De Broers van Julienne - Vegetarian restaurant in Puurs, Belgium
Food was fantastic! A wide variety of vegetarian dishes. Lovely garden setting. Staff was friendly and attentive!
Lovely food, very well managed garden with loads of herbs, and really lovely staff. Great place to be for a few hours on a Saturday/Sunday 👌
Food is okay. The texture of most dishes is soft/mushy so if you want some texture in your food, I recommend you to take the salad. One dish is around 20 euro. Its not cheap so youd expect some kind of service but it was horrible. We were with international students and we (Belgianwere quite ashamed of the service, especially the Asian lady. The previous time Id been there she was also pretty rude. She could use some kind of hospitality lessons. Theres another Julienne food place close to here so go there. Same food (vegan and gluten freeand there was very friendly person who served. Nowadays there are plenty of other vegan food places you can go in Antwerp with friendly staffs.
Original dishes, very tasty. I would suggest Crispy aubergine. House wine is also good. Must go spot for vegetariens or vegans
Not really great. We ordered a starter and 2 mains courses and the quality of the food was rather underwhelming. It wasn’t very bad, but also not restaurant quality. Especially for the price that is asked for the meal. There are plenty of vegan restaurant options in Belgium that offer better quality while still being in a lower price range.Especially painful for me was that the “kroketten” on the menu are in fact all very soft and mushy instead of being crunchy as one would expect. In summary, the food is okayish, and I would have given 3-4 stars if prices would be a third lower. Now it is unfortunately just expensive but still mediocre foods
The food was tasty but the service was sooo slow, I almost lost my appetite and left.Quiche is reheated (which is fine and expectedand small salad on the side but somehow that took 45 minutes. They don’t have enough staff at lunch to serve 8 tables and attend to the counter. I wouldn’t return, it wasn’t worth the wait.
The attitude of the lady working here deserves minus 5 stars. I will NEVER come here again
Nice foodAlways pleasure to eat there specially when u r veganNot a fan of desserts there but for the food and wine, works every time for me
One of the best vegetarian and vegan places of whole Antwerp! Always hard to choose because everything sounds amazing and Im eventually never dissapointed about the decision of the dish. They also have attention for the people with allergies and there is always something for everyone! The carrot cake is one of my faves!
Good food, only downside was sitting next to the espresso machine, not handy for conversations
This is a super nice restaurant for vegetarians and vegans. Its a bit expensive but the food is totally worth the price.
I tried their brownie and almond cheesecake, they were really tasty and moist. The taste is relatively light and easy to taste
We were there and order two meals for take way. The waitress (Chinesewas not friendly and couldnt answer any question about ingredients of severals meals... Not happy also with the Meals not good at all.
Excellent vegetarian and vegan takeaway and restaurant
No meat, but lots of taste! Unique concept, one of my favourites for more than 20 years.
During the end of the last bite, I became melancholic that I was about to finish this delicious food. Luckily, there was dessert
Delicious food with a cosy terrace!
Lovely peaceful garden and good vegetarian food.Unfortunately I discovered at the end of the meal that - despite advertising that they accept Visa - they do not in fact accept Apple Pay visa payments (either with credit or debit cards). My physical cards have both suffered some damage from being carried around in my wallet and do not read properly, and I have been quarantined in Belgium for a while without being able to replace them.So...I suggested I simply wire the money to the restaurants account, since I did not have a Belgian Bancontact card. The very polite staff telephoned the owner, Micha, to check.I am afraid with Micha it was not such a customer-friendly experience. He appeared irritated to be disturbed and and rudely lectured me: "You should never go out for a meal without having the money to pay". An acceptable proposition of course - except, I did have the money, and had been incorrectly led to believe that a foreigner could pay via Visa. Not so.I pointed out that his restaurant advertised it accepted visa, and that it would be good to get card machines that can use Apple Pay. He got angry at this suggestion, and said his card machines were very modern and updated six months ago. He had never had a problem with Apple Pay. An odd response, I thought. He refused to accept a wire transfer and insisted I find someone else to pay. What if I check my account and the money is not there? he asked. I had offered to leave my id details to reassure him, but he declined. Now anyone can see that yes, there is sometimes a credit risk if someone has technical payment problems: they might not pay. But instead of assuming that your guest is a thief and insulting the customer repeatedly, my gentle suggestion is: give your customer the benefit of the doubt and try and help if there is a difficulty. My wife was able to pay in the end. But Micha appears to me to be very poorly suited to any customer-facing role. My impression from the evening was that his customers, and indeed his staff, deserved a more helpful and better mannered owner/manager. A shame.
The food was delicious, especially the pumpkin croquettes, but does come with a higher price tag. We felt it was a bit cold inside later in the evening.
Been here multiple times, food has always been good and still was! Service changes from day the day, sometimes good, sometimes less
Nice Location, tasty but a bit too pricey
Perfect for having a healthy food and taking with a frinds in a nice atmosphere!
Very good. This place is living up to its reputation.
Tasty vegetarian & vegan food. Choice to eat in or take out. Lots of choice in tea & the cakes are simply amazing!
A great restaurant if you want to try vegetarian food. They make very delicious meals and are super friendly.
Very tasty meals and desserts. Their garden is very cozy and a quiet to enjoy your food and visit.
