers from all over. Very intimate, but didnt take itself too seriously. We really enjoyed our evening in here and the barman was very friendly and chilled as only the Dutch know how...

Extremely cozy, local, and well decorated. Bartenders create a homy atmosphere, and the selection of beers is enormous. Don’t expect full meals, but the snack platters are great. Basically, a local gem.

A superb, compact but cosy, beer bar. It really suits its dark, wooden interior. Being situated on a narrow, winding Amsterdam street adds to its aura too. A substantial, high quality list of local and Belgian beers is guaranteed. Dont ask for a recommendation though as you might be told: "youve made your problem, my problem now." or maybe do ask.

Great selection of beers : local breweries, Belgian classics, Witbiers, you name it, they probably have it. Good location, small and cosy room for a pint with a few friends. Recommended.

Dont be fooled by the rickety furniture and tumble-down looks. This place is charming and delightful, and the beer menu is mind bogglingly extensive.

I’ve been t another of their locations, which was larger with more on tap, so I was a little disappointed by the on-tap selection here. However, there are still many good choices available... I had the house IPA, which I’ve had before. Very tasty.It was very crowded when we arrived... Friday night... and people were clumped up by the door so the initial experience was unpleasant... but once past them, we were able to sit at the window bar.Service was quick and friendly.

The best for trying all important beers of the area. Enough to eat with good quality to keep on tasting for a longer time. Great atmosphere on such a small surface. They do have some other places in Amsterdam since I last was there (being away from Amsterdam for 30 years, but visiting every time Im there...). I dont know how good these are.

My boyfriend and I loved this "Brown Bar" so much that we came here not once, not twice, but three times.This is seriously the perfect Amsterdam bar (I know because we went to at least 50 over five days). Its down a small ally, there is a sign that says "dogs are welcome, humans are tolerated," and there is an insanely amazing beer selection. Each beer is also poured in its appropriately branded glass.Theres wifi and bathrooms. Theres tiny little stools and old wooden tables. This place is seriously without question my favorite bar in Amsterdam. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Great meeting point and place to sit back and relax. Try a beer youve never heard of or imagined and chat to a stranger, I just wish it was a little bigger, but perhaps it would then just be like 90% of the other bars in Amsterdam.

The beer is very good, there is a very good selection, wasnt happy to rip my not so cheap jeans on a loose nail sicking out of one of the benches. Made for a very expensive couple of beers. I would recommend if you want to get away from drinking fizzy pop from local larger factories

I was here 2 years ago. My hotel was nearby so I could stop every night for a drink. The ambiance is great, and people there is excellent. But can you ever have a bad night in Amsterdam? :)

Very nice spot to experience a big selection of craft beers. The place has a nice atmosphere due to being so small, and the multiple levels in this small space.One tip for the owners; please have cards of the beer selection. I want to try different things, and reading them on the boards above the door & window is quite annoying and awkward. I rather read this while sitting at my table, so I dont feel rushed to choose something.

Brilliant bar hidden away in a small side street. Excellent selection of fine beers and ales. Also do a really good cheese board. Small, so dont expect a lot of space. Excellent atmosphere. Highly recommended if you like to get a good beer.

This bar was exactly what I had hoped to find in Amsterdam. Small, tucked out of the way, very knowledgeable and a Belgian /Dutch beer selection that is second to none. A true highlight of my visit to the city

Fantastic little pub, friendly knowledgeable barman/manager and wide selection of immaculately poured beers. This place looks like a pub from Harry Potter and will only reasonably fit around 30 people - I counted the number of seats!

Want a historic place to have beer? This is the spot. Tucked away in a narrow side alley/street, with a good selection of Dutch and European beers to choose from. It was a one person operation both times I went, so please tip to show appreciation.

Not the best but a very lovely bar with lots of beers. This bar is mostly for the Belgium beer lover. Tried the Gollem’s Precious IPA with a 52IBU, nice fruity one.

If you enjoy beer, cheese or both of them, youll love this place. Small but warm and quiet, it is full of european beers.The beer cart covers almost half the bar. You can ask for a plate of cheese with bread while you taste one of them.