I had high hopes. First impressions were good. The space is nicely decorated. I had to walk from my hotel to get to the place and arrived at about 8.15pm (the website said it was open until 9). I was immediately told I could only have a main dish, which I thought was a bit unfair, but ok. I was told to sit at any table, so I chose one of the tables for 2 that wasnt directly next to other diners. I was then asked to move as sitting there would be in the way for the waitress (then why have a table there?). I chose a tagine with cod for my main, and ordered a hole made ice tea. The ice tea wasnt to my liking, but thats just a matter of personal taste, there will probably be just as many people who would have loved it. However, the cod fish balls (bits of fish mixed with other things and shapedin the tagine were so salty as to be totally inedible. I am used to eating salted cod (this wasnt advertised as suchand this was so much worse. I removed all of the cod balls and put them in the bread dish and ate the rest - which wasnt particularly flavoursome and definitely not what would be expected of a tagine. The staff saw me doing this but didnt ask if things were ok. I explained to the waitress when she came to collect the dish that the fish had been impossible to eat and again when I was paying. She just didnt seem to care. Some flavour combinations wont suit my palate, I can accept that. I mark this place down for serving inedible food (super salty fish), not seeming to care and not taking any steps towards customer satisfaction.
Terrible, but really TERRIBLE service. The lady waiter nearly bit the head off my friends with an earlier visit. She never smiled and it was really hard to get her attention. Yesterday the male waiter let me repeat my name three times to check the reservation, all without a smile or saying any form of friendly welcome. Then he plainly said I had to wake up my sleeping baby because the pram was not welcome in the restaurant. When I said I wanted my baby to sleep a bit, he merely shrugged and let me stand there on my own and did not even ask if he could help me with the stairs. I walked out never to return again. Food is good but not worth this horribly RUDE staff. Visit the Syrian restaurant next door in stead, much better!
i love their food but the man serving it is rude ! this is the second time I confront this guy, once in the city , in their little restaurant close to the Nationale straat and now in the Kasteelpleinstraat . he is extremely rude and I left the restaurant because of this very impolite man. too bad because their food is really good.
We had an early evening meal at De Broers van Julienne.Really liked the cocktails and appetisers. Felt the mains were a little overpriced, but they were very tasty.Overall the experience was okay, but the atmosphere was a little cold. Not many smiles from the staff and it kind of felt like we were eating in a corridor. One thing to add, as a vegetarian, it felt good to be spoilt for choice.
Very tasty! My mother loves it very much. Good service and friendly.
Healthy and some organic, tasty food. Ok location, bit away from the city centre. Nice garden to sit outside. Friendly staff. Toilets could have been a bit more tidy. Prices same as ordinary restaurant. Shroom lasagne and white wine as recommendation.
Amazing find! Delicious, fresh, and healthy vegetarian food in a beautiful setting. Stumbled in on an all you can eat bbq and it was worth every penny. Their backyard garden is idyllic.
Veggie + vegan place to be! Lekker!
The dishes have sufficient variety.been here twice now. With each time good service and an enjoyable atmosphere. They have tables outside which make it especially enjoyable during summer time!
Absolutely in love with this resto-shop. Great place to visit if you have food allergies. They list common ones on a list that you can backtrack with the menu, and the staff is very respectful and accommodating. I felt completely at ease. And their food is hea.ven.ly. Amazeballs for vegans and vegetarians! On a budget? Treat yourself to a slice of pie anyway. You wont regret it.
Nice take away, and lunch place. Vegetarians will love this place.
Always a pleasure to eat here when I am in Antwerp
Late hours, great desert selection, attentive wait staff, lots of vegetarian choices
Delicious food, but poor service and a very long wait. More than 1 hour and there were only 3 other tables. Kids couldnt sit at a table. They had to sit on the side of our table even though most of the tables stayed empty.
Wonderful food and so were the alcohol free home made lemonades. Ill definitely go again to try some of the other food on the menu
A more vegetarian restaurant with a lot of vegan options. Some of the dishes are also gluten-free & most of them are healthy! There is always a fish dish available. The staff isnt always very polite. They have a lovely terrace at the back in their long garden. Prices are reasonable!
Great food: amazing flavors, very fresh! Also recommended for parties or Christmas menus
They have delicious vegetarian dishes made from organic products, staff is helpful and friendly. If you can, go sit outside in the garden... Super romantic!
I have been this restaurant in June 2014. Its a nice restaurant with lovely and colorful decoration. Its located at the good area, nearly central of Antwerp. They all served with organic food and beverage thats good for health. I liked pies and salad, they taste good. They also supply all kinds of organic food including varieties of jams, teas and olive oils.Even its a small restaurant and has only one person serving but she was always nice and welcome to all guests.I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and other. Absolutely, I will go there again next year.
Very nice and cosy restaurant with good vegetarian dishes. (Take away food available for lunch but a bit expensive)
Nicer vegetarian dishes, though a bit on the expensive side.
Delicious, vegetarian food in a relaxed environment.
Very nice restaurant, friendly service and great food ! definitely worth a visit !
Poor service, wont be coming here again. Only 1 member of staff waiting and 1 in the kitchen for over 25 people and a take away service. Customers had to wait too long and the atmosphere was ruined for me and my wife as we took pity on the young man trying to keep up with it all. Disgraceful!
